It’s saved us a ton of development time and headaches because we no longer have to rebuild critical commerce functions from scratch. Instead, we can plug in the proven Shopify components and put our energy into the unique features that actually differentiate our brand.
Overall, it feels like Shopify has finally built something that’s tailored for larger, more complex e-commerce setups—teams that want flexibility without sacrificing performance or reliability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The most frustrating thing for me about Commerce Components by Shopify is how much extra complexity it introduces compared to a standard Shopify setup. Since it’s a modular, headless-style approach, there’s simply more to manage on the development side: integrating different components, working with APIs, and maintaining your own frontend. It clearly requires a stronger dev team and more ongoing technical effort, which isn’t ideal if your main goal is to keep things simple and straightforward.
