The main drawback of this platform is its pricing because it can increase as the contact list grows so it is expensive for business with larger database like pause also this platform is very good for basic and intermediate email marketing but users who are looking for them advanced automation deep CRM workflows or complex campaign journeys this won't be solving the purpose where platforms out their like HubSpot will meet our recruitment some design customization option should also most of the design options feels bit limited.

I like its ease of use and find it very easy to set up. We use Constant Contact Advanced Automation for client emailing, and it enables us to store all of our client contacts and email them our newsletter and any updates about their plans. We're also able to store multiple domains in our system, which allows us to email clients from different domains since we have a few websites.

The customization of the layouts is very limited, which restricts our ability to align them with our own branding. As a result, most updates follow a similar format, making it difficult to differentiate our outreach from that of other customers.

Constant Contact's advanced automation tools give me exactly what I need to run fast, responsive cold outreach campaigns. I love how easy it is to segment and nurture leads through triggered sequences, especially for B2B decision-makers in government and IT. The new editor is intuitive, and building 5-part email drips with integrated CTAs (like booking a consultation or downloading a lead magnet) is seamless. Tracking and reporting is simple but helpful—and integrates well with our analytics stack.

There’s room to improve when it comes to testing and optimization. A/B testing options are limited for advanced users, and we could use better UX for building long sequences (e.g., visual flowcharts like ActiveCampaign). Also, it can be a bit rigid when it comes to customizing resend logic or conditionals. But overall, these are minor issues in day-to-day operations.

I use Constant Contact Advanced Automation mainly to streamline email marketing workflows and enjoy how it turns simple email lists into smart, behavior-based customer journeys. The automation builder is visual and intuitive, allowing me to map out multiple paths without coding. It saves me tons of time with a set-it-and-forget-it convenience, as workflows run automatically once set up. The standout feature for me is the behavior-based triggers, allowing sequences to react to subscriber actions, ensuring tailored content. I also love the easy segmentation based on engagement history and campaign interactions, improving conversions by making emails feel personal. The integration with landing pages and sign-up forms is smooth, automatically putting leads into the correct sequences. These features combine power with usability, making email marketing feel simple and manageable.

**What do you dislike about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?**

A few things in Constant Contact Advanced Automation could definitely be improved to make it smoother and more competitive with other automation platforms:  Limited branching logic. The workflows are visual, but the conditional logic can feel basic. Sometimes I want deeper 'if/then' paths (like stacking multiple conditions or combining behavioral and demographic filters), and the system doesn’t allow that level of complexity yet.  Reporting isn’t granular enough. The analytics dashboard gives high-level stats, but it would be more useful to have detailed performance metrics inside each step of an automation sequence — for example, seeing drop-off rates by email, trigger performance, and A/B split data in one view.  A/B testing could be much stronger. You can test subject lines and variations, but true multi-step A/B testing for entire workflows isn’t really supported. It's a missed opportunity for optimizing long sequences.  Setup can feel rigid. Once a sequence is live, editing it is sometimes clunky. Making changes mid-flow is limited, and any major adjustment might require duplicating or rebuilding parts of the automation.  Integrations are good but not deep. Forms and landing pages integrate well, but I’d like more robust native connections with CRMs or e-commerce platforms without needing additional middleware.

I would say the interface can be updated. You can tell that with Constant Contact that they've been around for a long time. So, the back end looks outdated and complicated. Not very user friendly. What I love most is how intuitive it is. I’m not a tech expert, but Constant Contact makes it so easy to set up automated emails, organize contact lists, and run campaigns without feeling overwhelmed. It’s honestly made our communications so much smoother. As a nonprofit, we’re always juggling a lot, and this tool helps us stay connected with our community, donors, and volunteers in a meaningful way. The templates are super helpful, and the automation saves us a ton of time.

It would be great if the reporting features were a bit more flexible. The analytics are helpful, but sometimes I wish I could customize the way the data is shown or exported,especially when I’m prepping reports for our board or funders.  Still, the value we get from it makes it worth it.

What I really like about Constant Contact’s advanced automation is how easy and intuitive it is to use. Setting up a DRIP campaign is straightforward, and I love how simple it is to apply rules, manage list segments, and use tags to personalize the flow. It’s user-friendly even for someone without a technical background.

**What do you dislike about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?**

One downside, however, is the lack of an option to automatically stop the campaign once the goal is achieved. For instance, if my goal is to get a client to book an appointment and they do so after the 5th email in a 10-email series, there’s currently no built-in way to stop the remaining emails from going out. This could potentially be solved if there were deeper integrations with external booking tools like YouCanBook.me—so that a tag or event trigger could end the campaign once the appointment is set.

**What do you like best about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?**

Constant Contact automation makes sending our weekly updates very easy to our clientele. I use CC daily for different types of segmented groups. My result is a well-organized and easy to maneuver through email which I link to many different web pages, including event reservations and ticket purchasing. Constant Contact is both easy to use and to be on the receiving end looking at the final result. I have had positive experiences with customer service as well.

**What do you dislike about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?**

The only downside I have experienced, is when starting a new template, I may find one I like but wish to change a picture that was originally part of the template, and it is very difficult to do so. I am not sure why. And the background selection is not varied enough for me.

There isn't anything constant contact can do that I don't find useful. I can create registration pages, web pages, automatic emails and can also have all the data from those emails. Constant Contact is a one-stop-shop for our smaller organization.

There's not much not to like! But if I had to pick something, I would appreciate seeing more custom design and colors. the product looks a bit sterile -- however clean is better than busy or disorienting!

It helps my client manage her contact list of over 1800 emails collected while being in business for 35 years. Through constant contact, she can maintain lists with automatic email marketing pushing out to her people. We are able to highlight her short term rentals and active sales listings without her having to personally contact over 1,000 people

What I like best about Advanced Automation is how much time it saves. I think it's reasonably priced and fairly user friendly. I appreciate the non-profit and pre-pay annual discounts. They have pretty good customer support service as well.

**What do you dislike about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?**

It's often glitchy, sometimes it doesn't save my edits to an email, sometimes I can't even access the email tag. It can be a bit frustrating. It also uses a coded email address to send from their server and this is more often flagged as spam by my contacts than I experienced with other similar services. I wish it offered a few more features like being able to organize lists into folders and to CC people on emails I send out. I have found workarounds for most things, but they could use a few more standard communication tools (not just mass marketing tools).

**What problems is Constant Contact Advanced Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Constant Contact for two main purposes, as a marketing tool to advertise our open enrollment programs (I use interest lists/forms, have an email subscription list, and a past participant list I primarily market to) and to communicate with currently enrolled program participants. CC allows me to more easily manage my contacts and communications with the lists, collect interested people's names and emails through online forms, and to make nicer more professional looking emails.

I like the customization and segmentation that's possible on the platform. I also enjoy how user-friendly it is - thinking about the drag and drop email building. The real time tracking and reporting - especially the heat map are reliable and informative. 

I've only had to reach out to customer support once, but when I did I had a great experience and my problem was solved quickly and in real time.

**What do you dislike about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?**

I wish there was more customization for forms and smoother integration with other platforms. Constant Contact itself just loads slowly and moves slowly when interacting with parts of the website, which can be frustrating since we work with the platform frequently.

The contact segmentation is a huge benefit, allowing us to target parts different parts of our audience and get out specific messaging.

I think last time I used it I may not have experienced anything with AI but there is clearly a big automation solution with contacts, subscriptions and unsubscription process etc, at least at a low cost maintenance in order to maintain what is display in metrics as a bounce rate, or an open rate etc... I would see clearly (amongst all low grade competitors) is a very irritating bounce KPI especially for non Gmail users

The primary drawback of using Constant Contact Advanced Automation is that if you need to edit a sequence and disable it by mistake, or if the sequence expires, you have to restart the entire email sequence process from the beginning. Depending on the number of emails, this can be pretty time-consuming.

Haven't used advanced automation, just using the basic functionality for delivery of newsletters via email.  Have opted out of texting function due to concerns over spamming my recipients.

The editing feature can be somewhat clunky, not allowing for image placement outside of the existing templates, or creating your own set preferences/template with font size, style, etc.  I find myself having to redo a lot of the copied newsletters each time, which can be frustrating.  Form backdrop/watermark feature doesn't exist, so limited polished look.

Again, not familiar with that part of the tool, although I did explore using it once to send welcome messages to new subscribers.  Didn't find it intuitive enough to use so I abandoned the effort.  It could just be that I didn't spend enough time with it.

We have also used the event feature in limited capacities and generally have been happy with the experience. Constant Contact is something we use reguarly to keep out members in the loop.

Events are challenging to use for payment. We have many members who only want to pay with cash and check so they are unable to register online, which is problematic.

Limited customization options in pop up signup forms (compared to the options available in landing pages, for example). No way that I can see to have a sign up form add a tag to the contacts that use it.

Constant Contact makes it VERY VERY easy to create email templates and send out a campaign.  Stupid simple.  Lists are straightforward, automated segments are fantastic, and tags are a great feature.  Creating and mangaging sign-up forms is straight forward, and tie nicely into the automated email system for something as nice as a custom "thanks for signing up to mailing list X".  The KBs are well written, and support staff has been helpful with the KBs proved insufficient.

**What do you dislike about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?**

From an admin perspective, user access controls are VERY limited.  Folks are either admins with full access (excluding billing), OR can only create campaigns.  Further, there is limited integration with third party CRMs, particularly Blackbaud products.

Our CRM does not have analytics, and the email builder is very outdated.  Cannot send automated emails, templates are clunky.

**What do you like best about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?**

I think my favorite thing about Constant Contact is how user-friendly the email-design interface is. I especially appreciate the drag and drop elements - being able to grab a photo, for example, pull it elsewhere in the email, and even embed it in text. It's easier than rebuilding sections when I change my mind on photo placement.

Proofing features are great. I like being able to enter an email address and preview exactly how it will look for that person.

Customer support is responsive. I've used the chat feature and gotten on the phone with a representative.

Lists and contacts are fairly easy to update and manage.

We use Constant Contact all the time and it's been an invaluable tool for communicating with our community.

**What do you dislike about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?**

I always forget to change the subject line before proofing! I wish that was more prominent. I wish I could copy and paste a big list of contacts, rather than having to upload a file. Working mostly from the cloud, it's the extra step of having to download the list as a file and reupload it, vs just copying and pasting my contacts.

Our email communications are our most effective digital channel, and I appreciate that we own our lists and aren't subject to a 3rd party algorithm.

Constant Contact's advanced automation allows me to create a unique path for all of my contacts. Creating and editing the path is simple and easy. I don't care for the prebuilt template, so I appreciate being able to build my own. It's a great way to welcome new subscribers and connect with current subscribers with time delay- so not to overwhelm them with emails.

**What do you dislike about Constant Contact Advanced Automation?**

We're a nonprofit aging agency, so it's a bit more challenging to build the flow as most of their existing triggers are cost/purchase/shopping cart based. (Design gripe: I wish I had the option for further HTML email customization.)

I can quickly draft emails using Ai and then tailor content- saving a lot of headaches in initial email creation. From there I can automate nonopener resends and reminders x-amount of days before events. The at-a-glance stats on each email on the dashboard allows me to see how my email campaigns are performing and how I should reframe my goals. The automation piece allows me to reengage my contacts who haven't opened or interacted with us in a specified amount of time.

There are a lot of email services out there. The thing that sets Constant Contact apart is their customer service and training. They are always there to help you and give you best practices advice on your campaigns. We have gone through many service provides until we landed at Constant Contact. We are very happy now.

Like any other email marketing company, you have to be computer literate. Don't blame the provider if something is not working because you aren't comfortable behind a keyboard.

Constant Contact is helping us with better open rates of our email using suggested best practices they recommend. It works!

I like how you can tag an have automated emails go out when when tag is added. Takes the stress out off trying to remember.

Would be nice to be able to add tags when scanning a business card with app. Also be nice to have that option on the app
