What do you like best about CrateDB?

What I find most valuable about CrateDB is its ability to handle massive datasets with impressive speed and efficiency. It seamlessly combines the ease of SQL with the scalability of NoSQL, making it perfect for real-time data analysis in scenarios like IoT or machine data projects. CrateDB’s flexibility to store and query structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, along with its high scalability and real-time processing capabilities, make it an excellent choice for applications needing fast, reliable, and scalable database solutions. What do you dislike about CrateDB?

The project is still so young that still no real world stress test have been conducted on it. It takes some time for companies to migrate from their comfort zone on their heart of the system, database, to a new system. As a result, we still have to wait and see what happens. Also, some featuers such as a good extension system and implementation of basic algorithms like Approximate Nearest Neighbors are missing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrateDB solving and how is that benefiting you?

On the business side, due to similarity of cratedb syntax to postgresql, there is no need to hire a mongoDB expert to work on noSQL databases. Every database engineer with a basic knowledge of SQL can start to learn about cratedb and have the best of both worlds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CrateDB?

For me, the fact that with CrateDB, we can use SQL while having the benefits of NoSQL and VectorDBs is the best. It is so easy to use, and with their built-in functions such as 'distance' or 'knn-match,' you can enjoy the process of data analysis. Considering that you can easily integrate different types of databases and data models is something that I have never seen before. To put it in a nutshell, RESPECT! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CrateDB?

We should be aware of how challenging the world of databases is, and I believe that CrateDB is just at the beginning of its journey. For me, one thing I didn't like was that it did not support using ORMs, and we had to write the queries completely as strings. So, I think if this feature, along with other features such as allowing developers to add their own add-ons and extensions, is added, CrateDB could become even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrateDB solving and how is that benefiting you?

For me, the problem that CrateDB will solve is that I can combine different types of data and have them all together in one database. So, I don't have to use multiple databases, and I can easily manage my data, analyze it, and use it for further steps such as Deep Learning and Machine Learning.

Another issue that CrateDB can resolve for me is its compatibility with Python, the language of AI, making it much easier to use. You don't have to switch between different languages and databases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

More regions for deploying through the CrateDB cloud would be excellent, I'd also to see further extension of the in-built commands for working with the data inside of the database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrateDB solving and how is that benefiting you?

We've been looking for a solution that caters to real-time use cases, primarily looking at time series data in large volumes. It's a useful to have multiple models contained within the same product, offering flexibility in consumption patterns for diverse user groups.

This fits the bill, and looking forward to developing this further as an offering with for clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrateDB solving and how is that benefiting you?

CrateDB is a tool that solves the coexistence of different types of data, this helps the current process of understanding old data and other formats that companies currently require to organize the company in function of artificial intelligence, and for automation processes that are not yet predictive because they do not have a tool that relates the data with decision making. I believe that CrateDB plays an important role in today's data revolution.

What do you like best about CrateDB?

The thing I like the best about CrateDB is the usage of the "Dynamic column" option which makes it eaiser to implemenent the dynamic column import. While creating table for my data this option helped me to migrate all the columns from excel to database without any declaration of each and every column. I also loved the design of the Admin UI which has an option to query single table data with "just a click of a button".

Furthermore, the experience of Customer Support was also based on one on one meeting with the technical manager, which helped me a lot in solving technical difficulties more precisely.

There are multiple python libraries out there which supports the integration of the crateDB with my script.

Finally, I use this product daily and for data pipelining, and I would like to recommend this product to all the people out there.

Just try it once! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CrateDB?

There is nothing so far to dislike about CrateDB. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrateDB solving and how is that benefiting you?

During table creation, the issue of declaring columns with data type for each and every excel column is eliminated. It saves me a lot of time and helps me to use my time more towards productivity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CrateDB?

1.- High performance and scalability for processing large amounts of real-time data

2.- Native integration with SQL, which simplifies complex queries and advanced analysis

3.- Geospatial indexing and similarity search Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CrateDB?

Less support and documentation compared to more popular solutions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrateDB solving and how is that benefiting you?

With CrateDB I can scale how much real-time data I work with and query using vector databases and vector similarity search. I can actually take something random like a vector, and know what’s the closest vector to it [the k-nearest neighbours (kNN) algorithm], and could be mostly correct and deliver a good prediction forfinding a good match with high velocity. So, by more or less just me code into ETLs and machine learning, you will increase the prediction powers of these processes and improve performance. This is really good and now I can address different complex questions for my data products in a fast and accurate manner Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CrateDB?

A very good blend between SQL, NoSQL, Lucene, Vector, timeseries DB etc all under one roof. Performance is also fenomenal and it supports ANSI SQL Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CrateDB?

of course there are a few compromises when trying to use such a broad spectrum of technologies, but they are pretty minor when copared to the advantages Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrateDB solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are using it i mainly as a time series database for near real-time analytics and there is a bunch of other applications connecting through it via SQL. Migration was very easy as integration with other applications was done through SQL so this was pretty much lift and shift from one DB to another but way more performant and enabling many more use cases. (not just SQL) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
