What do you like best about Data Virtuality?

We've been using Data Virtuality for more than 4 years to collect data from Salesforce into our datalake: setup has been easy, the service level was good, and the support team was up and ready to help when we happened to have some incidents on the pipeline. Also, the tool is very cost-effective in comparison to other ETL tools (Fivetran, Stitch, etc), which was one of the main reasons for us chosing it at the time. I warmly recommend this tool for any data team wishing to collect 3rd party data at a competitive price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Data Virtuality?

I did not see any real downside with this tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Data Virtuality?

Data Virtuality is a powerful tool which easily integrates a wide range of different data sources. Every data source then can be accessed with SQL. It also has a powerful job scheduler and with its ability to write procedural SQL you can write complex ETL pipelines in a very short time. As a virtualization middleware it also allows real time access to data sources and cross data source joins to get ad-hoc insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Data Virtuality?

More information about what happens "inside" the software would be great, especially when encountering a bug or unexpected behavior. But the customer support is always available for help, they have a very fast response time and provide solutions or short time workarounds if needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Data Virtuality?

We used data virtuality pipes. I liked that the setup is straight forward and that even in case of a problem, we always knew quickly what was wrong.

Customer Support was also helpful in resolving issues quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Data Virtuality?

Nothing comes to mind. We did also use competitors for some edge cases, but if possible I would have used pipes for everything because of the better price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Data Virtuality?

Enables real-time data access from any source. It essentially allows us to treat any connected sources as a SQL database

Provides various caching capabilities and gives control over the methods of performance optimizations such as distributed query optimization, in-memory caching, and materialization in a 3rd party database

I am using procedural SQL to automate workflows and it works well Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Data Virtuality?

Onboarding materials and best practices are rather scarce. Good skills using SQL and ideally knowing how databases work are required to be productive right out of the box Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Data Virtuality?

- The extensive library of connectors. The Data Virtuality team also develops them on request which we need occasionally for new clients

- The powerful SQL engine. It lets us completely customize every aspect of the data flow from the sources to a variety of data tools

- Data Virtuality allows us to move and migrate data as well which we need for certain APIs where live-querying data would run into API limits Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Data Virtuality?

Administrating the server can be somewhat complex, leading to the need for running scripts as opposed to using the GUI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Data Virtuality?

We used DataVirtuality for Salesforce and Jira data and were able to customize absolutely everything we needed to. Support was really excellent -- friendly and quick! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Data Virtuality?

The Pipes Web UI was not very intuitive and sometimes totally inaccurate. Custom pipe definitions were tricky to get right and lacked version control. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Data Virtuality?

Data Virtuality has made the data management team so much more efficient and effective. It allows us to access different data sources, draw the data out and analyze it. The two main benefits for us are (1) the short time it takes to connect to our data sources and (2) the flexibility the virtual SQL layer provides to comply with the specific data needs of our end users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Data Virtuality?

Data Virtuality lets users see things they don't have access to when using a tool like DBeaver; this is on the roadmap to be changed so users only see what they have access to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Data Virtuality?

We were looking for an ETL tool which is cheap and didn't require extensive programming language. After searching in the marketplace that fits our need, Pipes was the only one that was affordable yet gave us the use of integrated SQL editor with which ETL can be easily done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Data Virtuality?

The price could be more flexible and adapt more to the current use case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Data Virtuality?

Pipes has a very intuitive setup and is easy to use. The pre-developed data templates are also very

helpful. The SQL editor to transform data and schemas seems very useful as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Data Virtuality?

No real downside. It took a couple weeks to get the Stripe integration functioning entirely as we would like it to. On the upside, the Support and Development teams were AMAZING in getting every little issue and behavior dialed in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
