It has reduced the workload required to provide the Executive Management Team the daily, weekly and quarterly information needed to run the business. **What do you dislike about Datarails?** The biggest downside with Datarails is the slow imtegration with Macbooks. It still works fine, but requires additional help from the Datarails team which has slowed our learning curve. With that said, the customer support has been quick and accurate. It has been greatly appreciated. **What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?** Datarails solves two problems, both are time and resource focused. First, Datarails delivers daily FA reports (dashboards) to the Executive Team and Sales Team. This is accomplished without the requirements of FA resources. Ryan , our customer success manager, has helped make the transition from offline excel reporting to Datarails in a few short weeks with fantastic results. Ryan is not just an advocate of Datarails but I consider him a business partner that has helped our company continue the offline excel transition to Datarails in our financial reporting and KPIs. The 2024 Annual Operating Plan was built with Datarails and the CFO was impressed with the robust financial model when compared with prior years. Datarails is always continuously improving its services and more importantly the ease of implementation was completed in a few weeks. I look forward to using the publishing features of Datarails in 2024 **What do you dislike about Datarails?** After talking with Ryan, our customer success manager, I was disappointed that I was unable to use the new budget module. However, Ryan provided an alternative suggestion that became a positive and a great win for the organization with the 2024 AOP. Don't be too quick in looking for a dislike of Datarails as your Customer success manager may offer a better solution. **What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are in the initial stages of implementing Datarails for the company. Once we have the baseline datasets created for the various stakeholders, then we can have readily available the preset features from DataRails such as dashboards, templates. Datarails will be a vast improvement from only working with Excel. That said, the busienss is outgrowing Excel based forecasting. We operating in four geographies and four currencies - consolidations were a nightmare. Datarails has taken a multi-day process and turned it into a multi-second process. Along the way, we've discovered problems and errors and fixed them. Sunlight is the best disinfectant and Datarails has been a blazing midday sun. **What do you dislike about Datarails?** The learning curve is steep. I wish there had been an option for a more immersive and intense learning process so that I could climb that curve more quickly. That said, much of the delays and roadblocks were on my company's end - nothign Datarails could have done to solve that. **What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Xero as our accounting backbone. We have 4 instances of Xero and 2 distinct charts of accounts. Monthly consolidations was a nighmare. Our impetus for signing up was principally to add some rigor to the monthly consolidations and cut out the inevitable human error while reducing the time investment. With the formulas being structured in a manner similar to Excel, it was extremely easy to dive right in to understand the formulas and know what to add and when. What used to take several hours to pull from our native ERP, now takes just minutes! The Datarails team has also been beyond helpful every step of the way. From the detailed walk through of the system when we were getting started, to how the data mapper works, guiding us as we try workflows on our own, to the incredibly fast response times with errors, Datarails has truly helped transform our reporting and what we're capable of doing in the most efficient manner possible. Additionally, Datarails has a dashboarding function that will only add to what we can achieve with self-servicable reporting to our leaders. **What do you dislike about Datarails?** I honestly can't think of anything I dislike about Datarails or wish was there. Datarails has made it so we can continually add different metrics or classifications as we evolve internally without losing any historical classifications along the way. So when I do monthly reports for 20 different people, each can toggle between managers or departments or regions WITHOUT me having to update 20 different files for each view. **What do you dislike about Datarails?** There are too many updates, and some of them I can ignore while others make Datarails stop working UNTIL update is completed. I have numerous folks who use the files, so from their perspective, the system doesn't work. Perhaps if an email was automatically sent to all users when an update is required, that would help. **What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before datarails, I had to individually update 20 different reports. I have seen improvements in our ability to take action on data as it lags less frequently. Widgets make it easy to customize and relay the data to our managers. I like that if I have an idea I can easily start working on it because the data is likely already there to manipulate. **What do you dislike about Datarails?** My experience with the engineering team was not great when we were setting up my data sources. They were abrasive when dealing with people from my custom data sources and not helpful to me setting in the process of setting things up. I was told onboarding process would be easy and it was anything but. I really enjoyed my time working with my first customer success manager, my second one has been not as present of a relationship. I have also had some frustrations with lack of support to solve my immediate needs. While the CSM was out the last few weeks, which I was unaware of, my only option has been emailing back and forth with Datarails support, or links to articles that didn't really answer my questions. Datarails is supposed to save me time, not waste it right? A 10 minute call with someone would've saved me a week plus of back and forth and gotten my business to a better place sooner. **What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using datarails is helping me get analysis completed and distributed faster, which lead to much quicker changes in spending in all aspects of business. The tool makes pulling in financial infomration so easy. It has extremely enhanaced our workstream. The drill down function is also incredible. Anytime there is a question into a certain GL account, it is extremely easy to pull the detailed list of all items adding up to those accounts. **What do you dislike about Datarails?** With larger files, the need to keep calculations on manual is a must sometimes so having the flip calculations to automatic does set me back a bit. I have found workaround to this issue and that being my only complaint, it is very minor! **What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?** Datarails saves so much time. Before we needed a million checks to make sure all the data was flowing in correctly. For a small team, it was a timely process. Now, what took us hours, now takes minutes. Once I completed the course, I felt completely lost when moving into the DR environment within my company. Part of the process involves consolidating the entities and pulling the data out of QBO. DataRails helped that process with the creation of a mapped chart of accounts to tie the fincials together and seemlessly pull the information in from multiple sources. The use of DataRails Excel plug-in allowed for free form reporting that could be refreshed as needed with relevant information and allowed for drill down to see the underlying information. Once set up and in place, DataRails saved a number of man hours that could be better used on strategic initiatives. The implementation team provided fantastic customer support. **What do you dislike about Datarails?** It is not an out of the box solution that can easily be set up on your own. The set up is involved and took some time to understand the construct and layout of the data being brought into DataRails. With that, the implementation team took the time to explain the process and how the functions work together. As the VP of Finance I always say if you work and live in excel, it's best to stay in excel! **What do you dislike about Datarails?** Managing the integrations and constantly updating is the most challenging at first. However, it's gotten easier with practice and continued use. In addition, my client manager at Datarails is always there when I need him (Ryan) and ensures I am fully knowledgeable of the process and the technical side of the system. **What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?** Datarails helped solved several major challenges we had at the organization. First, it allowed me to map out our financial statements in excel and with a push of a button I could get real-time up-to-date financial information in my financial statement format for either a month, quarter or in a yearly format. This made closing the books seamless and less time consuming. There are many great financial tools in the market, but Datarails is the market leader by a vast distance. No other service offering matches Datarails analytical functionality, white-glove customization, customer service, and visualization capabilities. **What do you dislike about Datarails?** It's so amazing. I wish we could also use it as our accounting system. **What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?** Datarails is an extension of our finance team. It allows us to share the financial results with enhanced visualization without spending hours in PowerPoint. It enables us to drill into the results to identify the impact on our monthly results at the lowest level. What takes minutes with Datarails will take days with using excel. It has streamlined our reporting processes and allowed us to understand and think of our business in a more fact-driven analysis. **What do you dislike about Datarails?** I wish we found DataRails sooner. The support team at Datarails has been outgoing and helpful every step of the way. **What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?** DataRails has allowed us to create better financial reporting templates we did not have before. From a forecasting/budgeting perspective, it has saved many work hours by having templates that remain consistent month over month.
