Sometimes the recommendations aren't always the best, it takes another set of eyes to review.

We are working on creating inclusive job descriptions to encourage people to apply and NOT be scared off by words that aren't encouraging.

**What do you like best about Payscale JobNav Recruiter?**

Datapeople made it extremely easy to update and modify some stale job descriptions. They helped edit the content in a way that was easy to use and understand while making it approachable to a wider audience. They kept me updated on edits progress to get to a score that was an appropriate measure for publishing.

**What do you dislike about Payscale JobNav Recruiter?**

There were some lines that seemed to auto-correct as I put in specific criteria in some areas. I don't know if that was a feature or a glitch but even after going back a retyping it the same lines seemed to auto-correct out on multiple job posts.

**What problems is Payscale JobNav Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are looking to hire more diversely, so language that sometimes feels natural to use like corporate jargon and team-specific names is highlighted as non-essential. Hopefully, we will see results from the refreshed JDs soon.

Datapeople helps identify ways to make your publications more inclusive. Your writing style might inadvertently turn some candidates away. It's great to have "another pair of eyes" that helps you improve your overall JD and employer branding.

At times the tool can identify phrases and wording that is less inclusive without providing common alternatives or suggestions. It makes you brain-storm to try and get a message across in a well-received, engaging, and non-biased manner.

Usability - easy to read and format. Only takes a few minutes to begin working through it. I also like the way it explains the suggestions and rationalizes the benefit of being more inclusive.

**What do you dislike about Payscale JobNav Recruiter?**

There is no way to inform the tool that its suggestions are "wrong." Some language cannot be changed without innately changing the description of the role. This is particularly true for very technical roles where some of the languages refers to coding languages, tools, or industry-known acronyms. I wish we could click a button to add certain phrases as a stored database.

**What problems is Payscale JobNav Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't personally have enough data to answer this. Its intent is to increase our diversity pipeline by making our language more inclusive. I would need more time to assess the tool to see against previous tools/processes, are we seeing a growth in diversity representation in inbound apps and throughout the hiring process.

Datapeople helps to provide suggestions to make your job descriptions inclusive. There are some great features that allow for suggestions on wording, where to remove unnecessary words, and much more.

Sometimes Datapeople suggests that you remove terms but they do not provide alternate terms to replace the original term with. When doing so, the sentences may no longer make sense.

Datapeople helps me ensure that the job postings are inclusive and will encourage candidates to apply. They help suggest words that are more inclusive and more inviting to candidates.

Help us come across as less generic in our job postings as well as detailing why certain words or phrases come across as exclusionary and therefore prohibit us from appealing to a wider audience.

Sometimes the AI suggests removing crucial detail specific to the role and provides alternative synonyms that don't fit within the context of the post.

The main benefit is helping us acknowledge the unconscious biases in our language and giving us the reasons why these words don't appeal to the broadest possible audience.

Keeping it short and simple. Candidates rarely need a laundry list of responsibilities. I see the JD as a tool for advertising the role to potential candidates rather than as an exhaustive list of roles and responsibilities.  In that light, one might be able to boil down the responsibilities to just 3-5 bullets that sell the role a little more and datapeople helps you cut the fluff, use language that speaks to the candidate, strong action verbs, etc.

**What do you dislike about Payscale JobNav Recruiter?**

I would love to distinguish qualifications from knowledge and skills required for the role. An additional section for knowledge and skills would be great. I think title recommendations can be crowd sourced using some algorithm to recommend titles that best match real world applications.

**What problems is Payscale JobNav Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most JDs I have written on datapeople pull in the a relatively higher number of potential candidates for the role versus traditional JDs. I also get to standardize and harmonize multiple JDs across countries of operation. Our DEI commitments are also adequately reflected in the JDs.

the auto change tool, really easy - and i like the scoring feature, helps keep all roles to a certain standard.

Some of the scoring features were inaccurate (i imagine the algorithm still has work to do), e.g. we have a d&i statement that wasn't pulled through.

Solving the mission of making jobs more accessible to everyone and using language that promotes people who may not feel they can.
It's helping me to bring talent to the role that i wouldn't of had before, and bringing expert knowledge into educating hiring managers on the best language

I like DataPeople as it's easy to enable extensions into your systems, to avoid duplication but also remind you to use it.

Sometimes certain language is unavoidble -  such as listing good written communication skills for role in copywritting and there's little way to work around that.

Datapeople encourages me to observe language commonly used, and understand its external connotatons and meanings 
I like that it offers some alternatives to find less gendered language in these instances

**What do you like best about Payscale JobNav Recruiter?**

I continue to engage with Datapeople because it is easy to use, develops skills, and is a pillar of my Recruiting DEI strategy.  

I ask Hiring Managers to write their job postings (with help from their Recruiter). But because most managers are not experts at writing inclusive postings, Datapeople provides the guidance and support to help them think about their posting and what skills they most need for the role. The feedback I get from my Managers is how easy it is to learn and even fun to use.  

The reporting feature is excellent and helps me track what is working (and what is not). 

Additionally, Datapeople is my "library" of job postings. No more emailing files back and forth, no more searching google drive. Every posting is stored within Datapeople, complete with each version after edits.  Datapeople works with Greenhouse so I can even open my GH reqs directly in Datapeople.

Datapeople is one of my go-to tools for better a recruiting function.

**What do you dislike about Payscale JobNav Recruiter?**

I can think of anything - it really is a great solution.

**Recommendations to others considering Payscale JobNav Recruiter:**

Datapeople is free to test out and incredibly easy to get started with. The very few times I've had problems, the team fixed them quickly via chat. They have even implemented feature requests!

Once I explain why we are dedicated to using Datapeople (to support diversity hiring and to make our postings more attractive to qualified candidates) my managers are engaged.  I've even had some compare their Datapeole scores or tell me how hard they worked to increase their score. Once they try Datapeople, they do not balk at writing postings. I've even had Leaders require it for their teams' postings (which is unnecessary because the Talent Team requires it, but still nice to see the engagement!)

**What problems is Payscale JobNav Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Several reasons:

1. Most importantly, we use Datapeople to make our postings more inclusive 

2. Datapeople is our "template" so that our postings are consistent

3. Datapeople is our "library" so that we never lose a posting or have multiple copies floating around. Similar google docs, TapRecruit supports multiple editors and tracks each users changes so you can go back to older versions if needed. But better than Google docs, Datapeople syncs directly to Greenhouse

The templates and ease of use are the most helpful parts of Datapeople for me personally.  The extension's ability to automatically generate important information in the job such as benefits has also been incredibly useful.

Truthfully, I do not have a bad thing to say about the software.  The support we have gotten in customizing the software to be compatible with Workday has been tremendous.

Many of our hiring managers gloss over their postings and seem to expect TA to fill the requisition out for them.  Datapeople allows me to save time by offering a standardized format for me to generate the content of a requisition.

I have used similar tools in the past, and I find Datapeople to be top-notch in the space.  The interface is very easy to use, is very clear in making suggestions, and easily integrates with our applicant tracking system.

Permissions are sort of complicated for hiring managers. I end up having to ping them and ask for permission or else I can't copy and paste it into our job posting tool. My suggestion would be to create a notification that says "give your recruiter permission to edit and post" so they know to do that.

Datapeople is helping the hiring managers that I work with write more fruitful job descriptions and putting the ownest on them to be precise and in exact in what they are looking for.

I think the IA could be tweaked a little for it to recognize better when the user is already complying with the suggestions.

Helpful to collaborate with hiring managers on their job description - enabling to go through the process of testing different things/learning about language that will work well from a DEI perspective.

Our integration between DataPeople and Lever doesn't allow direct upload of a JD from the draft by the HM to the recruiter. Meaning I have to copy/paste it which takes time and effort. There's also a disconnect with the spacing that can make JDs look sloppy and lots of editing/back and forth.

Datapeople helps our jobs be more equitable in our searches therefore assisting with our DEI efforts. More inclusive language makes our roles more appealing to diverse candidate pools.

I love the inclusivity scoring aspect. It really helps you to improve on habits, for example using "you'll" more throughout the JD. I also like that you can share your JD and collaboratively work together on the same JD.

The set field titles that you can't change! Some field titles don't make sense for some JDs, or we have that information included in other areas of the JD. I think the templates should be fully customisable, as long as you're hitting the checklist on the left hand side.

It's solving the DEI attraction problems that some companies face. It's helping our JDs be much more inclusive to all different types of people looking at applying for jobs.

It is an added step into the process, which makes posting jobs a little longer, but it is worth it based on the results. The integration between Datapeople and Workday takes time, which means I can't create my job posts as soon as a new search is assigned to me.

I started using Datappl when it first launched, and it has improved by leaps and bounds. The collaboration possibility and the automation is the best when creating and reviewing job descriptions.

I dislike that there are still sections that you can't bypass. For example, branded content that can't be edited but still gets highlighted and underscoring words that must be included, such as Analyst.
