## Crayon Reviews
 ### 1. Simple, Intuitive Tool for Competitive Analysis

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thrupthi R. | Director of Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I'm still getting aquatinted with the tool but so far the insights they provide me and my team on our competitors including their latest media mentions website updates and reviews are invaluable. We've also found the tool great for battle cards for our sales team.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Battle cards can sometimes be hard to format and wish there were ways to make them more visual and interactive/dynamic. Other than that love everything about this tool.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gathering valuable and timely intel on competitors and keeping our marketing and sales orgs informed on the latest, all in once place, has helped save time and effort.

 ### 2. High quality competitive intel

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristofer S. | Sales, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Competitive intel is accurate, timely, and tailored to our business—great support for active competitive and prospecting into new accounts.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Nothing at this point. The service has been very helpful

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The sales team gets regularly updated battle cards and market intelligence. We are always up to date when competitors get introduced or when we need to rip out an incumbent.

 ### 3. Crayon for the Win to Beat Competition!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The user interface is straightforward to navigate. As a busy rep and hearing about the competition on the fly when on calls/demos, it's essential to have easy access to a system that can be navigated easily. Crayon does a great job here.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

nothing. It is pretty new to our org so helping to build it out even more will take time

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitive intel. It allows you to tell the whole story on competitors so you become a trusted advisor to the client or potential client. I have been able to overcome objections more easily

 ### 4. Easy-to-use platform with helpful competitive intelligence

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Aggregation of news/press releases, Analyst Picks, battle card structure flexibility, advanced search functionality

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Lack of ability to search for keywords across multiple competitors (i.e., it would be helpful if the user typed in a Client "X" and could see all the relevant places/competitors that Client X is mentioned for). The same concept applies to searching at the product level to see if a product or feature is present across which competitors. It would be helpful to manipulate the platform to be able to search for this and see in one view how a product/client/other keyword applies across our competitor targets (i.e., within press releases, within battle cards, etc.) and to have a digestible/downloadable report for this

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability for everyone to align on a consistent sell-against strategy and ability to centralize competitor information

 ### 5. Insightful and useful information! Crayon give me an industry advantage.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The timely information. Although, I cannot always read everything I receive, I find the information insightful and helpful. I enjoy learning about the industry and our competitors. I feel like Crayon gives me an industry advantage.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The frequency of the information/reports. I cannot always read everything when it shows up in my inbox.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon provides me the market intelligence I need to be competitive. Crayon saves time, and it is a one-stop shop for obtaining industry and competitor information. I am increasing my knowledge of our competitors and the industry.

 ### 6. Excellent competitive intel tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam K. | Account Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Streamlined and timely recap that sends an update on where competitors are positioning competing products

Crayon offers one place to monitor what my competitors are doing

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

So far so good, I don't have any complaints at this point

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to track the online presence of competitors is very important to our business. We like that we can see updates in a single interface without having to search online.

 ### 8. Excellent platform for tracking competitors and making it easy to share information

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Some of the information can be repetitive, but nothing that can't be overlooked.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking our competitor's announcements and moves. Crayon helps keep an eye on what is going on, whether big or small.

 ### 9. My experience thus far has been very positive in the Crayon product and their team.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Automation of information gathering (Insights) and the overall presentation of the information within filtered categories, along with saved searches and asset creation

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Lacking rich text editing, basic look and feel (backgrounds, tables, images etc.) No "undo" option

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Very helpful tool to centralize and automate the creation of and overall enablement of competitive intel

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem:
Too many repositories, too much info, difficult to maintain

Crayon benefits to us:

-Centralize all CI
-Replace existing tools and assets (i.e. battlecards, wiki, static content, newsletters)
-Respond to the field quicker

 ### 10. Time-saving tool for competitive analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Our team has been able to save so much time by using Crayon. I love how you can filter and set up alerts relevant to the competitors you care about and get digestible emails.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I wish we had access to all competitors, but we need to pay more for additional traction.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

do it!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we're able to give our GTM teams the intel they need when coming up against competitors in the space. The battle cards have been lifechanging for us!

 ### 11. Solid tool for information collection

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The sorting and the filtering capabilities

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The UI is a little difficult to learn and navigate.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralizing competitive intelligece information, staying up to date on news.

 ### 12. A Perfect 10 for Crayon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt H. | Sr. Technical Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

In an ever-evolving competitive landscape, Crayon helps me keep abreast of what our competitors are doing at a moment's notice. Without their platform, I would have to manually hunt and harvest intel on a daily basis in order to keep informed. Their Salesforce integration is also very nice. It helps my company do 2 important things. 1) Our sales reps have battle card information at their fingertips within the SFDC console. And 2) I can perform win/loss analysis per competitors - a process that would take days/weeks is now completely automated. Our customer success representative is also very responsive, helpful and fun to work with.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I honestly can't think of anything I dislike.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Win/Loss analysis is something I did not know I could do with Crayon.

 ### 13. Instrumental in Establishing a Competitive Intelligence Program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kimberly B. | Senior Competitive Intelligence Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon offers the most important and relevant insights about not only our top competitors but our emerging and adjacent competitors. I've worked with them at two different companies/industries and they have quickly adapted and understood the most relevant insights for our organizations. The algorithm is spot on compared to other tools that I've used and the analyst component helps bring it home. I've researched dozens of tools and theirs is my favorite.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I wish Battlecards were more dynamic and visual. I believe this is in the works for development, but I wish it was done now. :)

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Really focus on what you want to get out of using a tool like this. It will help you build your case and determine if the benefits they offer will meet your needs. For example, for us it was about the algorithm and UX - which far surpassed our needs with Crayon!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the problem of answering tons of questions about competitors when certain news hits and the need to inform the organization on most recent insights. We've realized time savings!

 ### 14. Great Competitive Intel Reporting Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean F. | Account Executive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Quick and categorized access to my competitors strengths, weaknesses, press releases and customer reviews.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

It does require a certain amount of heavy lifting to make sure the intel is relevant to your org. It's only as good as the degree to which the tool is adopted org wide.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If on a call with a customer or prospect, I can quickly find information I need on a tool I may not already be an expert on.

 ### 15. Crayon sources the information you need so you don't have to search for it manually

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I like the section structure for all the battle cards and competitive intel.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I wish there were more specific information provided that might refute the claims of some of these competitors. Competitors say they can do things that they often can't, so how can those product features be rated on a scale of feasibility?

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can create side-by-side competitor comparisons that are very helpful to share internally with sellers.

 ### 16. Great tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Great insights of competitors and what the pros and cons are
also company news to keep you informed

use this tool daily highly recommend it.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Not all the companies you want to search maybe there for battlecards
but majority are

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

being in sales and having questions to ask about other providers to better under if our services is a good fit and what would be a reason to change.

 ### 17. Slack + Crayon is the best combination for your remote growth team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The intel feed and analyst is *extremely* helpful when you're running a lean team. The onboarding sessions removes the sole responsibility of product champion from me to the entire Crayon team. The insights tab brings in everything you need to know about the competitive landscape. I even use Crayon as an onboarding tool for new employees so they can really love joining the team. New employees get to know our value prop quicker and love what we're doing against our competition.

Update: We rebranded and launched a new company. Having Julie and the analyst team as part of our Crayon subscription has been critical for us to stay on top of competitive intelligence while launching. The key part of our success with Crayon was the Slack integration. We've centralized all our intel on Slack and allows our remote team to all engage with the latest content.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I'd love more integrations into collaboration tools like Atlassian products, especially Confluence. Not a big deal since you can embed exported items and links into Confluence.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Consider this tool if you're looking for in-depth intelligence about your competitors.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been able to understand what our competitors are saying to: potential job candidates, customers, different personas and product reviews. This has allowed us to move with agility through positioning, messaging and channel execution.

 ### 18. Crayon makes our team more efficient and provide better competitive intel

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon has helped my team be more efficient and provide better competitive intel to our sales team. Crayon does all the research for us by pushing all relevant information to our team rather than us spending time with us finding it. We are able to provide our 'value add' with analysis and spending time on focusing on what is valuable to our sales team. Battlecards are the best as we can put all our findings there and make it very easy for sales team to find and digest.
Finally, some of the best customer service around. Love our CSM Max who is always going out of his way to make sure we are getting the most out of our subscription. Great service!

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Wish pricing was not based on # of competitors. Understand why they need to do that for their cost model BUT wish it wasn't such a large $ to add additional competitors.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are in a high growth market with new competitors weekly. Crayon helps us stay ahead of the competitive curve on our primary competitors. OUr team is able to spend our time on analysis rather than on collecting the competitive data which makes us much more efficient and productive.

 ### 19. Clear, concise and helpful insight insight

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The frequent updates on competitors is very helpful. The way it's presented is clear, simple to understand and provides next steps for us to consider about our own products.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I haven't figured out when the updates are coming. Is there a set cadence or is it random when there are updates?

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems. It's helped me bring solutions/ideas to our product team.

 ### 20. Effective and easy to use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The competitive market edge and market research tools that allow me to pitch well with the insights

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The many emails in a day sent over (which may be overwhelming)

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Yes to other colleagues to help them as well with pitching

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having to know about the competitors and other competitive tools in the market which helps me to pitch better

 ### 21. Excellent tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The competitive battle cards are very helpful to gain insight into where we stand among our competition.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I am still somewhat new to the tool, but so far I have no complaints!

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

It's an excellent tool for gaining insight into competitive products and learning where your strengths lie.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It puts competitor information all in one place to compare to our products

 ### 22. Intuitive and powerful CI tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

There are two things that make Crayon a top recommendation for me. 1) The tool has become an indispensable part of my job, and a wealth of insights for our various internal stakeholders. 2) The Crayon team is constantly looking for ways for my company to get incrementally more value from the tool, and is hyper responsive to support requests.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Honestly not much. Like any tool, there is a learning curve, but this is probably one of the quickest tools to learn and start getting value from.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As our company grows, so does our set of competitors. This tool allows us to whittle hours of online research into one or two quick weekly reviews of competitive intel. We're also able to stay ahead of competitor trends and predict with greater accuracy threats on the horizon. Our execs love the insights we get from Crayon.

 ### 23. Powerful if your entire team buys in

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Competitor-specific battle cards are great.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I would love the ability to more easily export / copy + paste insights from battlecards into my own notes for upcoming calls.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Talking to prospects on the phone and having competitor insights / recently won accounts for competitors is definitely very valuable. I know which questions to focus in on, and which to avoid.

 ### 24. Very helpful for understand competitive landscape

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Fast and easy too find competitive intel. The interface is easy and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The lack of integrations with other tools like Slack channels to feed data into it. The steps necessary to update the cards as an individual contributor.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Crayon is a great tool to house all the intel on competitors in one place. It is the perfect tool to help with before calls and during calls to help leverage the weak points in competitors.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One stop shop for all things competitors at a high level before I walk into calls. Centralized repository for how we stack up to competitors.

 ### 25. Highly recommend to anyone (except my competitors!)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The consistent, curated intelligence feed keeps me informed of what's happening in the market. Let's face it, competition is a good thing as it drives innovation. Understanding what the competition is doing can help identify trends I wouldn't otherwise see.

Enough about the product - let's talk about the people! Every single person we've been exposed to has been outstanding. By going the extra mile to help us on more than one project, they've demonstrated they're creativity, aptitude and genuine interest in our success.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

There's nothing I dislike about Crayon. I realize they're pretty excited about the battle cards but that's never been important to us. We've built them out but our business isn't highly-transactional so we use them as a placeholder for information.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Have them show you a live feed on a demo and you'll be sold.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon has helped us see everything that our competitors are doing in one, easy-to-digest place. How does this help? Understanding what the competition is doing can help identify trends I wouldn't otherwise see.

 ### 26. Single Source of Truth for Competitive Intelligence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel R. | Competitive Intelligence Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

We have a small competitive intelligence team that services a large number of end-users within the company (several thousand) and Crayon allows me to quickly curate the insights they've scraped from the web alongside my own assessments. Instead of wrestling with slide-shows or trying to run down and organize all the pieces of intel around the company I just store all of our assets in Crayon. Even though pretty much anybody can make a tool for scraping info from the web, Crayon's recommendations and automatic prioritization of insights saves me a ton of time in putting together weekly newsletters (and my own reading lists).

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

We have a broad line of products and a correspondingly large list of competitors to track, and an even bigger list of competitors that might come up during a sales call or during renewal. For an early-stage competitive intel program, I've found that users can have some trouble finding a specific battlecard or another piece of information. Really, it's only a few clicks but that can be important in driving adoption.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Crayon, our information was scattered across different teams, regional organizations, and buried in folders or shared drives. Now, we're able to consolidate and democratize access to that information. From an analyst perspective, I use Crayon to save myself time in managing the flow of information through our company.

 ### 27. Easy-to-use, clear and efficient

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The tool is very easy to navigate, you can filter and modulate as per relevant. It is very practical for various teams and departments within a company. You can build and view all details within each battle card; and keep them updated as per relevant.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The design is a bit simplistic but overall it does what is needed so that is fine

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

It's very straightforward and easy to use, so give it a try!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keep the teams up-to-date with the competition landscape, at any time. Give them the right information so they know how to handle each situation.

 ### 28. Transformed our approach to competitive intelligence + stellar customer support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt P. | Product Marketing Manage, Market and Competitor Intelligence, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

We have been using Crayon for almost two years now and are incredibly impressed with not only the product, but the people at the company. Not only is their customer success team amazing (Hey Sami!), their marketing organization is producing some absolutely killer content that is helping us to guide our efforts even more.

The user interface is incredibly flexible and easy to use. We've been taking advantage of the Insights and Battlecard tabs almost daily, and have been using the platform as a gateway to get more of our people involved in the competitive intelligence, specifically by allowing salespeople to contribute intelligence nuggets that my teammate and I review before inserting each item as intel into a specific competitive battlecard. We love this simple, yet very effective approach to collaboration and makes it super easy for us to curate valuable pieces of information we may otherwise have not found ourselves.

We've also been able to spend some time configuring our saved searches so that our Insights panel is much more targeted to happenings in the market. Doing so has helped us depend less on incredibly quantitative competitive information, but look at that information from a more qualitative perspective and a wider lens to truly understand what's happening in our market.

The ability to integrate with Salesforce and other tools in your tech stack is also incredibly valuable in terms of making these insights available within the flow of work (salespeople love this feature).

The new two way Slack integration is exactly what we'd want out of a tool like this. There are a ton of great conversations that happen around our experiences with our competitors in our Competitor Slack channel - the new version of the Crayon integration makes it SO much easier to ensure those insights don't get lost in the feed and are captured in a way that can actually provide value.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I would like Crayon to continue developing the reporting component of their platform. While the performance indicators are great relative to battlecard views, etc., I would really like the Insights tab to provide some more granular reporting over time, specifically around certain keywords or themes and more time trends related to them. Not to say we can't get a lot out of them now, but I think there's massive potential there for the team to develop something that could make the user's life a whole lot easier when it comes to measurement and reporting. Knowing how great the Crayon team is, I have no doubt that whatever they would build would be incredibly powerful.

The tool is incredibly powerful, but it is also worth spending a couple of hours honing in on exactly what kind of information you would like to have flowed through the Insights tool. The amount of content the tool pulls in can get overwhelming and you can spend too much time sifting through it if you don't know what kind of information you're looking for, so again, have a very clear idea of what you'd like to glean from the platform. Work with your CSM to make sure those insights are configured properly. They provide great service, make sure you use it.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Have a very clear of the goals you'd like to achieve with your competitive intelligence function. The tool is a great way to house information and share it easily among different teams, but it is not a completely automated tool.

You must be willing to spend the time necessary to create the necessary information within the platform and curate regularly, especially if you're in a fast-moving industry. The customizable battlecard templates are stellar and incredibly useful, especially if you integrate Crayon with your CRM or LMS and make those available in the flow of work for salespeople.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Battlecard development to:

Increase win rate in competitive deals
Inform marketing (lead generation and content marketing) of competitive solutions and campaign positioning
Honing positioning and messaging of new products relative to similar competitive products or those designed to fill gaps in the market

We have a pretty clear idea of ARR attached to our competitive intel efforts, and this is without the Salesforce connector (which we're doing soon). The Salesforce connector will also help us get a better idea of what kind of content helps sellers and where in the evaluation process they're using specific assets, which will be a gamechanger as it related to tying CI performance to revenue.

 ### 29. Helpful analysts, clear and helpful insights, and a great UX

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric P. | Co-founder & Chief Product Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The weekly insights are awesome, the UI is very clear and I love the ability to easily save searches that give me what I need, and the battlecards have been helpful in keeping track of what's happening. We've also just gotten our SE team to start submitting insights on a regular basis which is going to make the engine that much more powerful. I pin insights regularly for my team to review later. It's exactly what we were looking for, and great value for money.

Icing on the cake is the Slack notifications and the "win" reporting to demonstrate impact.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

There are definitely some quirks in setting up battlecards, but once you get trained it makes easy sense. There are also some drawbacks with attaching Battlecards in Salesforce, but we haven't fully adopted that piece yet so it's not been an inhibitor.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Get the example reports to ensure the competitors you want are in there and you're getting good content from them.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitive intelligence analysis, insight consolidation, tracking, etc. It's a source we rely on to keep the pulse on what our competitors are doing in pricing, content, and product development. Negative reviews and Glassdoor reviews have also given us insight into shortcomings to potentially exploit.

 ### 30. Great way to stay on top of competitors

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Enrique V. | Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The battle cards feature has been very helpful for our customer facing teams. The templates are user friendly and intuitive to use, and they have been used many teams during difficult conversations. The ability to integrate the battle cards feature with Salesforce has been huge for adoption as well.

The news feed is also great staying on top of our competitors.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Nothing really to dislike. Crayon has gotten a lot better about filtering out insights that aren't relevant or important.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are better equipping our customer-facing teams (sales, customer service, technical solutions) with information about our competitors, in the case they are having conversations with clients/prospects about potentially going with a competitor or churning.

Crayon has extremely beneficial sales battle cards that provide descriptive competitive intelligence on top-tier competitors to help the sales team gain market share and have a comprehensive competitive edge. Battle card content is discoverable, shareable, and collaborative; The content is classified by distinct categories, helpful at every stage of an ongoing sales cycle.

Crayon has a plethora of information to access.

 ### 33. Competitive Intel

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon is very customizable. We can share links to calls, articles, and other collateral with our sellers. Sellers being able to make comments help us keep the material current. The integration with our CMS makes Crayon easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Not much. If I had to pick something apart, the interface looks a little dated but that does not impact usability.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon keeps us on top of competitive intelligence. It's an easy place for reps to go to understand who a market alternative is and how to position against them.

 ### 34. Fast, accurate and clear insights.

The only downside is the battle card creator. I wish it were more designer-friendly.

Crayon helps me provide insight into what is going on in our industry.

 ### 36. Very Responsive Account Manager

 ### 37. Competitive intel on the fly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick Z. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon is super helpful for pulling up info on competitors while I'm on a call. It's easy to use and has helped me with relevant talking points in a pinch. Don't know enough about a small competitor I haven't heard of before? Just open the saved bookmark, type in the competitor's name and I get a goldmine of information.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

This could be more-so related to the way my particular organization uses Crayon and not as much a fault of the software, but there are some relatively small competitors where the info just isn't there. I also wish there was an easier way for individual contributors to submit information about competitors to Crayon so that way we're collecting more aggregate info and providing as much relevant content as possible to everyone in the organization. If it was easier to publish info on competitors and have some sort of system in place where all of the submissions are reviewed, it could be a good way of learning from other reps.

As an end-user in a sales capacity, I think the software is very good overall.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

If you don't have a solid process in place for getting competitive intel FAST while your reps are on the phone, this is a great way of gathering the info in one place. It's very helpful having one source of truth for finding out info about competitors on the fly.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon solves for getting great snippets about points to bring up in competitive conversations on the fly. This has helped me to speak to relevant points about a competitor I'm not super familiar with while on a call with a prospect. There have been numerous occasions in which a prospect will ask about how my organization compares to several they are in the process of evaluating. Crayon allows me to search for the most relevant talking points about where my organizations wins, loses, and what to focus on when talking about any specific competitor.

 ### 38. Crayon is a lifesaver

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tristan T. | Account Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The ability to see detailed information about companies that can support my sales efforts.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Sometimes not a lot of information that can be useful for me.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting intel on companies that I am meeting with and any vendors they may be working with.

 ### 39. Good Product and Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon allowed us to pull together a lot of competitive intelligence in a central location - great for our sales team.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Would like the text editing functions to be more flexible - like MS Word.

Collect competitive information and provide a tool for our Sales team.

 ### 40. Great product, I use it on a weekly basis.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I wish the updates were more frequent / deeper (social posts etc)

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am understanding what my competitors are doing, it really helps me to decide on my next activities.

 ### 41. Crayon Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Very helpful platform for reviewing battlecards. Very clean and intuitive, easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Would be helpful if the format for every battlecard was identical, though I know this is not possible all the time as we won't have all the same levels of intelligence on each account. An option to search the entire battlecard would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

A great tool in your stack.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly learning what company wide standard messaging is around market alternatives. Being able to quickly dismiss competitors in a matter of seconds.

 ### 42. Crayon review!

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

the page could be organized a little different. you have to scan the page a few times to find key facts

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

keeping up on industry trends

 ### 43. Easy to keep battlecards up-to-date

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isabela R. | Customer Success Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I like how clean and organized it is. The daily emails to my inbox are super helpful.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

It's a little annoying that you can't more visibly see an insight from the battlecard view. In situations where our salespeople are gathering insights, it'd be nice to see a running list of their insights directly on the battlecard.
We've also found that adoption of Crayon for our Sales team has been slow - but us Marketers like it!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization previously had trouble with version control of battlecards, which Crayon helps us address.

 ### 44. Insightful and consistent information about the industry and competitors

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I enjoy the automated emails to my inbox

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The UI should be easier to navigate to assist our team in finding necessary information faster

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitor knowledge and lack of industry knowledge is solved through consistent insight from Crayon

 ### 45. Invaluable Resource

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon in pairing with our internal teams helps us get valuable intel on our competition and also helps craft our responses for clients. This kind of information is invaluable to any sales rep. Its too hard as a rep to keep up with what every competitor is doing and this really helps stay on top of it in a nice, easily consumable format.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Not much to dislike here. It would be nice to get even more in depth information on competitors, but I'm honestly not sure what all information comes from Crayon and what information comes from our internal teams

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of hard to get intel. It's helping us better understand our value prop over our competitors.

 ### 46. Amazing tool!!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I haven't run into anything that caused an issue or dissatisfaction

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Try it and you too will see it's power!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitive repository and ease of access for organization

 ### 47. Best to think of this as a CI service as much as a tech platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The service level we receive is first-class. The account managers and analysts work very hard to make sure your content is curated properly and catered to your needs. They are very responsive and successfully pivot based on feedback.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Have the right expectations in mind in terms of the type of data you receive. It provides great coverage for high-level information (industry activity, website/messaging changes, review sites like Gartner peer reviews, social media and campaign activity, etc.). Coverage for more granular product-level information is lacking so don't think of this as a tool that will neccessarily assist in complex sales.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Think about how you are going to operationalize the tool AND service behind it as part of your competitive intelligence program.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitive information gathering and curation.

 ### 48. Relationship management Director

All content is fine. Maybe more focus about EMEA information

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I need to know about the competition or client it is very usefull

 ### 49. Good

Abilitiy to find competitor intell within a few clicks

 ### 50. Good Competitive Search Tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Easy to set up searches. You can cast a very broad "net" for competitive content, everything from competitor websites, news outlets, blogs, etc.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

It is a little difficult to narrow down your search, sometimes there is just too much information.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Good competitive search tool for companies with a large group of competitors that need to be analyzed.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitive research across a large group of competitors (40 plus) that span multiple products and industries.
