An easy system for booking appointments, with improvements as we go **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Stephanie V. | Business Development Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2021 **What do you like best about DaySmart Body Art?** I like the ability to send appointment reminders and see their reply. I also now enjoy the deposit area for appointments, though I have suggestions to make this better. Currently, you can only see the deposit on the computer version by opening the profile up. I would like to be able to see this deposit when hovering over an appointment or when viewing the appointment on a mobile device. I would also like to be able to clear the deposit if a mistake is made rather than have to create a sales transaction and apply it. From my understanding on the lowest account, you don't have the ability to remove a deposit from an account any other way. I also like being able to colour code the appointments, though my artists always forget what each colour means so maybe if there was a title on the booking when you cover to show or a KEY somewhere easy for them. Not a big deal, to be honest, I just remind them when they ask or they look at the actual tattoo notes. I like the ability to create a landing page for clients to be able to request appointments and create their own accounts. If you do not have a website already this is a great option for you. The mobile app works great, it does not include all factors as the website does, but for a quick glance at an appointment or the schedule, it does the trick. The interface is clean and easy to understand. Booking appointments takes no time, and being able to cancel due to no show is great, (this would be a great spot to remove the credit on file if a no show is checked). **What do you dislike about DaySmart Body Art?** I enjoyed using the forms for clients to book their appointments and add their info to our system, however, on the lowest package, this is not included so we had to create a third-party form and then manually add in the client's details. The cost difference is not worth the forms in my option as we did not require any of their other services included with the price. I also find the notes section for the appointment to be too short, so I can not tell the artist what the tattoo is in full detail but rather code talk. I ended up creating a third-party profile for all clients. My tattoo artist will go into that program and provide me pricing and time needed and from there I will email the client with that information. When they are ready to book and send their deposit, I will add them into the DaySmart Body Art software, apply their $ deposit as a credit on their account and then book them into the calendar. On the day of the appointment, my artist will review the third-party application to be reminded about the tattoo. She only checks DaySmart to see what appointment she has that day. I gave it an 8/10 because it works but it is missing some really key things when it comes to tattoo appointments. I think it could be clearer and much easier for all types of artists to use, making it the number one software for tattoo shops, especially if you are already booked til June 2022. Please keep in mind, I can only comment on the lowest-priced package. We are in Canada, so the exchange cost for the next package was not worth it for us, plus we were advised not all features work in Canada as this is a US company. **Recommendations to others considering DaySmart Body Art:** I think it is worth giving it a try, keep in mind that if you are outside of the USA to double-check what parts of the system work for you and what does not. Since we are in Canada we did not use their payment processing but still use the checkout feature. **What problems is DaySmart Body Art solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest problem that was solved for us was double bookings and confirming appointments. Before DaySmart, my artist was writing all her appointments in a notebook, she would forget to write one down and end up having two people show up. She hired me to get her shop organized and I researched a lot of systems before picking DaySmart. I choose them as they were really the only one that was focused on tattoos, so I knew they would be open to revamping the way their system was to make it more Tattoo Shop Friendly. And as time is going on I am seeing these changes come into effect. The largest benefit is being able to move appointments, review their replies to appointment reminders, and have a complete visual schedule for my artist to review from her hometown of Toronto and I am able to handle all bookings and cash out clients all the way in Vancouver. No more double bookings because of a notebook. No one can say they didn't know they had an appointment as we send both an email and text message 48 hours before. Not having to manually do that every day saves so much time. ### 2. The platform was a game-changer for me. **What do you dislike about DaySmart Body Art?** I don't like that pictures cannot be downloaded from the app to my phone or tablet and that multiple images can't be uploaded at once. The app can be a little clunky with moving appointments, but the desktop version is top-notch. **Recommendations to others considering DaySmart Body Art:** You will not be disappointed when adopting this powerful software. It is capable of so much and if you are a hungry business owner, it possesses all of the tools that you need to grow and stay on track **What problems is DaySmart Body Art solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use DaySmart Body Art to handle the schedules for multiple clients. Before this software, we were using iCalendar (which is AWFUL), Google Calendar or other apps. None of the other apps met all of our needs. We needed to use separate apps for appointment confirmations, photo collections, client information collection and more. This software handles all of that in one place. ### 3. It gives me a great visual of what's coming up. Being able to color code my appointments is a great visual too. **What do you dislike about DaySmart Body Art?** So far, the only downside that even slightly bothers me is the lack of an area in the contact to add an Instagram profile for my clients. Nearly 100% of my clientele comes from Instagram, and I believe it is a critical component of contact information for this day and age. I've submitted this and other ideas to the team to add potentially. I hope they look into some of them and add them in future updates. Also, a direct link to click their IG handle, where it opens the app and automatically brings you to their profile, would be stellar. **What problems is DaySmart Body Art solving and how is that benefiting you?** DaySmart Body Art helps me manage my clients, keeps in all within a single platform, and is easy to access from any device. There is no more writing it down on paper, losing physical notes, etc. ### 4.
