What do you like best about Tower Servers?

The best thing about T servers (and Dell equipment in general) is support. Being assured that in the event of failures, hardware components would be delivered and replaced in the fastest possible way is something that distinguishes Dell from other vendors. When you go with Dell servers, you won't be disappointed.

It is easy to upgrade all necessary software, drivers and firmware. Built-in iLO allows you to manage the server from remote locations with the ability to perform cold shutdown, view the console and information regarding the status of different hardware sensors. This could be also passed to the virtualization host so you can act proactively and eliminate problems more efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tower Servers?

We had several hard drives failing after certain use. This is probably corrected with newer discs. In addition, we have purchased departmental servers which were pretty big and kind of noisy when fans kick in to cool down the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tower Servers solving and how is that benefiting you?

Dell PowerEdge is a solid piece of equipment that is easy to deploy, maintain and manage. It has excellent hardware support. As a result, it saves us time when troubleshooting certain hardware failures giving us more time to focus on other tasks and assignments when operating our network environment. What do you like best about Tower Servers?

Dell PowerEdge tower servers offer best-in-class technology for businesses of all sizes. They offer redundant hardware and with iDRAC Enterprise you can even troubleshoot a non-booting server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tower Servers?

The servers themselves are great. The only pain is when choosing hardware on the Dell site, the site frequently malfunctions. No real hardware issues, but if Dell could improve the reliability of their site for constructing the hardware configuration, it sure would be simpler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Tower Servers:

Make sure to get the ProSupport Plus warranty, and if the model you are considering only comes with iDRAC Basic, then consider upgrading to iDRAC Enterprise for full system management from outside the operating system environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tower Servers solving and how is that benefiting you?

Businesses that lack network racks still need a good server, and the Dell PowerEdge T series offers tower-style cases that don't scrimp on features. The Perc controllers offer excellent performance, and the hot-swappable drives avoid downtime for the client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
