You can even add pictures to make it more interactive! The idea of running an online trivia event was daunting with tracking all the individual scores with teams and things. Crowdpurr took care of it and made adding or changing points allotted to questions easy! Definitely would recommend as a great solution if you are looking to run your own trivia event! Actually given how well this went I would consider using it at a networking tool by creating regular events with it. It's definitely a different networking tool as compared to regular events which is why I would like it for that! **What do you dislike about Crowdpurr?** The formation of teams was a little confusing. We prolly could have taken more time to learn about that specifically but once people were joining our "room" it got a little chaotic. We just opted to have everyone compete individually in the end. **What problems is Crowdpurr solving and how is that benefiting you?** Some of the other solutions wanted to assign a person to run our trivia event, or had pre-set questions for us to use. That isn't what we wanted. We wanted to run our own event and find a solution to facilitate that virtually. Crowdpurr is a cost effective solution for just that! It allowed us to create our own trivia questions, host our own meeting and even review and change the answers as the event went along. It was pretty intuitive for the most part. ### 2. And I'm really glad I went with it! It offered even more than I thought it would (e.g., allowing people to select a team and to display rankings per team and per individual, yet making different team sizes "fair" by calculating average score). It seemed like the team thought of everything. Plus, they had a very honest payment model - the default "premium plan" only lasts for 1 month, since they are aware that their use case is generally someone using them for one event. So overall, gives the impression of being a flexible tool run by an honest team. **What do you dislike about Crowdpurr?** We had some synchronisation issues where some participants didn't see questions counting down/weren't able to answer unless they refreshed the page, but the Crowpurr team is aware and is working on a fix. So Easy I Actually Use It! I have the world at my fingertips (well - internet and keyboard) but my efficacy lands somewhere between my "wants" and the cumbersome world of logging in and out of different platforms and learning how to speak each language. CrowdPurr has been easy and intuitive throughout. The best feature is their locked and loaded Trivia questions as well as glossary and directions throughout. Wonder if you're tracking correctly on the game setup? There's info right on the screen to help you along. There are more features than I'd ever use - but love the idea of having the Trivia running in the background so people can play at their leisure. Might try that next. **What do you dislike about Crowdpurr?** The questions seem to stick to similar themes (like the same brain was Googling and creating them). Over time I'm sure the library will continue to expand. I also wish there was a different way to navigate through the questions, going in sets of 5 or 10 had some drag so going back to modify isn't the easiest process but doable. **Recommendations to others considering Crowdpurr:** Trivia function is great! One thing I can think of is having an option for the user to change their answer during countdown trivia, and have the option to remove wrong answers during the countdown (e.g. say the countdown is 15 seconds...at the 12 second mark remove one of the wrong answers so there are only 4 possible answers left, then at the 9 second mark remove another wrong answer so there are only 3 possible answers left, and finally at the 6 second mark remove another wrong answer so there are only 2 possible answers left.) **Recommendations to others considering Crowdpurr:** Excellent platform for hosting a trivia contest. **What problems is Crowdpurr solving and how is that benefiting you?** Building a customer contact base. ### 5. It has lots of great features to make your trivia game work the way you want it to and it was VERY easy to learn to use it. I had a couple people reach out to me about it & they were also able to use it for their events too. EVERYONE really enjoyed it. I loved that you can add pictures/gifs to the game - it makes it very fun to play with as well as create. The couple times I had questions the team answered really fast & were very helpful. There are so many pre-loaded trivia questions to choose from - and you can design a trivia game to your exact specifications. From the number of questions, to the theme, to the type of competition. I also love that they offer a free option, so you can try before you buy. Obviously the trivia is fantastic. But even more than the product, I absolutely love that they automatically downgraded my account after a month without me having to remember to cancel. So many companies trick you into a monthly service hoping you'll forget to cancel. This is the only company that stopped my service after the 1 month I paid for. And that actually makes me want to sign-up again! I would highly recommend Crowdpurr to anyone looking for virtual trivia for a big group. **What do you dislike about Crowdpurr?** Haven't found a real downside yet. After seven years of hosting and writing quizzes, I can tell you that some players enjoy the short answer/write-in style of questions and some prefer multiple-choice. Crowdpurr offers you the ability to write BOTH kinds of questions, potentially doubling your audience. The leaderboards, different formatting options, custom branding features are all great. We also loved all of the back end data to be able to look at how many people were active in answering questions throughout the entire game, how many guessed correctly for each question and at what time people signed in for the game. Being able to warp from one experience to another all without having participants to click or type in a new link every time is a simple yet genius idea. Being an avid Trivia-goer, this website helped condense all the tools needed to run Trivia all within an easy user-friendly platform. I used the write-in function the most, if not all the time based on all the questions I had already created on my own, so being able to copy and paste into the website was a nice touch. I found the frequently asked questions tab to be extremely helpful. Each step-by-step direction was simple to follow. **What do you dislike about Crowdpurr?** The only thing I found out the hard way was not being able to change your answer or submission once it was clicked. As a host, not mentioning that after the very first question was frustrating for some participants, but I believe after a while they understood to take their time answering so their answer was in fact their final answer. One possible advancement for the website would be to incorporate some use of video - similar to a zoom meeting, but having the link to the Experience as well as the video for all participants to have the option of seeing each other. **Recommendations to others considering Crowdpurr:** If you are considering using another website to host a trivia event, look no further because this is absolutely perfect for all your needs. **What problems is Crowdpurr solving and how is that benefiting you?** Crowdpurr was able to help bring together friends and families from states apart and allow them to participate in an event all at the same time. This can be used for multiple occasions and although I was the "host" for all the times I used it, the benefit of having it be simple for the participants shows that it can be used again and again. ### 20. Especially the timer, so you can be sure people are not cheating (and if they are, they get less points than the people who actually know stuff). We got a lot of excited responses of participants who really felt the thrill of the timer, during the quiz **What do you dislike about Crowdpurr?** The set-up for multiple rounds was difficult to find out and it took a few testing rounds and youtube-tutorials to find out how to do it. After a good test round, we had to check the settings again, because after one quiz, some settings go back to regular. As the host of the quiz, it made me unsure whether I had done it alright and I was on edge if everything was going to be oke. We found it pretty easy to use, gives you a ton of options for how to structure your game (multiple choice or write in, time per question, etc.) , and automates a lot of the ranking process. We also thought it was great that there were options to use pre-written questions or you can upload your own. Our questions were uploaded and we went with a pop culture/sci-fi theme. **What do you dislike about Crowdpurr?** Unfortunately, because the trivia night was a one time event that we probably won’t replicate at least within the next 6 months and also because our events budget has been cut for the remainder of the summer, we chose to let our subscription expire to go back to the free version. The browser- and device-agnosticism of the web interface allowing for multiple participants was really great, and works really well. **What do you dislike about Crowdpurr?** I used CrowdPurr for a very specific purpose - namely, a broadly distributed web-based quiz. I did not review any other features or its abilities with respect to social media or other activity types. I did elect to run a webcast simultaneously as the "game show host", and the switching back between the web conferencing tool and CrowdPurr required usual Windows behaviour, which may have been a bit cumbersome. But that shouldn't be blamed on CrowdPurr. **Recommendations to others considering Crowdpurr:** When you want to run a web-enabled trivia game, this software definitely can make that happen, and does it well and intuitively. **What problems is Crowdpurr solving and how is that benefiting you?** CrowdPurr allowed me, in a pandemic period, to run a remote quiz game show via the web. With Crowdpurr, we have been able to transfer that event to a virtual one so that we are not losing any opportunities to fundraiser for transplant patients. It was really the only product I found that did everything I wanted, which was host a custom question trivia game that made it frictionless to play--no app/registering for players, etc. Crowdpurr really was zero hassle for players, easy and smart set up for game creators, and very affordable. The customer service was also tops, and so easy to access via the chat. Another platform I tried to sign up for wanted to have a call and felt very salesy. I also just felt like the company was “honest.” Like I wasn’t autoenrolled to keep being billed got plenty of notification about when my paid service was expiring. That’s just so uncommon. **What do you dislike about Crowdpurr?** No real downsides. Crowdpurr is amazing. **Recommendations to others considering Crowdpurr:** If you are doing a charity fund raiser, consider doing a virtual trivia night with Crowdpurr. It is an absolutely amazing product and lets you raise thousands for your favorite charity (in my case cancer research). Then I saw crowdpurr and thought everyone is sitting at home, so why not play virtual trivia.
