I find the redaction tools, which allow me to redact multiple files at once, very effective. The built-in AI chat bot is a great feature for on-demand support, and all necessary settings and tools are easily accessible, requiring minimal onboarding. Fast customer service is a huge plus—having a designated rep and live support staff available anytime has been incredibly valuable. The initial setup was incredibly quick, only taking minutes. If I am reviewing some data about contracts, I don't need a filter which refines and defines the currency that whether the contract value is in GBP or pound or INR. That filter really doesn't matter. What I would be most concerned about is having a filter that can help me differentiate on list all queries, like listing all the contracts which have a limitation of liability clause of two x. Datasite has the most robust feature set of any VDR I’ve worked with during diligence. It supports bulk downloads, lets you trim exported file names to comply with Microsoft limitations, and includes a helpful VDR visualizer. One feature I saw used recently and liked a lot is the “Q&A” tool, which lets you ask individual questions directly through the VDR and track what’s still outstanding, rather than exchanging emails with lists or attachments. As a service provider, we're not responsible for picking or choosing VDR's so I can't comment on the cost vs other VDR's but as far as capabilities, I'm always happy to see Datasite chosen. As for user engagement for a file, you can view both the user and change history of a document directly within the Documents tab by simply selecting the file with a check mark, and then selecting "Document History" without needing to be in the Analytics tab. The Settings tab also allows adjustments to the size and opacity for watermarks.
