Power FE analysis tool, requires a lot of time to get familiar with all that is possible but then the possibilities are endless! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Clunky unintuitive interface, but that's the deal with such software Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
COMSOL multiphysics is easier to handle compared to ANSYS. It is effortless to transfer between heat transfer and other physics fields and also allows users to choose from a variety of solvers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
COMSOL Multiphysics doesn’t have an explicit dynamics module. Also, it uses FEM for fluid simulations, whereas ANSYS uses FVM and is more efficient for fluid dynamics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've only used some of the modules but I like that there's plenty to pick from, literally something for everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface is not super friendly, but once you get used to it, you are ready to go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how smooth the user interface is, as well as the extensive help forum (huge shoutout to Ivan for helping us with all our problems). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
COMSOL seems to thrive on simple geometries. We import 3D photogrammetry models created from real complex rock landforms, which can cause COMSOL to struggle a bit with the solutions. We use so much RAM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
User friendly, easy to implement the scientific problem. Complex problems have solved easily with this software. I have used equation-based modeling to implement custom governing equations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This software is limited to academic institutes, and this technology should focus on an industrial problem. I have great expectations to see as the lead software in industrial application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The options to input the weak form of the partial differential equations under the mathematical module coupled with Multiphysics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The mesher is not as robust as other FEM software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
COMSOL has been utilized for simpler tasks for my lab regarding basic fluid flow in a microfluidic device. Although not used for a complex system, the software has a good setup between the mathematical analysis and inputted 3D design model. It is relatively easy to learn with a set of good tutorials that can be found throughout the web even for beginner users, although this may take a little longer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The main dislike of COMSOL is the amount of processing speed that is required to run even simple models in the software along with the results and some of the interfaces could be updated to be more user friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Modelling in COMSOL is thereabouts to easy. If you are a beginner, online tutorials on their website is so helpful for basic stuff. However, it is not enough for handling your job, you need to improve by practising. We are modelling chemical reactions by using COMSOL, after that we compare the results with our hand calculations and real reaction results. Almost always simulation results fits with real experiment results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish they would put more tutorials on their website. They have a small tutorial library, needs to be extended. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Comsol allows for creating physics simulations. I have personally used it for acoustics simulations to model plane waves, and in design projects to test various hypotheses. The application builder-server system is definitely a plus point and helps tailor simulations to personal needs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Most attributes are very likeable. However, I do believe that the resolution of plots and animations could be made better. The model tree on the left also appears clunky at times. There is a potential for making the interface easier to discern. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
