I find Criteo Commerce Growth very useful for campaign building, especially for long tail clients. I like the scalability and speed of the sales features which are completely awesome. I enjoy the ability to reach out to the right audiences, especially for retail, and appreciate the vast retail audiences it offers. The AI is a highlight for me—it’s built on billions of commerce signals providing highly valuable audiences. I love how it refines targeting and helps find the right audience geographically. The AI and performance marketing aspects are great for creating campaigns and managing them independently. Finally, I really appreciate the support from the internal team.

I have had nothing but issues with the onboarding, billing and lack of respectable customer support. i used them many years ago and they have fallen so far in regards to this. It has been overwhelmingly frustrating to dal with, and despite a modest spend, Im forced to stop our campaigns because of it.

The platform is relatively easy to use and is simple when navigating between pages and sections. Retargeting campaigns do perform well.

**What do you dislike about Criteo Commerce Growth?**

Criteo is limited in it's capabilities for product feed segmentation and reporting on the performance of those products. Additionally, they claim to offer CTV, but it is not done in platform, therefor providing no direct insight into the campaign while it is running. Prospecting campaigns tend to perform poorly.

**What problems is Criteo Commerce Growth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Criteo has not been able to meet us where we are growing. The only solution we use them for at this point is dynamic product feed retargeting.

The dynamic catalog is a good tool to use. Also criteo audience cohorts are good when it comes to targeting. Similar audience is good for new customer aquisition

The UI of the platform is not good. Accessing the campaigns and creatives is difficult when you compare it with traditional marketing platforms like Facebook and Google.

New customer aquisition and similar audience targeting helped a lot in identifying new users who are relavant. The different creative dimensions helped in getting visibility in various placements.

When the ads run, they've been successful. (This was before many data privacy regulations)

Literally can't spend money because the "Customer Success" Team won't fix catalog issues on their end. After sending countless videos to them over and over again and them taking days to respond with something we've already tried or some irrelevant help article, it's still not resolved. Just a complete waste of time. This isn't our first issue with them. In the past, we've tried to launch a new campaign, get an explanation on why our feed quality suddenly dropped and tried to get info about expanding our program to international markets. Each issue took 5 months to 'resolve'. The resolve for most of those issues was that we missed the marketing window and dropped it. One very simple example of this was it took months for them to connect us to their APAC team so we could run ads in China. When we finally got on the call, they gave us information on how to launch ads in Japan. When I pivoted the meeting back to China, they said they don't operate there. Wasted months where we could have scoped out another vendor.

We're trying to dynamically remarket price drops for airline routes users have previously searched for. The benefit would be to get this pricing in front of them while they're scouring the web. Problem is, we can't get anything to work.

it's very easy to set up, you can quickly create a campaign with a feed, a budget, and your goal. It has a very easy and understandable interface, the reports are very clear.

Performance is not consistent, one month is very good and profitable, the next month you cannot get the same result. Worst of all, there is no action you can take manually.

In the travel sector, especially in pandemic conditions; and in the economic conditions in Turkey, it can be very difficult for the user to make a travel decision. We make this easy by using the Criteo retargeting solution.

So far what we are using, we haven't any complaints but it would be a lot better if they fix their software in favour of beginner-friendly. Sometimes we are really confused about how to use some tools in it.

Panel is not strong about uı, ux. Panel design chance very often so it is not user friendly. It could have more various model of advertising because new compatitors become.

The metrics and dashboard are easy to get insights.

They used to have more helpful support that showed you how to set up the tool and make sure it was working properly. They have changed to email-only support and provide extremely weak feedback into setup and campaigns. For such an enterprise-level company, it's unfathomable they wouldn't invest so little in support. There are tools that cost a fraction of what Criteo does and have phone call support 7 days a week. Olivia Mills especially is one of the worst support agents out there, providing only articles and ambiguous insights into why our campaign wasn't functioning. It was such a bad experience after 3 emails that we've decided to find another tool because I know exactly how back and forth emails go with a support agent who just sends you articles and vague answers. Complete waste of time without getting anywere.

We were trying to retarget our 600k visitors and managed to show our ads to 150 people instead. There we're no answers provided as to why we couldn't show our ads to 600K users after having the pixel installed for 6 months.

I like how low-maintenance Criteo is. Once you plug in your catalog feed, the ads will always stay up to date automatically. And Criteo sends me email recommendations on optimizations to make.

It can be challenging to get help and technical solutions from their customer support team. There is a chat feature that you can use, but they have a slow reply time and don't always provide you with a solution.

We are running Google Smart Shopping display retargeting ads, but it seems like Google doesn't have as much inventory as Criteo. Criteo retargeting ads show up more often on mobile apps as well, which helps us reach our remarketing audiences.

Hooklogic provides the best support to get our product features in a marketplaces where exactly the customers are willing to buy. It gives perfect nice sales to the products and nice advertising platform.

Complex interface can lead to some confusions. You need to be very patient to see the results. Hooklogic should build the logic in such way that customers should not wait more. So that improvement is awaited.

Easy to setup with a single sitewide pixel and xml product feed. The ability to avoid mobile app traffic is easier than on Google Display, though it requires a Customer Service request (cannot be updated in the platform directly). Creating dynamic display ads is simple and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Criteo Commerce Growth?**

There was a glitch in submitting my ads and launching the campaign that required more than a few emails with Customer Service. This was eventually resolved when they identified a glitch on their end, though I missed my campaign launch by 3 weeks. This could be a moot issue at this point, if the issue is resolved, though it speaks to a Self-Service platform that is still getting the bugs ironed out. Insight into frequency of ad serving could be improved - this is often a hidden data point with platforms (other than FB/IG).

It's worth a comparative test against other dynamic retargeting solutions, though be sure to export the inventory reports to see where exactly your banners appeared.

We were looking for an alternative to Google Display and Facebook for retargeting site visitors. Criteo seems able to avoid the "junk inventory" better than Google. Also trying to avoid mobile app traffic, which Google is frustratingly difficult to avoid.

The sources for traffic are top notch. We've been able to make our retargeting campaign work from a last click perspective, which is very difficult given the upper funnel nature of display. We've worked with others in the industry, and have walked away because we haven't seen the performance, we've seen with Criteo.

The UI isn't completely intuitive, but the enhancements made lately, have made them better. Would like more visibility into the data, and be able to slice and dice the data more easily in the UI.

We tested pretty much every other platform, and haven't seen as good of performance as Criteo. I think Criteo should be in your top consideration set when deciding between platforms to run your display media.

We achieve the highest return with Criteo solutions. We're able to adjust bids in an instant, but also have our rep monitoring our account. Also, Criteo has built out more sophisticated reporting allowing us to see placements and product-level details. This helps us modify our product feed and campaigns.

It would be nice if Criteo offered dynamic retargeting templates that inserted products dynamically, but allowed advertisers to have a larger brand presence in the banner.

Criteo is the most advanced retargeting platform. They are innovative and provide lots of quick and reliable support. They also have low costs and have a CPC model so lots of added value impressions.

They do not have the best blacklisting capabilities. The clients are not happy that they see themselves on content like politics.

The dynamic campaign creation is a boosting tool to reach a high amount of customers. In the tab dashboard we check the continuing advertising projects and that's easily possible also on the mobile device.

Retargeting isn't fully operational and doesn't work always correctly when we try to find the automated campaign products with the search engine.

Management of our current advertising campaigns. Automatically reporting and creation of campaigns with translations and available on every device. The designing and content management of campaigns is greatly programmed - so it's very easy and goes fast to introduce new and existing campaigns and check the reach of every project.

Self-serve UI is very limited and buggy. Cannot even do the basics such as pause ads or see which ads are running. The account managers need to go back to their tech team to verify ad status, including if ads are truly paused.

Campaigns drove high volume of traffic, almost instantly. But traffic dipped after UTM tracking was installed by Vendor Support Team. Then the campaign began sending traffic to a site that wasn't ours.

The inability to manually manage UTM and Analytics parameters. The second I requested a change, things went haywire. Upper-Funnel Traffic, list building, remarketing growth. Iv'e seen better on-site engagement metrics than our alternative upper-funnel efforts. As I'm unable to track behaviors, like Email Sign-ups, for ex.. that I DON'T want to optimize against, but do want to have visibility on, there have been additional limitations. Ultimately, I want this to drive on-site sales and only want the campaigns to optimize against that specific behavior. Thus, I can't track performance of Email sign-ups, or the campaign will optimize against that behavior, neglecting transactions.

I love that it has an easy-to-use interface, it speeds up navigation and campaign management. It also has an excellent support team, which helps a lot to solve problems and optimizations. Optimization objectives include CPC, COS and others.

I dislike that the platform is prone to interruptions and publishes ads with pixelated images. Therefore the platform cannot guarantee that the same product is not constantly included in the same creativity. On the other hand the user interface is not as useful as we would like.

It is the perfect marketing tool for the B2C industry, usually for the e-commerce industry. As I have sometimes seen Criteo ads on Facebook, as marketing people it is not necessary to run a campaign on Facebook. Product Ads looks great with prices, discount codes and obviously helps convert those customers who leave the website.

Criteo we are using it for entrepreneurial redirection for one of our e-commerce clients, it helps us point out several websites, including facebook, in terms of displaying product advertisements. Next of the redirection ads is minimal and is supporting us to use the marketing budget more efficiently.

We have an in-house PPC team and we were never able to get similar ROAS effect as Criteo is providing. Account managers are also very helpful - last year we had the idea to use criteo for some specific action and our account manager help us to set-up everything and later sends report about how it affected performance

Criteo is moving towards more of a self-service model; I don't disagree with the strategy but it is possible that some clients may not like this approach. I also don't love the Facebook integration, meaning it's probably best to manage that yourself.

Ask about their long-term service model.
Ask about where your account size fits in their portfolio
Decide if you want to do your own Facebook targeting as they lack granularity
Ensure your creative director is okay with their templates (ensure they show you banners, video ads, social ads, audio used, etc as they have a ton of formats they don't make easy to see!)

I disliked the initial transition from the person I talked to about transferring to Criteo for a retargeting platform to the person I now talk to on my campaign strategy. It seemed a little messy and information wasn't transferred properly between the two people.

To get people to convert more frequently on the retargeting ads. Dynamic retargeting allows people to see the products and not just a branded static image - so conversions happen more often due to this.

The most exciting thing about Criteo is i'm able to to have full control of my campaign and see reports while having a managed campaign. Everything has to be approved by me before changes are done and no ridiculous fees.

Unfortunately, the amount of pixels is the thing i dislike, i'm still not able to get the tracking sorted.

Criteo makes it easy to determine spend levels based on a target ROAS.  Their support team is great at helping clients manage their budget and make adjustments as needed based on current CPCs vs effect on impressions.

Much of the CPC is used up in their management fees vs actual media spend.  They do not break this out in detail but general info can be found in their quarterly reports (they are a public company).

**What problems is Criteo Commerce Growth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Criteo makes it easy to scale lower funnel marking.  Their ROAS is what you would expect from this type of media (9:1).  However, we have found greater success in working directly with Google on retargeting thru GDN.  Not as much reach as Criteo, but more $ being used towards media to drive higher ROAS.

Tagging was more painstaking than anticipated requiring development resources it shouldn't, mostly do to Mageno upgrades required to be compatible. Not much we can do to enhance the branding. Blinky, flashing ads work in retargeting. The billing department was a pain in the rear.

The reporting and transparency. The data is broken up by campaign only. I work with Adroll and you are able to drill down into the campaign by offer to see how each offer is doing. I know Criteo is working on better reporting so I look forward to seeing how that works.

It's very easy to use. Customer support is quick to respond and we are able to make changes very quickly. We've also maintained a healthy return on ad spend which is always a great incentive for the client to spend

The only thing i don't like about criteo dynamic re-tartgeting is that there are some changes that require support team to work on. So instead of being able to make changes immediately, it can take a day or so for the change to happen.

I like the fact that you can get creative with the type of ads you want to  run and you can customize the images

I hate the fact that it is impossible to get in touch with customer support. You can send 30 emails and wait days for them to reply. You can call every single location they have and all of them say the mailbox is full (they have dozens of locations). I am calling during business hours, leaving emails, and there is no other way to get ahold of someone there. 

The Criteo specialist team uploaded the wrong website feed to our account sending our customers to the wrong site, advertising the wrong products, and we're paying to all of this and getting dozens of calls and emails from angry customers. This is making us look terrible as a company and on our brand.

Right now this is only causing business problems and not fixing anything.
