What do you like best about Commander One?

Dual pane window allow user to view 2 folders at the same time, easily select files that needs to be copy/move/delete, each pane can have multiple tabs as well, great tool for organizing files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Commander One?

Lack of features like folder comparison/directory synchronization, multiple file rename. Additional features that only available in the paid PRO version, such as using ftp within the application, connect to Goolge Drive, OneDrive and more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Commander One:

It's free to use, unless you need to connect to Google Drive/OneDrive, etc. You'll love the workflow of organizing your files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Commander One solving and how is that benefiting you?

The traditional way of moving/organizing files would be select them, copy(or cut) then navigate to the destination folder. There isn't a way to compare files in 2 folders. I find Commander One is especially useful when I need to organized similar files scatter around my drive to one single folder. For Example, when I like to organized all my video project into a "corporate client" folder, I can have "corporate client" folder on the left, and keep navigate all folders containing my video projects and moving them to the left panel, much easier workflow Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Commander One Overview

What is Commander One?

Commander One is a file manager for Mac, a Finder like program to copy, delete, compress/uncompress files, connect to an FTP server, etc. However, Commander One can do much more than Finder, e.g. search for files with specific pattern across all drives and archives, mount MTP and iOS devices, view processes in the system, etc. With Commander One you can handle files not only on local drives, but also on FTP servers and in Dropbox (in PRO Pack mode). You can also access and manage data stored on Amazon S3 (PRO Pack) and contents of Google Drive and OneDrive (PRO Pack). Commander One PRO Pack supports Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) for working with external MTP devices (/media folder). It also allows browsing iOS device's contents (the Document directory) to edit/remove/compress files and transfer data between iOS device and Mac. In future you will be able to work with your iOS device over Wi-Fi, even without connecting it via USB cable, in case "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi" option is enabled in iTunes. With Commander One you can view the list of all computers in a local network (File Sharing should be enabled). Internal Process Viewer lets you view the processes that are running currently in the system. You can view additional information or kill any process (in PRO Pack mode). Commander One replaces other programs for handling packed files. Built-in packer supports reading and writing of the following packed file formats: ZIP, TBZ (in Free mode) and 7ZIP, TGZ, tar.bz2 (tbz2, tb2), tar.Z, tar.lzma and tar.xz (in PRO Pack mode). Files can be copied/moved directly from one archive to another. You can also delete files and create new folders directly in an archive. You can also use built-in packer to open RAR and ISO files (in PRO Pack mode). For your convenience, Commander One also features internal Terminal, the command-line text processing utility (in PRO Pack mode).

What do you like best about Commander One?

I have been using CO for several months on my Mac. The reason I was looking for a handy dual-panel file manager was that for several years I have been an extensive user of Total Commander in Windows and got used to mange files that way. I have tested several dual-panel f.ms. until now and found CO very a user-friendly, easy to use, quick in action and veeeeery stable application :) that is why I would like to recommend Commander One to everyone that want to work quickly and efficiently with their files in a Mac environment :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Commander One?

It is sometimes slow when deleting files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Commander One solving and how is that benefiting you?

As I work with several files on a daily basis I need an easy (yet very functional) tool that allows me to quickly storm through my data repository. In. my opinion Commander One does exactly so. It is very easy to find and display contents of files I need, to sort, execute or delete them. I like working with apps that have a eye-pleasant and well thought-out interface and consider CO as such program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Commander One?

After switching from windows to mac, I had trouble finding a suitable alternative to s3 browser, which introduced me to commander one. Apart from being a reliable file manager, i really enjoy its dual pane feature which lets me copy, edit, compare or move my files easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Commander One?

The one thing that I dislike about commander one is that users have to use the pro pack to unlock several features like command line, preview file contents etc.

Also, it would be better if users could search a file by directly giving the full file path similar to S3 browser. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Commander One solving and how is that benefiting you?

I primarily use commander one as my file manager to connect to my amazon s3 buckets and FTP clients. The commander pro pack has cetainly helped to copy and transfer files easier and made me productive in my work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
