Also, I would recommend you take a look at our recently released Open Source Safety score that aggregates all open source risks (vulnerability, license, obsolescence) into a single score for Software Composition Analysis. What do you like best about CAST Highlight?

the process embedded in the tool

- it works with a small interview

- it works with real source code scanning

Jochen, thank you for your review and feedback. Regarding your comment on security scanning, it is true that CAST Highlight is not a Static Application Security Testing (SAST) product. CAST has another product called the CAST Engineering Dashboard which performs SAST. However, CAST Highlight does perform Software Composition Analysis (SCA) for detecting vulnerabilities in open source and third party components. You can learn more at the link provided here.

We are continuously updating our 3rd party component database regularly and the coverage continues to improve with now over 90 million 3rd party and open source components covered. What do you like best about CAST Highlight?

The ability to assess my client's entire application portfolio of custom software as well as COTS, side by side in one platform, really made our cloud migration smooth.

With CAST Highlight we were able to identify the low-hanging-fruit for cloud native transformation within the Tidal Migrations platform, and then dig deeper into specific areas of the codebases where we would need to focus on to be successful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CAST Highlight?

What do you like best about CAST Highlight?

HL played a role not only in quickly providing us with an objective assessment of the portfolio we were looking to transform but through its CVE analysis brought to our attention certain risks we were not aware of at the time. The insights that surfaced after running the analysis significantly sped up our focus areas , decision making processes and we are actively using HL to monitor and trend the progress of a rationalization initiative and migration to the cloud of key apps.
