The timer is a positive pressure to assess the person's stress management and organization before the test. In addition, a tutorial part allows the user to prepare for the exercise, so no unpleasant surprises. I didn't like the IDE. As an experienced programmer I have all my habits on the IDE I'm using for coding. I did all the coding on my IDE and copy-paste it in CodinGame.
