## Crayon Reviews
 ### 1. Competitive Intelligence, made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon centralizes competitive intelligence information in one place (for folks on the competitive intelligence team) and integrates with existing systems for consumers to easily find insights within their existing tool of choice. Whether it be a message in Slack on the latest release from a competitor or a battle card directly embedded within Salesforce. It even allows for crowd-sourcing of competitive insights with browser extensions to allow consumers to submit new content.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

While curated content from our competitive intelligence team is great, as a consumer, it can be overwhelming to comb through all the content for the most important and relevant insights for me. It would be interesting to see if this was automated in the future.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon makes it easier to find and distribute critical content on our competitors to help PMs stay up to date and sales reps and engineers be more successful in the opportunities they are pursuing.

 ### 2. Crayon make your Competitive Intelligence Future BRIGHT!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Ease of use and customer support via onboarding manager/ training.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Tons of product development down the road so i bet what I "like least" about Crayon will be rectified down the road like a more perosnalized experience for Revenue and Support Team memebers.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitor awareness and helping with win-rate against compeititon

 ### 3. Intuitive platform to help formalize competitive intelligence program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Austin C. | Product Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I had never used Crayon prior to this role. I came into this role to help revamp our competitive intelligence program. I quickly learned the basic ins and outs of the platform and refreshed our existing competitive battlecards rather smoothly.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I wish Crayon had the functionality to automatically populate competitive intelligence beyond company info, recent news mentions, or reviews. Right now, if a competitor comes out with new messaging or launches a new product, there's still a level of compiling, distilling, and analysis required that results in manual effort to update collateral for our go-to-market teams. Additionally, if there were pre-built templates for sections of the battlecard like "past wins", "objection handling", "landmines to plant", etc., that would be a huge time-saver.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon helps us consolidate and centralize all our competitive intelligence into a single platform that makes it easier for cross-functional teams to consume and digest. The automated competitor tracking also provides a pulse on our competition to help us stay in the know and update collateral accordingly. This also allows for greater visibility and collaboration across Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product, etc.

 ### 4. Crayon: the catalyst for our CI program!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trevor J. | Market Insights & Business Development Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Implementing Crayon in our organization has taken our CI program to the next level. I like that we define our landscape as we see it, can get really granular on articles the platform "feeds" to us based on saved searches, and the board building is very intuitive for the user and is in an easy-to-read format for the information consumer. I also like how easy it is to integrate with our other internal systems, especially Slack.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The only downfall I have seen is that sometimes niche, industry-specific articles may not get picked up by the AI. However, with the easy integration with Slack, it is very simple to add that intel into the portal via Slack channels.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Crayon has solved our tracking and communicating of activity across the landscape with the organization. We have saved searches set up and create weekly boards that get shared with the organization so that everyone is up-to-date. It also helps us prepare for executive team meetings and board meetings, having a repository of activity at our fingertips that we have curated over time and can easily report on when asked.

 ### 5. I enjoy Crayon's functionality and working with their team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Genny G. | Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

There are a few things I like about Crayon. One, their Customer Success team is very helpful. My CSM does a great job of keeping me in the loop (in terms of new product features) and providing me with best practices. For example, I recently told her our Sales team didn't like the format of our battlecards, so I asked how other customers organize theirs. She created a template for me to use right after the call. Two, my organization loves the integration capabilities. We like being able to surface the battlecards in Salesforce and collect intel via an integration with Slack. Three, the most obvious, it automatically scrapes the internet for information, making it easier (and quicker) to track our competitors.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

You can tell when a battlecard was last updated, which is useful, but not what information was updated. I'd like to know this since I am not the one updating every battlecard, but I am responsible for making sure they are up-to-date. Another thing I do not love is that the battlecards need to be manually maintained. What I mean by this is one of Crayon's biggest assets is that it can scrape the internet for competitive information, however, it is up to you to add the analysis or make sure you pull the key information out of that article and incorporate it into the battlecard.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon is helping us centralize our competitive information as well as provide an avenue through which people can submit intel. It is also helping us streamline the process of collecting competitive information.

 ### 6. Powerful CI Tool for Our Organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex D. | Business Operations Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Julie guided us through a quick and seamless implementation and has been encouraging us to increase our utilization by taking advantage of additional tools that have become available since our go-live.

Since implementing Crayon, our marketing, sales, and product teams have been able to reference up-to-date competitive intelligence in one unified location. The slack integration allows us to increase our internal dialogue across multiple teams when discussing changes in the marketplace.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The initial slack integration can create a lot of noise, potentially drowning out vital intel that we want to highlight. We are still optimizing this as we update competitors we want to track on a Pro level.

You also cannot go back and attribute revenue to Crayon for Closed-Won deals Crayon influenced if the deals were closed before your Salesforce environment was correctly synced.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Operating in a marketplace with immense competition, Crayon has allowed us to be more thoughtful about how our product can stack up.

Our AE’s love the battle cards being available to them quickly, through the Slack integration by typing a few keywords or directly from their open opportunities in Salesforce.

 ### 7. Fantastic tool for Product Marketing and Sales teams!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francesca R. | Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

As a solo PMM, finding the time to carry out competitive analysis as well as keep all intel organized in a single source of truth can prove difficult. So, when our organization implemented Crayon, it allowed us to scale the Product Marketing function as Crayon takes on the job of a research analyst, freeing up time for other priority PMM initiatives. It also enabled all CI to be migrated to a single platform as opposed to having it housed in different Google slide decks that make it difficult for Sales to find what they're looking for. Now, all our battlecards exist in the same place and can also be easily accessed through the Salesforce and Slack integrations.

There are other areas of Crayon that are really interesting too, like Boards that allow you to curate newsletter-style updates for various teams across your organization based on the intel Crayon has captured. The Impact module shines a light on our win/loss rates and monitors competitive frequency and how it evolves across time frames, regions, or verticals so we're able to anticipate and adapt to our ever-changing market.

Most importantly, our experience with Crayon's CS team has been fantastic. Jake is a superstar CSM who is friendly and positive, always able to answer our questions and show us different ways to make the most out of Crayon.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Nothing to declare here! So far, so good

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scaling the PMM function; uncovering competitive intel in real-time; making it easy for salespeople to quickly find the CI they're looking for

 ### 8. Amazing Team, Insightful, Easy-to-use Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dawn S. | Senior Director of Product Marketing & Brand, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The Crayon team. I appreciate that if I have a question, straightforward or complex, the Crayon support team and our customer service rep respond immediately and work quickly to help us understand what we are missing or document an idea for future product enhancement. I am also impressed by the upgrades made available during the past year. They are very useful and add value to the product, enhancing the experience and adoption by my broader team.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

There is no downside to using Crayon. We struggle to get pricing information from sellers to be used in battle cards. Perhaps there is an opportunity for information to be flagged directly from Salesforce. The Slack integration is excellent and we use this today to do a great job of getting real-time info out and back into the battle cards.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Integrate with other systems in your organization so more users contribute and consume information.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proactively gathering information about companies in our space. Consolidating this information into a central location and aggregating that information to be consumed by multiple groups across our organization. Integration with tools such as Salesforce and Slack has made the use of Crayon more quickly adopted by sales and product groups in our organization.

 ### 9. Saved me from manual competitive intel hell.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony G. | Senior Directory, Technical Product Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The platform is stable. No downtime experienced. Simple to draft, publish, and share intel with our internal teams. Features such as the Battlecards are great as a prime content source for our sellers. Syncing pages between battle cards avoids re-work and inconsistencies.
I like blending my intel/research with curated intel straight from the Crayon platform that's constantly updated. I also really like being alerted to new intel along with Analyst Picks - kind of a TLDR from a real Crayon analyst when a competitor makes changes to their web site/content.
We also use competitive Slack channels, so being able to tag and push Slack posts directly to Crayon so they feed into specific Boards and Battlecards is great.
Once or twice per month, I can go straight to a board that includes a saved search pulling those labeled items into the board for easy 1-stop review and processing.
Customer service is top-notch. Super helpful is our assigned Customer Success Manager, Julie. Any time I have a question or issue, she's on the ball. I often get a video-recorded reply showing a solution. If I need more - she's already recommending a live call.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Nothing yet. I haven't ventured much beyond the Boards and Battlecards, but I'm sure there's a ton of unrecognized value from the Insights section that I need to discover.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From my perspective, reducing manual effort in trawling for competitive intel myself; the related challenge of keeping my content current; and smarts to filter out the noise so I get only the most relevant intel.
From our sellers' perspective - having comprehensive, up-to-date, competitive data to help them in their deals, now.

 ### 10. Crayon is a need to have, not a nice to have.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kait S. | Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon streamlines the competitive intelligence efforts I'm tasked with, and allows me to create powerful battlecards, reports and newsletters that keep field teams abreast on what's happening in our space. As a PMM, I can tie my efforts directly to closed-won revenue with their Salesforce integration, see how we're tracking in our competitive deals and share that information with my leadership. They're constantly building the right things to make my role easier and more impactful. I can't say enough wonderful things about this product, my CSM Jake L. and the company.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Nothing at all, if you're on the fence about purchasing Crayon-- you need to. Its one of the most important tools in the marketing tech stack and a competitive intelligence lead's best friend.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon solved our need for market and competitive intelligence and provided the tools to do it at scale. Not only are our sales team digesting information, our product managers and CSMs have a better understanding of differentiators and our market as whole, which enables them to perform better when building the product or speaking with clients.

 ### 11. The Writing is on the Wall: Crayon Rocks Comp Intel

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zach N. | Product Marketing Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Before discussing the product, you have to start with their organization. They run a fantastic sales process, support new and experienced CI people with a plethora of quality content, and their CS team (specifically our CSM) are incredibly dedicated and responsive.

And they have a great product. From the moment they give you access, you can see insights about your competition that would take a lot of manual digging around to find out. The platform is easy to use and integrates with all the systems your Sales and CS team work with — Salesforce, Gong, Gmail, Slack, Guru, and Chrome, for example.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The battle card editor is a little clunky, and I wish I had more control over the look and feel of the final battle cards.

All my other feedback so far is pretty minor.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were tasked with building a CI platform from the ground up — without having any full-time headcount dedicated to the program.

So we needed a platform that could surface high-quality intel, allow us to organize it all, and then empower our various teams — Sales, CS, Product, Exec, and Marketing — to find and use the information to compete.

 ### 12. An Intuitive Place to Consolidate all of your Competitive Intelligence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Milos B. | Sales Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

- The ability to see all of my major competitors on a single page makes content easy to find and share across the organization
- Integration into Microsoft Apps also makes it easy to get others to use it, instead of asking me to click through
- Very interested to see how the "Submit New Intel" will be integrated into Salesforce, as well as the auto-generated "Battlecards" once a competitor is tagged inside a SFDC Opportunity

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I think the top ribbon can sometimes be unintuitive and easy to miss. There is a ton of helpful stuff on other tabs, in our case "Boards" that I think gets overlooked. It should stand out more in my opinion, maybe be larger?

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to have my Account Executives always message me for content on Competitive Intelligence. Centralizing it in Crayon enabled me to direct them to the application, which cut down the number of times I would need to look for content by 80%!

 ### 13. User Friendly Interface and a great competitive Intel tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon lets you customize the battle cards and track how each product competes against its competitors. You can customize the topic battle cards and build structure and categories on the platform per your focus areas. Competitive win/loss reports benefit the sales, marketing and product management teams.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

It will be helpful to have access to a rating score card /matrix for each solution against the competitors.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitor Analysis and resent developments in the industry

 ### 14. Great CI Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Olivia F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I love being able to review and manage important updates from the industry all in one place. Tons of automation which makes it easy to curate updates for my team.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

There are so many insights that at times, it can be overwhelming. However, there are many filtering options to filter in only what you need.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon helps us automate industry updates

 ### 15. All PMMs need this software!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah V. | Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon has taken a massive weight off of my shoulders. It has given me the ability to update our battlecards in a matter of seconds rather than trying to create battlecards in powerpoint. Crayon's intel is incredible and I truly feel like I can find all of the information that I need to share with our sales team and higher!

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

It's hard to dislike crayon when it is such an amazing tool! The one suggestion I would have is to create integrations with maybe something like Canva or Adobe so that PMMs can share out the intel and analysis in different ways!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon created software that helps product marketing managers (like me) be able to create battle cards that are automatically updated with relevant information that not only benefit me but also the sales and supporting teams.

 ### 16. Crayon keeps our sales team aligned by having all of our competitive information in one place

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike M. | Director of Sales Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayons team is fantastic to work with! They provide continuous updates on new features as well as make sure you're using their tool most efficiently and successfully as possible. The ability to have custom tiles per battlecard helps us add specific scripts by competitor to set us up for success when adding new customers or retaining current customers.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Anything that i have run across where I thought there was an easier way to perform a task in Crayon, they add it into their tool so i don't have any dislikes at the moment.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One-stop shop for all competitive intel. Equip our lead generation team with quick scripts to increase our prospect count and our sales team with meaningful/actionable information to set them up for success to close more business.

 ### 17. Strong competitive monitoring tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily H. | Product Marketer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon's support and CSM team are strong. They are responsive to issues and help answer questions, typically within a day. The product team is extremely responsive to feedback. Crayon has a solid integration with both Salesforce and Slack, allowing us to pass information to relevant internal teams quickly and easily. The battlecards and sales enablement tools work well for our use case.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Sometimes the tool can be a little buggy and there are data concerns such as insights appearing late or not at all. Their support team is responsive to these requests.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon is helping us keep up with our competitors and track their activity within the market. Additionally, we are able to roll out this new information to our sales teams.

 ### 18. Competitive insight across the entire sales channel

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** TJ C. | Chief Operating Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Competitive Intelligence becomes extremely valuable when it can be accessed when you need it, whether in SalesForce, Slack, Teams, or Hubspot.

The system lets sales teams know more about the competition in real-time. Curating new product offerings, pricing, or acquisition intelligence enables them to formulate a sales strategy that equates to better win rates.

From a market standpoint, tracking a competitor's direction over time and analyzing these trends can be essential for internal roadmap planning.

Crayon backs up their product and services with GREAT customer service that go above and beyond without ever being asked!

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Companies that don't listen to their clients, but Crayon listens to its customers! As a result, one important piece that could be beneficial in closing the sales process loop has recently been added to their offering – Impact Win/Loss Reason.

I've met a few reps who've told me, "I never feel like I lose a deal because I learn something beneficial from every deal." The top sales professionals continually get better over time by using this rationale.

With this new feature added, you can now pinpoint win/loss data that often can be difficult to ascertain. In addition, this performance data will enable sales management to curate the findings into new training that will win future deals.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitive Intelligence in the past was only as good as the individual rep who uncovered it. Keeping it up to date was just about impossible, and accessing it when needed could be problematic.

Crayon solves all of that in real-time, and allowing access from multiple points makes it easy for busy sales professionals. As a result, sales teams feel more confident going into competitive engagements knowing they have the latest Intelligence and won't be blindsided by a competitor offering something "NEW."

 ### 19. Intuitive, reliable and time saving!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

1. Platform is stable, easy to navigate and always delivers the latest intel on time
2. Integrations are great - our teams use intel that is fed into Slack channels, but we also use Gong, Salesforce, and Highspot.
3. The tool is constantly being updated, which is great
4. The CSM team is a strong feature and an important part of the experience. Carly has been super easy to deal with, she is quick to respond and always ensures we make the most of Crayon
5. It's a great repository for intelligence, and allows you to make the battle cards your own.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I feel that although Crayon introduces a lot of new features frequently, what I am missing is access on the go for our GTM and I'd love to see more dynamic/visually appealing content, that is for example more dashboards in the win/loss section (to include win/loss ratio, I think at this point there is the overall win/rate only)

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon most importantly saves me time and effort to trawl the internet. The platform is well known amongst the reps and has good engagement.

 ### 20. The most complete competitive intelligence platform out there

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Spencer H. | Competitive Intelligence Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The ability to consolidate all competitive assets in a single repository. In addition, it enables more efficient and broader communication between sales, product, and marketing via native comment features. Finally, the ability to submit intel from the field allows us to react faster to changing market conditions.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Since Crayon pulls in news mentions from a lot of different sources, some the data it retrieves is mostly noise so you spend a little time combing through it all. However, it is still less time spent than collecting all the news yourself or through Google Alerts.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collecting competitive information, streamlining the development of competitive assets for sales, and broader communication across teams and departments. This all keeps competitive intelligence in the fore front of peoples' minds.

 ### 21. Driving action through insight

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I've long been a fan of the time savings and manual effort reductions we achieve through the use of our Crayon engine. Beyond this, the platform is a fantastic tool for us to engage our wider organisation, drive meaningful responses to competitor actions and enable a more strategic approach to both business development and retention.

The robust tools for archiving and retrieving content ensures no insight is overlooked or lost.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The ongoing development in the crayon platform, and the attentiveness of their account management team allows us to continually drive improvements with both tools and engagement - In short, there's little to dislike.

Further tools to transition saved content from Lite to Full profiles would be useful, as would a tagging system for industry-wide intel that would allow broadly applicable content to appear in cross-competitor searching would be some minor QOL improvements I'd love to see.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Take a demo - The system speaks for itself and can add plenty of value to your program.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time and accessibility to critical content continues to be a game changer for or organisation - Content is infinite, time, is all too often, not. Having a toolset which allows swift access to shared intel, curated insights and takes down the number of clicks needed to access observations, insights and associated strategies from our SMEs around the business makes our toolset with Crayon of supreme value in making the time people can commit to competitor research well spent and of greater value.

 ### 22. Selecting and Implementing Crayon for Competitive Intelligence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon meets all the requirements of the intelligence process and its workflows. It delivers a wide range of information and comprehensively monitors our competitor's digital footprint. It provides easy-to-use functionality to collect field intelligence and allows users to comment and label content so it can be organized and shared. Its efficient workflows give me more time to analyze and add perspective to the content, so our users get clear, concise, and actionable intelligence they can use.

The customer services has also been excellent. The customer success managers with whom I have worked are knowledgeable and helpful and have gone the extra mile to ensure our implementation was successful.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

There are small areas I would like to see Crayon improve, but there are no significant issues so far.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon is helping improve our workflow and deliver content and analysis to a broader audience. Our team is one person, so having a comprehensive, steady flow of information with easier ways to manage it and add analysis was imperative to improve our deliverables.

 ### 23. Game changer for scaling our competitive program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen W. | Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon unlocks significant capacity for our competitive team by automating tedious tasks and serving up insights in easy, digestible, and engaging ways. The platform is sleek, with no shortage of formatting options to create the battle cards and boards of your dreams. The team is knowledgeable, attentive, and eager to engage. Most of all, our reps love using it and we can easily measure adoption and impact, which are through the roof!

It checks all the boxes of delivering the right news, at the right time, in the right ways.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Nothing to dislike. Everything has been great so far.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Crayon, we had a highly manual process of collecting and distributing insights across the org. We tried to solve this with a Crayon competitor, but struggled with adoption – we could track insights, but couldn't get anyone to engage enough to read them. Instead, reps and crossfunctional partners were asking the same questions over and over. With Crayon, we can now easily stay up to date on market moves and our team loves using the platform. Reps and partners can easily self-serve intel and our team has significant time back to focus on more strategic work.

 ### 24. Using Crayon every single day

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

As a new rep at my org, I'm learning about new competitors in my space every single day. While I don't need to know every single detail about them, Crayon allows me to have simple talking points to shift the conversation in my favor. We use the Gong integration, so I can hear real-life examples of how to handle competitive objections, which is a game-changer. The layout of competitive information is easy to digest and very accessible (inside Slack and Okta).

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Sometimes I'm not sure when Battlecards have new updates which would be nice to see.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been at organizations where competitive intelligence was strictly tribal knowledge, and I didn't know where to find it or who to ask. Crayon allows me to get up to speed with our competitors at my own pace by having a library of actionable competitive intel, not just recent news articles or press releases.

 ### 25. A Powerful Way to Boost CI Processes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon compiles comprehensive data, and has many configuration settings, allowing you to see what you want to see. Battlecards and boards create great communication channel for distributing info without extra noise. Wonderful tool.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Crayon's interface (specifically editors) can be a bit buggy and primitive. However, they more than make up for this with support showing you workarounds, and improving the interface all the time. In just one year, I have seen at least two major pain points addressed and corrected.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon allows me to sift through information in the marketplace and distribute it to reps where they need it and how they need it by integrating with Highspot and Salesforce. I can be in charge of what they need to see and they can seamlessly view in just in time.

 ### 26. Great onboarding experience and customer support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Gambling & Casinos | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I like how many different ways there are to see our own and competitor updates and how the product can be integrated into Slack and email. Additionally, our support representatives have been excellent and are willing to listen to suggestions on how I feel individual product characteristics can be improved.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

There are not, to my knowledge, ways to automate some exports the way I can on some other website that I pull data from more frequently. Additionally, it can be difficult to schedule meetings sometimes, may more customer service reps would be helpful.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon helps us understand more broadly how our competitors are performing relative to us on social media and how their promotions compare to ours. We recently reactivated the partnership with Crayon, so I do not know the business value yet.

 ### 27. Our central hub of competitive intelligence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trevor L. | Senior Product Marketing Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon works perfectly as our central repository of competitive intelligence. The intelligence collection is good, but the best part is having a trusted, central place to store and manage intelligence. The slack integration is also very useful.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

It requires some effort to tune out irrelevant insights. You'll likely have to adjust that tuning over time.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our competitive intelligence program could not keep up with the flow of information. Extremely valuable field intelligence was being lost or stored across 30 different places.

 ### 28. Gear Up For Battle With Crayon!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josie L. | Product Marketing Intern, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Having both dynamic and static tiles make battlecards customizable and easy to manipulate allows our team to strategize and deliver battlecards to sellers to win more deals.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The training of each team member to use this new system can be difficult at first, but having a good CSM greatly helps! Sami has been such a great resource for us and always helps answer any questions we have.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business is widely complex, with different verticals and solutions to sell against many competitors. Crayon allows us to position ourselves in each solution/vertical against each competitor to win more deals.

 ### 29. Crayon is a helpful tool to help share competitive information with the sales field

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon provides a good place to store competitive intelligence. It collects insights from our top competitors that can then be added to the battlecards. The battlecards are the go-to place for our teams who are seeking to understand our competitors better and gain the latest intel.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

User experience is an area of opportunity, especially around the battlecards edition. It is sometimes challenging to copy-paste information or add images. A nice to have would be the ability to make the battlecards more visual, which would be very attractive to the end users.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon is the best place to go for those who need competitive intel. That's where our latest info resides. In the past, we used to have competitive intel in different places. Crayon helps centralize information.

 ### 30. Incredible way to create business advantage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew H. | Account Executive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The Battlecards are an excellent way to differentiate from our competitors and, with this knowledge, help our customers to see what value we bring versus other solutions.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

There are no downsides to using Crayon that I have encountered thus far. All my experiences have been positive, and Crayon has only enhanced my selling process.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon eliminates a lot of the manual work of finding out how we compare to our competition. I can utilize the time spent with the information provided to uncover what problems we can solve for the customer.

 ### 31. Intuitive tech backed by incredible service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon is a must have for any growing organization, and I honestly can’t say enough great things about it. Even before I was a Crayon user, Crayon’s resources were my go-to for competitive analysis. Now as a platform user, I’m even further impressed with the intuitiveness of the platform, the quality of information, the ease of integration into my sales team’s existing workflows and tools, and the Crayon team. Our CS manager is knowledgeable and has really helped us make the most of the platform.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

It's hard to think of anything - I am looking forward to more future integrations though.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon has replaced the majority of the manual work of competitive research and automated it; it's also made it extremely easy to share resources with our teams.

 ### 32. Partnering with Crayon

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ellie B. | Assistant Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I enjoy working with the dedicated CSM. Brainstorming, and actively strategising on how Crayon can best be used to achieve our objectives. Also available to assist and advise.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I don't love some of the interface capabilities and the analytics. There are a few things that should be automated that are not for example being able to find the comments people leave on Battlecards as well as groupings of competitors being automated to filter through the battlecards

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon is helping us track all of our competitors. It is also helping us begin to centralize our competitive content and share that broadly across the company - specifically using the Salesforce and slack integration

 ### 33. Helps scale our CI program effectively

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon makes it super easy to create battlecards, and edit battlecards so that our content is always up to date. I also like that a lot of the monitoring that I had to do manually through google alerts, and searching is now automated and consolidated.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Sometimes formatting battlecards can be a little limited. Also, the search/alerts area can become cluttered. I wish that there was a way for the system to learn what types of articles are relevant/irrelevant to me.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a solution to host battlecards, and to help us curate and consolidate our searches. Crayon does a good job of creating a place for all thing Competitive Intelligence.

 ### 34. Crayon is critical to our CI strategy across the organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

- Thorough implementation, great customer service; our CSM is fantastic and is eager to help us utilize the system to it's fullest and stretch it to meet our unique needs

-Customized insights, sharing intel via Slack, user-friendly platform to build and maintain battle cards

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

We would like to have a way to translate our intel into specific static components of the battle card without us having to update manually. We have unique needs, and while we can't accomplish everything, we are pleased with our progress, and Crayon is open and willing to help us.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to capture real-time competitive intel on our key competitors and broker/consultant firm press releases sharing new initiatives as well as movement among consultants.

 ### 35. Foundational for tracking competitors and sharing intel throughout our organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon enables our Market Intelligence team to easily stay on top of competitors' activity, providing novel insights such as changes to their websites, pricing/packaging, and support & help content. Aggregating all of these insights into an easy-to-use platform allows our team to focus more on taking action rather than wasting time manually tracking competitors. Even more importantly, Crayon gives us the tools to activate these insights throughout our organization, from Battlecards to competitive alerts catered to specific internal audiences and their needs. By taking the leg work out of tracking our competitors, we are able to spend more time analyzing and proactively driving impact rather than being reactive to changes in the market.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

More customizability in the battlecard editor would be great. It currently meets our needs but having more flexibility in terms of structure/design would go a long way.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon takes away a lot of the manual effort from tracking competitors while providing tools to share and activate those insights throughout our organization effectively.

 ### 36. The most useful competitive intelligence tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I have been a Crayon user for over 5 years at three different companies, and it has been the most useful tool for tracking, organizing and reporting competitive insights. It has helped us automate a number of manual tasks and ensure that we never miss important market updates. Additionally, Crayon's Battlecards feature provides an easy way to create, maintain, and share sales-facing materials and track their impact on revenue outcomes. The team at Crayon is continuously improving its products and features, and they listen to and incorporate customer feedback into the platform.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Not necessarily something that I dislike, but using Crayon requires continued discipline and engagement with the platform to get the most benefit from it. The company does a great job of keeping users informed and active with automated reports, analyst picks, etc., and I would recommend that they continue to explore new ways of reaching users at different points of their workflows in order to maintain and grow engagement.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon is helping us automate manual and repetitive tasks of gathering insights from across our competitive landscape and sharing them with relevant stakeholders. It is also creating new ways of delivering and proving ROI of the CI function by linking competitive insights and resources to revenue.

 ### 37. Great Tool For Sales And Product Marketing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon allows us to easily create battlecards(BC) and track intel that would otherwise need to be manually done. Previously, sales and PMMs would need to track competitors individually, and PMMs would manage the BC, which took a great deal of time, and it took a lot of work to stay on top of all the news coming out. Now, PMMs still manage the BCs, but the information-gathering process is much easier, and we're able to provide sales with more updated and detailed BCs on competitors.

Sami, our CSM has also been fantastic with onboarding and helping ramp up the PMM and sales team!

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Nothing to dislike at this time. We're happy with the tool!

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enabling our sales team on competitor info & battlecards. We get a feed on all the competitors we want to track and see any updates/news they've published.

 ### 38. Extremely helpful tool in the Competitive Insights space!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James M. | Senior Strategy & Operations Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Converting the cluttered information available all over the internet into an easily consumable format is the best about this tool

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

The information is grouped by competitors which poses a challenge to get information at product level

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping teams to stay on top of competitor information which helps us to understand the trend in the market

 ### 39. Easy to implement and integrate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob P. | Competitive Intelligence Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Super intuitive interface for both admins and users so I've been able to roll out collateral to different parts of the organization (battlecards, newsletters, field intel updates). Integration into salesforce was easy and is a big upgrade over the previous solution.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

By design the tracking system is very broad but that does mean that the intel feed can be noisy, so it takes some time to fine-tune that to meet our needs, especially in a market with a lot of indirect competitors to track.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitor tracking and collateral distribution are the big two benefits as we work towards improving win and retention rates.

 ### 40. Excellent Competitive Intelligence!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ellie S. | Head of Revenue Enablement, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon has been incredibly helpful in sourcing and sharing these insights with our sales organisation. Jake, our Customer Success Manager, has been lovely to work with and ensured we have a great experience.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I cannot think of one thing that I would change.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crayon is solving our problem of constantly updating competitive battle cards with the limited bandwidth that Product Marketing and Revenue Enablement have.

 ### 41. Extremely helpful resources that can be used on the fly to win against my major competitors

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick M. | Account Executive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Integration with my salesforce account so that it is easily accessible and ready to be utilized at the drop of a hat

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Navigation and search feature. I'm not sure if it is an internal thing, but up to date information sometimes is difficult to find quickly.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Responsiveness to a customers question or concern, this allows me to shorten timelines in my process and keep the prospect engaged

 ### 42. Amazing product saves time and a great team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bhavesh V. | VP Product Growth, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

The ability to create battle cards and product innovation are always looking to improve the product and make it easier and more valuable to use.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Nothing really stands out as what i do not like.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to keep an eye on the competition and make it available for all internal staff so they can see what is going on in the industry.

 ### 43. Great, easy to use software

**Reviewed by:** Laura M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

 ### 44. Great CI platform and amazing customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon battlecards are great for sharing competitive intel with the team, and everyone finds them useful.
Slack integration is very helpful - lots of great insights are coming to the dedicated channel.
Crayon's Customer Success team is very helpful - they're always ready to share some tips & tricks of working with the platform, or share the CI best practices.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

There is nothing to dislike. So far, we've had a great experience with Crayon.

**Recommendations to others considering Crayon:**

Definitely try this product, it will help with your competitive intelligence programme.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Keeping up to date with competition and getting market intel.
2. Using battlecards for a last-minute check on competitor info before the calls with the prospects.
3. Tracking win rates against competitors.

 ### 45. Crayon saves me lots of time and makes me more successful in my role.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kerri P. | Product Marketing Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

I like how quick and easy it is to build a battle card, especially how competitor intel is fed to me daily, and I can quickly check the feed and select what applies to our business.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

I wish the battle card builder tool had more creative functionality. It serves its purpose but could be more robust. Also the tool is very buggy and when it should perform like a basic word or google doc, it does really strange things that can be very frustrating and eat up time.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Crayon, we are more informed of our competition and alerted of any new product, announcement, service change, etc. Also, the Crayon portal is a repository for all our competitor intel, including field intel, making it easy to manage and share with internal teams.

 ### 46. Effective tool for monitoring our competitive landscape

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elaine K. | SalesOps, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The Crayon Daily Alerts and sophisticated reporting have given us essential insights in our space.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Some articles in the daily emails weren't relevant, but the support team was wonderful in updating the filters.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing competitive intel without the effort.

 ### 47. Easily accessible competitive data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nora E. | Product marketer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

The ease of access for competitor insights, news, battlecards, etc. I also like the integrations and sharing aspects for collaborating or distributing information.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

Sometimes the insights shared can be cumbersome/info overload and/or not as relevant for competitor analysis.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the program of where to go for competitor intel. The insights and battelcards provide digestible information on competitors and makes sharing those insights easy.

 ### 48. Powerful product, extraordinary customer success team!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nitin K. | Director of Product Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Automatic competitor alerts, filters, social media scanning.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

To make an even more perfect product, the needle-to haystack ratio can be improved.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Battle card development, usage tracking, competitive landscape survey.

 ### 49. Crayon provides me with business intelligence needed to win.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David D. | Sr Enterprise AE, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

Crayon provides me with the business intelligence needed to understand my prospect's tech stack, the competitors they use, their value and weaknesses, and how we can win.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

(Some) insights are limited at times that require me to do my own research outside of the tool.

**What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Competitive Intelligence and opportunities for integrations/partnerships provide me with a competitive edge.

 ### 50. Amazing platform that simplifies my life. The staff at Crayon is amazing, and very helpful.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Crayon?**

What I like best is the hands on touch that Crayon provides their customers with. They are very receptive to any improvements, and there to walk you through implementation of the tool.

**What do you dislike about Crayon?**

There isn't a lot that I don't like. I wish there was slightly more customization perhaps. But regardless, the tool is easy to implement and helpful to teams across our organization.

Crayon saves me so much time of work that I used to be doing manually. It also makes it easier for me to share information across teams throughout our organization.
