## Datarails Reviews
 ### 1. Datarails Streamlines Financial Reporting with Powerful Dashboards and Excel Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Monica P. | Finance Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

We’ve had a great experience using Datarails for financial reporting and dashboard visibility. The platform has helped streamline reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis while making data much easier to present to leadership and school stakeholders.

One of the biggest benefits has been the ability to centralize financial information into user-friendly dashboards that improve visibility into cash flow, budget variances, and overall financial performance. The Excel integration is especially valuable because it allows our team to continue working within familiar spreadsheets while gaining the benefits of automation and live reporting.

Datarails has also improved efficiency with board reporting and financial presentations by reducing manual preparation time and providing cleaner, more professional reporting outputs.

Overall, it has been a very useful tool for improving financial transparency, organization, and decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Absolutely nothing! Honestly, we have not experienced any major challenges with Datarails. The platform has been very helpful for financial reporting, dashboard visibility, and improving overall efficiency for our team. The integration with Excel and the ability to customize reporting has made the process smooth and user-friendly.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails has helped solve a lot of the inefficiencies that come with manual financial reporting and spreadsheet management. Before using the platform, a large amount of time was spent manually updating reports, consolidating data, and preparing dashboards.

With Datarails, much of that process is automated, which has significantly improved efficiency and reduced manual input and the risk of human error. The dashboard visibility has also been a huge benefit because it allows leadership and stakeholders to quickly review financial performance, variances, cash flow, and budget information in a much more organized and user-friendly way.

Overall, it has helped save time, improve reporting accuracy, and provide faster access to meaningful financial data for decision-making.

 ### 2. Efficient Financial Reviews with Seamless Integration and Incredible Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donavan L. | Program Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Datarails has been extremely helpful in providing a platform for us to review financial information more efficiently. The support staff has been incredible with impressive response and being helpful as we continue to implement the system more widely across our organization. The performance of the system has been very reliable and the integration between DataRails and our accounting system has been very seamless.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

I would like to see more AI features being incorporated into the product more reliably. There has been some attempts via the Story Board feature but if AI can be reliably integrated into the system for projections and certain process heavy tasks like budgeting it would take the product to a whole new level.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem that DataRails has helped me solve is being more efficient in translating financial information to non financial users. The dashboard features, version controls, ability to share information consistently has really improved our ability to create more timely decision making processes.

 ### 3. Highly Customizable Excel Integration with an Intuitive UI and Outstanding Onboarding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cody L. | Director of Finance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The high level of customizability and direct integration with Excel are by far the product's highest-ROI features. The ability to integrate Datarails into existing spreadsheets is amazing and the formulae perform perfectly.

The online platform has a really intuitive UI that is reminiscent of Excel and, so, easy to learn. The user experience is excellent as Datarails offers a bunch of additional reporting features and customization options above and beyond what Excel can do. Additionally, there's a built-in AI to help automate commentary onn reporting.

The onboarding process is easy as you are fullly supported by their onboarding team. They help and suppot you every step of the process and their performance is exemplary.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Nothing so far. Everything works exactly as good or even better than I'd hoped.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails is eliminating time spent building reports, time spent on data manipulation and removing obstacles to reporting to make it more real time and more meaningful.

 ### 4. Datarails Makes FP&A Faster with Seamless Excel Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fran K. | FP&A Specialist in Finance and Controling department, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

What I like about Datarails is how it makes FP&A work much more efficient without forcing teams to completely change how they work. The integration with Excel is a big advantage, since it allows you to keep the flexibility of spreadsheets while adding structure, automation, and better data control. It also simplifies reporting and consolidation, which saves a lot of time and reduces manual errors. Overall, it feels like a practical solution that actually fits into existing workflows instead of replacing them.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

There are still a few "bugs" that need to be fixed. Also, a lot of issues I can't do by myself, only with customer support, so it slows down the process, even tho the customer support is great and really responsive.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves us a lot of time. It saves time especially well in the "Members & Group" section, where we can easily give and change access to certain files for everyone.

 ### 5. Helpful for financial reporting, but implementation can be challenging

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amit S. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Datarails helps us organize and analyze financial data more efficiently, especially during the monthly close process. I mainly use it to analyze budget vs. actuals and to extract and structure data from SAP in a more convenient way.

It allows us to turn raw ERP data into clear and user-friendly reports and share financial insights with relevant stakeholders across the company. The ability to structure the data and present it in a way that supports decision-making is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The implementation process was quite long and sometimes complex. Many configurations cannot be done independently and require support from the Datarails team, which creates a dependency during the setup phase. We also experienced several technical issues during implementation.

In addition, we expected a more complete integration with banks. In practice, when working with different banks not all the data is available for extraction, so the functionality is still limited compared to what we initially hoped for.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails helps us manage and organize financial data that originally comes from our ERP system (SAP). Before using it, extracting and structuring the data for analysis and reporting required a lot of manual work.

With Datarails we can more easily pull data from SAP, structure it, and analyze budget vs. actual performance during our monthly close process. This helps us build clearer financial reports and share up-to-date information with relevant stakeholders across the company.

As a result, financial information is more accessible and easier to analyze, which improves visibility and supports better decision-making.

 ### 6. Flexible, Excel-Based Single Source of Truth That Transformed Our Reporting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Urvesh P. | Chief Financial Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The biggest strength of Datarails is its flexibility. Once you understand how the product works, it becomes incredibly powerful. It has enabled us to build a genuine single source of truth across CRM, finance, and HR systems.

The Excel foundation has been a major advantage for us. Rather than forcing significant change management, we enhanced an environment the business already understands, adding automation, control, and governance.

From an efficiency perspective alone, we’ve saved at least multiple days of rework per month — realistically close to one FTE’s worth of effort in a business of our size. But the bigger impact isn’t just time saved — it’s accuracy and insight. Having connected, structured data in one place has allowed us to generate insights we simply couldn’t before.

Most importantly, it has accelerated the maturity of the business. Instead of spending weeks pulling together one-off reports, we now have readily available, consistent performance data driving conversations in real time. That shift has been transformational.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

While the functionality is strong, dashboards are not the most user-friendly or dynamic compared to dedicated BI tools. That said, it is positioned as an Excel-based product, so this is partly expected.

The AI features are still in their early stages and not yet as impactful as they could be.

Board-level presentation output (e.g., pushing data into PowerPoint) could also be more developed and streamlined.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails solved three core problems for us: fragmented data, manual reporting effort, and lack of forecasting alignment.

Previously, data sat across CRM, finance, and HR systems, and pulling it together was manual, time-consuming, and prone to inconsistency. Reporting was often one-off and reactive. Datarails allowed us to integrate these systems and create a genuine single source of truth.

This has reduced significant rework (close to one FTE’s worth of effort), improved accuracy, and eliminated version-control issues. More importantly, it has connected sales leading indicators directly to financial forecasting, giving us faster, more reliable insight.

The biggest benefit has been maturity and speed. Instead of spending weeks assembling reports, we now have structured, real-time performance data that drives decision-making and forecasting with far greater confidence.

 ### 7. Datarails Makes Monthly Reporting and Budgeting Seamless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amari S. | Finance Business Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The product makes my monthly processes a lot easier. I hold management account meetings once a month and it allows me to pull numbers from the system with ease. We have just gone through our budget process using datarails and it has been one of the easiest processes. Everything gets consolidated automatically and we can do review of the figures very easily which makes things a lot more seemless. I also like how the older versions of the files are all hosted on the platform which means if theres a mistake you can roll back the file very easily

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

There are a few quirks. nothing that is system breaking but you definately need to learn how to use the systems before you have a full grasp of all the features.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As i mentioned earlier with our budget process it means that the numbers can be shared automatically and will update across all reports in the system meaning less time spent updating reports or recalculating overall figures. Also with monthly management accounts the numbers are available in a view on the system with the click of a button.

 ### 8. Seamless Excel Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom S. | FP&A consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Datarails’ biggest strength is how seamlessly it integrates with Excel, allowing us to retain the flexibility of familiar models while adding robust automation, version control, and consolidation capabilities. It significantly reduces manual effort at month-end, improves data consistency, and enables quicker, more accurate reporting and analysis.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

At times, data integrity still relies on manual intervention, particularly around mapping incomplete or inconsistent source data

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails is solving the challenge of consolidating and managing data from multiple sources while still allowing us to work within Excel. It reduces the need for manual data collection and consolidation, improves version control, and provides a more structured and consistent reporting process.

 ### 9. Quick, reliable, and need of the hour

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saba Z. | Manager Accounts, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The responsiveness of the customer success managers and the support teams is amazing. This is our third year of collaboration, and there hasn’t been a single day when I’ve had to worry about it. The reports are flawless, serve their purpose.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Some features, especially when working with exceptionally large datasets like ours, can take a few minutes to run. However, it doesn’t slow us down, and it doesn’t prevent us from completing large data tasks on time. An upgrade here would definitely add another star

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick consolidation across various entities.
Dashboards for various reports and the storyboards are a dream come true.
Extensive data management while preparing reports was a nightmare which is now quicker and less troublesome.
The report builder is fantastic in functionality and ease of use.

 ### 10. Automated Reporting and Widgets That Unify Data Across Systems

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I like that we have the ability to combine data from numerous software systems and create widgets and reports that are automated.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

There are a couple of features I dislike about datarails. I don't like that when you click on something it often opens a new browser tab. By the time I'm done working in Datarails I have 10+ tabs open. I also don't like that you can't see someone else working in the same document as you like you can in the online version of excel. This has created issues when two people are working on the same document at once. I also wish we had the ability to drill down into more widgets. I wish we could create widgets using multiple data tables.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving my lack of time issue. It is saving me a lot of time and human error by autopopulating reports based off of my data from many systems.

 ### 11. Great for Organizing Financial Data and Standardizing Excel-Based Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anmol S. | Senior Financial Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Datarails is a great tool to organize and report on the financial data of your organization. I appreciate how it can integrate with Excel so well. It has a multitude of helpful features, and I'm looking forward to using it to expand and standardize the reporting for my organization. Aggie has been a wonderful expert and teacher for the product.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Because of how in-depth the reporting can get, there is a bit of a learning curve/a significant amount of upfront time investment to learn the platform and validate the initial reports created.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails is helping us standardize our reporting and making it easier for us to see the various cuts of our data. With datarails, we will be able to create more impactful reporting for the team faster and more accurately.

 ### 12. A Game-Changer for Financial Consolidation and FP&A

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Datarails has completely transformed how we manage financial consolidation and reporting. The biggest advantage is having a true single source of truth—everything syncs seamlessly, and manual version control issues have virtually disappeared. The platform integrates smoothly with Excel, which makes adoption incredibly easy, and the automated data consolidation saves hours (sometimes days) of manual work. The dashboards and reporting tools are intuitive and allow for quick, accurate insights that support better decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

There’s a slight learning curve when setting up more complex models or custom reports, especially early on. That said, once you understand the structure, it becomes straightforward—and their support team is excellent at guiding you through anything tricky.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having 1 single source of truth for all information like financials and KPIs.
Excels no longer are huge files and not linked to multiple sheets which allows it to be quicker.
Rolling forward files becomes a lot easier and quicker.

 ### 13. Easy-to-Learn Excel-Based Platform, But Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Very Excel-friendly, which makes adoption easy for finance teams
Short learning curve compared to traditional FP&A tools
Saves time on manual data collection and version control
Good flexibility for customizing reports without heavy IT involvement

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

No native web forms for data input, which limits collaboration with non-finance teams
Heavy reliance on Excel formulas can make complex models harder to maintain
Forecasting and scenario planning features are somewhat limited
Occasional performance lag with large datasets

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails solves the challenge of managing fragmented financial data and manual reporting processes, especially in Excel-heavy environments. Before using it, a lot of time was spent consolidating data from multiple sources, dealing with version control issues, and manually updating reports.

With Datarails, data consolidation and reporting are largely automated, which reduces errors and saves significant time during month-end and budgeting cycles. It also improves visibility by centralizing financial data while still allowing us to work within Excel, which minimizes disruption to existing workflows. Overall, it has made our reporting process more efficient, more accurate, and less time-consuming.

 ### 14. Dashboards Make Sharing Financial Data with the Team Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michaele B. | CFO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The dashboards are my favorite part. They make it so much easier to share financial data with the team without having to rebuild everything each month.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Honestly, there's not much to complain about. There's a bit of a learning curve at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty smooth.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataRails has made it way easier to share financial data with the team. Instead of sending around static spreadsheets, we can pull up dashboards, and everyone gets the same view — saves a lot of back-and-forth.

 ### 15. Fast, easy data - all in one place

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward B. | Financial Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Having all of our data in one place - pulling from our ERP, data warehouses, and manual inputs - has been very useful and has significantly reduced the endless manual work the team used to do. There is little friction when setting up new inputs as the layout of the system is pretty user friendly. Files are read quickly by the system so we always have the latest data to hand in a few minutes. Setting up tables within excel is as easy and dragging and dropping your metrics in. We use DataRails daily for all of our financial reporting so we definitely make the most out of the price - customer support and online help is always quick to respond to any questions we have as well. AI integration is coming soon so we are excited to see the further insights it can bring.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

If your data infrastructure isn’t set up or maintained properly, it can create a lot of confusion within the team. That often means spending extra time searching for the right metrics and, in the worst case, reporting the wrong numbers. It’s up to our team to keep the mapping airtight; otherwise, it can quickly turn into a headache when you have to go back and rework the data structure.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We run all of our financial reports through DataRails, and we no longer have Google Sheets spread across a disorganised shared drive. This has sped up our reporting timelines and ensures all of our data is kept in one place, ready to hand whenever we need it.

 ### 16. Centralized Forecasting, Budgeting, and Consolidation Made Easy with DataRails

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

DataRails has been great as a centralized consolidation tool. The client we’re partnering with has ~125 employees spread across many departments, each with corresponding business leads. Being able to forecast, budget, and consolidate all of that information in a standardized format has been very helpful for keeping everything consistent and easier to manage.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

One downside I’ve noticed with DataRails is how much of the related work still lives in Excel. Whenever something needs to be adjusted in the data, it has to be done in Excel first. I think more cloud-based customizability would be beneficial.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Frank Filice has been great in helping with our system implementation. Integrating new technology into existing processes can be challenging, but Frank has been there every step of the way. He walked us through the installation process in detail and stayed flexible, jumping in to help with live troubleshooting as issues came up.

 ### 17. From Skeptic to Believer...

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen C. | Corporate Controller, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The platform's ability to centralize multiple data sources seamlessly. We integrated two EHR/ERP systems, Paycom for HCM, and two other applications, and Datarails was able to crosswalk our chart of accounts historically to connect financials and aggregate data without losing anything.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The UX sometimes gets glitchy when utilizing the 'Storyboards' narrative tool if you don't size or format the visuals to the board's native architecture.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an ASC with BI coming from multiple sources, we needed a platform that could truly integrate everything, not just promise it. Datarails centralizes our disparate systems, connected to historical financials, and is on its way to giving us a single source of truth for budgeting and forecasting. It's eliminated the manual visual build-out headaches and freed up time for actual FP&A discussions. The dashboards have also simplified executive visibility into key clinical and operational metrics, making it easier to keep leadership aligned without building custom reports from scratch.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you Stephen for the great review! Going from skeptic to believer is quite the journey, and we're glad Datarails delivered on all your needs. Integrations are one of our specialties!

We appreciate the feedback on Storyboards, and please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team if you run into any issues.

 ### 18. Datarails Transforms Financial Analysis with Powerful Data Mapping

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph L. | Director of Strategic Operations & Financial Analysis, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Previously, I worked at a company that had not invested in an FP&A tool, so I had to develop a complex mapping system in Excel to analyze month-end results and support better business decisions. Datarails has proven to be incredibly helpful in building that kind of mapping system, and with the right integrations, I am able to organize and examine my data exactly the way I need.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The only consideration is getting buy-in from your non-finance users and having them properly understand what datarails is. What pieces of info are real time and what needs an asterisk next to it until the month is finalized. What is the difference between an FP&A tool and a data warehouse, etc.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails has helped reduce the burden of repetitive monthly tasks that often lead to manual errors. Now, I can dedicate more time to identifying accounting mistakes during the close process and focus on analysis rather than just data production. This shift allows me to spend my time answering questions that drive high-impact work. In essence, I am able to truly perform my FP&A role, rather than getting bogged down in the time-consuming, bare-minimum workflows.

**Official Response from Annie Miller:**

> Thanks for taking the time to share, Joseph! We’re glad Datarails is helping you build the kind of flexible data mapping you need and giving you more control over how you analyze your results. It’s great to hear it’s reducing manual work and freeing you up to focus on high-impact FP&A work instead of repetitive tasks.

 ### 19. Transformative Financial Insight with Streamlined Automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Datarails is quickly proving itself to be a transformative tool for any organisation that relies on accurate, timely financial insight. Its real strength lies in how effectively it cuts through the delays and blind spots created by manual processes. By streamlining data collection and automating calculations, it frees teams from time‑consuming tasks and replaces them with clear, reliable visibility into the numbers that matter.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

I've not experienced negative blocks from Datarails as yet, my own restriction is my lack of experience around building new reports but this is my own development to concentrate on.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its unify information across departments, creating a single, consistent source of truth that supports better decision‑making at every level. Previously teams worked in isolation without consideration of the wider business functionality or performance.

 ### 20. Datarails is an excellent tool for automating financial reporting package

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave N. | VP of Finance, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Datarails offers a seamless integration with Quickbooks online. It allows me to have complete access to all of my financial accounting information directly in Excel, as well as on the web-based portal.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Nothing of note, it's a great tool for enhancing and automating reporting. The only feature I would like improvements on is speed and nimbleness of drill down functionality.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I joined my current organization, the financial reporting was a compilation of literally dozens of exported reports from Quickbooks Online. It was very manual and time intensive. With Datarails, this process was eliminated and we're able to refresh our reporting with a few clicks, allowing for more time to review the numbers themselves

 ### 21. Excellent Support and Real-Time Reporting with the Excel Add-In

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The customer experience at Datarails has been excellent. From initiation and data integration to going live, I have found our contacts have been very helpful and responsive whenever we have a query. Always fixing, recommending a fix or directing us to Datarails education sources which has been very beneficial.

Datarails has enabled us to do real time updates on our reporting really easily through the excel add in. This has sped up all of report generation and presentations to management.

The drill down function has been particularly helpful as any questions raised, using this functions allows us to get to an answer quickly.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

At times, I found the initial data input a bit confusing. As datarails wants to show everything in a format that is 'positive' on the balance sheet, the concept of the multiplying the liabilities by -1 to get to this was a bit difficult initially and also meant it was a bit difficult to tie back to internal reports as the signage was changed. However, I do understand why this is being done for presentational reasons.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to use Datarails to create all of the reports we had existing which was great as for management this was a seamless transition from our old software. It is easy to create new reports and I would recommend Datarails as software. The real time nature of Datarails has also been hugely beneficial especially at month end. We are also able to compare to budgets/ forecasting relatively easily.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> It is great to hear that the implementation process went smoothly and that our team proactively helps answer questions as they come up. We love that the Excel add in and drill down capabilities have helped speed up reporting and make it easier to answer questions in real-time.

Regarding the balance sheet signage, we get it. It can take a moment to get used to the positive presentation and the use of the -1 multiplier when first working with the data. We do our best to keep the experience as close to Excel as possible, though there are a few technical constraints behind the scenes that require this approach. Luckily, most teams find that once they get used to it, it becomes second nature.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback and experience!

 ### 22. Flexible, Excel-Friendly, Great visualization with Helpful Drill-Downs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I like the flexibility and familiarity of Datarails, especially since it works seamlessly with Excel sheets. Being able to drill down into the details without having to log in to a different system—both from the dashboard and directly in Excel—is really helpful. I also appreciate that it comes with illustrations, which is a great touch.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Sometimes Datarails has downtime, or what seem like bugs. When that happens, I have to close all the files and restart my laptop to get things working again. It would also be great if Datarails had customer support and a developer team based in Asia, so it’s easier to connect with them and resolve issues more quickly.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far, it hasn’t been a problem, but our Datarails implementation was done fairly quickly and without fully thinking through what might come up later. As a result, we’re not able to use Datarails to its full capability in my current company.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> It's great to hear that working in Excel and being able to drill into details from both dashboards and spreadsheets has been helpful for your workflow.

Regarding occasional downtime or issues, we appreciate you mentioning this. If something like this happens again, your Customer Success Manager or our support team can usually help troubleshoot quickly.

While we may not always be in the same region, our Customer Success and support teams work across multiple time zones, so there is almost always someone available to help. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review!

 ### 23. Real-Time Multi-Source Sync with Flexible Outputs and Strong Excel Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen D. | AVP FP&A and Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I am enjoying the syncing of multiple data sources and having access to them in real time. The option to output data in multiple formats such as visualizations, reports, and storyboards is great. Lastly, the integration with Excel is unlocking powerful leverage from our data and combining it with the functionality of Excel.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The pricing structure of seat types is challenging. I would love viewer seats in bulk so outputs can be distributed without limiting workarounds. On the foundational side, it’s challenging that changes to data mappers are not automatically updated through out existing dashboard and reports.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails has eliminated the time burden of updating dozens of worksheets and producing meaningful data visualizations that did not previously exist.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you Stephen for the thoughtful review! We are glad to hear that real-time multi-source syncing, flexible outputs, and the Excel-native integration are making a real difference for your team.

If you want to distribute outputs to non-viewers, Datarails has a solution for that. The recommended option is Export as Values, which converts the sheet to static values so it can be viewed without platform access. Check out the link below for details, and if you are not seeing that option, your Customer Success Manager can quickly show you how it works.

We would also love to connect on the Data Mapper feedback, as there may be some dashboard settings around automatic date updates that could resolve this. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager and we will make sure you are getting the most out of the dashboards.

 ### 24. Effortless Implementation and Seamless Excel Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** greg q. | Senior Financial Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

We are currently in training mode in our data rails journey. The ease of use and implementation are big stand outs for me. Along with the seamless integration into and with Excel. With a working understanding of Access, Pivot Tables and other more advanced Excel data calculations, the potential of Data Rails to assist us in delivering accurate and end user focused solutions.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

There is an element of coding (and understanding the coding logic & infrastructure) with which I need to familiarize me with. This is to be expected and it's not really a "dislike" per se but it is - initially - a challenge. I also would prefer to NOT be the person controlling the mouse during training as I find myself clicking to keep the sessions going rather than taking notes, minor but noteworthy.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have an antiquated accounting system (MIP) and a very static, excel based financial reporting system. So, Datarails is changing that by making it more dynamic and interactive. It is also giving us an insight into future reporting that is not bound my the above limits and allowing for more creative thinking about how do and how we will posit future financials for our organization.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you for such a positive review, Greg! It is great to hear that the ease of implementation and Excel integration are standing out, and we love that you are already thinking creatively about future reporting possibilities.

On the coding logic, that learning curve is completely normal and you are not alone in feeling it early on. It is worth checking out our new built-in AI Assistant for Custom Columns, which can help make that side of things feel a lot more approachable. Check it out in the resource link below.

Regarding the training sessions, the hands-on approach is intentional so you get the most out of each session. Our pro tip is if you request AI summaries to be added to your sessions, you can stay fully engaged and still walk away with great notes afterwards. Onwards and upwards, Greg!

 ### 25. Innovative, User-Friendly Experience with a Responsive Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Datarails feels genuinely innovative and well thought out. It’s also very user-friendly, and overall the experience is easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

I wouldn’t say there are any real downsides to Datarails. For the most part, it’s just been a few feature requests we’ve made, but the Datarails team always takes our suggestions into consideration and lets us know they’re adding them to their list of feature requests.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s helping us streamline and automate our processes, so we can spend less time on routine tasks and more time digging in to understand the “why.” That leads to better insights into the company and, ultimately, better decisions.

 ### 26. Impressive Speed and Drill-Down Reporting That Makes Day-to-Day Finance Easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The speed at which you can pull data and slice and dice it from our financial system is impressive. It’s given us the ability to create reports and roll-ups that would have been a distant dream in the past. It did take us a while to get used to, and we’ve been using it while also building our budget within it, but now I KNOW it’s going to make our day-to-day so much easier going forward. I also LOVE that you can drill into balances to get transactional-level detail, rather than having to go back to our system to analyse it. WIN WIN! Our implementation provider Mihir was excellent and so helpful at taking our dilemmas about how to do something in Datarails and giving us a practical method

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

It’s really annoying that Datarails is so sensitive to capitalization and lowercase. I wish it could simply default the parameters to one or the other, so I don’t have to worry about case differences.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’ve just integrated two companies and now have a global footprint. Datarails is allowing us to easily consolidate that data and slice and dice it across different parameters—something we would not have been able to do before.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you so much for this wonderful review! It is great to hear that Datarails has helped transform the way your team handles financial reporting. Being able to quickly pull, slice, and dice data, and drill all the way down to transactional detail, is exactly what we built it for.

We'll definitely pass your kind words on to Mihir. It is great to hear he made such a positive impact during your implementation and helped turn your challenges into practical solutions. We are lucky to have him on the team!

Looking forward to continuing to support your team with Datarails.

 ### 27. Effortless Report Consolidation and Streamlined Workflows

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel M. | Finance Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

One of the standout features of Datarails is its ability to consolidate multiple reports from a variety of sources. Whether you are working with dashboards or financial statements—customized or standard—everything can be updated quickly and efficiently, as long as the data mapping is set up correctly and the data flows automatically. My favorite feature is the Workflows function, which lets me assign tasks to several stakeholders. They can make their updates, submit their work, and then I can review everything before finalizing the report. This process is especially helpful for conducting monthly forecasts, particularly when a SIOP process is integrated.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

If the data sources structure change, the mapping needs to be redone.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Be able to automatically have data flowing through the P&L with sources coming from 2 ERP systems, manual spreadsheets, multiple payroll data sources, several business units, etc. It is excellent for consolidation, reporting, and to apply workflows for forecasting and budgetting.

 ### 28. Native Excel Integration with Strong Governance and Faster FP&A Reporting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis C. P. | Head of Group Planning, Analytics & Systems, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

- Native Excel integration preserves existing workflows while adding robust data governance
- Automated consolidation eliminates manual errors from multi-entity reporting
- Audit trail and version history provide the controls our compliance team requires
- Pre-built templates accelerate time-to-value for standard FP&A use cases
- Cloud-based architecture ensures data is always current across the organizati

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

- Getting everything set up takes some upfront investment of time
- Took a few weeks to fully explore all the features
- Would love more flexibility in some of the dashboard customization options

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our team is faster, our reports are cleaner, and leadership actually trusts the numbers now.

 ### 29. Effortless Data Consolidation and Manipulation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Connor M. | Financial Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

It is manipulatable and allows for quick data consolidation once you are in place with correct accounting and querying that all business's likely have to perform before consolidating multiple business enterprise systems into a common ground in Datarails.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

One thing that we've found to be a bit of a pain is creating custom columns with more than one function and or condition in the same column. Found that Datarails does not like IF statements with multiple conditions on them, for example saying if blank return value then if not value return "Other" we had to parse this out between two custom columns which makes things a bit convoluted.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails is now allowing us to report using one system rather than having to log in and pull reports from 6 different places which is extremely time consuming.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you for the great review, Connor! Going from logging into six different systems down to one is exactly the kind of win we love to hear about.

On the custom columns, we consider breaking out complex IF statements into multiple columns to be best practice. Keeping the logic simple and separated makes formulas easier to follow, audit, and troubleshoot down the line. That being said, our new built-in AI Assistant for Custom Columns is worth trying and may make the process feel a lot more intuitive. Feel free to check it out below and reach out with questions!

 ### 30. Powerful Data Mapping Transformed Our Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brad B. | Assistant Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The data mapping functionality is a really great way to get your data into a structured table setup that you can access anywhere in Datarails or Excel. We were able to update our GL posting processes to include more detailed descriptions and map those descriptions split by delimiter to the fields we wanted in datarails. We now can instantaneously report on all of our expenses by vendor when that could not easily be done before because of the data being segregated and in different formats.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

There should be a simpler way to ensure that signage remains consistent across different data sources. Datarails ought to provide a clear standard for signage conventions when importing data, and it should notify users if the inputs do not follow this standard during the setup of a new data source. Additionally, Datarails should make it straightforward to adjust signage in outputs, such as reports and dashboards, as needed. For example, we wanted all our reports to display Revenues as positive numbers and Expenses as negative. Although we standardized our data mappings, we still encountered issues because working with multiple data sources with inconsistent signage required extra effort to correct and align the signs. Furthermore, when building dashboards, there was no simple way to toggle graphs so that expenses would increase from left to right above the axis. The current workaround is to create an additional amount field that converts expenses to positive values, but this approach is not ideal.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails is helping us build our financial reporting package by consolidating data from multiple ERP systems, which enables us to drill down into the details and better understand the reasons behind changes in balances. We are now able to generate location-level reports, something we had not done previously, and also create KPIs specific to those locations. This gives our decision makers the ability to make informed choices directly from the data, without needing to rely on ad-hoc data requests from Finance, which were sometimes delayed or not always accurate.

 ### 31. Automates Reporting and Forecasting with Real-Time Financial Visibility!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

- Saves Time – Automates manual spreadsheet tasks, reducing time spent on data consolidation and reporting.
- Improves Accuracy – Minimises human error by centralising data and standardising financial models.
- Better Visibility – Gives real‑time access to financial performance, trends, and KPIs.
- Enhanced Collaboration – Teams can work from one version of the truth rather than sending spreadsheets around.
- Fast Reporting – Produces management reports and dashboards quickly and consistently.
- Scenario Planning – Makes forecasting and what‑if analysis easier and faster.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

- Slow Refresh Times – Large datasets or complex models can cause delays when syncing or refreshing.
- Dependent on Excel – Because it layers on top of Excel, issues in spreadsheets can still cause problems

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Any issues we flag we raise to our CSM who regularly provides updates on any known issues / bugs.

 ### 32. Flexible, Feature-Rich FP&A Platform That Centralizes Planning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elizabeth L. | FP&A Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

It’s a centralized FP&A system that’s very flexible and offers a wide range of features.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The setup is significant, and there’s a somewhat steep learning curve.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails is helping us address challenges with version control, manual consolidation, and the lack of a single source of truth across our forecasting and reporting processes. Previously, we relied heavily on multiple Excel files connected through manual links, which led to inefficiencies, increased the risk of errors, and made it difficult to maintain consistency across our outputs.

 ### 33. All Our Budget Numbers in One Easy-to-Share Worksheet

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The best thing about Datarails is that I can keep all my budget numbers in a single worksheet, which is easy to share with others

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

I like having all my numbers in one worksheet, but I don’t like that every time I update budget numbers I have to download and then resubmit the worksheet. It would be really helpful if there were a way to enter my updated numbers directly in Datarails, without needing to download and submit the file each time.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails has helped us keep everything in one document, with only one version of the budget. In previous years, we ended up with multiple budget versions, and when updates were made in one place, they weren’t necessarily reflected everywhere else.

 ### 34. Efficient Data Integration, Needs Dashboard Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I use Datarails to analyze data at my company, which has over $4B in Assets Under Management. I appreciate how it helps me quickly pull data from different buildings into one Excel file. If I didn't have Datarails, I wouldn't be able to pull financial data from over a hundred buildings in a single file. What stands out to me is the ability to have multiple data sources and connect them all together. It's especially nice for us when dealing with Nursing Home Provider data, which we can link to financial data from our nursing homes through the same ID. Being able to connect multiple data sources quickly is extremely valuable as it saves a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The main room for improvement at Datarails is the dashboards. We have created multiple dashboards in Excel, which we have pushed to the web environment. However, it takes way too long to refresh once you filter to different portfolios or facilities. We have brought this up to the Customer Success Manager, and it appears that Datarails is working on a fix.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Datarails to quickly pull data from different buildings into one Excel file and connect multiple data sources, which saves a lot of time.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> We are so glad to hear Datarails is helping your team create a single source of truth while continuing to work in Excel, and that bringing together data from so many buildings and sources is saving you time.

It is also great to see you making use of custom dashboards and the ability to filter across portfolios and facilities. With that level of flexibility and data volume, performance can sometimes depend on the complexity of the underlying model.

We always appreciate hearing how we can improve, so please keep sharing feedback with your Customer Success Manager. Our team is always happy to help find the best solution for your use case. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience.

 ### 35. Great for ERP Data Automation, But Online Setup Can Be Complex

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan P. | Manager, FP&A, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

- Automating the aggregation of ERP data between different systems.
- Provides useful pre-built financial templates.
- Allows user to work within familiar Excel environment and manually manipulate data.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

- Online environment feels complex at first, especially with locating and navigating data sources.
- Relinquish a bit of autonomy by no longer keeping aggregation and calculation of data fully in-house.
- Can be dependent of buy-in and acumen of IT team, creating a stakeholder that needs to help but does not see a lot of benefit.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails is putting our three entities' data on a consolidated chart of accounts and providing us with consolidated / entity specific financials. Their use of best practices ensures our data is formatted optimally and can scale with additional acquisitions.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you for the thoughtful review Evan! It is great to hear that ERP data automation, pre-built templates, and the Excel-native experience are delivering value, and that Datarails is helping consolidate multiple entities optimally.

On the IT dependency point, we would love to understand more about what is requiring IT involvement on your end. Datarails is designed to be far less dependent on IT than most platforms, so please reach out to your Customer Success Manager to see if we can find a simpler path for your team.

As always, please reach out if there is anything we can help with!

 ### 36. Dynamic Reporting That Refreshes and Updates Effortlessly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rhys M. | FP&A Accountant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The dynamic reporting. Being able to just refresh a report and have the figures update and new accounts appear.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The manual syncing with Xero. Due to the limitations of how much data can be synced a day with Xero, we can always sync on demand for our main entity.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Month end reviews with managers. The dashboard capabilities has made it really easy to create valuable insights into profit analysis. Also being able to build in depth P&L reports using the Datarails templates.

 ### 37. A Whole New World!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul S. | Financial Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Using a familiar platform like Excel makes everything more intuitive and easy to create the reports and dashboards you need.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Nothing so far! Everything is working the way I expected.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Combining a number of reporting and forecasting systems into one place. It has also enabled us to report across multiple data sources much easier.

 ### 38. Data Rails Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I like that it is intuitive, I understand how the data flows, and it speeds up our month end reporting and budgeting processes

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

There are some items that would be helpful if data rails could do

For example:

-Writing formulas in the data mapper: Why can't these be made to be consistent with excel formulas. It makes it hard to teach the whole team how to map in data when there are nuances like having two equal signs on an IF statement
- When using DR.GET formulas to pull data into workbooks, I wish there was the ability to exclude a certain field similar to the DR.Include parameter

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A big item i see is it will improve our ability to forecast in a timely matter for decision making

 ### 39. Datarails Bridges Excel and FP&A with Clear, Easy Financial Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

Datarails does a great job of bridging the gap between MS Excel users and FP&A users. It builds on Excel’s strengths so end users can easily enter data, review it, and visualize financial information in a way that’s clear and easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The Dr.Get formulas can be a little tricky at times, depending on how detailed you need the information to be. But this is easy to overcome over time.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’re currently in the middle of an ERP implementation, and Datarails has been the bridge we rely on to consolidate all of our financials and budgeting in one place.

 ### 40. Excel Integration That Makes Reporting and Dashboards Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The Excel integration is a big one for me it didn't force us to abandon the way we already work, it just made it better. Consolidating data from multiple sources used to eat up so much time, and now reporting feels a lot more manageable. The dashboards are also a nice touch when presenting to stakeholders. On top of that, the customer support has been amazing. Jodat in particular was fantastic incredibly patient and walked us through the entire process without making us feel rushed at any point.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Some of the widgets are a bit restrictive when it comes to formatting things like font size and style aren't always customizable the way you'd expect. The KPI widgets in particular can be frustrating to get looking consistent across a dashboard. It's not a dealbreaker, but for something client-facing or exec-level, those small visual details do matter.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As someone in FP&A, budget vs actuals visibility used to require a lot of manual pulling and piecing together of spreadsheets. Datarails has made it much easier to see where we stand at any given point in the month without waiting for everything to be manually updated. It's saved real time and reduced the back-and-forth that used to slow down our planning cycles.

 ### 41. Effortless Financial Reporting and Enhanced Visibility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I really appreciate the structure and logic built into the platform. In my opinion, this solution is excellent, especially considering that Netsuite is not the most user-friendly ERP when it comes to reporting. This tool has truly opened up new possibilities for visibility in reporting. What I like most is how easy it is to generate a Flash Report of the financials and how quickly we can dive into specific details.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

There are a few technical issues I've encountered. For instance, with some reports, certain rules only apply if we download the files and refresh them in Excel, or sometimes they need to be recalculated directly on the platform. This can make the process more time-consuming, as it requires additional validations. I also find it frustrating when more than two people are working on the same Excel file—it becomes nearly impossible to manage, especially when refreshing or submitting files. Another thing I don't like is having to constantly download files from Datarails, which results in multiple copies of the same file. I realize this might partly be my own fault, but it's something that bothers me because it makes it hard to keep track of different versions.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Once we have our output files, it becomes very easy to pull financials instantly. Also, getting detailed information per account across several periods makes my job much simpler, as I can quickly spot deviations or potential errors. Personally, I am now able to provide information much faster. My next goal is to make greater use of the charts and begin customizing reports, so we can elevate our company reporting to the next level.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you for the thoughtful review! It is great to hear that Datarails has opened up new reporting possibilities, especially coming from NetSuite, and that our automated reporting and drill-downs are making your day-to-day so much faster.

On the recalculation issue and multiple file copies, Datarails updates changes across connected files in real time and has version control built in. If you are experiencing inconsistencies, it may be worth checking whether files are being opened from saved desktop versions rather than downloaded directly from the platform. If that is not the case, your Customer Success Manager can help troubleshoot and share some pro tips on keeping reports organized.

We love the ambition to dive deeper into charts and custom reports. We're always adding new features and capabilities to our dashboards, which can really take your company reporting to the next level, so exciting times ahead! As always, please reach out if there is anything we can help with.

 ### 42. Effortless Consolidation Across Multiple QB Instances

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim F. | Chief Financial Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The ability to consolidate and report on the nine separate instances in QB's online that I have. This platform was a way for me to keep the accounting systems in place without having to do a very costly implementation to a more robust platform.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

I'm only getting done with the implementation as I write this and don't have negatives to speak of but I can say that on report editing and dynamic ranges, etc. it appears to require far more education on formula creation, etc for even a day to day excel user.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to stay with the current accounting system that is fine for our needs but giving the ability to consolidate and analyze data on the DR platform.

**Official Response from Annie Miller:**

> Thanks for the thoughtful review, Jim! We're happy to hear Datarails is helping you consolidate and analyze your data while keeping your existing accounting systems.

 ### 43. Datarails is user-friendly with drillable dashboards but limited for non-QBO data.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Romelie A. | Fund Accountant II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

What I like best about Datarails is its drillable capability, which makes analyzing data much easier and more efficient. I also appreciate how simple it is to create widgets once the data is datamapped. Lastly, the support chat is excellent—whenever I encounter an issue, the team is always helpful in providing solutions.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Creating dashboards or widgets using data outside of QBO can be challenging. The platform isn’t flexible enough to build tables with multiple columns pulling from different data sources. In addition, when comparing actuals and budgets (e.g., monthly from Jan to Sep), there’s no option to show separate grand totals. Currently, the grand total column combines both actuals and budgets, but it would make more sense to have one total for actuals and another total for budgets.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails helps consolidate and analyze financial data easily, allowing me to create drillable dashboards and gain insights faster. It also makes budgeting much easier and more organized, improving reporting efficiency and decision-making.

 ### 44. User-friendly platform that seamlessly transforms complex financial data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Izabella P. | Financial Operations Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

One of Datarails' most significant strengths is its capacity to translate complex information into a clear and concise format. The dynamic dashboard and storyboard capabilities are game-changing, providing a new level of financial understanding across the team. Our data accuracy and reporting efficiency are greatly enhanced by the platform's ability to integrate directly with our online accounting software for real-time data use.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Since I'm a new user, I haven't encountered any significant dislikes yet, though the initial learning curve has been noticeable as I get familiar with the platform

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communicating numbers in a visually accurate way for users to understand as well as cutting down hours of manual work to accomplish this.

**Official Response from Annie Miller:**

> Thank you for sharing, Izabella! We’re glad Datarails is helping turn complex data into clear, actionable insights for your team, and that the integrations and streamlined reporting are saving you time and making it easier to communicate the numbers.

 ### 45. Great Excel Integration That’s Easy to Pick Up

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

- Excel integration is great - it works alongside our current models and is very easy to pick up
- Good customer support with a dedicated account manager looking after you
- Straightforward to use so less issues with excel formula gremlins and bugs
- Takes the automation out of work and allows us to value add

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

- Datarails formulas can be quite tricky to write initially to pull out the info you're looking for
- Whilst it works for us, the product does feel quite pricey

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our Board reporting has historically taken a lot of time to finalise in month end. Using Datarails, it has made the process significantly faster and allowed us to focus more on value add activities during a busy time of the month

We have previously used excel to consolidate / bring together results - using Datarails has meant that there are less mistakes coming out of the woodwork due to excel formulas breaking etc

 ### 46. Powerful Consolidation for Complex Multi-Layered Business Models

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

The ability to consolidate a complex multi-layered business with individual models. The potential to do more is very high aswell.

We had some issues with lack of support and this was rectified quickly and the team was helpful.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

Our company structure has changed and this was a complex to adjust due to the set up and also as I stepped into something that was already built.

There are still some manual data dumps, I am unsure of why this was done, but something that could be resolved.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handling incredibly large volumes of data to provide detailed models.

Consolidating a multi-segmented business into one streamlined model.

Handling multiple scenarios for multiple models.

 ### 47. Effortless Budgeting and Forecasting provide financial visibility for Project Engineers and Managers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

A few of the most helpful things about Datarails is the budget viewing, but also the forecasting. My role as a project engineer for my company tasks me with developing budgets for the project, but also tracking that spend as we progress through. The ease of seeing how much we have spent so far and how much we will be spending in the months moving forward, allows me to communicate with our finance team to ensure funding is where it needs to be when. The ease of integrating a traditional excel spreadsheet with a web based platform is super neat. For me this will just be 1-4 projects, but for our finance team managing scores of projects around the globe, this will be paramount.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The setup process is not super straightforward. If I didn't have an expereinced person guiding me on the first few, I would struggle a bit.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Death by excel spreadsheet, haha. Excel does it what it does well, but it would take an immense amount of setup and data management to transfer that forecasting for multiple projects in multiple regions.

**Official Response from Annie Miller:**

> We hear you on the "death by spreadsheet" - that's exactly what we're here to help with! So glad Datarails is making it easier to manage budgets and forecasts across your projects and giving you clearer visibility with your finance team. Thank you for sharing, and we’re always here if you need anything along the way!

 ### 48. Robust Reporting with Seamless QBO Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael G.

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I really like Datarails' integration with QuickBooks Online (QBO), which allows me to customize reports and drill down into more detailed analyses. I also enjoy the month-over-month variance analysis capabilities and the ability to integrate with Gusto, our labor platform, to develop comprehensive labor hours graphs, including direct, PTO, and overtime hours. Furthermore, the initial setup of Datarails was very easy, thanks to the excellent support provided by Ayelet, who was instrumental in getting me up to speed quickly and efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

I am frustrated that many features aren't available in our current plan, which limits our ability to fully utilize Datarails. Additionally, we are restricted to only having 5 licenses, which can be a limitation for our team.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Datarails for robust monthly reporting and detailed drill-down graphs. It connects to QBO and Gusto, allowing for customized reporting and variance analysis. It's especially useful for creating labor hours graphs, enhancing our data insights.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you Ryan for the wonderful review! Seamless integration with platforms like QuickBooks Online and Gusto is something we take great pride in, so it is fantastic to hear that the variance analysis, drill-downs, and labor hours graphs are delivering real value for your reporting.

Regarding features, as your needs grow we can always build a more robust plan to scale with you. Feel free to reach out to your Customer Success Manager to explore what that could look like.

It is also wonderful to hear such kind words about Ayelet. We are glad she made the onboarding experience so smooth and efficient, and we will make sure to pass that along to her!

 ### 49. Transforms Financial Reporting with Seamless Excel Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven K.

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Datarails?**

I like Datarails because it allows me to work directly within Excel, making it easier to view data from my accounting ERP without having to download and manually map reports. I find the ability to drill down into underlying data within Excel really convenient. Additionally, the customer service is excellent and very helpful, which made the initial setup worth the time investment. The logic used to build formulas is intuitive, like a super flexible pivot table for my ERP.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

The need to manually refresh every time something changes is mildly frustrating.

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails allows me to consolidate financial data live from two accounting systems, view it in my desired format within Excel, and drill down into data without switching back to my ERP.

**Official Response from Chanel Itzhaki Ganor:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience. We love hearing that working directly in Excel and connecting to your ERP has made it easier to access and analyze your data. The ability to drill into underlying details while avoiding manual downloads is exactly the type of workflow Datarails is designed to support. It's great to hear that our Customer Success team helped make the setup process worthwhile.

Regarding refreshes, we understand it can feel like an extra step at times, but it ensures the data in Excel stays accurate and up to date with your source systems.

We appreciate the feedback and always enjoy hearing how customers are using Datarails. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review.

We consolidated our core platforms into a unified system, enabling cross-channel functionality and data integration that previously wasn’t possible.

**What do you dislike about Datarails?**

So far, I don’t have any complaints. I’m really enjoying it!

**What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datarails is helping us bring three websites together, which gives us a clearer view of our data and makes it much easier to understand and work with.
