I like the integration with Rapport- that saves us a lot of time. I like the customization of the schedule based on who is in each day. I like the ability to email records directly from the system rather than having to download attachments. I like the integration with antech for ease of tracking lab results. Pulse is very slow and tedious. There are too many steps to remember at check out. There are too many different ways to do everything-and not every way something can be done is the correct way. This makes the system hard to learn and tedious to use. Invoicing is to complicated and too rigid- it should not be difficult to review and invoice, remove items, change items, apply discounts, take payments etc. Billing is terrible. I have to self address envelopes to mail bills- it is 2024 this is absolutely absurd. I dislike the inability to see at a glance a patients vaccine status when making boarding reservations. I find the medical record overwhleming and busy to look at making it harder to find the information I need at a glance. Overall I have been disatisfied with Pulse and would caution anyone from transitioning to this service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The software is easy to use, easy to teach staff when onboarding, and visually not overwhelming. Tasks are generally easy to accomplish and regular updates help improve the software as technology improves. The ability to take notes easily and integration with multiple laboratories is great. Customer support is generally friendly and solves most of my issues when I contact them in a timely manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some updates are not helpfu. For example, they rolled out an update that when you e-mail a report card to a client it now opens a brand new tab in your browser to send that e-mail. So if I have 20 patients in a day, 20 separate windows or tabs are opened to send those report cards which is incredibly draining of memory and resources on a CPU regardless of whether or not it is cloud based. This was an improvement which has only added to the reputation that Pulse is too clicky. Asking for a provider with every single click of the software is also cumbersome and annoying especially if you are a doctor inputting notes and religiously log out of your account like I do :-) Having document templates in e-mail construction is something I would love to see! Figuring out a way to make Pulse more smartphone friendly is always on my wishlist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This software is very user-friendly. It is straight forward and easy to learn the in's and out's of. There are multiple tutorials, a great live chat feature, and the support team is always very helpful. It allows for customization of templates, which is great to set our hospital apart. It's also easy to create new files for clients and their pets. Being able to log into the software from any device is very handy when you occasionally have to take work home with you. Because it is new, there are a few features missing. When we inquire about these features, we're told to submit a request, which gets added to thousands of other user's requests. So far, we have not seen any of these be implemented. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Online access, which allows me to work from anywhere I can get internet. I can check the schedule from my phone, update charges on the fly, etc. Integrates with online pharmacy and our in house and outside lab. We are also now using Rapport for two way texting to clients, which has helped take some of the load off our CSRs up front answering phones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there were less clicking, like how on Avimark everything was on a single screen. They also moved everything to a side panel which is so much more work and clicking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ease of use and learning the platform is great. It's easy to train on. There's not an obscene amount of clicks to get to what you're trying to accomplish. Customer support is awesome to work with. They are typically very quick to get to you - through call or chat. We've been using Covetrus Pulse for 4 years now. We also utilize VRX Pro Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The lab dashboard could use some work. Antech labs don't write as seamlessly as we need. There's also not a great way to handle prescription requests, so we've had to create our own workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is very easy to use. The menu layout is simple and very easy to follow. Makes training new employes very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Over the years we have had lots of performance issues. Software being slow or unresponsive. Support has been a problem getting them to acknoldge the problem There are many bugs that still exhists. Some if you are not aware will cost you money. Changes with integration with companies backing out of Pulse. Glitches in webroswers needing history cleared once a day is a pain. My staff are not IT experts yet you always blame things on our end when its bad programming. Pick a browser to support and help make your platform work best on that browser. I do like having someone to chat with when there are errors. However, it would be nice if they were available a little later (but that's a West Coast problem).
I do think it's easy to navigate, and part of me likes that you can do things in different ways. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'll just give you my bullet points (but I have a whole document):
1. Load time for pages - worse with larger charts
- Log in also takes a bit, would prefer the PIN system like we had previously
2. Anesthesia form
- enter volume (ml) given in the premed but dosage (mg/kg) in the extra medications at the bottom
- difficult to read at times
- does not send to clinics nicely
- inventory items can be entered in under "drugs" (i.e. toothpaste could be entered under the premedications)
3. Inventory changes/glitches
- Have had multiple drugs (mainly controlled drugs) change the amount to 1.0000000000007 ml (there's no way we're charging for that small of an amount). If it's doing it with these, I wonder what else it's messing up on
- vaccines seem to be off constantly (rarely able to find mistakes)
4. Task Board - we liked the old one. There are a few things that we like about the new one (mass completion, adjusting who it's assigned to).
- Prefer to have a priority system. We used to highlight the tasks to show their level of priority, but the highlight does not show on new task board.
5. Canceled appointments - we have to jump through so many hoops to confirm an appt is canceled, otherwise the owner gets reminders for the appointment (may be more Rapport, but I don't think so)
6. Images used to load in chart and not download every time
7. Recurring appointments default to Sunday, even if you create the appointment on another day.
I have a lot more, but you get the gist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very user friendly. Very aesthetic. Very very very very modern compared to all the other veterinary softwares. This is the biggest thing. All the other softwares like AviMark and Cornerstone look like we were built with a rock and some sticks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Put the 'Print Patient Label' back where it was so I don't have to extend the options every time I wanna print it. Y'all cloud / connection needs to figure it out sometimes CAUSE WHY IS IT ALWAYS 'We're experiencing some issues' HUHHHHH? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Can use from any location with internet access.
Ease of loading images from email and attaching emails, sending records.
Ease of text/email to clients (good client communication options).
Invoicing relatively easy, unless you have to search for something (e.g. search for "exam" and it brings up EVERYTHING with the word "exam" including exam gloves. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Difficult to find things in medical record after conversion, especially previous medications (Control F helps, but not always).
Reports that were supposed to be easy are NOT intuitive to get what you need (no easier than AviMark was, but when you get report at least appears more accurate).
Times out when you are working in a report or task. There are tricks to make sure you don't lose your information.
Log in and provider selection boxes don't scroll with you (minor dumb irritation).
Days the program gets slow, is not responding, incomplete loading of pages (refresh is your friend, but irritating when you have to do it multiple times). We monitor our internet connection and it has been fine, so not due to that.
Both major releases in past year (task list and exam reports) had to be rolled back within 2 days to fix issues. These should be addressed in non-production environment (but could be due to Azure being the cloud services provider as cloud geeks I know say Azure is a difficult environment to program in).
Exam report printout takes up too many pages, space could be used much more effectively.
Overall "glitchiness" of program gets very frustrating and slows down flow of appointments.
1st recommendation from support with any issue is "clear cache and cookies", which we now do everynight before shutdown and still having issues.
Some forms printout different than shows on screen of Pulse's word processor. You cannot easily convert a word document into Pulse's word processor (have to start from scratch). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

UPDATE: Recently, I have had our rep reach out as well as a few from other departments that were incredibly helpful. They began introducing the integration options they have rececntly begun, including Pharmacy and Compounding. The new features are pretty exciting for whomever wants toreach the goal of streamlining and ease. I'm looking forward to really utilizing these new features/integrations. Pulse is still an overwhelming beast BUT I might be a little more forgiving as we move forward!
Almost a double edged sword. The things I like are also manyof the things I don't like.
*** Evet/Pulse makes it easy to navigate from one animal to another on the same account.
*** I am all about settings and having the ability to modify, personalize, etc at anytime. Evet, overall, allows this.
*** From an HR perspective, adding employees and allowing or NOT allowing access is easy.
*** Their Chat customer Service is great! Hardly ever any waiting and so far, they have all been knowledgeable, answering my questions or solving my problems very quickly.
*** It also integrates with Idexx really well. It makes it easy to send lab requisitions and to receive results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Well. Payment integration is an absolute joke. The main merchant, World Pay, is expensive and not a first choice at all. Gravity was the original prior to Covestrus, then the announcement of no longer using Gravity made many jump into action to find a new merchant only for Covetrus to say Just Kidding and keep Gravity. Too late for many who had chose another merchant. At this point it's a total messy nightmare and in the end, we have to deal with "Old" Gravity, "New" Gravity, Clover and the middle man - Animal Care Technologies.
*** Not very user friendly and definitely not easy to navigate. I love learning ne software/programs, etc but after 4 months, I still don't know where to go when I need something particular. A ton of areas to navigate to but that is actually what makes it unpleasant. Too extensive and links you think would take you one place, end up taking you to another. When on a call and someone needs a quick answer, that isn't always how it goes.
*** Back to payments, the inability to modify a invoice after payment can be a total nightmare. Sometimes I can make necessary changes and other times not so much. Regardless of permissions. When my numbers aren't matching because of an incorrect entry, I should have the ability to change as I see fit.
*** Reports. How in the holy heck do I go about putting together these reports when they don't make a whole lot of sense? I have to use the options given to create a report and although there are may options, each practice is different so being able to create a report that has what is needed no matter how random should be a given. THEN, when saving/printing a copy of a report, there is no way to set it up so that the important criteria you need is how it prints/saves. I need the excelsheet it imports to to have very specific columns and the amount of time put into reformatting the spreadsheet is a waste of valueable time that could be put towards something more business beneficial. There are several ways to accomplish every task in the system so that each person can find their ideal workflow and become more efficient. I learn new ways of doing things constantly that make the program even easier to use than I ever imagined. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reporting system isn't great but we also haven't found any cloud based software with decent reporting compared to server based software I have used in the past. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
