Clarisse has features that makes 3D scene assembly, lighting and lookdev much faster than other DCC apps. On top of supporting billions of poly in real time navigation, features like Shading Layers, Combiners, Groups help in creating a procedural structure that can replicated in a large scale projects easily. How much this software can handle is truly unbelievable. I am pretty sure the only limit is the workstation because whatever you put it through, it can take. When you import the published fx part from Houdini, it does not set the scale and position automatically. We have to manage them manually. I think this is the only thing that I don't like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This tool can replace applications like Nuke and After Effects? In a word, no. However, this does not seem to be the intention of Isotropix. For example, Clarisse iFX has no tracking tools. In its initial release, it is a 3D visualization and animation tool like no other. The biggest problem at the moment is that everything is so new, so a little feedback from the users will make Clarisse no harm at all. In a VFX study, it will easily find a place as a new tool that can handle many shots by itself, and if the shots are fully 3D, it will probably act as the main tool for delivering finished shots. The most difficult option will be for independent artists. Without an additional application to create 3D assets, it does not have much use. The price is the same as (or more than) most 3D software, so many freelancers and small studios may have difficulty justifying the expense of a Clarisse license. What is needed is for 3D artists to start using it and understand what they can do with it. With the PLE now freely available, you owe it to yourself to try out it to see what it can do. classire ifx is the new rendering and animation software from istropix. this is one of the fastest rendering software out there. the rendering is done on CPU unlike the modern high-speed GPU renders. the animations are basically done with keyframes and basically it supports both 2d and 3d. the textures are done as path-based so the speed is extremely great. the cost of the software is extremely high for a normal user and small companies, so they won't be able to afford such a luxury. texture creating is a bit hard when it comes to Clarisse as there is no drag and drop function. the software takes heavy cpu loads and freezes your machine when complicated rendering is done unless you got heavy specs.
