Centric PLM Pros and Cons

Centric PLM is exceptionally well thought out. It's obvious the various modules were developed from the same point of view - in other words, they were NOT all written independently and then cobbled together. If the user understands functionality of one section, they are intuitively able to apply that understanding to other sections. Centric is also exceptional in that the team actively seeks input from their users. They often incorporate user suggestions, which makes Centric that much more usable to the industry. Our implentation was led by an excellent Centric team which made the process quite easy and understandable. The same team helped us to integrate Centic with our existing ERP platform, saving untold hours and increasing accuracy dramatically. Customer support is excellent - whether we have a question OR a system problem, it is typically resolved within two hours. I have a tough time coming up with a downside to Centric PLM. If I had to pick something, I would have to say that a Centric purchase is not inexpensive. In fact, the team is prompt to alert interested parties that Centric may be the most expensive platform - but that it is the best available and is used by many major manufacturers. And they are correct. We paid a little more for Centric as opposed to other systems, but the time savings and increased accuracy have more than offset that increased investment. I really like that in one place you can organize and maintain what our company was using excel spreadsheets, ERP and google forms to manage. I can see this really working well for a company that works directly with suppliers and factories on getting their goods made and sold. I also really like the ease of pushing and pulling data using REST API, it makes the integration between the systems seem seamless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

So far, the only thing I have found frustrating is not having access to the data itself. As the tech person responsible for pushing and pulling data into/out of the system it's hard to know where to find what I'm looking for without running multiple requests to the API first. Centric has been a great tool for our Technical Design Team specifically. We find that it is faster to use than a previous system that we were in. We specifically like the plug-in/ canvas templates/ and ease in updating the measurement charts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Centric PLM is a great tool for managing the lifecycle of project or business through centralized system.

It offers multiple features like tracking of orders,scheduling,reports,business planning and many more features for all in one suite for development.

All team members can frequently use it for easy tracking of open tickets, maintenance and inspection activities through metrics and insights.

It provides easy integration and implementation with databases and cloud services.

There are a lot of benefits of Centric PLM but there are few points to be considered while using it like -

i. High skilled professional to setup the initials on the software and handle it concurrently.

The implementation was not a good experience at the company so many team members at first did not like it and we are dealing with issues still from being set up improperly years ago.
