Top Rated Concrete CMS Alternatives

Concrete has a terrific back-end interface and is incredibly flexible. With much of what you need built-in, it is strong right out of the box. Also, my clients love how intuitive it is to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The community, while extremely helpful, is smaller than it should be. Let's fix that! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Modern PHP Development
Very flexible in what can be developed using the framework - from blocks for an editor to quickly add content to full-fledged custom online applications
Excellent community members and core team Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Smaller community - could use more items in the marketplace for those who are not able to custom develop some functionality Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ease of use for content creators. It is an excellent framework for creating almost any website/application for developers. You can tell that the developers have a clear vision for their CMS, and while they did adapt to a changing internet, they stuck to their original vision when creating their CMS. Documentation is sometimes vague, and when you run into an issue, you feel at a loss; the dev team is very active on their forum and Github, which makes it possible to ask questions almost directly. Not perfect, but it does seem like they are actively trying to fix this Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Concrete CMS is easy for users/editors to learn. They catch on to the concept editing and arranging blocks and are soon racing ahead with very little need for support. Concrete is also a great basis for extension. The curated marketplace of free and paid addons and themes provides a reliable source for extending the core. As a developer, learning the basic principles of custom templates and blocks is simple and your skills can grow incrementally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Like many open source projects, documentation lags behind the code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Working with concrete-cms for the last 12 years made me appreciate this CMS the most of all of the popular ones out there. In page editing and easy management of files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing I dislike about it. It is a perfect solution for small and large businesses! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Concrete5 being open source is a great asset for finding integrations that others already created for your website. Everything we wanted to do with our website we were able to, either by custom programming or integrations from the marketplace. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We had an agency managing our overall Concrete5 account and this limited us in what we were able to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only CMS that I am confident to hand over to my clients to maintain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I suppose my only niggle would be the limited number of add ons available in the marketplace. This will surely improve as Concrete's profile increases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As user: ease of use for designing frontend and backend, graphical editing interface, powerful functionality and lots of features already built in incl. mobile, it's free, it's open source, based on modern technology, attention to security and permissions, excellent SEO features and tools built in, excellent file manager, multi-language support
As developer: MVC architecture and it's the best among other CMS, Doctrine implementation, ease of developing for frontend and backend, ease of theme development with PHP and without extra engines, excellent separation for pages/blocks/packages/API and between frontend pages, admin Dashboard and user Account, the best and simplest functionality for package/addon/plugin development and overriding the core functionality of pages, blocks, well nearly everything Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Development documentation needs attention and cover all functionality and API, development support is lacking, really hard to get help for some uncommon or undocumented issues Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Content editors love the interface. Modern PHP7+ OOP codebase, with the best from Symphony, Laravel, Zend, etc.
All add-ons and themes are peer code reviewed (no wild-west take-your-chances like WP). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Need more add-ons and themes in the marketplace. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having used WordPress, Joomla, Squared space, Wix and moany other CMS's this is the best i have ever used.
It has everything you need out of the box, it is feature rich and you rarely need loads of plugins. It was built for the user, its simple to use but also has a complex core that you can build off should you want to use it as a development platform.
The code is well commented, well structured and easy to expand. There is a good community of developers and designers with a good forum and slack group. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There isn't much to dislike, the lack of ecommerce is an issue but there is a very good plugin for this that is well supported. some of the documentation can be lacking but there are enough people in the C5 community should you need the answers. Also it is very easy to contact the creators of this CMS should you want exact information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
