Cloud Avocado has been a game-changer for me. It has allowed me to allocate cloud costs for teams in a multi-regional environment, giving me more control over our cloud expenditures. The outstanding resource management feature of Cloud Avocado is what I like best about the tool. I liked how it’s easy to schedule resources in CloudAvocado. Also, it was very helpful in detecting underutilized resources. Rightsizing recommendations are very useful too, I use them often. I like the Dashboard and Resource functionality most of all. At these tabs, I can request and see cost distribution across different entities and create custom reports based on that data. I also like how it's easy to create and apply a schedule for resources. Our on-demand QA machines that were always turned on, now are automatically turned off at non-working hours. It was very easy to save a lot from the very beginning. As soon as we’ve tagged all of our environments we could turn existing instances on and off automatically according to required schedules. Then we used tag-based scheduling to apply a schedule related to a specific tag automatically for each new instance assigned with an environment tag. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

CPU utilization charts for EC2 instances. This has become an irreplaceable tool to avoid overprovisioning and to set proper AutoScaling. Also, it decreased the cost of our testing environments after we assigned schedules to them. It’s very good to have recommendations, which highlight potential sources of waste as soon as it appears. I’m a beginner in cost optimization so CloudAvocado recommendations were a great starting point for me. It detected the most untidy parts of our AWS cloud and we made some significant improvements on the very first day of usage.
