Their fixed rate does not match what it takes to own and insure a vehicle in my area. My company wants a five year or newer midsize sedan to be "in compliance" With the retail costs, insurance at the required levels they require (which is significantly higher than the state minimum required coverages) and the increased costs of maintennance and repairs; I lose money every month I drive with their software.

Entering information is fairly easy and straightforward, there is an address book, swapping personal for business mileage or vice versa is easy, there aren't any confusing or tricky area of the dashboards/trips. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I almost would prefer a more simplified view. For example, on my trips for one day if I have 15 stops, there are 15 different maps for each stop and I'd prefer to see a list style. I dislike having to press "delete" every time I delete a trip. It sounds small but a "yes or no" prompt to answer Are you sure? would make a big difference. The app generally records trips to my phone in a timely manner. It can happen on occasion that a trip won't show up for some time after the trip is ended. I also like that trips can be cancelled. The mileage recording app we used previously depleted the phone's battery much more than CarData, although both apps require location to aleays be turned on for best results. It was easy to understand and implement the app on my phone. It is relatively easy to add a trip that was somehow missed. If it was reliable I’d have a few reasons but right now I’m forced to use it because of my company. It doesn’t always run, it sometimes stops tracking, and randomly logs you out so you have to enter credentials to get back in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Everything - the user experience for confirming mileage looks like an embedded google sheets document. A recent example of why I don’t like the app: I confirmed the app was tracking me at the beginning of my day (which you have to do because it isn’t reliable). The first part of my trip was tracked successfully but the second leg of 150+ miles, was not at all. So now I get to go back and guesstimate on my mileage and reimbursement. This isn’t the first time this has happened. The app has also stopped tracking in heavy congestion and doesn’t always start back up after through the congestion…how many miles have I lost in these situations? Dunno. For several months I ended up subscribed to another mileage tracking app just to get a second opinion on my monthly miles - Cardata never matched the other apps miles and was always much less. This should not be an exhausting effort added to the daily to do list for traveling sales reps. Set it and forget it because it is reliable should be the goal. Epic fail. Cardata is a very easy and seamless way to track the miles you are putting on your car for work purposes. It is also easy to say if those miles are for work or if they are personal miles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cardata has been a great app. I like how you can filter between classified and unclassified trips to easily register those trips. I use the app daily so I like the easy integration and implementation of setting a Monday-Friday time work schedule. Just set it and forget it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The one thing I do wish this app had was the ability to see how many personal & business miles I've accumulated [total] thus-far in the current month cycle. While miles have to be approved, this will at least give you an indication of how much the reimburstment amount will be instead of waiting till the end of the cycle.
