  ### 1. Ease of Use and Quick Response, But the Manual Could Improve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Unidades K G.

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2025

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

I have been using dataPARC at work since 2022 and I really like the system's quick, online, and automatic response. I find it especially valuable to be able to visualize data in an educational way with customized dashboards, along with the functionality of receiving alarm notifications directly via email, which greatly facilitates the monitoring of the production process. The ease with which dataPARC allows data to be displayed and the system's usability are great advantages. Additionally, it is very useful for comparing different data sets and tracking the progress of daily operations, which enriches my work environment, making it more efficient and accurate.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

The manual could be in Portuguese to facilitate learning and searching for information.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use dataPARC for quick and automatic response, didactic data visualization with dashboards and email alerts, support in data comparison, and monitoring of the production process.

  ### 2. Great Tool for Technical and Non-Technical Users alike

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Paper & Forest Products | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2025

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

dataPARC is extremely user-friendly, especially if you're familiar with Microsoft products. The layout is intuitive and makes it easy to navigate and find the information relevant to your area. Unlike PI, dataPARC doesn’t require extensive training to get started, everything is laid out in a way that just makes sense.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

I've never had any issues with the program. There is nothing I dislike about DataParc.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

dataPARC has helped us with digital logging rather than paper logs. It’s also made downtime tracking much easier and more accurate, allowing us to quickly identify trends and take action to improve operations.

  ### 3. The implementation of the ParcView system was a very smooth and pleasant experience.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony G. | Instrumentation and Controls Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2024

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

The best things I have acquired from the execution of our new DataParc system installed at Piedmont Green Power is the realization of the mostly simple to use and expansive capabilities of the system. The website is an extreamly well built resource that has already been very usefull in my task of building our system graphics and data acquisition. The training provided by Caleb Spires is among the best training sessions I have ever received from any industrial system support staff. The training provided by Caleb was very clear, concise, and explained in a manner that a techncian new to the neuances of the programming software could easily understand.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

The script for CalcTag building could include more examples and perhaps a more indepth explanation of the VB language, such as a list of most common commands used in DataParc. The VB manuals I found online are almost too expansive and require much research when your not sure what line entry command you are trying to find for the desired outcome. this would be beneficial for those who have not had much experience using VB.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We will mostly use DataParc for troubleshooting and predictive maintenance.

  ### 4. DataPARC Intergration

Personalization of displays. Depth of software- the software is immediately useful for a novice user, and has extreme depth for experienced users. The custom scripting you can input gives you the ability to display anything you can think of.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

I had a great experience with dataparc..

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used dataparc to drive down feedstock costs by 200%. We used dataparc to ensure shipments were ordered in an intelligent way. We used dataparc to troubleshoot operations.

  ### 6. dataPARC has great service, is well designed, and is always improving

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Paper & Forest Products | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2024

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

We use dataPARC's tools on a daily basis and they are critical to our operations.
dataPARC is always listening to their customers to make improvements. The company continues to build in features that support their customers needs even when it means tackling difficult requests. I have been a client for a long time and have seen multiple desirable features get built into the system over time.
Their service team is responsive and the company tries to make solutions and training available to all clients.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

The biggest issue with dataPARC is the loading speed. There are work around to this through SQL and Excel and we know that dataPARC is aware of this and continues to work on it.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

dataPARC is our go to tool for quality data and visualizing operations data

  ### 7. dataPARC provides a powerful toolset to easily set data in front of an organization.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reagan M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2024

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

dataPARC serves as a great hub for our various data sources. It's valuable to have data from different parts of the mill all in the same place and to be able to trend this data. The Graphics Designer tool allows you to build graphics that communicate a lot more information than a spreadsheet.

The ability to easily build custom tags either using CALC tags or CTCCALCS tags is very powerful. This is one of the functions I use the most. This function allows you to use process values as variables in equations or formulas whose output can then be trended just like any other tag. This provides insights that you wouldn't necessarily receive from DCS data.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

Once I started using dataPARC more and got beyond the surface, I started noticing a few bugs here and there. More often than not they have been related to the user interface in different parts of the software. The good thing is that dataPARC support is very responsive!

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us monitor day-to-day operations and track maintenance/reliability issues. We also use it to help monitor raw materials cost in our process.

  ### 8. Best tool for trending and process troubleshooting.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcus T. | Process Control Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2024

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

The intuitivesnes and ease with which you can create the trends you need and customize the scales and stats with ease. The quick look tools and software around golden runs and grade browsers are a game changer in the Paper Industry.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

The graphics creator can be a little tricky sometimes, but if you're familiar with it, you can make it do whatever you want.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can create trends and scale it out so easily and quickly. And the tag search is so easy and intuitive. Comparing grade runs when a machine ist't performing as usual to identify loops or key metircs that are different between the two is crucial and saves lots of time.
You can also create calculation tags very easily within ParcView trends and save them for future use. Amazing if you want to do a comparison of items or values and then trend back to see past as well.

  ### 9. Beyond Expectations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2024

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

The team is incredibly helpful. We work a lot with Caleb who is so knowledgable and available to us. He is willing to go above and beyond his job on a regular basis. The data is easy to view and has really helped us in improving our operations. Dataparc was very easy to implement and Caleb worked hand in hand with our IT team to ensure everything we needed was in place. We use dataparc every day in our morning meeting, it is quickly becoming a part of our culture. We have been able to integrate dataparc with any piece of equipment we have. In most cases this integration only requires adding on a low cost sensor.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

We are excited for a notes section to be added to the MDE function. We hear that is being worked on now.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dataparc shows us data that we would not be able to see otherwise. This helps us to make better decisions to improve our throughput.

  ### 10. Parcview has become an Incredible data analysis tool for the plant

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luciano G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2024

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

dataPARC’s simple ease of use combined with advanced calculations makes it useful for everyone on site. The integration of different displays in the Graphics Designer has allowed us to make some custom applications for the plant. In addition the ability to integrate multiple data sources has been priceless, we can now view most of our different systems with one interface. We have automated and streamlined a lot of the operational data analysis using dataPARC

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

We are currently running an older version and find the back end systems a little clunky.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have multiple data sources on site from different manufactures. We are able to connect or link to almost all sources quickly and easily to provide one interface for our customers.

Data historian, process controls, quality metrics, process troubleshooting

  ### 12. dataPARC has become my intellectual extension for creating information from data.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard C. | Senior Director of Process Optimization, Paper & Forest Products, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2023

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

The best feature of dataPARC is the speed with which I can both access and crunch data.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

The most frustrating aspect of using dataPARC is that they don't put the entire development team at my personal disposal. I have so many good ideas! :)

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest problems I run into in any industrial setting is the barrier to making decisions with data. Often, data exists but can't be converted into actionable information. Often, data exists, but people don't know where it is or how to get to it. dataPARC lowers the burden for both of those things. It becomes the singular point of access for data, and it also becomes the most useful tool for understanding that data.

  ### 13. Several years of developments have enabled new multi-facility product lines.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon W. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2023

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

Quick response times from the dataPARC teams, and tailored solutions as we build a relationship between our organization and dataPARC, so that the dataPARC team may provide timely solutions/developments to our unique databases and applications.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

New developments require a greater degree of upkeep, such as needing to restart services on the PARCView server .

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Predictive Modeling to control the process to when process instruments in the field are compromised. New product lines by alleviating process bottlenecks. Tailored Centerlines with Controlsuite by Operator Position and by the Product being ran on assets. Platform Communications to enable various databases to be overlaid within PARCView for the same time period (QCS, DCS, Quality, ERP, Custom databases). Gap Tracking for real-time Cost of Manufacture. PARCAlarm distributions so we may be notified when there is a process upset to address. Many More.

  ### 14. Extremely happy with Parcview/Dataparc.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott W. | Control Systems Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2023

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

We really like Parcview's time scale syncronization, as well as the ease of building trends.
Really like the ability to navigate with the scroll wheel on the mouse.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

Y-scale adjustments. Would really like to be able to zoom individual y-scales with the scroll wheel.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parcview has become our main trending software for our plant. Next we will be looking to use parcview for our operator dashboards (possibly using centerline).

  ### 15. Easy User Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kasey M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2023

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

PARCview is pretty straightforward to at least start out and use it functionally. There are still many things I do not know how to do but from what I have seen others do with it, it has a lot of capability. The training manuals are also very helpful.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

I wish that trends were something you could set to be the top, bottom, or whichever window you are actively clicked onto so I do not have to minimize them to work on another item (like popping into Excel or Outlook briefly for example). It would be nice if it functioned like other windows do and just came to the top or background in order of selection. This top most window feature can be helpful to keep trends you want to monitor at the forefront of your screen, though, so I like it in those circumstances I just wish it was not the default option to have it on the top. Perhaps it does have this as an option, and I simply do not know how to change the default, but if not it could be a helpful feature to add.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily I utilize PARCview for historical data trends and averages to compare to present values for baseline/optimization and/or troubleshooting.

  ### 16. PARCview Customer Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron A. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2023

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

We use PARCview extensively in our organization. The software application helps us trend our production output and focus on when our process is trending outside our spec limits. The software's ability to capture all the various inputs from different servers is most helpful. We've enjoyed the Capstone team's insight into their training, and they have guided us on multiple projects. They have been a pleasure to work with.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

There is a slight learning curve to the PARCview application. It can take some time to familiarize oneself with the different system configurations. You will need dedicated staff to understand the nuances to move a project forward.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

dataPARC helps us solve problems by aiding us in visualizing the data inputs. We can trend these data points and understand when our process is beginning to move outside our control limits. We can compare and contrast against known standards and troubleshoot more effectively with that information.

  ### 17. My favorite troubleshooting tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | Controls & Automation Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2023

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

Trends are easily customizable. This is by far the easiest and best feature. Any information in the database is at your fingertips at any time.

It's easy to make customizable reports and pull information ot spreadsheets for analysis.

It is easy to add new data to the database and it's unlimited.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

Logbook feature used to be quite limited and felt clunky. I quit trying to use that feature. Getting information to operators and managers is whe dataPARC shines.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Determining whether or not events are correlated is quite easy with the built in FFT function. You can plot time-delayed events together with the delta-time feature. I use dataPARC frequently for looking at PID control loops to see whether the controllers are working and what effects one event is having to the downstream processes.

I recently changed jobs and already miss PARCview.

  ### 18. Overall dataParc is a very functional and user friendly data historian and process tool.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2023

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

dataParc has very efficient trending and graphics functionalities that allow for easy process troubleshooting, monitoring, and data collection. These tools feel much more modern and user-friendly compared to competitors.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

There was a learning curve for creating or editing new alarm categories. For example, we had to find out the hard way not to directly change a category's name, as it removed that category from all previous alarm events it had been assigned to.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

dataParc serves as the data historian for our entire manufacturing process and therefore is our primary tool for process trending, graphic process displays, aggregating and exporting data for analysis, and categorizing our downtime. These are the most commonly used tools, but it also has other features that we use less frequently, such as control charts or manual data logging.

  ### 19. DataParc Live Monitoring System Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Georges W. | IT and BI Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

I m using dataparc from long time ,i found that the most important part is the centerline because it shows a statistical results of the process for each run. Also you can set limits based on the previous runs.
In addition to the centerline Parcview is very helpful when displaying trends of each tag and combine output in order to analyse problems.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

If you are not a system specialist or you don t have a knowledge in the scripting and excel you will need a big support to get the advanced features of the system with is not free.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataParc from capstone help us to monitor our PM1 mill starting from yankee speed and reel speed and chemical consumption and electricity consumption.
Dataparc is the smartest tool to use in a paper mill or any other energy plant.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pami S. | Owner | Process Optimization Consultant , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2023

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

An intuitive data analytics tool that integrates process data with analytics, root cause analysis, economic based decision making and the best trending and graphics package

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

No downsize; we are always wanting data faster. We want all the data from our instrument databases or DCS systems to come into our dataPARC trending package to be as fast as possible. All the data, all the time, as fast as we can get it

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The root cause of deviation, optimizing process and understanding dynamics so we can control our process variability. This allows us to minimize cost, increase productivity and manage quality

  ### 22. Great Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2023

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

Easy to use trends, centerlines, and MDE. Built-in manuals are clear and concise.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

The least helpful tool has been the logbook. Typically the team falls back on the MDE since its easier to configure.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to use the MDE, Centerlines, and PARCgraphic to build a QA LIMS within PARCview and eliminate redundant software cost

  ### 23. Operations Engineer - Focus in Optimization and Reliability of Company Assets

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

DataPARC is very flexible and can bring in all of our data points for a one-stop shop for reviewing asset/system performance. The dataPARC team has also been very willing and responsive in building our requests.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

Some pages require a lengthier time to fully load and present all data points.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataPARC is helping to present system operating conditions and provide a way to quickly see where we are meeting our contractual obligations and where we are lacking. Additionally, it offers unit-level data that helps identify where we have inefficiencies and can improve equipment performance to meet our targets better. DataPARC is also being used to compare theoretical capabilities versus actual system performance.

We are also using dataPARC in conjunction with one of our other programs. This program is used to capture Engine Hours, this has been a human entry process, but dataPARC has been used to automate the data entry. This automation has resulted in more accurate data, quicker relay of data collection, and alleviated personnel from this task.

  ### 24. Truly wonderful software for data visibility at all levels of production.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph C. | Process Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

DataPARC has significantly improved our ability to view process data and troubleshoot issues. From operators to managers, the ease of access to our production data has been game-changing. The thing I love most about it is its versatility. I can spend twenty minutes training an operator how to use it, and then they can have full access to all of their batch data, current and historical. Or I can spend time developing more advanced screens for tracking the status of different equipment. Or I can create a screen to monitor the manufacturing facility as a whole, so managers can have at-a-glance access to the facility's health. I am constantly running into situations and thinking, "Oh, dataPARC could do that!". It continually exceeds my expectations.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

The only downside I have come across is that because it is so versatile, I can end up going down a rabbit hole and spending too much time developing a graphic display. I will get a display to where it does what I need, and then think of something new to add. DataPARC can be very simple if you want it to be. Or it can get very complex with a bit of effort. Like any software, there is going to be the occasional bug. And when you try and get too fancy with your graphics, it's easy to break if you don't know what you are doing. This is usually my fault though, and the dataPARC support center has always gone above and beyond to help me fix any issues I encounter.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access to data. Data is great, but it's not helpful if you can't view it easily. With dataPARC we have been able to take full advantage of our data. It has saved us so much time and energy since implementation.

  ### 25. Operator Friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cafer A. | Technical Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2023

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

dataParc is most operator friendly software I used.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

It could improve GRADE Book and manage traciliblity better

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

dataParc is a user friendly tool to obtain operational data and with data visualization tools to maintain anbd troubleshoot process problems

  ### 26. Trends, graphics, event tracking, and reports give us tools to monitor and improve operations.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Paper & Forest Products | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

The historian is adaptable to a variety of time-series data sources.

Scripting and Server side calculations let one combine values from different sources to create new tag values.

Built-in displays let one compare trends, see x-y relationships, view run-to-run comparisons, monitor centerline performance, and detect cyclical anomalies.

Customizable graphics let one build both high-level at-a-glance overview displays as well as drill-downs to process details. One can configure buttons to open relevant web page reports or reports from 3rd party tools.

Alarms can be configured to detect process excursions. Alarm events can be documented both by users (structured cause and text comments) and with automatically collected process data from the event to build a history for review and process improvement.

PARCtask feature allows sending screen captures to selected recipients either on a set schedule or based on an event trigger.

An Excel Add-in provides tools for extracting data for custom reporting or further analysis. It also has some nifty one-step custom charting tools.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

A few of the configuration interfaces are a bit dated, but these seem to be getting addressed as newer versions are released. Most of these screens would not be seen by regular users, but instead by folks configuring or updating elements of the system.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We implemented a process uptime performance system with event tracking by process area, including impact measures and coded reasons and comments for individual events. This replicates a system that required a team of IT folks for implementation in the past for another site, but it was relatively easy for one person to configure with the tools in dataPARC. PARCgraphics provides a common view of mill wide status and detailed views for individual departments.

  ### 27. Quality product at a very good price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Paper & Forest Products | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

The openness of the dataPARC system is very much appreciated. This means we can support the out-of-the-box dataPARC suite of software with custom methods of our own (enterprise reports, coded apps, etc) to enhance the overall product further and provide additional value to our users.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

The use of FireDaemon for running dataPARC Windows services is outdated and legacy. These should be rewritten as true Windows Services with an appropriate fully supported configuration-management GUI for use with were required.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps with day to day optimisation of Mill operational processes, gives visibility to Mill data in one common place

  ### 28. Parcview is easy to use and quick to pull information together.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

Easy to quickly pull together information from multiple sources!

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

This isn't necessarily a comment on parcview but more regarding our system. There are many powerful features but we're not using them as a company. To get things added has to go through our admins which can be a slow process.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our time series historians can be quickly and easily browsed. Information can be displayed in minutes, including large data pull requests.

  ### 29. dataPARC/PARCView is my go-to application that allows me to make data driven decisions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas G. | Production Shift Supervisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

DataPARC tools are well designed - they are simple enough to use that people without a technical background can still benefit from using dataPARCtools, at the same time the tools have enough depth and advanced functionality that our technical teams can leverage dataPARC to produce valuable insights into how our processes are operating.
I really like the PARCCalc system - It is a great way to take our DCS/PLC information and do more advanced real-time data manipulation to help create process insights.
The alarm/alert system is also a great way to keep up to date on how things are running when you aren't in front of your computer.
The last part about dataPARC that is probably the most important is the service. At my site, we have a group of dataPARC reps that know our system very well, and are always available to help when issues arise. Many of the software systems we have tried running in this mill that have failed did so because of poor support, having the high-level support available has helped make PARCView a reliable tool that is heavily utilized.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

The back end configuration and data management are a bit confusing at times, luckily we had a site dedicated dataparc representative that was able to help us work through those issues. I would recommend having additional training available on server side and data collection systems.

**Recommendations to others considering dataPARC:**

Be willing to spend the time upfront to develop trends, graphics, and other tools.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use PARCView as a process knowledge system. The first thing I do when I show up in the morning is look at the PARCView trends I have set up for my areas to see how we are running, and to help me make a plan for the day. Any time there is a process upset the first place I check is PARCView to try and determine the origin of the issue. Operators use it to track changes they have made in the process and to monitor trends to preemptively address issues.
We also use the MDE functionality for all of our operator rounds, since the MDE system is integrated into PARCView we have reports that can be automatically generated to track if operators are filling their rounds out or not.
We use the centerline function of PARCView to set up our machine whenever we make a grade change, it is a really nice way to make sure that we arent missing something important when getting on our more difficult grades.

  ### 30. Been a customer and fan of PARCview/dataPARC for 15 years & counting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Paper & Forest Products | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

PARCview is intuitive and flexible. It hands the power to the operators to trend their process in real-time but is also powerful enough for deeper data mining required by engineers, quality control folks, and others. The dataPARC system sits on a SQL database structure and the built-in server apps make it equipped to handle anything you can throw at it.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

At times it has felt a little "buggy" or "unpolished" when working in the back-end systems or within Admin function and responsibilities.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When exploring options to upgrade or replace the previous historian and its client software we were sold on the licensing by tag count rather than client installations. This opened the door for everyone to be empowered by data or do some real-time troubleshooting rather than a select few to trend data or perform investigations as it fit into their workday or schedule.

  ### 31. Flexible platform with solid foundational capabilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Venkat M. | Solutions Architect Operation Technology (OT), Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

DataParc as a historian is exceptional in its flexibility of data sources as well as its simplicity in architecture and supportability. If a user has a vision, there is a way to bring it to life utilizing DataParc

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

The primary downside in V5.6 and below is the dependencies upon which dataParc is built. Some of the security advancements of Microsoft and other vendors directly interfere with the core functionality of the product due to some outdated technology uses and libraries. Some of the reporting tools and visual tools are a little bit dated compared to other platforms

**Recommendations to others considering dataPARC:**

Have your process technical teams work with dataParc directly for maximum results. DataParc's team are process-focused people and speak that language very well

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving challenges that require digital solutions utilizing dataParc. By digitizing operator input and knowledge and being able to place that input and data in direct correlation with process data we have drastically improved our QMS and QCS processes and become more proactive in catching potential customer complaints and variation before it ships out.

  ### 32. The best historian you can have

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Paper & Forest Products | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2023

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

dataParc and ParcView have been an invaluable tool as a data historian. It is very intuitive to use and data is easy to see

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

Honesty, there isn't anything I inherently dislike

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to set centerlines and limits and get that in front of the operators so they are able to see deviations in the process quicker.

  ### 33. Parcview Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaosn N. | ITOT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

ParcView allows me to visualize my data in a meaningful way in which I can present information and not data. The support for the software is fabulous.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

None. None................................

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping to visulize data, Tracking Downtime, Tracking Produciton quality.

  ### 34. Efficiently optimizing our reliability program.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony C. | Senior Mechanical Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

The ability to simultaneously compare multiple units to identify anomalies.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

The tag search function. It has more to do with our tag naming inconsistently.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can troubleshoot equipment remotely, trend and identify anomalies to direct personnel before the issues become severe.

  ### 35. dataPARC does an excellent job bringing out data in a user-friendly graphical environment.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kirk C. | Capital Project Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

The best feature of dataPARC is the PARCview suite and the ability to create manual data entry tags that we can feed information into from an OPC link, or by operator input.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

PARCview can take awhile to load information, and is processing resource intensive in my opinion.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everyday, we use dataPARC to gain insights into our process and troubleshoot issues. The ease of use makes getting data a fast process to quickly get answers.

  ### 36. Quality Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Celeste O. | Quality Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

The ease of getting things implemented. Molly Culwell has been awesome to work with. She is very smart but never makes me feel stupid. She has great customer service skill.s

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

My lack of experience in Parcview. There is so much to learn that I would like hands on training.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quality conformance and diligence.

  ### 37. Process Data when you need it, where you need it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Paper & Forest Products | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

The dataPARC team understands my process and helps me build solutions to understand it better. The Community Portal provides answers at my fingertips.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

Requires some IT infrastructure to take advantage of its capabilities. Could not connect to all legacy technology.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PARCview allows our operations team to monitor multiple systems simultaneously thereby making reacting faster to upsets and make smarter decisions.

  ### 38. Best data trending package I've seen for manufacturing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark S. | Director of Operational Excellence, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2021

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

The trend controls are much better than comparable software, very easy for operators to learn. Displays are fully customizable and look great. A strong Excel Add-in bridges any gaps for reporting.

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

Some powerful features like Run Comparison, Event Paretos, etc. are just too difficult to setup and use for most users, so unfortunately haven't stuck despite their usefulness.

**Recommendations to others considering dataPARC:**

Consider who your users are, this software is best for process engineers, process R&D and curious operators who will use and benefit from easily navigable data in real time.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to dataPARC our trends were clunky, slow to load, difficult to navigate - bottlenecked failure analysis and troubleshooting. Benefit of dataPARC is much faster, essentially real time trending that operators now use not just to analyze failures but also predict and prevent them.

  ### 39. Great tool for any manufacturing facility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Paper & Forest Products | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2022

**What do you like best about dataPARC?**

Ease of use for anyone who can use a computer

**What do you dislike about dataPARC?**

If not maintained, too many features can appear to be a bog down at times... i.e. too many tags versus just the amount needed.

**What problems is dataPARC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multiple plant operations in my department are being optimized because of Parcview.
