The GUI and system are smart, easy to understand, and clean. The front-end is a lot like interacting with a well-designed game or software. Darktrace provides insight into what is occurring on your network that would be very difficult to find otherwise. It becomes the lead member of your security team providing 24x7x365 protection. Whilst using Darktrace I was able to discover network based indicators of compromise that would otherwise not have been found using the logs from our tranditional SIEM tool.

Darktrace has many advanced features and reporting capabilities. It captures all packets that flow on the network, and uses that data to create a "trend" of normal and anomalous user activity over the period of 2-3 weeks. Afterwards, if it detects any anomalous activity, it generates alerts and can even block the traffic using the Antigena component. Darktrace requires an IMAP server to generate email alerts and to enable the functionality of the mobile app. Also, some of the reports may be difficult to understand due to the high level of detail. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best part about this product is hands down the customer service. Never act bothered and always go above and beyond. As far as actual product trait, the ability to go back and review past network traffic to see how a certain action came into play is very useful. Being able to back track and see what is causing an actual attack, whether stopped or not, is the only way to prevent them in the future and this software allows that. It may be a little too advanced for a smaller company such as the one I used it with. The technology is so advanced that it isn't cost effective for a company who isn't often susceptible to web attacks but would be great for large entities and/or government agencies.
