**What do you like best about Capterra?**

I manage the admin side of Capterra and like the reporting options available to help track CPC, spend, conversion rates, and leads. Capterra has a very user-friendly site and bidding platform.

**What do you dislike about Capterra?**

Because Capterra is a bidding CPC site, the best software solutions aren't necessarily listed at the top. The top recommendations are those solutions paying to be at the top. It makes ratings and reviews a little less impactful.

**What problems is Capterra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We receive a sizeable amount of leads from our Capterra listing each month. The leads we receive know what services we provide because they have done their research through Capterra to learn more about our solution.

It's very simple. Everyone can easily understand what they wants. So I liked very ouch. IInd best is they pay high rates.

Nothing dislike but they paid at the end of month and you can review only 2 projects per month. This limit should be 5 per month

**What do you like best about Capterra?**

They are very upfront about how they make money - telling you they list products even if they have no business relationship with the company.

**What do you dislike about Capterra?**

However, they leave off that they filter listings by 'Sponsored' by default. This means the products are listed in the exact order of bid - starting with the highest bidder. Other platforms may present sponsored listings by appending one or two to the top of a properly ranked results page sorted by average review - not make the _entire_ results page purely ads. On top of that, they use dark patterns to increase click-throughs to paid listings by making the main listing link - which opens more details on non-sponsored listings - go directly to your site. Since 99% of the time the user was trying to click more details (read your reviews), they will invariably bounce, returning to Capterra to click the correct "See details" link instead - with your ad budget a few bucks lighter.

I like that I can go to the website, type in the kind of software or website that I'm looking for and be given multiple options and have access to everyone's reviews that have used the product.

So far I haven't found any downsides. They provide me with the information I need when I'm starting to research for a new project.

Reviewing and comparing different products when i'm starting a new implementation project. I'm always trying to find new and better ways to do things and Capterra helps me find good options to solve my problems.

**What do you like best about Capterra?**

Capterra is an easy way to find software alternatives and to see how users rated the software rather than how a magazine or an online source rated it. They offer incentive for reviews as well, but there are some issues with that.

**What do you dislike about Capterra?**

They have an incentive program where they offer incentives for writing reviews. After a while, they still send you incentive offers, but even if you take them, they don't pay out, saying you reached your maximum. That should be clearly stated somewhere and one should not receive emails from them offering incentive if one is not eligible.

**Recommendations to others considering Capterra:**

Capterra is very similar to G2 but is not as nice to use. The review process is not as guided and the customer support team had trouble satisfyingly answering my questions. The worst is how they send offers for incentives only to tell you you reached you maximum review payouts only AFTER you submit tens of reviews.

**What problems is Capterra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is easy to see which software people prefer to other alternatives and which software is cheaper to acquire. That cuts time and costs and is overall good for the company.

It was instantly connected to a number of other review-leaving websites. But that's basically an asset a site can have when they monopolize listing platforms.

**What do you dislike about Capterra?**

Unfriendly to smaller companies. They get paid by larger companies to remove your listing.  Their lack of transparency is insulting. They removed 20% of our published reviews, because it wasn't aligned with their guidelines – despite the fact that we requested professional reviewers and those familiar with Capterra guidelines to leave the reviews.

If anything, it caused problems for us and our reputation management.

The platform provides review collection abilities, resources, and incentives.

**What do you dislike about Capterra?**

-The bidding system for review placement is not transparent. In theory, it is supposed to be based on your maximum bid and review recency. We have documented several times where this wasn't the case. 
-Concerns about the above to Capterra support and staff go unanswered despite spending several thousand dollars per month. 
-Traffic volume is much less compared to other sites like TrustRadius and G2. It's also nice that those sites aren't pay to play.
-Traffic quality is much lower than other review websites.

Based on the above I can't recommend Capterra to other organizations.

If there is something that stands out from capterra is the accessibility and ease of searching for platforms and / or services that complement my billing work in the office, the elements of each software are well structured with substantial information to select the most appropriate. In the billing category you can see from billing software to recurring billing software, among others.

Something I would like you to add is to solve questions within the same platform from the suppliers, because it would be more direct communication.

**Recommendations to others considering Capterra:**

My recommendation is that you know well to which category the software you want belongs, since the product does not appear directly in the search.

Through capterra's service I have been able to find functional and updated tools for my invoicing area, we have adopted a new program to automate the invoicing process which has reduced errors that were present in my department when this work was done manually. Capterra's filters allowed me to quickly locate the tools I now work with.

A platform with all the key elements to know and deepen about the software. In the first instance it acts as a search engine by category, in my case I usually look for tools for forecasting and sales management. Each software has its description, option of plans and prices, functionality and user reviews as well as links that send you directly to the provider. Any platform, no matter how unknown, can be found in capterra, which is very useful for the company when deciding on a product.

I don't like the support of this platform as it doesn't provide effective attention since you have to wait a long time. On the other hand there are software that their reviews are not up to date and we obviously as a company pay special attention to this.

If you like to see the opinions of other users, do not forget to filter them by the most recent ones, as this is not automatically reflected on the page.

It has been useful in many occasions to get working tools that are later implemented in the company, the truth has been very successful to have a variety of software organized with enough information to have clear criteria and hire any service when the company requires it.

It is like a One-stop-shop to know information, real-time user reviews about any product in one place. It helps us find alternatives of the product, compare with similar products and helps to make a decision.

The time taken for the validation team to publish a review takes too much time (around three weeks), whereas the other review platform like G2 processes the same in just one or couple of days.

Capterra's listing ads are sneaky and brilliant. For a particular b2b campaign, Capterra's PPC made a mark and helped our client secure highly qualified leads fast. The leads were warm and of high quality, than other inbound campaigns, we ran for the client.

The PPC cost might be a tad bit high and the self-serve campaign is not that great as compared to other ppc platforms.

Adds great SEO value for your brand (not the site) and also a great PPC program for B2B lead gen

B2B Lead generation. While I first started with Capterra for my client's SEO presence, I've soon realized that Capterra also has a PPC platform which actually provided to be profitable.

It is one of the best platforms to get a better product for your organization . You will get better software by comparing it with other competitors. You will get reviews from users around the globe based on which you can decide about the product you want to buy. For product owners, they can list their products and get reviewed by real and authenticate users. Based on the feedback, they can improve their product to meet the market standard. They have very simple UI.It has various categories from which you can choose your product.

The thing I dislike the most is that they are not rewarding that reviewer properly. Some reviews are not legit. If you review a product directly by sign in to your LinkedIn account, it will not reflect in your profile review list.

I appreciate the ability to compare similar products side by side and the respective features.

It rarely has actual information about pricing, and I'm suspicious about authenticity when I know people are compensated for reviews.

I also don't feel that it necessarily reaches our target market, which is people who are NOT currently using software.

We are getting our name out there for people who are not familiar with our software. I like that folks who may not be happy with their current software may find reviews of other folks who switched to ours- word of mouth is the best marketing.

I like the friendly user interface and how informative the website is. Rather than reading tons of text to get what you need, Detailed reviews are posted clearly. And even video reviews are available for users who like to hear rather than reading. And compared with its competitors Capterra gets more traffic than others and they have a vast collection of software to chose from.

I dislike the fact that it has no data available for any reviewers. If they have built a reviewer profile that way it'll be easier to understand and analyze the review.

Before buying software, I'd like to read some reviews and get the opinion from some users. With Capterra I can read reviews and learn about the advantages and disadvantages of alternative applications.

The amount of software available for review and eligible for rewards are more and you could choose any piece of software you use to review. It's really quite simple.

**What do you dislike about Capterra?**

The searching UI for software differs quite a bit from G2. You're never sure if you chose the right software (for software with ambiguous names, i.e: ZOOM) so you'll have to go check first because there's no logo shown on the search results dropdown.

Be honest about reviews, because you're reviewing for the sake of other potential software users. The feedback you give could help a company or organisation because of you. Only review if you've used or you currently use the software.

Nearly all of the softwares' review are easily available on Capterra for the readers to read. The reviews help a lot for the readers to make a comprehensive view regarding a software.

The interface of Capterra is very complex and slow. Sometimes Capterra's page keeps loading  that is very annoying. Also, there ar very old reviews on Capterra that are often not useful at all.

what could be good is overshadowed by their unethical approach to business.

**What do you dislike about Capterra?**

I am a Software Vendor and a few months back I created a profile on Capterra.com and Capterra UK is part of the same company and has the same policies) and because the profile was not complete i got in touch with them and asked them to unpublish the profile and they said that they would not unpublish it and leave the incomplete profile online and live.

CONCLUSION 1: Capterra "knowingly" publishes incomplete information about companies on their website.

I then logged into my account trying to find the "unpublish" button which was nowhere to be found.

The way they design the signup process for vendors is also design in a way so you as a vendor do not have full control over the profile.

I then asked them to remove the incomplete profile and exchanged approx 15 emails with them and they claimed:

"In accordance with standard reviews industry practices, we do not remove listings for software products that are currently available for purchase. The reason for this is that our mission is to provide software buyers with all available information, in order to help them make an informed purchasing decision."

CONCLUSION 2: Capterra leverages our intellectual property and uses our name and brand on their website against our will.

it can be concluded that this is a subtle form of intellectual property data theft justified with some mission which is NOT endorsed by us as Vendors.

Capterra enforces this procedure onto our company and brand although we have expressed, in writing that we wish for the profile we have created to be removed from their website.

Furthermore,

The decision to be removed also stems from their whole biased approach to review collection.

What they basically do is BRIBE review writers by giving them a 20$ amazon gift card in exchange for a review.

CONCLUSION 3: This is an UNETHICAL BRIBE paid for, unknowingly, by the Vendors themselves which have to pay money to get the top spots in the search results.

The other VERY SHADY tactic they employ is to ask you to give them your customer email list so that they can email and bribe your customers for you.

We did not send them our customer list and i hope that businesses do not do this ever as most probably they use those email lists to cross-market competing products to your list.

I come to this conclusion simply because of their UNETHICAL borderline intellectual property theft stance of "forcefully" taking brand names they did not build and which generate searches to their site FOR FREE and go ahead and are well happy to publish incomplete and not researched information on their website.

This approach can have damaging results for the brands and Capterra is very well aware of this and that is the reason why they urge you to complete the profile while they start hitting you with calls to upgrade your account and pay them to get higher into their listings...

All of this while they BRIBE reviewers with gifts which in return, for the most part, will write biased reviews about the products featured on their site.

CONCLUSION 4: Capterra harms Software brands, like ours, because they publish incomplete and incorrect data about our company on their site and this is harmful to our intellectual property, company, and brand.

This is another reason why Capterra is deeply biased as a source of information because it is incomplete, not up to date and incorrect.

Forcing a company to have such an incomplete profile on their site and not giving users the ability to unpublish profiles is borderline intellectual property and data theft.

QA for Customer reviews is establshed which screens, and assures the effectiveness of reviews and reviewer credibility.
Gifts cards are even MasterCard too which are internationally recognised at shopping marts.

QA is not effective in any way, irrlevant reviews are too posted.
Makes fake commitments in comgain to reviewer.

Extremely unhelpful customer support.
They fail to honor their promises and publish customers reviews without awarding the gift cards they had promised.
Its impossible to track the progress of submitted reviews and their tool is not in this way customer friendly.

I would recommend it only as a tool to obtain helpful information on software however based on my experience I would not advise anyone to submit reviews for them since they really don't keep their promises and you cant follow up with your reviews after that.
