I genuinely do not like this software...

Everytime you review a monthly commission it shows YTD. You have to filter every single tab - you're not able to do it for all tabs at the same time. Very time consuming. You also cannot see all the data on a single screen the way it's laid out.

It's only causing me problems. There is no benefit to me at this time,

It has a fairly transparent way of showing which data worksheets, formulas etc. link to one another, which is very helpful for configuration and troubleshooting.

Some of the Help material is written based on the older navigation layout/interface, which can sometimes make following the Help guides a little difficult.

It provides a trusted platform with strong governance to improve confidence in our commissions and incentives calculations.

I appreciate how easy it is to build out a commission plan, view live data, and generate reports.

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

I'm still not sure how to write formulas in CIQ as I need to familiarize myself with the syntax.  Having a glossary and examples of key terms and formulas may be helpful.

**What problems is CaptivateIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us to automate our sales commission process so that we don't spend hours manually doing it.

**What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?**

Super clean and concise reporting. I love the email that tells me how much I should be expected for my upcoming commission paycheck. Its rewarding to see the result of my work from the last month and I really appreciate that if I do not want to, I do not have to go to CapitvateIQ in order to do so. If I want to, Capitivate IQ gives me a detailed list of where/why I received the money that I will be receiving and makes it easy to analyze. This inspires me to work harder so that I can get that email of my comission coming, up!

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

I really do not have any cons of Captivate.

**What problems is CaptivateIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Capitivate IQ solves the question of where my comission check is coming from, what deals contributed to it. It is nice to have that breakdown without having to ask my manager.

The platform is very easy to use. I do use the platform only about once a month when I am approving commission statements, but I never have an issue with the system. I especially like the graphics that it provides.

Nothing especially comes to mind. I will once again admit that I only use the platform about once a month but whenever I use the platform it is a quick and easy experience!

I like how CaptivateIQ gives me updates at any time of how I am trending each month! It is helpful if I did ever want to go in and see where my monthly compensation stands.

Load/wait times can be frustrating. Loading statements can take up to a minute, which feels like a long time.

CaptivateIQ provides a single source of truth for accessing my compensation statements. Again, the inquiries tab makes filing tickets simple. The dashboards are useful for getting a visual.

I love that you can preview upcoming statements. I also love the ability to lookback at recent pay statements and performance. great layout

The landing page seems different sometimes. And it sometimes takes a while to load. I also get confused on how to submit an inquiry sometimes.

It gives me direct insight into all of my deals, the commission calculation and allows me to dispute them right in the platform itself. It saves tons of time when reviewing and comparing deals from salesforce to my commission statement.

I can check my upcoming commission checks which helps me forecast my spend and budget for my family.

I like how simple CaptivateIQ is to set up, and it gives the flexibility of designing any kind of commission plan. Our commission plans change often in terms of the components, so being able to make adjustments to the plan is very easy to manage.

They do have reporting capability but that can be improved.

**What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?**

At my company, my primary use of CaptivateIQ is accessing the dashboards for our recognition system. I appreciate being able to set that page as my default when I open the website, which makes things more convenient. I also find the summary pages helpful, as they allow me to quickly view totals without having to sift through detailed pages. When we first launched CaptivateIQ, I found it very straightforward to learn how to navigate the application. I use CaptivateIQ every day so I need a system that is quick and easy to read.

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

When using the dashboards, I wish there were an option to save my filter settings as a default, so I wouldn't have to reapply them each time. At times, exporting the data to Excel feels more convenient than using the search feature. However, this might be due to the way our system is configured, as I am an end-user.

**What problems is CaptivateIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an admin supporting a salesperson, CaptivateIQ allows me to track our progress and see how we are performing in terms of recognition within the company.

Captivate IQ has a very nice UI compared to other tools on the market that I've used in the past. I like that it is fairly simple to navigate, and easy to use compared to other tools I've used in the past.

I wouldn't necessarily say I dislike anything on CaptivateIQ, however I don't get much use out of the tasks tool.

They are solving an easy to use, and appealing UI sales compensation tool. It's directly benefitting me, because I can quickly reference my comp plans, payouts, etc without spending too much time in a tool.

**What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?**

What I like most about CaptivateIQ is how easy it makes a traditionally messy and time-consuming process. Building and managing complex commission plans feels more intuitive, almost like working in a spreadsheet but with far more structure and reliability. I can set up logic, customize calculations, and push changes without relying heavily on engineers, which gives me a lot more control and flexibility.

It’s also great from a transparency standpoint. Reps can log in anytime and clearly see how their commissions are calculated, which helps build trust and cuts down on questions or disputes. The tool is fast, easy to navigate, and backed by solid support, making it feel like a real partner in managing incentive comp, not just another piece of software.

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

While CaptivateIQ is a strong platform overall, I’d love to see more robust visualization options within the statement design. The current setup is functional, but adding more ways to visually represent performance, like charts, graphs, or goal tracking progress bars, would make statements more engaging and easier for reps to understand at a glance. Enhancing this area would improve transparency and help reinforce motivation by making comp data more intuitive and actionable.

CaptivateIQ is solving the complexity and inefficiency of managing incentive compensation by automating calculations, centralizing data, and providing visibility for both admins and reps. It eliminates manual work and reduces errors that often come with spreadsheets, which saves time and builds trust in the process. For me, it means I can manage complex comp plans at scale, make updates quickly, and provide reps with clear insights into their earnings, ultimately improving accuracy, transparency, and rep engagement across the board.

**What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?**

I really appreciate the UI of this tool.  It not only accommodates complex formulas (if you know how to write Excel formulas, you'll have an easy time coming up to speed on CIQ formulas), but it also makes it very easy to backtrack and find where a formula is not accounting for a specific kind of transaction.  I am the sole administrator of variable comp for our company (monthly, quarterly, and annual frequencies) and the nature of how this tool works allows me to efficiently clone plans and create new plans, and/or clone plan years.  I've always received very prompt responses when I have questions for support, and they always make sure my questions are fully resolved.

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

The only area for improvement is the ease of reporting, although I say that while seeing firsthand that they've been focusing on making the reporting easier.  I certainly appreciate the Quick Reports and Global Attributes!  They have made my reporting easier, although for new customers this will still be a learning curve.

**What problems is CaptivateIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CaptivateIQ is allowing us to scale our variable compensation plans, and furthermore the users find it intuitive which is rare with software!  This is allowing our company to grow with payees while still having only myself administer the plans.

CaptivateIQ has been a game-changer for our commission management.  One of the things I appreciate most is how customizable the platform is.  It makes implementing our commission plans straightforward and efficient.  The flexibility to adjust existing plans or add new ones as our business evolves is a major benefit, but making it easy is a significant bonus.
The user interface is intuitive, and it has helped us streamline many of our internal processes, saving both time and effort.  The CaptivateIQ team is knowledgeable and supportive.  They were incredibly helpful during the design and implementation phase, guiding us through every step to ensure a smooth rollout.

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

Processing can be a bit slow at times, and filters take a while to update—likely due to the large data volume.

Some of the metrics and related features can be a bit confusing at first, but I believe that with time, they become much easier to understand.

It's really easy to dig in and see the deals that make up your commissions. Great way to see the full rollup. I also like the mid-month emails that come through notifying you what your end of month payout will be.

Maybe it's just the way our deals are listed, but can sometimes be confusing to understand how a payout rate was calculated.

Before there was a lack of transparency into how commissions were being calculated. This provides a single view of all deals that are rolling into your payout.

CaptivateIQ is a helpful resource for tracking commissions, and I appreciate how clearly it organizes payouts and makes the overall process easier to follow. It’s been reliable for keeping everything in one place.

That said, it would be even more useful if it displayed the full restaurant information instead of only showing the RID number. Having the actual restaurant name visible would save time and reduce the need to look up each RID separately. Adding this detail would make the platform more intuitive and significantly improve the user experience.

**What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?**

CaptivateIQ has exceeded my expectations. I have been working with different comp tools during the last 8 years and CIQ is by far the most user friendly and flexible one. Apart from offering transparency to the sales reps, it is also very easy to use from an admin perspective. It has smart features, such as the What-if calculator (that allows the reps to see the potential earnings for future deals), an embedded ticketing system (the Inquiry feature), great customization of commission statements, reports, dashboards, and even allows for the automatic identification of the deals generating true-up balances. What I like the most is that the Support team is really responsive and helpful as compared to other tools on the market (some even more reputable, see Xactly). Also, I appreciate the fact that the CIQ team always strives to improve their product and releases new features that improve the tool. I am totally content with my decision to use CIQ, because once you set it up correctly, it is very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

I cannot say that there's something I dislike about the tool. If you are not familiar with the tool then you may find its customized formulas odd, or maybe some features may seem difficult to use (such as Advanced Reporting), but with some training everything makes sense.

CIQ is a great compensation tool. It offers flexibility in creating and managing commission plans. It allows admins to manage compensation throughout the business cycle from the starting point of routing the sales compensation plans via DocuSign to the sales employees until they earn their commissions and they get paid.

I've been using CaptivateIQ for 5 years at different organizations and I'm generally very impressed with its performance overall.  As an Admin of the platform, I have witnessed the evolution of the platform to incorporate more features and the company is extremely responsive customer feedback and recommendations for enhancements.  The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, which allows for quick onboarding of new Admins / Users and has significantly sped up my teams' workflow.  Integrations are easy to setup and maintain.  I would Overall, I would highly recommend CaptivateIQ for its ease of use and efficiency.

CapitvateIQ is a relatively newer entrant to the ICM marketplace.  The platform may lack some of the  features of more established ICM tools, but the gap between themselves and their competitors has narrowed significantly and the company consistently releases enhancements that enhance the Admin (and User) experience regularly.

We use it weekly to manage and review payouts, and it’s become an essential part of our workflow. The implementation process was also seamless, which made adoption across our team quick and painless. The biggest upsides are accurate and timely commission payments, plus transparent reporting—our sales team can log in anytime to view their current and historical pay, which builds trust and reduces questions.

I like the global attributes addition and that moving from one plan to another has become easier. Captivate really helps us organize our data. Overall data entry and navigation has become simpler in Captivate with the improvements they have made.

Creating dashboards and platforms for managers to view their employees is difficult and not very user friendly.  We struggle with building dashboards on our own.

I wish that CaptivateIQ had the ability to update comp plans in real time. I don't love that I can't see how I am doing for the month and have to wait until the new month to see my commission. I wish it was updated daily so you could see how you were performing for the month.

The spreadsheets and formulas can be complicated, generally need to pay for a specialists hours to get new plans built or old plans changed or rolled into the new year.
