The good part of Cequence Security that I have most appreciated is how well it is in identifying multiple threat types including bots and app threats. It works well with other systems that we have in place now like our SIEM so that in real time we are getting threat information without adding to our workload. It’s particularly useful because it doesn’t generate many false positives, and this helped to enhance our security as well as our response time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One problem with Cequence Security is it is hard to dial in the right amount of specificity for more specific or uncommon threats. It’s good for threat detection in the broad but adjusting some things for niche security concerns was hard. This sometimes results in either losing the value of alerts or creating so much noise that it hinders our speed to respond to critical events. It also works with other tools, but while the sync is a bit faster between platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am really fond of how Cequence Security solves the problem of protecting our APIs and web applications. This is a game changer for us because it can detect and mitigate automated attacks in real time. This used to take us so much time from monitoring and responding to security incidents, now we can do other things. What’s more, the platform’s machine learning is helping us save time and resources by learning from new threats and adapting to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So do not take me wrong, I still believe that Cequence Security is a great tool I still think the interface can be confusing sometimes. So as you can probably imagine it gets very confusing when one is trying to navigate in between all the features and sub features. Furthermore, as with any kind of system integration, there have been one or two incidences where the system did not entirely harmonize with other security appliances that we employ hence leading to a slightly disrupted operation. What I like most about Cequence Security is that it provides all round protection to web applications against all kind of cyber threats. What has been critically important in securing our online services is that the platform does a great job detecting and thwarting automated attacks like bots. I also like how smoothly it fits within our existing security setup: the simple connection to our SIEM system so we can centralize security monitoring and incident response. Cequence Security may be slightly cumbersome to set up initially in some areas particularly when defining the rules to use in fighting certain threats. The software, on the other hand, is rather strong and valuable but it did take some time to get them optimized. Also, the reporting features can be more realized and they are simple in use. It becomes slightly difficult to retrieve detailed information should this be required and this at times makes our response rates relatively slow during an incident. I like the way that Cequence Security always protects us from advanced attacks, without overwhelming us with too much noise around the alerts. The software is always updated, and the repeated updates ensure the software is always reliable enough to stay ahead of new attack methods. Its resource efficiency impressed me as it doesn’t interfere with our systems or screw up workflows – a great thing for a busy environment. That’s reliable and quietly gets the job done in the background. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The one downside of Cequence Security is that there is no straightforward communication between platforms on a single dashboard. Some parts are not as clear as others when trying to fix a potential threat, which is why it can take additional time to get the details worked out. Because we’re trying to interpret the data, this sometimes slows down decision making. Explanation or contextual insights would be provided better way for making quick and confident act when a time sensitive issue arises. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cequence has been able to protect our Ecommerce website from bad actors and threats that are out there for the past 6-7 years, so we can focus on delivering exceptional experiences to our Guests. We know in this modern era, bad actors and threats are always a notch up and come with suphosticated attack patterns. Cequence has been partnering very well with our own internal Risk and Security team and also with our Operations teams seamlessly. We adopted Cequence very early on. The implementation was smooth and they also supported us through our Digital Transformation journey when we moved from On Prem implementation to Cloud. They bring constant changes and innovation to their platform whcih help us stay upto date in this space. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One downside of having Cequence in our Ecom website traffic flow is that they are inline between our CDN and Cloud Layer, especially since they are deployed in a different cloud provider than ours. We would have preferred for them to be more closely located in the same Public Cloud provider as us and in the same region. Also another major concern is the false positives that occurs at times. Totally understand the complexity, but would be nice if the systems can reduce the false positives to NIL :-) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cequence's ability to caputre API traffic and automatically detect and present that data for inventorying and analyzing is awesome! Cequence allows for a wide variety of custimization for things like Risk Categories, Sensitive Data, Data Extractions, Rule Writing & Policy, etc. For any issues, Cequence support has a quick and knowledgable response. The tool, though robust, is fairly straight forward allowing quick adoption. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Anything disliked is continually discussed and fixed in later versions. The Cequence support team does a great job of answering any issues and making adjustments to fit a specific envionrment. Their continued dedication is a major contributor to the success of this API security tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They are totally committed to our success. They are on with us through ups and downs and always respond if we have an issue. They really want to help and are totally focused on this space. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have had small issues around vulnerabilities in the product but they have always worked with us to get them cleared and to be honest, some of it falls to our cloud team's requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cequence Security has become a core part of our cybersecurity toolkit. It keeps our APIs secure without adding extra work, and it just works seamlessly in the background. The platform adapts quickly to new threats, so we’re always confident that our applications are protected. It’s reliable, efficient, and lets us focus on other priorities knowing our security is covered. We’d recommend Cequence to anyone looking for dependable, straightforward API security. Sometimes under heavy load the dashboard becomes unusable, but that's rare and seems to have been addressed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cequence has a lot of features with AI/ML integrated into the tool and customer support is awesome Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Dashboard needs to be drilled down like if we click on OWASP top 10 all the events related should be opened. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cequence Security’s capacity to detect and counter automated bot attacks is perhaps one of the most impressive things that I came across. Its an AI driven solution that immediately recognizes and covers risks to our web applications. As our current architecture is integrated with the company’s SIEM and WAF systems, it is easy to add the solution to our security defense. Additionally, it increases controllability in acute security incidents and the convenient dashboard helps to manage them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A disadvantage of Cequence Security is that the software is not as detailed in terms of the number of analyses that can be done. This hampers the opportunity of organisational security incidents analysis and may call for additional work. But it is compatible with other security tools and if they provide more guidelines and documentation about how it can be integrated further then it will prove beneficial. This sometimes results in a certain level of latency in fully capitalizing on those integration opportunities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I personally like the user experience of the product with Intuitive UI.
Setup is very simple as it requires no code instrumentation and no need of learning new technology.
Product Comes with bundled license of discovery, compliance and protection of API's and can go with standalone license based on customer requirement.
We have seen live API attacks being detected and mitigated it could be API threats ,fingerprint scans,Vulnerabilties analysis, bot attacks etc
Cequence security comes with lot of integration with SIEM solutions as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cost of the bundled license seems high as they come with Spyder,Sentinel & spartan
Cequence security requires multiple downtimes of our application to manage there infra in terms of product upgrades etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
