I use this app for working between French, English and German in my translations.
Sometimes I nedd to translate ion French sentences or words pentionned in other languages. It's also useful.
The app is working well and very fast.
There's a free version, nothing to pay at first.

DeepL provides excellent German-English translations. It's incredibly convenient that you can translate text with HTML tags intact, making it easy to work with website code. Additionally, the API integrates seamlessly with WordPress, allowing articles to be translated with just one click. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Works great and integrates well. Both keyboard shortcuts for translation have quickly become muscle memory. The first shortcut is to quickly transfer the highlighted text into the application itself, translate, edit and paste back into any other application. The second shortcut is for translating the highlighted text on the spot. I use both on a daily basis and they work great. The app itself works great on the MacBook Air M1. Well, the main reason is the quality of the translation. I have tried many popular solutions, but DL suited me the best. Sometimes I use this tool just to paraphrase text, as the quality of the generated text is very high. And the speed of the application is amazing. There is a free version, but this is one of the few tools that I pay for with great pleasure to support the developers and further development of the product. There are a couple things that could be improved.
The first is related to the continuous development and improvement of the application. Because of this, new versions can sometimes suddenly overload the CPU and the app has stopped responding a couple times.
The second is related to text translation. The app often confuses gender when translating text. I am male and when I write text on my behalf, I need to control that the translated text corresponds to my gender. Often by default the translation is written from the other gender and nowhere in the settings is it possible to specify which gender should be used by default. What I like best about DeepL is that, with its Widows app, it gives me the ability to edit translations on the go. Thus, DeepL gives me a quite decent baseline translation, which I can change word-by-word and render the text compatible with any style I like. So, ultimately, it is me who does the translation but not some dull translation AI, making DeepL a wonderful tool for translators. It has helped me gain significant speed. I love DeepL. DeepL is almost perfect. It only needs a bit of fine-tuning here and there. For example, I would really use an "Insert" shortcut instead of a button that needs to be clicked every time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Everything works really well. Sometimes the translation is a bit shacky but from 100 jobs it´s 1-2 so totally fine and compared to others really good. Look at grammar and for me a combination with Gramarly works well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Deepl software experience is horrible. Every day I have to log in again. There is nothing more frustrating to pay for software that just doesn't work right. Immensely regret paying for a year up front right away. :(
