I have used Maconomy at different companies for more than 7 years.

Maconomy is a slow, unreliable, that appears to have NOT significantly improved since the early 2010s. It lacks basic functionality compared with competitors. Maconomy slows down workforces considerably. It is an excellent case study in terrible software that creates costs and hassles; detracts from IT/operations/finance by forcing them to constantly troubleshoot; and hinders employee morale by being a terrible interface that showcases the worst in B2B software.

Even as the world has moved toward incredible cloud-hosted products that solve business challenges and foster innovation while creating user delight, Maconomy is among the worst pieces of business software on the market - this is a consensus opinion shared by many professionals in diverse industries.

Perhaps the only good thing that can be said about Maconomy is that there currently exists other software programs that might be considered "worse." Anecdotally, Maconomy has cost enterprises thousands of hours and perhaps unquantifiable business costs from deteriorated morale, to a consistent failure to process expenses/hours in a timely manner. Maconomy has an awful user interface and is almost unanimously reviled by its users. I have personally worked with hundreds of Maconomy users and never heard positive feedback from anyone.

With 1,000+ employees, business leaders can be guaranteed that with Maconomy these users will spend, on average, many hours dealing with Maconomy's consistent failures to perform basic tasks. Over a standard business timeline, this translates to years of productivity lost.

Maconomy is simply a terrible, slow, unreliable product that has virtually no place in 2020, and has been obsolete since at least 2013, if not sooner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Deltek Maconomy is well-organized and everything that needs to be included is included. In theory, it's a great tool and a great way to centralize time keeping, budgeting, expenses, and project planning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Deltek Maconomy is the slowest app I have ever used. I once had to make a bot that used it, and I had to add a "Wait" activity for 45 seconds because the app usually did not launch before that period of time. It’s not super intuitive to find every single part that you need for expenses or time sheets -- some crucial aspects are hidden on the side bars, making it near impossible to figure out on your own. After 2 years of using it, I am still not used to this system. It's cumbersome, slow, outdated and very very user unfriendly. It does not bring up a job even after keying in the job name. Clearly whoever developed this did not think of the end user at all. I dread doing my timesheet every week and dread even more when I have to enter an expense claim. There are a lot more user-friendly timesheet/expense systems out there and I hope companies take their employees feedback onboard and stop using Maconomy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
