I have been observing the performance and security of my client's websites for three years.
When I build a website or e-commerce, website speed is critical. Website performance is the first step to gaining credibility from your website visitors. It should not be overlooked, especially for online stores.
E-commerce websites have more images than personal websites or blogs.
Online stores with slow access will reduce the trust of your potential customers.
Your e-commerce bounce rate will also increase. It will hurt your e-commerce rank on popular search engines.
Security is the second factor I always consider. Not all my clients use dedicated hosting. Some of them choose Webhosting without powerful DDOS features.
They are retail e-commerce owners. I don't want to burden them with extra costs to improve their web security from attackers.
The good news is: Cloudflare can solve these two crucial problems for free.
My clients have never complained about their e-commerce performance. It has been three years since they use Cloudflare's free plan.
Cloudflare has many servers spread across almost all countries in the world. Cloudflare features fast and secure internet content delivery. CDN allows super-fast data transfers needed to load WordPress websites and e-commerce content.
Another factor that increases website performance is traffic filtering and converting web pages into static content. The cache system on the CDN will reduce significantly when many visitors access the page simultaneously.
The sophistication of this feature will save hosting resources and bandwidth. My clients who use shared hosting with limited bandwidth are delighted with the information I explain in detail. They don't worry about getting a "Bandwidth Limit Exceeded" message because many bot visitors attacked their site.
One more thing I like about Cloudflare is that it doesn't include a credit link, even though we didn't choose the PRO package. I've used another Free CDN before so that I can compare it.
Imagine, you can get many great features of Cloudflare for free. So, it's not a surprise to me that Cloudflare is becoming a top-rated CDN service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If you choose a free package and want to switch to another hosting, then you must understand about IP Address of your new hosting. It would be best if you changed it manually through the DNS settings menu.
Some users may be inconvenient to do it, especially for new users that have not yet experienced using a CDN account.
Cloudflare's free plan disables users from customing their nameserver. When my clients need it, I will advise them to upgrade to the PRO plan.
Problem with modifying web themes.
If you modify the themes on e-commerce or blog engines, it will not automatically make the changes you can see in real-time. For example, you change the background color of the header or website logo. You need to log in to your Cloudflare account to modify cache settings on the Cloudflare dashboard. If you don't have direct access to your Cloudflare account, It is a small problem. You need to contact the Cloudflare account holder to custom it.
Everything in this world always has two sides. There is pros and cons side. However, the two cons that I mentioned above are not the main problems that often occur by Cloudflare users.
Besides web developer, I am a full-time blogger since 2012. Cloudflare is the best choice for better website performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Fairly intuitive usage; Many accounts held under one login
No Web or Email hosting but comprehensive secure proxying of outside sites, emails and web sites with extensive rules and security-
In particular 'turnstile' web script security is very easy to integrate and use with any domains registered AT COST through Cloudlfare.
'next tier' optimization of images and content will cost but the fee intro level does a LOT while you familarise with their naming and layout of controls
Oh and great statitics for all web email & DNS proxyingl All easy to readily turn on & off. The Proxying is close to being tranparent!
Even the lowest level of web hosting gets a huge boost trhough CLodflare- there is even a 'site down' caching option though I think this costs.
There is a great 'under attack' option if hit by DOS attack
& CLoudlfare has hit the News oftentimes
for its mitigatin of such attacks. I am a small user (20 domains)
of a vast sytem but it's quite manageable all things considered)
I switched here from Google Domains after they sold off to SquareSpace. a Good Move and easy to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cloudflare naming of services I find confusing
Zero Trust * R2 * Workers * will take boning-up to understand properly
as representing things in my 'real' world.
UNABLE so far to delegate domain registrations to their respectve owners so they can pay the registration themselves.
I am told there IS a way using the API keys but it looks Complex for me, at any rate, so I just pass the costs along.
There is SOME Delegation possible for different features but the terminology and purpose will take a lot of trial and error (IE creating the 'delegated' Log In in another Browser to see what it's allowed to do!)
Obviouly CloudFlare is meant for major enterprises with plenty of to me confusing settings- I have stuck to the basics at no cost beyond name registration and a few services, and am quite happy.
If I even get a six digit Web/Security contract?
This is where I will go : ) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of deployment, dashboard and configurations for the WAF, Cache, and other features are top tier with ease, settings, and logging. Just don't have an issue with them or you're on your own. Also, don't keep a credit card on file or they'll bill you for their mistakes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Customer support and billing. Their support does not read what you have to say but rather comes in with their own interpretation of what has happened and forces their views on your issue rather than trying to understand exactly what is happening. On two occassions in the last few months I have had this happen when I encountered an issue with the core product and their billing.
The billing should be detailed further as it is sketchy business practices. Back in April they changed their billing software and charged me incorrectly for a month as it included the previous month as well (which I already paid). I brought this to their attention and the billing support assured me that it was not a problem. Come last week, they limited my account as I "had unpaid biling" so I contacted them again and brought attention to this wrong invoice that they never corrected. Come yesterday, they just charged my credit card on file without my authorization or explanination of what is going on. I've replied to the open ticket and created a new ticket and no one is answering.
I don't want to be a drama case but this is ridiculous to have been charged something from months ago and not be given an explanation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cloudflare’s ease of setup, especially the ability to integrate it seamlessly with existing websites.
Performance improvements: Site loading speeds and optimization.
Security features: Advanced DDoS protection, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and SSL/TLS support.
Scalability: Handles traffic spikes without downtime.
Free Plan: Provides robust features even on the free tier, such as DNS management, SSL encryption, and CDN. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Learning curve: For beginners, some of the more advanced features (e.g., page rules, Workers) can be complex.
Pricing for advanced features: Some features, such as Argo or the higher tiers of security, can get expensive for small businesses.
Customer support: While Cloudflare has extensive documentation, getting direct customer support may be limited on the lower-tier plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In general, cloudflare is really easy to navigate, especially for simple DNS and domain management. Unless you have a complicated setup, I find it easy enough to move a domain or simply manage DNS for most sites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their support is terrible. Had an issue with a client's DNS and the person I was talking to clearly didn't have a clue what they were talking about. They took so long between answers, it seemed like they were just asking someone else. Ultimately, they were of no help and we were out the money we paid to have live support. The combination of capabilities that optimize performance and offer complete security against cyber attacks is what makes Cloudflare Application Security and Performance so appealing to me. The platform is quite good at protecting apps and improving performance and dependability, which makes for a smooth and safe user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The learning curve for some of Cloudflare's more advanced functions is one area that needs improvement. Even though the platform has a lot of features, it could take some time and effort to become completely familiar with them all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cloudflare has been great in terms of securing and managing our domains and sites from one simple dashboard. It has provide great uptime and performance analytics to our websites very reliably.
