What do you like best about CreativeLive?

CreativeLive is a unique online learning service in which the courses are taking place live with both studio audience and online viewers. The online audience can interact with the instructor and ask questions live via chat. The chat feature also allows you to interact with other viewers (either about the topic being learnt or in an off-topic chat room).

CreativeLive started as mostly photography centered with a single course over the weekend, and slowly grew and now offers many courses in a variety of subjects such as photo editing, design, music and self improvement.

The courses are free to watch when they are live and they are also re-broadcasted after the course is finished (of course no live questions via the chat during re-broadcast)

You can buy a course which gets you access to the course's video at any time and the course material (many courses have PDFs with summary and additional information)

Courses lengths vary and can be a single day, few days and even a month. Sometimes they hold a Photo-week or Photoshop-week during that week CreativeLive gathers an impressive collection of lecturers, many top of their field, each giving a short course in their area of expertise.

Course's price is dependent on its length, and are reasonable (there is usually a reduced price if you buy it before the course ends) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CreativeLive?

Not much to dislike about CreativeLive, it sometimes can be difficult to get your question answered on popular courses, but the moderators do their best and try to get the frequently asked questions answered (in some cases another viewer may answer your question in chat)

Courses hours are daytime in the west coast of USA which may not be optimal for viewers in other countries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering CreativeLive:

Many courses to choose from, for all levels, try one of the live courses (free) and see if they style of teaching works for you.

Some courses are really in depth, and even if you think you are familiar with the course subject you end up learning new things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CreativeLive solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've been following photography their courses for few years now and I feel it got me a better photographer.

The ability to ask questions during the course is a unique selling point for me, which is usually only possible in 'offline' courses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CreativeLive?

I love how many different classes that Creative Live offers. They bring in big name professionals that are personable and have no problem sharing their wealth of information with people who are willing to learn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CreativeLive?

The only thing that I personally don't like about it is that there is some adult material (creative nude posing/boudoir posing) that is available to anyone who is logged in to their account. I think that while it is still an art form, there should be some filtering available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering CreativeLive:

I think this site is perfect for anyone looking to increase their knowledge of any creative product or to learn new skills. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CreativeLive solving and how is that benefiting you?

I currently use this to increase my knowledge of photography and lighting for my photography business. I find that they are using the current trends which helps me connect with what clients would want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CreativeLive?

CreativeLive literally offers courses for anyone interested in expanding their creativity and unleashing their full potential as artists, photographers, entrepreneurs, business professionals, musicians or craftsmen. Moreover, individuals who aren't prepared to commit financially to a course can watch live, free workshops from professionals all over the globe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CreativeLive?

CreativeLive charges students per class, rather than per month. While this may benefit those who are looking to target a specific topic, this may be ideal; however, with classes starting at more than $20, taking multiple classes can get pretty pricy. Because CreativeLive charges by the class, rather than a monthly subscription, they offer no refunds on paid classes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering CreativeLive:

CreativeLive could improve in three major ways:

1. Offer some type of subscription service for customers to gain greater access for less money.

2. Provide some type of refund for that service should customers not find courses satisfactory.

3. Create more accessible customer support channels for customers facing issues with the service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CreativeLive solving and how is that benefiting you?

Training at a low cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CreativeLive?

My favorite part of Creative Live is the ability to watch content for free. This is amazingly useful for new and small businesses who do not have the budget to buy every class. Additionally, the classes are so in depth and cover to much material. Very well organized. And finally, having an audience that can ask questions (both in studio and online) is another great aspect to using Creative Live for education. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CreativeLive?

I feel like there have been less classes on Photography, and that's my main focus, but I do find the variety good as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering CreativeLive:

The topics of classes has definitely increased in variety which is a great thing, however I'd love to see more Photography business classes from different types of photographres (ie, Lifestyle, Documentary, Stock, Commercial). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CreativeLive solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've learned so many ins and outs of running a business, which has significantly cut down on the amount of time I have to spend scouring the internet for information that might help me start and run a successful business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CreativeLive?

The variety of courses and different categories of skills is something that is pretty impressive. Aside from the known speakers, it's a very good place to learn more about your favorite mentors and how they work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CreativeLive?

Some courses don't really teach you anything. It's a lot of talking and no substance, no takeaway you can put into practice. Some courses are worth their purchase while others are better off just searching for videos on Youtube. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering CreativeLive:

Really evaluate whether you need a specific course before buying it. Some courses are put on sale regularly and will avoid you from getting ripped off for a course that doesn't really teach you anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CreativeLive solving and how is that benefiting you?

Not knowing certain skills or certain tools and being able to log in and learn something new in a couple of minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CreativeLive solving and how is that benefiting you?

Working at a church we get a lot of volunteers who want to be apart of different creative teams, including photography, videography, marketing, and creative development. These courses allow us to train even the most amateur volunteers on how to do a great job! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CreativeLive?

The variety is great! So many different types of classes on many different topics with a range of pricing. I feel like I can always find what I'm looking for and find new things I'm interested in. There's also several channels with various live free content streaming all the time, so many times I can watch something for free. The classes are usually very comprehensive, hands on and really beneficial. They also have sales almost all the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CreativeLive?

Some of the more in depth classes are priced fairly high and out of my price range. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CreativeLive solving and how is that benefiting you?

Creative Live has been a convenient, easy and affordable way for me to get some professional development and learn something specific I need for my business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CreativeLive?

I love the fact that I can get access to the best of the best in whichever field you want to improve in. I'm in the photography field and have been able to learn from some of my favorite photographers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CreativeLive?

I'd say the downside is that the classes take place during work hours, but I know there's a rebroadcast that I can catch most of once I'm off work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CreativeLive solving and how is that benefiting you?

The main benefit is obviously just gaining more knowledge and skills to grow. A lot of what I know in the photography field now is because of what I've learned from the teachers on Creative Live. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CreativeLive?

The website is very aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate. You can pick which category you want to study and go from there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CreativeLive?

They should add a technology section to their list of categories. Technology can be used in a lot of ways to foster creative/artistic ideas, which goes along with their brand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering CreativeLive:

You might as well try it out! Classes that are less than $30 are still really informative and something fun and productive to do on the weekend or when you have free time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CreativeLive solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've had buffering issues before, but nothing that wasn't resolved quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
