Compared to the original HEC-GeoHMS software, GHH offers significant improvements in both user-friendliness and computational speed. This enhanced user experience has streamlined my workflow, while the faster processing times allow for quicker analysis. Additionally, CivilGeo's consistently responsive and helpful technical support team has been invaluable in addressing any questions or issues that have arisen during my use of the software. Civil Geo is a relatively small and new company compared to the giants of the industry (like ESRI, AutoDesk, etc.) , so the software packages are still not as flawless as them. However, they seem to be on the right track with frequent updates.
Update: They still have been continuously improvming the software in the past two year. Recently I have been using this software more than the orginal HEC-HMS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The automation and user interface are both big upgrades from the traditional HECRAS software. The connection to google aerials, automated section cuts from surfaces and the ease of which files can import/export from Civil 3D among other automated features save time. The user interface has more options while being user friendly. The onboarding process during which we worked on an acutal billable project was nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The one critique I have so far is pretty minor. I am unable to zoom in and out using the mouse wheel in the cross section viewer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Easy to bring surface from AutoCAD and create terrain, which I can directly use to cut cross sections. Integration with other programs are the big help. Also, it calculates the Bank station distances automatically. That helped me tremendously in creating existing models for fast pace projects. GeoHECRAS can create Water Surface Elevation and Velocity in just one click and the visual effect of that helps explain the client the problem area easier. Great user-friendly software to create HECRAS models in a short amount of time with precise cross sections.
Excellent customer support. Outstanding modeling creation techniques and user-friendly Ribbons to create models.
I can not think of doing any future projects without GeoHECRAS. GeoHECRAS tries to incorporate any additional features that you may think you need for your project, and tries to add them to the future version of GeoHECRAS. Great experience of using GeoHECRAS.
Recently I am using GeoHECRAS on very regular basis as more projects are for creek restoration or a site in or near floodway/floodplain.
Tutorials are helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like to have a user manual, so I am not looking all over in tutorials to find out where I will find stuff. Offer training like HECRAS offers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

1- Improved GIS interface and the capability to access online data catalogues like elevation models, soil types and land cover. HEC-RAS engine works as intended and stably in 2D models too.
2- On-demand engineering support and trouble-shooting
3- The fact that its tools work with fewer bugs and gliches comparet to HEC-RAS Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1- It is resource-intensive: You need a high-end CPU/GPU to run it smoothly
2- It misses Hydrology! It should be a part of the package and just seems like a void that we try to patch with other tools and software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

GeoHECRAS is a great software tool for modeling simple or advanced hydraulic models. I'm a satisfied customer and have used the product for many years. I'm always able to get the job done faster than I could before. The support is top-notch. The support people are especially helpful in helping you resolve any issues in the model or with the software itself.
Now after using the software for several years, I am even more pleased. The continued support is amazing. The support team at Civilgeo has really gone above and beyond the norm. You certainly are not alone when completing simple or complicated modeling projects.
The list of features continues to grow each year. Features and tools that cannot be found anywhere else. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software works slightly slower on PC's than HECRAS itself, but the difference is negligible. It offers so many other powerful and useful features which make up for this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

GeoHECRAS continues to be a great tool for floodplain management. Its ease of creating, designing, and analyzing floodplains is unmatched. The software is very user-friendly and offers numerous extra/additional functions and features. GeoHECRAS is very stable and powerful, and it rarely crashes (if ever). Technical and customer support is top notch when/if needed, with fast, professional, accurate responses and screen sharing to help. The software is import/export compatible with multiple versions of HEC-RAS, CAD, and GIS software. It can display aerial base maps on several different coordinate system options, which simplifies parameter inputs. Mapping large or small floodplains and floodways is simple with the automated tools for generating cross-sections, extracting geometry, assigning parameters, and visually mapping the results. GeoHECRAS saves a lot of time, which of course means it saves a lot of money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I honestly have nothing negative to say about GeoHECRAS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

GeoHECRAS is the most friendly-user software I have ever tried before. Its poweful enhanced tools are perfect for HEC-RAS beggineers modelers. It makes your models and design way faster than other hydraulic softwares. I highly recommed GeoHECRAS if you want to work on floodplain analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software runs a little bit slow when there are too much data, for instance: when there is a considerable amount of loaded contours or a big HEC-RAS model. They should improve the software's processing speed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how much time GeoHEC-RAS saves the user in river analysis. The user-friendly interface, powerful terrain tools, compatibility with GIS and CAD, integration with online services (USGS, FEMA, soils, land use, etc.) , and ease of workflow save the user a significant amount of time on every project. Customer support is great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It carries a hefty subscription price, which can deter companies from purchasing the software. There isn't much to complain about with this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like the built-in functions such as automated curve number calculations and watershed and sub-basin delineation. In the past these would take hours to compile all the data. Now it can be done in one click of a button - the data is already pre-loaded into the software. Time of concentration calculations are also so much faster to complete. It's really easy to break off different segments and assign different flow types as well as land use. Another huge benefit is PMO/PMF analysis. No more looking at HMR 51/52 tables. Click the centroid of your watershed and the depth/duration tables will be loaded for you. I find the software user friendly and pretty easy to pick up, especially if you 've already used other hydrologic software. You can also directly export the project to HEC-HMS.
I use this software now for basically every project that requires a hydrologic input. There's almost no reason to start a project from HEC-HMS directly when there are so many tools built into GeoHEC-HMS. Also, the customer support is 10/10. Anytime I have had an issue, there has been a tech ready and willing to help walk me through any troubleshooting, even if it's not directly related to the software. They are super knowledgeable about modeling as well and are willing to offer different approaches based on your specific location and modeling needs. They will always follow up with you as well to make sure that the software is working as intended and are willing to incorporate suggestions you have to make the program even better for the user. There are a few small bugs with the software that are not deal-breakers (I still really like the software and will continue to use it), but the issue is that if someone who doens't know hydroogy well is using the program, they may think the model is running fine when in reality it isn't. For example, I have noticed with Curve Numbers that the program defualts to 25% impervious area. If you have already accounted for IA in your CN you need to make this 0%. Then when you export to HEC-HMS the 25% is back in the model again. If you aren't aware of this or aren't paying close attention, this would be easy to overlook.
