User interface is easy to implement, vs the standard Army Corps version. The Army Corps version, while evolving frequntly lacks most of the features within GeoHECRAS. Models can be quickly developed and this is a huge time saver, especially with tight project budgets. Software integrates well with other software packages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The upfront cost is steep, but the yearly maintenance fee is a fraction of the cost. The unlimited tech support makes up for any shortcomings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
GeoHECRAS has allowed me to use existing Civil 3D drawings in our hydraulic analysis. This allows us to manipulate the terrain and take a 3D view of what the analysis looks like without wasting time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In most projects, our drawings vary in size from small to very large. It is necessary to clean up the drawings before importing into GeoHECRAS so that the program itself doesn't become bogged down. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their engineers are quick to respond and assist with ongoing problems in your specific project. The software is mostly user-friendly and has many resources available for use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the downsides I experienced was not being notified there was a new version available for download and so my version was giving a fatal error. Once downloaded, it performed much better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
very customizable interface and display making it easy to analyze large data sets. Easy to edit and import/export data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Software is laggy and slow with large files. Flood lines do not fill in all the way sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
GeoHECHMS imports data from a variety of sources quickly and seamlessly, integrating them into a very accurate model. Thus, providing a user-friendly model that precisely calculates the necessary data, and allows the user to easily design their system. The tools within the software are intuitively easy to implement. All of this saves the user vast amounts of time, especially when compared to the use of multiple programs to perform the same tasks. This software is now our go to for all of our stormwater design projects.
GeoHECHMS's customer service is the best I have had the pleasure of dealing with. They are prompt to respond, and are able to swiftly fix any model errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Most of the error messages clearly state exactly what the error is and where to fix it within your model. But some of the error messages are vague. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the accuracy of the software and how flexible it can be in terms of inputting information and modeling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing that I would dislike about it is the lack of availability for rainfall data in certain areas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface and additional tools provided in GeoHECRAS are what make this software helpful. It is more user-friendly (not switching back and forth between RAS Mapper, geometry editor, etc.) for building models, running multiple scenarios, and visualizing the model and results. The 24/7 customer support is also a big positive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've run into a few software bugs/glitches in the software where things didn't function properly or the license manage would ask me to enter my license activation repeatedly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Importing CAD file into Geohecras makes it easy to see what you are working with.
24/7 techincal support with licensed engineers to help.
Building cross sections are quick and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Learning curve can be steep, but they offer 24/7 technical support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
GeoHECRAS makes HECRAS much easier to use. The data entry can be automatically popuplated via importing from AutoCAD. The tech support is excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's not much to not like about GeoHECRAS. Some data entry (editing) is a little awkward, but much better than straight HECRAS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
