I like the quality of a team that shows efficiency when working, I like that the company Cisco works at 100% to improve its equipment and thus provide quality software to its customers. For me, one of the best companies for these network devices would be Cisco since it offers me great comfort when interconnecting my devices and even easier when managing them, and I like that I feel very comfortable having high-security and high-performance equipment like Cisco's Catalyst. This question is very complicated to answer because a company with branches all over the world and thousands of communities seeking to have these devices in their businesses makes the CISCO company work to evolve every day and provide new updates to its clients, whether in security or network performance. However, a potentially negative point in this is that the devices become very expensive, and for this reason, many other companies find themselves looking to obtain other equally good alternative devices like Microtik or devices from other brands. The series of Cisco switches are high-tech devices, I like them because they really have everything a LAN needs, any company with a serious infrastructure needs to implement a switch and the best would be Cisco, depending on the network requirement. I really like the number of features and functions it has, it has a pretty good variety of configurations to implement various technologies, such as VLAN, STP, Etherchannel, Portsecurity, among others, which are necessary for a business network. It is really a point that should be taken into account because many people do not handle this range of Cisco, which is really a negative point for the Cisco switch is its learning curve, it is very long, it takes several months or even years to learn how it works, its configurations, etc., it is quite complex, but once you have the basic knowledge, it is possible to do many amazing things, although we could also say that its prices are somewhat higher compared to other companies that make switches but in consideration it could improve for that brand. This is a great quiet fan less smart switch. The web GUI management interface makes it easy to configure the switch.It is a great option for those who wants to upgrade from an unmanaged switch. Each ports default to layer 2, but you can change each port to layer 3. VLANs are easy to configure with the VLAN wizard. Configure your existing DHCP to assign the switch an IP address (MAC is on the box and switch) and plug the switch into your existing network to get started, otherwise it uses its a default IP. One of the things that I like this sw range is its easy configuration at the VLAN level and port mode assignment, this catalyst range offers giga speed ports, thanks to this it improves the sending of packages in each of its ports. I do not like the sw of this range in several of the protocols of layer 2 are exclusive of cisco, and when we have an infrestrutura of direfente manufacturers is useless many of the commands. We are using the 6880 switches as our core and distribution layer through our network. We have about 60 of them deployed. We run MPLS and MP-BGP with a 3 layer VPN on them. We use 4510, 9410 and 9300 as our aces layer. We use sub-interface on the 6880 com toon access layer and GLBP for our gateway protocol and it allows us not to use a limit spanning tree in our environment.Its Very easy to manage.Great warranty.
