IDEA is unlike any other software and has so many tools when using data. We use IDEA when performing audits, and while it is somewhat similar to Microsoft excel, it serves a more unique purpose and is much more powerful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You can quickly handle sync conflicts and manage versions of various documents. Layouts are customizeable. Once you understand the software itself things become more intuitive. CaseWare connecting is great to automate things inside of excel. Very nice visual representation of all documents, issues, and sign-offs. There is a steep learning curve. Some items are not super intuitive at first. CaseView lacks some features of other word processors. There are often 5 different ways to do different things, which means repeating something or figuring out how to do something can take a lot of trial and error. I dislike the trial balance entry. It hides the account codes. I wish the sum function on trial balance could include more numbers. I do not like how the system does not warn you if someone is in the same file which causes synchronization issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
