Being able to bring in CAD drawings for reference is the most useful. Also adding the ability to merge terrains, even users unfamiliar with GIS, can get surfaces to cut cross-sections from. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Originally I had concerns about the compatibility of some coordinate systems as the CAD drawings didn't align with overlaid satellite maps. This seems to be fixed in newer versions but should still be verified by users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It saved me time to gather the base map, such as aerial and topographic maps, very quickly, without using other software or importing files. The technical support is also very good; someone will always respond to you within 2-3 hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a learning curve to use this software, but the available technical support reduces my learning curve time in half. It may be a good idea to have a simple user manual for the software instead of keep using the online knowledge center all the time to look for answers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the ease of river reach analysis and the speed at which the information is analyzed and presented. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't dislike anything about GeoHECRAS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Love the built-in features like USGS steam stats, land cover, soil group and etc which helps watershed hydrology analysis. the software has the ability to interact with GIS and AutoCAD backgrounds which is very useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
help option isn't avaliable for all pop out windows and the function for certain features is not clear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very easy to edit cross-sections and structures with GeoHEC-RAS. I can edit on map view or plot view whichever I prefer. The built-in GIS tools also make it faster to assign parameters and save time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The flow inputting is not as simple as HEC-RAS. I can generate an excel tabe and just copy/paste to HEC-RAS, but with GeoHEC-RAS I have to choose each reach to enter flows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

GeoHECRAS, is a very useful program to interface with the cumbersome HECRAS software.
The GIS and CAD integration is great. You can pull in the GIS files from various agencies, pull in LIDAR data (Ground and highest hit) perform color rendering of the LIDAR data, plot contours, export to CAD in real coordinates, as well as many other manipulations. You can pull in CAD files that show your design, buildings, river or project stationing, and other collogues designs and much more. There are some very cool water basin tools that work great for stormwater design.
Civil Geo has awesome customer support that comes with the software package!!!!
The need for technical support is not very frequent but when it’s needed they are there to assist. I can call tech support and normally get a very well qualified Engineer to help me with any software issue that comes up, within about 5 minutes. They log into my machine while we are still on the telephone and we figure out the issue, fix it and I move on to more production work. The Engineers are very helpful and you don’t get stuck in the que for days, weeks or even, months as some other software companies. In fact I was talking to one of the largest CAD companies about their horrible tech support and software that doesn’t work out of the box. The software has had issues since it was purchased about 4 months ago. I told them about Civil Geo and how they have awesome technical support and the Big CAD Company should take notes of Civil Geo’s customer support. Way to go Civil Geo you have set the standard for technical support and you will start taking over more market shares from some of the largest CAD software companies that have forgot the basics of software development. It needs to work out of the box! If it doesn’t work then the software developer needs to fix it in a reasonable amount of time which in my case has been 3-4 months now! Keep it up, we will be looking for more of your software as you develop it.

GeoHECRAS uses allot of system memory when loading up. We reference allot of files so we naturally would push the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
