A nice point is that you can select tables that have no direct relationship with the object you are working with. **What do you dislike about Conga Composer?** In more complex scenarios, the tool does not work, you will need to make many adaptations to your data structure to adapt to its limitations. For example, you cannot access more than two levels down in the data structure. The layout / flow of their platform is poorly designed in that there is no guided experience to creating your document.......the one they have is worthless with no help tools. Separately, they have links on their guided experience that take you to a generic conga page that is not relevant to the area you are working. . Furthermore, they use weird terms to describe things like "solution." vs. "Create a new document and button". They also have all these weird codes for your document to do certain things vs just using words and/or providing a help icon to explain what the weird term means. To make things exciting, we have paid for Conga yet we can't use it any longer as our "trial has expired" so another winning element to this platform as they take your money and somehow have issues. We signed a contract with them, so how we had a trial platform is very odd. **What problems is Conga Composer solving and how is that benefiting you?** Conga created more problems as a result of poor quality employees combined with a poor platform design. It gives you enough leverage to start and get going with minimum effort. Conga has real good documentation to walk us through the installation and configuration process. It also gives you enough room to customize your application according to your requirement. You can make it as complex as you can to suit your business. However, the end-user doesn't see this complexity and a single button click does the job. **What do you dislike about Conga Composer?** Some extra features, which might be needed in one module, say, Composer, is not available with the package. Business might have to pay extra for it. Also, a well-organized documentation repository is provided, but its not well indexed as google doesnt reach all the nook and crannies of this repository. Sometimes a simple web search shows that few particular things cant be done, although if someone goes deep into the Conga documentation, they can see that it pretty much possible with Conga. If the customer pays for the composer license, the dynamic-clause-removal-and-addition doesnt come as out of the box. either you will have to bend your back to create it by yourself, or will have to pay extra. **Recommendations to others considering Conga Composer:** Use custom metadata, settings to store the conga template ids rather than hardcoding in Salesforce apex classes. that will make it easy to deploy and to change on the fly. You can use custom settings by thats getting outdated now **What problems is Conga Composer solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used conga to generate user contracts in pdf formats. Previously, we were using heavy coding to implement the same thing. If we needed to change any text in those contracts, we needed to change the coding, which is somewhat hassling. Conga decreased the coding by almost 90% and now changes can be on the fly and without changing the code. It has become user-friendly as it's much faster now and an admin can do the document changes without going too technical. ### 19. I would say that the best features of CongaSign are the level of automation that I have for customization, as well as for creating actionable events such as "self-destructing documents." **What do you dislike about Conga Composer?** Sometimes configuration can require some fine-tuning. The UI can be a bit clunky to understand at first, but once you understand the UI, it is no longer confusing and transferrable between different parts of Conga. Conga could be more friendly for an average user but is comfortable for more advanced computer users. **Recommendations to others considering Conga Composer:** If you are looking for a document creation tool that is more robust than DocuSign, and allows for automation of tedious business practices such as making contracts that will be similar frequently, consider using Conga. I would say that Conga would be more appropriate for medium-large businesses because of the amount of setup that it requires. Conga/ Apttus had worked through the nuances and kinks that will only be discovered through the customer struggles while establishing a perfect cadence to mitigate risks and keep the product running all the time. **What do you dislike about Conga Composer?** The product documentation is limited. Solving the nuances is possible but not obvious. These nuances let the development teams spend a lot of time on discovery and need dev support to solve in time. **What problems is Conga Composer solving and how is that benefiting you?** Document generation has many applications when the application data needs to be sent externally in a document format. The ability to pick different salesforce objects and fields is comprehensive. The support team are quick and helpful. **What do you dislike about Conga Composer?** The documentation is confusing, incomplete, out of date and contradictory. The app launches very slowly in Salesforce. It uses an i-frame (it's nearly 2022 and I can't believe I am writing this). But the worse aspect is the integration with their in-house Electonic Signature product, Conga Sign. It actually circumvents the core Conga Document process so that you can't send custom emails anymore! **What problems is Conga Composer solving and how is that benefiting you?** We wanted to send order confirmation emails to new (and renewed) customers. We now have a confirmation email that is consistent, requires their signature and it includes the latest terms and conditions. ### 38. The only thing that comes to mind is I've heard from other colleagues that their documents sometimes do not send, but I have not experienced that personally. **What problems is Conga Composer solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm not solving any problems with Conga, but the benefits are it takes away 1 step in my contract process where instead of downloading the file, then opening up my DocuSign to send, I can do this directly from SFDC. I recommend building a temaplate and then giving it to your Marketing team to beautify. I really can make a difference to the prefessionalism of the output. Once you get your head around how the data is extracted from SF and surfaced on the doc it is quite simple but you do have to invest the time to learn it properly. I've 6 years SF experience as an admin and it took me 3-4 weeks to get my first (admittedly non-trivial document). Email support desk is really good and responsive. **What do you dislike about Conga Composer?** The documentation online was hard to navigate as they had moved CM solutions just after we were onboarded. Sometimes we had to change the format of the data in SF to suit the way it was pulled into Conga. **What problems is Conga Composer solving and how is that benefiting you?** Automate the reports generated for customers.
