## Crayon Reviews
  ### 1. Great experience and superb support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haris B. | Strategic Intelligence Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Support is very good and the on-boarding process is very well put together. Max and Zack were truly amazing.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

No dislikes so far - everything looks great.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Crayon as my one and only CI dashboard solution - it is way less time consuming than my previous platform.

  ### 2. Toast Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen C. | Sales Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Very easy to access information! Very useful when needing competitive intel.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Nothing stands out. Overall it's easy to use and organized well.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having one place to easily access competitive intel. I like how there's a section for recent updates so you know the information is updated.

  ### 3. Crayon makes me a competitive expert

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Thanks to Crayon and the insights they surface, I’m able to save countless hours of research and easily look like an expert on the competition. Sales reps love the battlecards and feel more confident when going head-to-head against a competitor.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Duplicate insights are bothersome to scroll and filter through.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon keeps tabs on competitors for me, and provides a great centalized hub for competitive knowledge.

  ### 4. Powerful competitive intelligence solution powered by an awesome team of talented people

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt P. | Product Marketing Manager, Market and Competitive Intelligence, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Depth of competitive monitoring and analysis capabilities. The team is full of amazingly talented people committed to building a great product and making sure you're successful with your competitive program.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Crayon's analytics offering has continued to evolve and I'm excited to see it evolve even further. The depth of monitoring and analysis is what truly makes this platform different than alternatives (IMO). Would like to see its analytics, trends analysis and reporting continue to improve as the process can be a little manual right now. Their current trends analysis and reporting offering, however, is bounds ahead of alternatives I've seen.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using Crayon to scale our competitive program. As a team of 1, the platform makes it so easy for me to not only keep aligned to the happenings of our competitive space, but break through the noise to identify trends and opportunities that we can act on to support our product, marketing, customer success, and executive teams. We use the Slack integration to fine tune our saved searches so we're receiving the most relevant intel when we need it most and making sure to get that intel to the relevant team as quickly as we can, alongside required context to make the insight actionable. We're also in the process of building our team-specific competitive dashboards and a weekly newsletter with Crayon's board functionality, which is a great way to create and share competitive content deliverables (and gauge consumption analytics to see how engaged your colleagues are with your compete content).

  ### 5. A focus on success

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron S. | Director Product Marketing & Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Not only has the customer success team been great, but we've quickly developed a relationship with the Crayon Product Management team. The tool is user friendly, helps my team reallocate time on more strategic tasks, and has helped the PMM team better engaged sales (and other stakeholders). Crayon has helped us transition from an ad-hoc manual time consuming market intelligence program to a real-time automated efficient market intelligence program.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Crayon could improve the admin user interface and capabilities, for example, the ability to comment on individual tiles instead of an entire battlecard OR a better way of archiving/marking field intelligence as "reviewed". I would add the Crayon Product Management team has been very responsive in acknowledging these pain points, asking questions & talking to get the complete picture, and adding the requests into their backlog.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At the end of the day, it is all about enabling internal stakeholders to ensure an improved win rate and retention. Crayon has helped in several ways, from collecting and aggregating data into actionable insights, which reduces a lot of labor-intensive manual work, to delivering insights into asset utilization & revenue impact.

  ### 6. Great all-in-one platform for competitive intel!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Sleek user interface and great user experience.
Really appreciate the Slack and Salesforce integrations.
Multiple tools/options for our teams to collect intel seamlessly.
Analyst picks are a nice touch and easily accessible.
Customer service is amazing and extremely responsive - shoutout to you Carly!

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Would love to see more product features as the platform evolves!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing and tracking competitive intel.

  ### 7. Easy to use and adopt CI platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

- clean, simple UX
- ability to streamline communication across teams via emailed digests, comment areas on batttlecards/insights tab, and the "add information" ability in the platform and through email.
- salesforce integration
- dedicated customer success lead and analyst have been helpful to get the product up and running
- ability to house all CI in one platform

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

- not enough FAQ/training docs on crayon.co - needs more clarity on tiering competitors and optimizing battlecards/insights
- manual editing/removing on the insights tab when competitors have commonly used words as names - AI/ML might eventually be able to mitigate this
- not entirely set up for companies with more than one vertical, competitors in different industries

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- competitive intelligence "source of truth." We want everyone to compile all insights and information into this platform.
- better, real-time communication using the emailed digest, for example, to discuss what competitors are up to.

  ### 8. Crayon is a capable tool that has many great features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon has one of the best Intel tools for web scraping Features and AI/ML Algorithms for auto-curating content compared to competitors. The UX/UI is good, also.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The Achilles heel of Crayon is it is difficult to maintain and build content, as copying and pasting or cloning different boards or widgets at the time I used Crayon was not an option.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I cannot speak to this, as the issue with creating and maintaining boards pushed us to drop Crayon. It will benefit me if they fix the problems with building battlecards and dashboards.

  ### 9. Easy to Use, Fast Implementation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

No more static competitive assets, real-time tracking of competitors and their content, great analytics to track actual usage and adoption

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Nothing really, obviously I'd love to track more competitors at a pro-level, but understand the pricing.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sales not having appropriate resources, scattered resources, out of date resources, manual tracking

  ### 10. Fastest way to scale your CI program

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha N. | Product Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Daily / Weekly digests are some of the most powerful insights I get from Crayon to keep a pulse on the market, but the real magic is seeing website changes, particularly the before and after of competitors. This has tipped me off to pricing changes, messaging and branding overhauls, and new capabilities without having to have hawk eyes on it myself.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

This isn't something wrong with Crayon, but boy is it hard to build the habit with the team of regularly looking at battlecards. I am hopeful the latest UI updates will help me improve adoption rates.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

There are a lot of CI tools on the market and each has their merits, but what I like most about Crayon is their team's support and investment with customers. I've already been involved in user feedback sessions, which isn't typical for most SaaS orgs. Regardless of your company size, Crayon's team takes feedback to heart and is actively working towards innovating their solution.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform has completely removed the need for tedious manual research and static battlecards, making it a lot easier to be a PMM team of 1. I'm able to regularly update my intel and see larger shifts in the market because of it.

  ### 11. Indispensable - can't imagine life without Crayon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon's platform is a "force multiplier," it enables our small team to do the work of a much larger one. Crayon's targeting is accurate and efficient, and the battle card functionality is the perfect way to arm our sales organization to effectively compete against a number of competitors.

Crayon's support organization is also top notch. Our rep is friendly, accessible, and helpful. I have never had a bad experience with their support, sales, and product teams. From top to bottom, Crayon makes it easy to be a successful customer.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Nothing, their product is great. I only regret not buying Crayon sooner!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon is the perfect solution for aggregating a large amount of market intelligence, delivering key insights to stakeholders (executives, sales, etc.), and driving more effective sales motions.

  ### 12. Great Competitive Monitoring Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** 🚀 Eric S. | Founder, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

We've been able to monitor what our competitors are doing on their websites, when they're mentioned around the web, and what their customers are saying about them on review sites. It has been great to provide our executive team more visibility into what our team is working on and watching with our competitors. Our sales team has also liked having their battlecards integrated with Salesforce so they can easily pull up intel about competitors they're going against.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I wish there was a way that I could include other articles into the board view. There are some interesting things that happen in our industry that aren't directly tied to competitors, but might be big industry news. It would be nice to be able to add these items to a board for the different teams we work with.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring competitor changes on their site, where they're getting links/media mentions from, and different promotions they're running. We've also moved all of our battlecards into Crayon and have it integrated with Salesforce. Now upkeep on them is super quick, I can monitor their usage, and see which reps are actively using them.

  ### 13. Great tool to start your CI program

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jess E. | Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

We've been using Crayon for around 4 months and we've found it great to get the company excited about CI and also scale this in a manageable way:
- Being able to customise and track what you want, as well as tweak it later when you need to.
- The integration with Slack is invaluable and means the insights are where I want them, and I can tag others and start conversations around them.
- Attentive and helpful account management, always ready to give insights and go the extra mile.
- The Crayon Slack community is a pretty useful asset too.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I wish there was a bit more how-to or documentation on how to use specific parts of the tool. Whilst trying to analyse our programme, I can't easily find blogs or documentation on what Crayon offers for this. There aren't so many analytics features in the tool either which would be useful. I look forward to what else they are bringing out soon!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We feel monitoring our competitors is a lot more scalable and manageable now that everything is centralised in one place. As we're still in an early stage of maturity with our CI programme, we're hoping to see big changes soon. It's great to have one place to spark conversation with all members of the team, and have oversight in one channel.

  ### 14. Very powerful, yet easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I evaluated three competitive intelligence tools and decided to go with Crayon. It has a very neat UI and is super easy to use. The functionalities of Crayon's battlecards are by far the best among the same type of products. The two-way Slack integration is top-notch. And I also like the Salesforce integration, which allows me to keep track of win/loss insights submitted by our reps.
And their support team is very responsive. I really enjoy working with our CSM.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Nothing. It sometimes has small bugs, but their support team and engineering team do listen to my feedback and are constantly improving the product.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Track our competitors and enable our sales teams. So far, Crayon does a good job in both.

  ### 15. all in one place

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

it's easy to search and navigate various types of data points in one platform. for example, if i'm working on a project about automations or another feature, it's easy to see social posts, content marketing, messaging, jobs, etc. all related to automations. i can then string the story together based on all of those different types of insights under the automations umbrella. a major point is also the team i work with. i can let them know what i'm looking for, and they work to find more insights those specific topics.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

i feel like the product is very "sales enablement" focused. that's great, but CI is multifaceted. i'm using crayon to influence business strategy and product development, not to win deals. i wish there were more features catered to the rest of the CI world.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i use it to keep a general pulse on industry news, but as mentioned before, i'm mostly using crayon to figure out our competitors' product strategies. the research i do helps our product team develop a roadmap based on the current offerings in the industry.

  ### 16. Deliver strategic intelligence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa R. | VP Product Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The ability to gather and disseminate insights on competitor activity and the responsiveness of the customer success team

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I wish there were a way to track unlimited competitors at no additional cost, integrate with Chorus, and I'd love to see the board's UI and editor improved.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wanted to build out a CI program. The program has now evolved from one-off requests to a self-serve, searchable database of competitive intelligence.

  ### 17. Smart Product that is constantly improving.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward L. | Product Marketing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

What I like best about crayon is the ability to scale and expand the knowledge we have in the platform and how much information we share with our sales teams. It is helpful that there is a good balance of customization and templates for knowledge sharing on the Crayon platform.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Some of the customizations and abilities of Crayon require either a small/medium time investment or active help from our Crayon rep. I am looking forward to future self-service improvements to the platform. This feature may alleviate some of my concerns with the time investment in the product.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Crayon as an accessible "warehouse" for our competitive intelligence. Additionally, we are using it to assist our product marketing teams in analyzing our market competitors.

  ### 18. Powerful Insights and a highly responsive customer success team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James H. | Sr. Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon makes it easy to get insights from publicly available resources that would otherwise take too much time individually to gather. Some of my favorite features include:

 - Side-by-side comparisons of a company's website before and after they made page edits
 - Easy integration with Slack
 - The ability to see the A/B tests our competitors are launching
 - Ease of seeing which roles our competitors are hiring for and the ability to filter out normal roles vs. critical roles
 - Filtering by "analyst picks" ("analyst picks" don't come from industry analysts or anything like that, but rather from Crayon employees who monitor publicly available info and select what they feel is most meaningful. They will often include a brief description as to why they selected that piece as an "analyst pick")

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The Admin user interface could provide more capabilities. For example, if I want to change a team's level of access, I need to change each individual's access one at a time instead of "selecting all." I would also like to see more variety in the types of user roles beyond the three currently available.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

The power of Crayon comes from widespread adoption within your organization. You will get benefits from only one department using Crayon, but your impact increases with each additional department you can enable with Crayon, including product management, marketing, engineering, PR, AR, etc.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our main purposes in using Crayon include 1) to get faster insights into what is happening in our industry, specifically with our competitors, 2) learn what other media outlets are saying about our company beyond what we influence or use, 3) guide product management decisions based on what customers and competitors are saying.
Benefits we've realized include 1) improved alignment internally with access to a comprehensive CI tool (especially with Crayon's integration with Slack), 2) a more informed sales organization (they rarely go into a sales conversation without knowing the latest on our competitors), and 3) a better understanding of what our competitors are investing in, allowing us to infer why they are making those investments.

  ### 19. Alerting us to competitive intel, lightening-fast

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin L. | Director of Product Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I like how quickly Crayon surfaces insights and pushes them to the appropriate people. I like how easy it is to search inside of Crayon, and how my sales team can access just what they need via battlecards embedded in Salesforce.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I wish it also scanned paid ad copy as one of the insight types. I also wish there was an easier way to exclude certain types of insights from the feed (ex: some of the players in our market are public companies, and we get flooded with stock picks as an insight).

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a closer pulse on the market has allowed us to have a better sense of where we stand in the market and focus on ways to differentiate.

  ### 20. Great tool to gather insights and information

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The ability to gather a load of information in one place that everyone can access through the normal tool they use such as Salesforce is great. The two way commenting is good to help engagement between those finding the information and those using it. The analysis insights from Crayon are extremely useful at surfacing the key information to save time having to search for it.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Improvements have been made on the UI to make it much easier to enter information, however to make the information as inviting as possible to get the intended audience to use it has some limitations. Particularly for example when sales teams are viewing the information through salesforce and only a small window is given resulting in a lack of space to clearly see all the info. Idea could be to not have the comment box show the whole time and instead as an icon by the side that when clicked on opens the comments pane to give a wider view of the content.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Crayon is a great tool and gives you lots of insights. There is still a fair amount of research work that needs to be done, so make sure you have the resource available to do that and then keep the insights up to date.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem being solved in competitive market intelligence and the main benefit is having one source that holds all the information, rather than it being in different pockets of peoples inboxs or documents.

  ### 21. Lots of potential and great features!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The fact that all competitive information is centralized in one place and we can filter them based on different categories. The real-time information that I can get for my Battle Card and how that helps to keep our competitive information up-to-date always.
On top of that, the analyst comments and picks that are curated based on our interest is of great value to our team.
Constant updates and improvements to the platform are other good things about Crayon.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Not much I can think of. Crayon team did a great job adding features (that their competitors had) and updating their platform to be aligned with industry needs.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Get your hands on the tool as soon as you can and try to explore everything. The tool has a lot to offer.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking at tools that can help us gather more information in a shorter time. Crayon is helping our teams getting access to reliable and most recent information when trying to learn about competitors. It saves them time and effort, makes sure that they have all the insights they need in one centralized place, without having to go through different resources.

  ### 22. Excellent Tracking Resource

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I did CI for 7 years tracking competitors manually without a tool like Crayon. It is a gamechanger in helping to monitor the market. The ability to track, organize, and share content in a central place is incredibly helpful.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Crayon has great tools for building battlecards but they are somewhat limited. I've had conversations with the Crayon product team though and they seem engaged and ready to make enhancements. I look forward to the upcoming enhancements.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No real problems with Crayon. I've been using the tools for about 6 months now and it has been relatively painless for a new user. In my last job, I had to create battlecards in PowerPoint and upload to the company intranet. Crayon allows me to build the battlecards in the cloud and host on their site. Now I don't have to worry about someone downloading a PPT that goes out of date. The battlecard lives in the cloud so anytime it is accessed, the individual will always have the most current information.

  ### 23. Impactful and Easy-to-Use CI Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Misti A. | Senior Market Research Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon is very easy to use and intuitive. Our team has been able to create many battle cards and newsletters within the platform. The tool is robust, and there is a lot you can do with it. I like that you can search and filter for specific CI that matters most to you. And although not related directly to the tool, I have been impressed with our account team and their responsiveness to our questions, product feedback, and onboarding of team members.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

There are a couple of product features that our team has not liked and would like improved. For example, we would like for there to be a versioning function within the platform so in case other team members accidentally update a battle card, you can go back to a different version. Overall, I have been impressed with Crayon, and it has been a helpful tool to enhance and elevate our CI efforts.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Make sure you get a demo of the product and have a list of the required capabilities you are evaluating. That way you are able to effectively compare vendors and choose the best one for your needs.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our team uses Crayon for our CI efforts, including the collection of CI and the distribution of insights through assets like battle cards and newsletters. We now have metrics determine the utilization of these assets and a way to update and distribute CI assets to our internal teams easily.

  ### 24. Crayon helps put on the insights I need for strategic business analysis at the forefront

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan R. | Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon aggregates sources throughout the web, highlighting important indicators and changes. The analysts help us customize our experience and summarize key insights on our behalf.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Not all news mentions and sources are relevant. Sometimes they are redundant and I'll see variations of the same insight throughout my feed.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Work closely with your support team at Crayon. They will help you get the most out of the product. It's very versatile and becomes more beneficial the more you customize it to your specific needs.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Crayon to gather and share market insights relevant to the shipping industry. With Crayon aggregating sources for me, I have something very close to a one-stop-shop for all my needs. It helps me save time and discover new sources of information. The collaborative features also help keep the team informed and up-to-date.

  ### 25. Daily notion about competitors

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Larissa B. | Market and Competitive intelligence intern, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

With Crayon we can monitor what competitors are doing and predict the behavior of the market, competitors, and our consumers. Also, with battle cards, we manage to let our sellers know about our competitors.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I think the issue of updating information about competitors on battlecards should be better since weekly they add features, launch products, or expand. So, we can't update this all the time, just monthly, which is bad as we can pass on information that is no longer real

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon updates us on what our competitors are doing to find out what to do and how to act on specific releases or market trends. Furthermore, in a negotiation, we have more arguments about the competitors since we are always in tune.

  ### 26. Amazing competitive intelligence tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric S. | Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I love their intel feed and the battlecard features. It makes it so easy to keep track of and manage all of our battlecards.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I wish that I could combine saved searches on the boards

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Be sure to leverage your relationship with your account manager and analyst to help you identify more ways to use Crayon more effectively. Also, the Slack community is good and continues to grow and has been a great resource for us.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Crayon to help us know what our competitors are doing. That includes new funding they've raised, new products their launching, updates to their site, etc. We also use it for our battlecard management for our sales team. We'll create detailed battlecards on competitors to help train our sales teams and they can access them directly from Salesforce

  ### 27. it's been great- I wish there were better customization options to design battlecards.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** anthony t. | manager- sales effectiveness, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

the tile layouts are great- insights function as well.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

need better capabilties for design- adding photos, moving them around and having a complete customize options- i feel it is lacking in this area.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

great tool- design options need to be enhanced so it's more modern.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

deisgn mainly- i need more options to customize. Today I have to use paint and copy images with font into the tool. would be great if i had the same options as I would in paint as an example.

  ### 28. Battlecards rock for competitive info

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse S. | Account Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Setting up battlecards for specific competitors or even specific services to compare what competitors offer is super great (1) for new reps learning how we compare and (2) easy to update as new information is learned so we can stay up to date

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The layout is sometimes hard to navigate on a call. It would be awesome if there was a reactive way to jump around the card as the conversation flows that would be great.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitive comparisons have been the main focus for my team when using Crayon. That being said, it's been great to get the emails on updates to websites or wording on competitors to see how they're changing their language. This has definitely affected how I've gone about conversations with customers when they bring up updates.

  ### 29. Fast competitive insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon makes it easy to keep our fingers on the pulse of our many competitors and share insights across different teams. I love the fact that we can share new insights or add relevant articles to battle cards as well.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The user interface to create battle cards is not as intuitive as hoped, and it would be helpful to have access to additional customization features, such as color coding. It'd also be beneficial if we could export battle cards in PDF format.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Simply give it a try!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of competitors without doing manual research, how we compare to competitors (win/loss), sharing insights with relevant sales, product, and marketing teams.

  ### 30. Good intel, without manual work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabe F. | Head Of Product Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Messaging insights let me know when competitors make any changes to their websites. I see before and after screenshots without having to check their sites daily. Google alerts work well for news mentions, but Crayon gives you the entirety of your competitors' digital footprint. It's very affordable, especially if you don't have a team dedicated to keeping up with everything a competitor puts out publicly.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Our Sales team mostly sees the email alerts. Those alerts come every day (as long as there is something new). I wish there was a setting to only send our Sales team a weekly email with the important stuff. Sending an email with only the important insights is doable with current functionality but there is no setting to alert the team only once a week.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem we solve is enough resources to keep up with all competitors. The benefit is significant time savings.

  ### 31. A Great Competitive Marketing Intelligence Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolae T. | Product Marketing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

It's easy-to-use, intuitive, with extraordinary support. Crayon has really helped us keep our fingers on the pulse of the main competition out there and use all the great insights to empower our sales team. Besides a couple of tiny nuances that really depend on how you're using this platform, I'd say that if you're looking for a market inteliigence tool, Crayon is the one.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Exporting/downloading competitive battlecards could be a bit easier. It'd be great if one could simply download a battlecard in PDF format and send it to whoever suitable. Also, battlecard customization could be a bit better. There are only 3 layouts/views for battlecards and it's not always easy to edit them the way you specifically want (for example, color coding when working with a competitive table seems to be off limits).

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collecting competitive data and receiving live insights into our main competitors has been excellent for empowering the sales team and overall market awareness. Salespeople don't always have the time/means to properly keep up with the fast-paced craziness that is the MSP market. That's why we the product marketers leverage Crayon to help them out with staying ahead of the latest industry news and arm them with critical insights that they need in order to maintain that competitive edge.

  ### 32. A must-have for your business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelsey S. | Competitive Enablement Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

It provides updates and allows you to really scope out competition. Save time and time is money! I am able to choose and sort what types of updates I am interested in. This allows you to remove specific areas that you may not have interest in but keep intelligence on stuff that you need to see. My favorite part is the intelligence on recent reviews and positions that the competition is hiring for. This is super helpful because you can see what areas they are planning to build out and adjust your strategy.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

When you are in a space with so many competitors, it can be cluttered at times. However, it is essential to see everything, and there have been so many times where I almost missed something because a lot is being posted all at once. I do not necessarily want to subscribe to less topics but I sometimes miss certain things that I wish I could have seen.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

This will definitely help you save time.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of having to manually search for these specific updates or hearing from word-of-mouth through social sites, you are able to find many aspects of what is going on in your competition or your space through updates. There is an insane amount of information that can be found in places you would never even imagine. It would be legitimately impossible to collect all of this information without Crayon. If you do not have access to this tool, then you lose so much time and so much intel that you could have easily integrated into your strategy for the future.

  ### 33. Great tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel B. | UK Marketing Campaign Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon provides up-to-date and interesting insights into our competitors on a daily basis. The staff are friendly are easy to deal with.

If you want to stay up to date with your competitors, but don't want to scroll through Google and their websites, this is the tool for you.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

This solution satisfy my needs, I don't see any great weaknesses.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increased visibility of competitors.

  ### 34. Zero to one - great product to get your competitive intel machine rolling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam C. | Group Product Marketing Manager, CIAM Strategy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon is our one-stop shop for battlecards/playbooks, for our 1000+ employees in sales/customer success organizations, spanning our Tier 1-3 competitors. It is the place we send our pre-sales, and customer success organizations to help manage competitive insights. Prior to Crayon, we had redundant documents (wikis, emails, Google Docs) and disparate sources of competitive intel; with Crayon, we build all things compete into one place. The Slack integrations help curate even better competitive insights than we previously had. It's boosted the role and legitimacy of competitive intel across our Sales and Marketing functions - content is easily accessible, digestible, and it's up to date. Our organization has a dedicated CSM - who has been amazing throughout our journey into Crayon.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

No dislikes. Helpful tips - a tool doesn't replace a process. Retraining the field muscle to leverage the breadth of Crayon is a must for long-term success.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon is the foundation for our competitive intel sourcing, curation, and reference. It has reduced the many sources of compete data (wiki, Google Drive, Slack, Email) to one spot, increased the quality of competitive data, and increased our sales team's confidence in competitive intel.

  ### 35. Crayon is extremely easy to use and user friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben T. | Sr. Solutions Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I am primarily a consumer of content from Crayon. However, I have also been a contributor. The UI is very user-friendly and it's easy to navigate to the sections that are most valuable to me. I like having the ability to customize my feed so the most relevant content is presented first.

When it comes to adding new content this was a breeze and I was easily able to import content from other sources or create fresh content with ease.

We also have Crayon integrated with our Salesforce instance. This makes looking for content or attaching relevant details to an open opportunity or account simple and straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Honestly, there's not much here. The tool does everything that I expected it to do. It took little time to become familiar with the capabilities and begin setting up battlecards and insights on our competitors.

From what I can see, all the Battlecards are only available in an online view. It would be nice to be able to generate an offline/print view.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Give Crayon a try!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By having the competitor data directly in Salesforce attached to opportunities, our sales team can easily get insights on the competitors our prospects and customers are using. Prior to having Crayon we had information in various places in multiple formats. This made it difficult to find the most up-to-date info. Now we can update the competitor info in 1 place and have it available for consumption.

  ### 36. Foundational tool for competitive intel function!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan T. | Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2020

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The intelligence is great! It really helps our team stay on top of our competition, find intel we wouldn't be able to find otherwise, and create a regular process around competitive intelligence. We use Crayon as our central competitive intelligence tool, it does a great job indexing all the different activity going on in the market and distilling it down into intelligence so we gain a clear picture of what our competition is doing. The win/loss capabilities are great too! Makes it really easy to see win rates by competitors and slice the data over time.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The content editing tools for the battlecards is a little clumsy and the layouts are sometimes hard to manipulate. I like that they're integrated and easy to update, but getting them to look the way that you want them to is tricky.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

If you're interested in monitoring and differentiating from your competition, Crayon is a great tool. There's lots of intel you can gain from monitoring competitors' web activity, and Crayon does a great job aggregating this and distilling it down so it's easy to see trends. If you're responsible for messaging, content marketing, sales enablement, market/competitive intelligence, there's likely something valuable that Crayon will find to help you in your role.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon is serving as our central hub for all things competitive intel, allowing us to catch more competitive intel and create a regular process around how we track, analyze and distribute intel about our competitors. Before, we were collecting bits of ad hoc info, field intel, stories etc. in a bunch of different locations. Crayon gives us an intelligence collection engine and a central place to store all of the intel we collect from across or ecosystem.

  ### 37. Competitive Intel through Crayon has helped saved a lot of customer renewals!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tommy F. | Customer Success Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I currently utilize Crayons Battlecards as a Customer Success Manager. They have allowed me and others on my team to save customer renewals from being lost to competitors. Having talking points and comparisons at my fingertips when I'm having these difficult conversations has made them more accesible and more effective. The battlecards have been a great help to me in undertanding and keeping up with the competitive landscape in my industry, great training aid!

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The "main menu" doesn't have the best look or feel, but once you get into the Battlecards the UI is much better. I think the mobile view could be better as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Crayon is an excellent sales and enablement tool, but you need a team to keep up with it and make appropriate updates.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customers often price shop during renewals, having the competitive intel to back up our prices and why they should stay with us vs. competitors is the most significant benefit for my role.
Customers also come to me with questions about features and functionality that often fall outside my knowledge base and having Crayon has allowed me to find answers quickly.

  ### 38. Excellent to get informed of competitive changes without having to dig for them,

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel R. | Sr. Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The weekly summary brings just the right amount of updates I need to know about.
Being able to add related web sites and pages allows me to taylor very easily sources that are frequently missed. E.g. if your competitor has public facing release notes, customer forums or other sutes that are not directly linked to the main site you can add them and keep informed of changes on those areas too.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Some times information is repetitive, but cuold be side effect of the web sites. See my comments below recommending to track redirects and other changes in your target URLs to avoid missing important information, or getting too much repetitive information. I know the capabilities of automatically following changes in the source pages might be limited by several desing constrains of the web site you are trying to track, but a bit of AI may help on resolving those limitations.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

sign up and try it, every vertical and set of competitors is different, so you need to fine tune your preferences. Study the wed sites and sources you want to track. some times web sites are poorly designed and repeat news or information in some places, in other cases they have redirects that you may need to explicitely include or exclude as separate sources of information.
Keep your sources up to date, keep in mind mergers, acquisitions or companies going out of the market to avoid missing important information or getting too much.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Get timely and accurate information on new offerings or changes to competitive offerings, mostly based on targetted web sites/pages that I can customize.
Saving a lot of time on searhing and digging information from web sites and pages related to my competitors.
Industry related information / publications / analysts and other agregated soruces are also simarized based on your preferences, making it easier to follow and be up to date with your industry.

  ### 39. Helping me build a competitive program

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gretha L. | Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon's monitoring capabilities are incredibly helpful. We monitor a broad spectrum of competitors; there is no way I'd be able to stay on top of all of their digital activities manually. Crayon makes it easy to see what they're up to and share insights quickly with the field.

I also love that the insights can be tied into other components: real-time conversations in slack, our Crayon battlecards, monthly newsletter (Boards), etc.

We're building a competitive program from the ground-up, essentially, and Crayon has been the foundation for this. It's been really helpful.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I don't really have any complaints at this time. We had a bit of a rocky start with our first CSM, but their team jumped in right away when we raised a flag to get us up and running with a new CSM -- who is fantastic, I should add.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem Crayon is helping us solve is monitoring our competitors' digital activities. We are a small team, and Crayon has become essential to helping us stay on top of competitor movement. We are able to share updates in a timely fashion and it shows our field team and other stakeholders that we are being proactive.

  ### 40. CTO

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

We use the Weekly Digests keep an eye on competition and changes in the market.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

It is a little hard to get others engaged sometimes

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It removes doubt and questions on the activities of our competition, partners, and customers

  ### 41. Intuitive CI tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon makes it easy to stay on top of and share competitive intelligence. The content it aggregates is always relevant, and the team at Crayon is quick to adjust for any noise if we have any hiccups. Plus, the platform is very user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Very minor, but it would be nice to be able to visually distinguish battlecards of different groups a little better. Right now there is a drop-down menu to categorize battlecards into groups, but it can easily get lost when scanning the list. For companies with multiple battlecards and products in more than 1 market, this could get messy.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our teams are much more informed on competitive intelligence across the organization. Crayon centralizes any news, intel, and general information so that teams are more aligned and knowledgeable. It also saves me so much time staying on top of competitor updates in an organized way.

  ### 42. Crayon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon allows you to see all your insights in one place. You can even customize your feed and filter it. It also allows you to save specific searches.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Sometimes I can get overwhelmed with the number of filters on the side, but once you figure it out, it's a great tool to have!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benefits include seeing your team activity, such as what they post and comment on. This is great to see what's popular and being talked about most within your team.

  ### 43. Crayon is worth a try

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I like the format of crayon's platform. It is very easy to navigate as a new user.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I think Crayon's analytics section could be boosted to show more details.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think Crayon has majorly helped our sales team as it gives them more knowledge on how to sell our product in comparison to our competitors. You see so much insights on this platform that would not be shared accurately without the tool.

  ### 44. Crayon - digital intelligence one click ahead

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna S. | P, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I like best to filter by company and source of information like a forum, article, etc. The convenient option is to share articles with colleagues and chance of making notes

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The fact that I cannot find intel on my own company - to see how others perceive us

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Business Intelligence tools are highly vital to organizations for delivering up-to-date and exciting products, as Product Manager can save their time on market research. Thanks to Crayon, I get what I need from the large volumes of data collected.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a Product Manager, I need to be up to date with competitors` features and novelties on the market; without Crayon, I would have to look at various subject-related portals. Crayon enables me to save time on market research by providing relevant and up-to-date info at the desired frequency.

  ### 45. A great Media Intelligence solution!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

*Insight collection & categorization capabilities are excellent
*The analytics are accurate & high value
*Their team is educated, professional and fun to work with

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

*The product lacks support for simultaneous tile edits.
*The UI isn't as polished as others and can be frustrating at times.
*Documentation is adequate but has room to improve.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1). Scale: Crayon aggregates more sources than we can manually check.
2). Activate: Crayon helps us guide Sellers competitive direction globally

I like that they send us tailored updates and give an explanation of the details included in the updates.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

It would be nice to have competitor comparisons built out for us and access to funding information.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

It does give great insights on competitors, but it doesn't have all the information that one might hope to see.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are giving our team more information about competitors that they didn't have before. This has helped us with future planning for features we are developing.

  ### 48. Crayon is a great tool to for younger representatives to gain knowledge of competitors that.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hunter K. | Sales Representative, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Battle cards for direct competitor info.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

As great as Crayon is, sometimes you need a particular competitor and a precise comparison, which can become challenging to find. This isn't as large of an issue if you are at home and have time to spend on this, but if you are out in the field and need to hurry, this can be a pain.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

It saves alot of time when you are in the field.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the problems that I can solve is my lack of industry knowledge with other products due to being a new rep. This knowledge has allowed me to go into situations sounding more seasoned and giving the customer confidence in my abilities to assist them.

  ### 49. Great technology & people

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Word editor for formatting battlecards is pretty basic. Would be great to be able to convert things website updates and battlecards to pdf.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Talk to other users to learn best practices

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding a quickly evolving market landscape.
