Clio creates an easy-to-use environment for both attorneys and clients. It is accessible on mobile and online, and I like that the clients can choose to communicate through the portal, text, or email, and it is all integrates seamlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There isn't much I don't like about Clio! If I had to find something negative to say, it would only be that the email integration sometimes bugs out, and is annoying to go back through the process to get it back on again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Clio was once good for basic case management and billing systems, and perhaps on a very limited level it still would be. But the more you use their software, the more you will require third-party integrations and various workarounds to counter their buggy system and "updates" or feature removals. Their tech support is completely unaware of how the software operates and their help consists of asking you for endless screenshots of the issue, only to conclude that there is nothing they can do, but they will make your issue "known." When you have a problem, you will have to explain how the software works to their tech support and what issues the problem is causing, as it is guaranteed that Clio tech support will have no idea what the problem is, how to solve it, or how the issue impacts your firm.
Features you pay for and rely on may be removed or modified without notice, forcing you to find yet another workaround.
Clio Manage and Clio Grow are also independent systems that sometimes do not sync well together, forcing you to manually filter through duplicate contacts or, again, find another workaround to account for the poor synchronization.
Clio Drive is also sluggish and, about once every week or two, it will stop working altogether unless you reinstall the desktop driver, whereupon you must wait for the program to reinstall and sync all over again. This frequent reinstallation is yet another workaround with the buggy Clio system, as tech support has no clue how to fix the issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
