## Chameleon Reviews
  ### 1. Chameleon is an easy to use digital adoption product!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sabina L. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is easy to embed in your application, easy to learn how to use, and continuously improving and adding new features. I check it every day and I especially like the built-in NPS survey you can use from their library. The help bar has been a game changer for our customer support product articles.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometimes it's a little challenging to do exactly what you want as it's a pre-built set of things. This makes it easier to learn and use quickly but prevents total customization.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In-app announcements about new features and warnings to meet users where they are. We hope to start using it for onboarding but have not implemented that yet.

  ### 2. Best user engagement platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is easy to use and offers a wide range of survey and tour types, as well as more flexibility than the competitors I have used. Chameleon opened up one of the most important ways for us to communicate with our users. We've been a customer for over a year now and the product keeps evolving and keeps getting better, which is also thanks to the close support of the customer success team.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometimes certain features or integrations did not work as expected, but customer support is very quick and helpful to fix issues or find (good) workarounds if what we tried to achieve was not possible.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a B2B business it is often difficult for us to get in touch with our end-users to either ask them for feedback or inform them about product changes. This got so easy with Chameleon.
We recently moving our self-developed user onboarding over to chameleon to free up dev resources and be more agile when it comes to changes.

  ### 3. This has been a highly impressive tool for driving client adoption in a product-led manner.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** gracie v. | Product Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

How easy it is to build events and experiences that give your product a huge boost in usability and attractiveness. It's incredibly intuitive to get started right away.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It has been a little tricky dealing with Chrome because of our internal policies.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Leading new-to-the-platform customers to adopt the features we offer and easily navigate to gain the most value. Also aiming to drive adoption digitally.

  ### 4. Far surpasses the incumbent technologies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

We use Chameleon tooltips for feature adoption, banners for incident notifications, and launchers + tours for onboarding. The depth of the product is phenomenal--basically the world is your oyster when building a tour. And, every time we have felt a feature was missing, we were able to work with our account manager for a workaround or even to be added to a beta program.

We LOVE Chameleon and find it so much more powerful than our previous tool, Pendo

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The segmentation can be a little tricky. We experienced a lot of rockiness getting started, but once our team was more experienced, segmentation became very granular and helpful.

Analytics of tours are also a little weak on their own, but when paired with Heap, it's fantastic

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our engineering team is very fast and always rolling out new features. But our users weren't able to keep up with launches and external help documentation. Moving that into the product has been invaluable.

  ### 5. Great customer service on an important tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I continue to deeply value Chameleon's customer service. Our CSM is very proactive and will test things for us, inform us directly on outages, even provide sample code to work with.

As a tool, Chameleon saves us a lot of time and stress. We use Chameleon to build, segment, and prioritize in-app communications so that we don't flood our users with emails. Chameleon has drastically cut down our email sends and Chamelonquickly became our most frequenly used communication channel, but one more suited to handle that volume. If I was worried about customers seeing more than three emails a week, I could relatively easily make it so they never receive the fourth email, but setting up a delay would be much harder. With Chameleon, it's very simple for me to manage how many in-app modals customers are seeing and ensure that if it's too many, the next modals are just in a backlog to view once the customer is eligible/unsaturated.

We had to re-implement Chameleon this year and I was surprised by how very easy and quick it was. Chameleon's team was a huge help as well.

Chameleon's use case is invaluable for any modern SaaS product, and there's no competitor doing it better. It's so simple to use and quick to get started. At the end of the day the majority of our blockers are internal, and while Chameleon could do a little more as a product that would help us unblock them, I do see them as genuinely involved and motivated in keeping every customer, and they have made meaningful incremental improvements where possible.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

As a customer marketer I completely understand wanting to encourage strong feature adoption, but Chameleon has often tried to encourage me to adopt features I've already explained won't work for us or aren't compatible. Meanwhile, features that could genuinely improve our adoption, like permission settings that would allow us to bring more users in, are gated behind an additional paywall. Chameleon is a great company but can continue to improve by criticially evaluating their pay structure and truly listening empathetically to users when we explain why something won't work for us - I use Chameleon for it to create less work for us, not more.

We have had some issues with bugginess or modals not placing where they should. Chameleon's CS team is always very attentive and proactive, but these issues have sometimes taken much longer to resolve than I'd like. This is in part due to how our app is designed, so your mileage may vary - but I wish it was a tad more compatible with our app. If not with our app, it would at least be nice to see more consistency across features for different types of in-app experiences.

Chameleon has a number of integrations, which are useful and often fairly plug and play, but each I have tried have had certain limitations in use. I'd like to see Chameleon go deeper more than wider moving forward.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Chameleon most regularly to replace redundant communications we would otherwise have to send through other channels. It's more efficient for the business and we believe ensures a better holistic customer experience. We have also used Chameleon for self-service onboarding enhancements and to deflect common customer support topics. These projects are often approached as testing for something that would be more permanently developed and implemented by our Prod/Eng team.

  ### 6. Chameleon at a Glance: Exceptional Features with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica R. | Manager, UX/UI, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

As the lead UX designer overseeing a cloud-based SaaS product, Chameleon has significantly streamlined our workflow by enabling effortless creation of specialized announcements, interactive tours, tooltips, and in-app microsurveys. This has empowered our team to gather valuable user insights without relying on developers to implement these changes. The user interface is intuitively designed, providing seamless navigation and offering a diverse array of templates that expedite the integration of valuable enhancements into our product. Particularly noteworthy is their builder tool, which facilitates real-time customization within the application environments, allowing for immediate visualization and overlay on the interface.

Chameleon excels in providing customization options tailored to specific user scenarios, enabling precise alignment with our objectives. While not the most economical option in the market, Chameleon's pricing reflects a fair value proposition for the extensive features and functionalities it offers. Despite competition, Chameleon remains my preferred choice due to its comprehensive offerings. Additionally, their responsive support team consistently addresses inquiries and concerns within a commendable 24-hour timeframe.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

During my year-plus experience utilizing Chameleon, I've encountered a notable number of bugs within the platform. Additionally, with the introduction of new features, there have been instances where basic user experience functionalities, such as the ability to undo or delete certain actions, have been sacrificed. For instance, the recent release of the 'Helpbar' exemplifies this trend. As a seasoned UX designer familiar with the intricacies of product development, particularly during minimum viable product (MVP) launches, I understand the pressure to prioritize feature releases, even if they may lack completeness.

However, I empathize that such decisions can lead to user frustration when essential UX features are compromised. It would greatly benefit users if Chameleon ensured the operational integrity of fundamental UX functionalities before deployment. Delaying the rollout to guarantee a fully functional feature would undoubtedly provide more value than introducing something that may break or cannot be used effectively.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon has been instrumental in resolving critical workflow inefficiencies. By simplifying the creation of tailored announcements, interactive tours, tooltips, and in-app microsurveys, Chameleon has empowered our team to swiftly gather invaluable user insights. This independence from developer reliance has notably expedited our implementation processes, allowing us to pivot and innovate seamlessly.

  ### 7. User friendly, great support, but still room to improve the product and metrics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kat B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Building Experiences is very easy and user-friendly. If you ever run into any issues or questions, their support and customer success team are there to assist. And, they're actively taking customer suggestions to change and update their product.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I do wish there were more integrations with various data products. Additionally, their reporting could be improved upon. They've made some recent changes that are helpful, but you still need to export and extrapolate the data to really get any insights.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our platform is very complex, with lots of use cases, product pieces, and settings. Chameleon Experiences help us bridge the gap of information to our customers and increase adoption in specific areas.

  ### 8. Great tool for leading new users or introducing new features.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcus T. | Client Success Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It overlays on an existing website/application so that users can be lead through a process in real time. It's simple to use and has a robust list of features. We especially like the Tour feature and will be consilidating them into Launchers.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Tours could be easier to edit. Currently, you cannot insert a step in a Tour. You must recreate steps and move them down after adding a blank step to the end. Also, isolating triggering elements in code could be better.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to lead new and existing users through simple and common tasks within our app without being there personally.

  ### 9. Very happy with the partnership

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin K. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The people I have worked with on the Chemaleon team has been the best part. Not pushy at all in the sales process and very helpful throughout. The tool is great and has allowed us to ensure we are reaching the right people with the right messages and they do so in an easy way.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Honestly, I can't think of anything to write here.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us ensure we are messaging clients and users in an appropriate way and doing so in a timely manner. It's also greatly helping our users understanding of the platform.

  ### 10. Easy way to gather targeted feedback

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren S. | Sr. Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I love being able to send targeted microsurveys to our users within our product. We've had great success with gathering lots of insightful feedback from our user base, which as helped inform our product strategy.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I do wish there were more flexibility in the microsurvey builder. If you decide to change course on the type of survey you want to build, you have to restart from scratch.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our product marketing team uses Chameleon to build out onboarding tools for our customers. It's been immensely helpful in converting visitors to orderers.

  ### 11. Chameleon has helped us onboard, teach and show to our users the whole capability of our app.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Macarena M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Tours are very helpful, specially the hotspots that allows us to show new features and teach our users how to use them.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I'm still waiting on the mobile version so we can use it on our mobile app as well.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon is helping us to quickly create welcome tours and teach our users how to use the new features of our platform. It is so fast and easy to use that we don't need to spend time and effort from our development area.

  ### 12. Experience building tours, launcher etc

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aashita D. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon tool is extremely easy to use and navigate through

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The level of customization is limited. I'd love to see more support to handle dynamic urls

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The customers can tour around the features in the braze dashboard which is helpful to navigate through a complex UI

  ### 13. A robust, scalable product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is laser-focused on product adoption and constantly finds way to improve its product.
Their Support and CSM teams are super devoted and responsive.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

We encounter minor usability bugs a bit too often.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon enables our Product Management and Product-Marketing teams to tailor personalized communication for our users. The right message, for the right user, at the right time.
We don't have to go through Engineering in order to make changes, and are able to create impact quickly.

**Official Response from Sonia Schiau:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback! I'm happy to hear that Chameleon is helping your teams drive product adoption and deliver personalized communication effectively. We also appreciate the shout-out to our Support team 💚 they are dedicated to making sure you get the most out of our product.

We're always working to identify and resolve bugs quickly, but we would love to hear if there are any issues that you're still experiencing -- don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help and ensure you can keep creating that impact without roadblocks, and your feedback helps us focus on areas where we can improve.

  ### 14. Great way to add unique UI features to a site without making major product changes.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Ease of use to create visual tools throughout a SaaS platform. The builder tool is very intuative and makes it easy to create and implement new visuals. Targeting context by certian groups of users is also very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Troubleshooting can be tricky depending on the type of issue you are experiencing.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to reduce user error and reduce the number of support tickets we receive.

  ### 15. Chameleon is great

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christie C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like the editor builders and the ability to see exactly what you're doing as you do it. Also excellent customer support.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I've noticed it can be a little bit buggy. It also isn't extremely intuitive in some places.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hosting our access to a chat feature and also help resources for users.

  ### 16. Great tool for customizing and personalizing user experience!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Personalizing online experiences is a huge focus of our team and this tool is one of the best!

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Great platform overall. I don't have any major complaints.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a way to customize the user experience on our platform without having to do heavy development and code changes. We are using Chameleon to manage tooltips, tours, messages, content, etc. It's been especially useful to train end-users on the platform and provide easy access to support.

  ### 17. Good experience setting things up, with areas of improvement like filtering and creating segments

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Saves a lot of engineering effort for things that non-devs can set. Relatively easy to implement. Great customer support to clarify cases.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Not easy to know how to set segments. Filtering seems a bit clunky to use.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to create awareness of how our platform works and key concepts users need to learn. Chameleon help us create and implement banners and short walkthroughs that explain those without much engineering effort.

  ### 18. Very easy to use, implement, and manage the onboarding experience, microsurveys in the product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The best part is the customizable feature where you can adjust font, color, position, shroud, etc. This makes the process more enjoyable and flexible to try different setting and see how it performs.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

One thing bothers me a lots is whenever I need to edit the microsurvey, it always takes me the last URL the builder was opened, instead of the actual URL where the microsurvey was implemented. Then, you will see "URL does not match" on the top-right and navigate yourself into the right page.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Insufficient customer feedback is one of our main problem and with Chameleon microsurvey, we can trigger user's action and ask for feedback at the right time, at the right context.

  ### 19. Chameleon is a great tool for feature announcements and webinar invitations!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's so easy to set up an annoucement to appear only to particular users when they log into our software. We use it monthly to invite clients to our product webinars. We also use it weekly to highlight features, offer refresher trainings, and generally alert clients to value adds around the system. I especially like that I can easily link users to further documentation on our help center while keeping the in-app tour short and sweet.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I would like to see more of a WYSIWYG editor for the body of the announcements, as the formatting options are a little limited now.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to deliver messages to more at-risk clients, to introduce all clients to new or updated features / tools, and to invite clients to monthly webinars.

  ### 20. An easy tool for a marketer to use to make announcements & promote events

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

As a marketer, I use Chameleon for quick announcements in the UI in relation to our product and our customer events. Its really easy to use the templates for announcements, add images, and preview the announcement. You can integrate with Marketo and other systems to build target audiences.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometimes building out the segments can be glitchy.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes it easy to introduce messaging in-app.

  ### 21. Level up your product!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Having Chameleon really can level up your product and create more of a self serve expereince. There are many ways to get creative to either fill in product feature gaps or highlight best practices.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There is a bit of a learning curve and implementation isn't the most intuitive

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon is increasing customer independence and decreasing the burden on customer support resources

  ### 22. Easy, effective & powerful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elyssa S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is not only a great tool but a great partner! They have a world class team that is extremely knowledgable and helpful. I was constantly impressed by everyone I met on the team.
The tool has a wide range of features and it is clear they really care about building the best solution to help product and growth teams unlike what is on the market. We were able to implement and integrate with our existing stack easily.
Their out of the box A/B testing feature is great and helped me a lot when I first started launching experiments to see what worked and what didn't.
They also intentionally use AI to create features that are for the betterment of their customers vs just adding an ai feature to appease the market - for example their helpbar.ai has really improved the accessibility of our help docs to our customer base in app.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Their reporting could improve but it is nothing to not use them for.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon is helping product, customer success and design all align and create beatiful experiences that match your app and needs to drive product adoption.

  ### 23. Perfect choice for onboarding tours and not only

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evgeny P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I moved to Chameleon from Intercom for teh sake of tours which we show to newly registered clients to familiarize them with client area. I didn't use other tour platforms before, so can compare only with Intercom. So here are Chameleon advantages:
- Most important - Chameleon works on mobile browsers. It may sound strage, but Intercom tours do not support mobile browsers
- Straightforward pricing model. Who worked with Intercom, know how tricky their billing is.
- On top of the tours, I found very useful microsurveys, which are part of all plans. It was a side benefit, which we use to get instant feedback from clients. In Intercom this is a separate paid feature
- Chameleon Support is very effective and fast. Intercom usually replies within a day, Chameleon - within an hour.
- Integration is simple - via GTM

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

- I did not find myself how to make localisation of the tour and microsurvey (multiple languages). I had to contact Support for that. The solution was to create clones of the tour and update each one in respective language, then trigger them based on URL or other user language condition
- Console interface took me some time to get used to it, but this is subjective, not a big deal.
- Looks strange that "Get started" journey stays on top of the meny even when you have completed setup and alreagy gone through it once.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboard new users

  ### 24. Improving Product Adoption Through the UX Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Product adoption and customer satisfaction are paramount to success and Chameleon has been instrumental in producing that for our platform. The product is simple to use and support has been extremely valuable.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

As a platform with an evolving UI from new development, many of the Chameleon features require updates on a regular basis.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Production adoption is one of the most difficult barriers we face and Chameleon allows us to overcome that without developer intervention.

**Official Response from Sonia Schiau:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with Chameleon. We're happy to hear that it managed to drive your product adoption and that you find our product easy to use!

It's paramount for us too, to provide a stable experience - both for you, as well as for your end-users. Our engineers are working hard to enhance our existing features, as well as solve any bugs as soon as they arise.

  ### 25. Good product for in-app tours with a great support team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is an easy-to-implement product with a great customer support team. Any time I have had a challenge with the product or the way another product in our stack works with Chameleon, their team has been able to help me find a creative solution within a few days. The product itself is easy to use and the Chameleon team has done a good job continuing to build out new features and functionality that aligns well with practical use cases.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There are challenges with customization, at times, for less technical users. The Chameleon system allows for a lot of flexibility, but at times it's hard to figure out which syntaxes you can use in different places. It would be a nice improvement if they built in more tooling or in-app support around those cases, but their support team has always been responsive and able to help me figure out the right solution when I ask.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us with driving adoption of new/key features and functionality with our users, as well as to reinforce workflows for our internal teams. We also use their Helpbar to integrate our help content directly within our solution. Lastly, we are starting to use the Tours and Tooltips functionality to provide scripting for our teams when they are talking to a customer and need dynamic guidance of what to say for a sales pitch.

  ### 26. Insight to customers and the ability to delight and spread messages in an efficient manner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Individual & Family Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Love that it allows us to send out specific messaging to our customers from our Company. Chameleon allows us to also help out individiual customers and delight them in a way we wouldn't be able to without Chameleon. For example, we can use Chameleon to send out messaging that is provided by the customer to share with their teams. We've been able to gain insight to our customers experience with us as a company by deploying NPS surveys. It has proven to be a great tool for our company!

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There does seem to be some glitches from time to time that prevent us from moving forward with Chameleons we had in mind. For example, there was a recent bug with the snooze feature and it created frustration among our customers and had to delay releasing the Chameleon until it was resolved. However, our CSM is absolutley amazing and always helps when issues such as these occur by speaking with the team at Chameleon and providing work arounds until the issue is resolved.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Beng able to put in tips throughout our platform has helped reduced customers reaching out to support for answers that can be provided within the CRM.

With announcements it has also helped us share that with our customers in a quick and efficient manner.

  ### 27. They are constantly updating the platform with great features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The overall concept has been very helpul for user onboarding. The statistics are very helpful to gauge how helpful experiences are.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

For some reason, flows/links break. I think it would be helpful if there was an indicator that stated that. For example, today I learned that an experience tour was not functioning properly. Had I not clicked into, I would not have known. I had to verify what was happening and make sure the links I had in place were correct. The links were correct but the tour would display my companies 404 page. It took a couple attempts to get it back on track.

I dislike the colour picker for customizing a tour. You have to add a specific hex code vs being able to also explore what colours you can add.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The reason we adopted this tool is for continuous user onboarding. To guide users to value and teach them about our platform.

  ### 28. Chameleon

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Their features and capabilities, especially regarding integration with other tools (like Segment, Mixpanel, Intercom, and much more). With Chameleon, you can create various types of experiences dedicated to users. On top of a solid and constantly improved product, their CSM team is fantastic - always available to help build and deliver value to our customers.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I don't think there is any major downside, and I'm confident they will keep improving the product.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Chameleon as our digital adoption solution, mainly to create and deliver self-service onboarding experiences. Since we signed with them, we have been able to run several A/B tests with ease and improve our FTUE onboarding experiences, leading to an improve in our top-of-funnel metrics.

  ### 29. An elegant solution with great customisation

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Implementation was was easy and there are ltos of features and customisation.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

All the customisation can be daunting and some nomenclature isnt the best.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is allowing us to communciatw with our user base and adopt our product better.

  ### 30. Easy way to interact with users in-product

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's easy to create simple modals or microsurveys to collect feedback from users quickly. The experiment feature works well to help optimize important interventions.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Segementing can be tedious. Both setting up the cohorts along with spot checking after something is published can take some time.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us commuicate with users in-product without development effort required. This helps our product team implement and iterate on ideas more quickly.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Totally understand that creating Segments to help target users can be tedious and take quite a few clicks, and so we've worked on a major improvement:

Now you can mix-and-match the Segments you've created when setting up a Target Audience. That means you have to create fewer unique Segments and can just use a handful of basic Segments.

We'd love to continue making improvements to increase the speed of how quickly you can build audiences. Are there any particular aspects that were frustrating or time-consuming?

Other improvements we have in the mix include:

- Easier testing (as a specific user)
- More visibility on who is within any audience or Segment
- Improvements to the layout and UI of Segments

Creating Segments/target audiences is so valuable to customers and we want to ensure we can continue to improve the ease of use of Chameleon, along with regularly introducing powerful new functionality (e.g. we will be offering "custom events" for targeting soon too!)

  ### 31. Powers our in-app tours

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William W. | Head of Growth, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Easy setup new tours, solid reporting, good Segment integration, good design tools -- at the end of the day, a good user experience.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I'd like to see a better Hubspot integration.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon supports our onboarding, general product education, and new feature launches.

  ### 32. Chameleon design and learning opportunities are great

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon takes away my design worries. I just have to create the content and Chameleon's robust design options help it integrate naturally into our product. The support is top-notch and very responsive.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The learning curve is a little steep, and there are a lot of buttons to push at times -- however they have wonderful training and support materials so it's no inconvenience. The help bar has been disappointing and not worked like we want it to. The AI is not correct a lot of the time or nonresponsive.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In platform user assistance and announcements, surveys

  ### 33. Lots of customization available

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chamelon has a lot of customization options to make in-product messages look as seamless and helpful to users. I especially appreciate the ability to have pop up modals when a cursor hovers over a specific element, so we can target messaging based on user intent behavior.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I wish there was an easier way to view and organize all the different in-product messaging that are running.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us put in-product messaging more easily without having to hard code it.

  ### 34. Chameleon - Strong and Easy to Use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlie B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It is a very easy tool to use, with a variety of features that are helpful for onboarding. Our customer success manager is really easy to work with and is always helpful with finding straightforward solutions.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I think that there are some technical issues every once in a while - however it doesn't disrupt the workflow and has been easy to solve.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon is helping us engage with customers through our platform that would otherwise not interact with our outreach via email. This has helped us with our onboarding programs, platform release communications, and other major initiatives that we want to communicate with our customers.

  ### 35. Great tool to help new users onboard but with some limitations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Provides tons of options to customize the experiences and make them look native.
The walkthroughs are also great and full customizable.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

This tool can quickly become expensive if you need to integrate it with the rest of the ecosystem. I wish some integrations (Hubspot) would be on all plans.

The tooltips are also not as good as what some of their competitors offer.

Lack of analytics.

No live chat for support

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps new users understand how to navigate our product during their trial. It also helps us guide those users.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Hi, thanks for the positive review and happy you like the customizability 😀

- Hubspot integration: we can add that to your account for a small upgrade as part of an unlisted plan that's between "Startup" and "Growth". Please email me (pulkit at chameleon dot io)

- Tooltips: would love to know what's missing! Our Tooltips allow you to add custom icons as triggers, include media (photos/videos), multiple buttons, with different actions etc. but always interested in improving.

- Analytics: we are intentionally not building a product analytics platform, because in our opinion a single product can't be the best at in-product experiences (there's still so much to build in this category) and also product analytics (which is its own category with big players like Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap, Fullstory etc.) However we do provide analytics on Chameleon Experiences and have recently improved these to show flow diagrams and more data. Lmk if you think there are any specific improvements to make on this.

- Live chat: similar to above, we think chat belongs closer to your support ticketing tool / help desk and have deep integrations with Zendesk, Intercom, Help Scout etc. We also offer a simple AI-enabled Q&A via our free HelpBar product so you may want to consider that.

Anyway hope to hear from you!

  ### 36. Setting up segments

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

UI tools are fairly robust and options on tour types

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Setting up segments is very difficult, integration with Mixpanel has issues - segments don't always show you number of people in them

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly onboarding

  ### 37. Great tool & great customer support!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kerstin H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon has been a great platform to build in-app tours, announcements, and surveys. This has helped us guide our users on how to utilize new features and notify them of upcoming events right in their workflow. Also, Andrew has provided amazing customer support! He is always quick to respond and teaches us how we can better leverage the platform for our needs.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It can sometimes be difficult to find certain features and the UI/UX can be improved.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Educating customers on how to utilize new changes and alert them of changes in the product

  ### 38. Chameleon: Top-notch PAP

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo K. | Tech Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

All the native integrations with other tools, such as Mixpanel and Segment, and the sophisticated features we can use to create contextual experiences. The support from the CSMs and team is something to highlight as well.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There are no significant issues, but we'd love to be able to use event properties as well. Nevertheless, we can build many things using the segmentation features available or even integrating Mixpanel's cohorts.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deliver dynamic and verticalized onboarding experiences personalized to specific use cases instead of having one shown to all users. We have exciting results regarding sign-up retention, activation, and other success metrics.

  ### 39. Great potential but very buggy

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jozef S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

- When everything works it's quite easy to set things up (Spoiler: often it doesn't)
- It's relatively powerful with what it allows a non-developer to do
- Customer support is fast
- Working hard on new features

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

- Very buggy, I had to debug a lot, and many times the problem was on Chameleon side
- It kept on breaking without any changes on our side (new bugs introduced, settings somehow reverted, ...)
- For the amount of trouble it's quite pricy
- Not as powerful as one would expect

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for implementing a tour for our Trial to explain the platform and help peoeple to get the most out of it.
And the idea was to have a platform we can use to experiment with and change things without a need of a developer.

  ### 40. Good product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The NPS microsurvey has been useful and the walk throughs. Customer suport has been very good and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Data is stored in the US so we are not able to store some personal data that we would like to use. This would be possible if stored in the UK or EU.
Some limitations on how it is used and we have had some issues and teething problems

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving our guidance away from a library and into the app

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> We do store data in the US, and offer DPAs to enable GDPR-compliant transfers. We're also happy to talk with your security team to help them comfortable in sharing whatever personal data you'd like to with Chameleon; while we don't require any personally identifiable data to be effective, many Chameleon customers do send this kind of data. However if that's not feasible, you can conduct your analysis in your existing tools and we can help ensure all Chameleon data is integrated with/exported to your systems and tools of record (in the UK/EU) via our native integrations or APIs. Let us know if we can help with that!

  ### 41. Easy to use but a bit expensive

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Easy to use, gives you a lot of possibilities for user onboarding

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is a bit pricy, especially because we are not getting the best of it at this moment.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our product have a difficult learning curve, we are using chameleon to try to turn it easier to learn

  ### 42. Perfect tool to make in-app announcements/banners/launchers and tours with 0 code

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Perfect tool to make in-app announcements/banners/launchers and tours that look native. All that without a single line of code, and with plenty of options for customisation. They also provide great support and plenty of integrations.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I haven't found anything that would speak against using Chameleon yet.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Product Announcments, Onboarding Tours, NPS, Billing Reminders

  ### 43. A time saver

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diogo C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Super easy to use and it was easy to integrate in our platform. It saves a lot of time to our support team and empowers our PMs to create their own tours and pushing new features.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The UI and UX stills feels a bit outdated at times

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves adding quick maintenance messages, launching new features, NPS score etc.

  ### 44. Chameleon provides the potential to revamp our onboarding process

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The diverse experiences one can provide their users, quick response for customer support.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The challenges of integration depending on how complex your product is, dictates how much you can unlock from Chameleon's offerings.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing confusion upon first visit of our platform

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Hi there, I'd love to learn more about what your specific challenges were and where you might not have been able to unlock the full benefit. I'd be happy to help you find solutions to ensure you're driving great value!

I imagine one aspect could be how much user data you are sharing, and therefore whether you're able to effectively target users in-app. This is not an uncommon concern but one we've addressed well (considering we serve many security, EU-based, and other products that are highly sensitive) -- you don't need to send us any personally identifiable info (e.g. email address) to target users; you can simply send non PII (e.g. their plan, or sign-up date etc.) You can also integrate with many solutions (such as analytics tools, CRMs, Reverse ETL solutions etc.) that enable you to create the target audience, and then target that audience via Chameleon (simply using a UID). If you do want to send PII we have an excellent security posture, including SOC 2 Type II compliance for multiple years running; continuous compliance monitoring; GDPR compliance; ongoing bug bounty program etc. You can read more about that here: https://www.chameleon.io/security

It's in our mutual interest to help you unlock the most value from Chameleon so please enable us to help you! Feel free to email me at pulkit at chameleon dot io or send me a LinkedIn DM or email our support team at help at chameleon dot io.

  ### 45. Great for testing features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Ease of use to setup tours and launchers.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Gets complicated in terms of the overload of analytics and data it displays.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to announce new features to customers easily.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> hi there, would love to learn more about what was complicated! We recently shipped an update that made our analytics more visual (a map of flows for users) and will soon be making it easier to show you exactly which user took which action. I'd love to make further improvements based on your feedback, especially because of your overall rating!

  ### 46. Brilliant Tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's incredibly intuitive, so you require very little training to understand its capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I haven't had any issues at present so nothing to add at this point.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Welcome tours to clearly guide users around a website (ensure they have a good experience when first using the tool as an example). Also, build easy tooltips to educate users.

  ### 47. Very helpful in providing your users with necessary information for onboarding.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Everything saves automatically, with many options to implement.
Customer support is easy to access and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It can be tricky to get exactly what you want without a lot of trial and error.
Quite a few obvious things are missing i.e. having multiple questions in a microsurvey (currently having to create different microsurveys and link them).

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboarding onto our product was pretty much non-existent without domain help, creating a self-service process.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> hey, glad you like the options and support, and I'm sorry that you've had to go through so much trial and error! If there are any particular aspects of the product that are extra confusing, I'd love to know so we can prioritize improving them.

On the topic of multiple Qs in Microsurveys this is my fault and I'll explain: over time users get weary of getting asked lots of questions -- it's one of the reasons that online surveys have terrible clickthrough and completion rates. So in our attempt to create a systemic advantage for long-term response rates we restricted Microsurveys to be a single question.. with the knowledge that you can run multiple at different times or strung together if really needed.

But the good news is that we're currently undertaking some work to make the second input (currently "Comments") much more flexible so you'll get 2-3 questions available in a Microsurvey. Beyond that it won't really be a "micro"survey so I hope that compromise works for you!

Happy to chat more including on a live call if you like :)

  ### 48. Intuitive and powerful for creating connected webs of experiences

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katherine S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon offers a wide variety of integrations with our other tools. The ability to connect experiences like tours, microsurveys, and announcements helps to create a tailored onboarding or introduction to new features. The customer support reps are adept at problem solving as well as suggesting best practices.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

In platform analytics of walkthroughs and surveys could be expanded on, but the ability to export data works around this.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy in-platform onboarding and surveying.

  ### 49. Best user guiding tool on the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It is incredibly easy to implement AND use. My company's SPA has had issues with similarly functioning tools, but Chameleon's hyperconfigurable nature enables us to create guides and improve our user experience with ease. The tool is not just effective, but fun to use.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

N/A, can't beat this user guiding tool, I can only recommend it.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is A) helping us get to market w/ tests, experiences, and features as we can bypass the typical product development life cycle B) improving our UX and conversion metrics by using helpful tours, and C) giving us the chance to quickly pilot new partners in Modular and segmented advertisements.
