Really helps identifying the 2.0 solutions out there! **What do you dislike about Capterra?** The stars system is good but a little misleading because it is obviously a function of the total number of reviews. If someone has 200 reviews, it will obviously bring the rating down to 3.5 or 4 stars but a company with 4 reviews can be 4.5 which is inaccurate. They offer gift cards in exchange for reviews and then do not honor them **What do you dislike about Capterra?** Got an offer to send reviews. The first 3 reviews I sent had no issues and I got my Amazon Gift cards within 5 days. Then I got an email from them offering me 10 more gift cards ($100 total) for 10 more reviews. I figured great! and put time and effort into leaving well balanced reviews of all the products I used. I got the confirmation emails from them and I waited and waited.. After 2 weeks I emailed them and got back an email that said that they had reviewed my case, that I had violated their T&C and that my account was fraudulent! Of all the excuses for not paying to be had. If I had more time I would take them to court just to teach them a lesson. Although based on their reviews here a class-action lawsuit is just a matter of time. UPDATE: Capterra just made a canned response to this review (it's the same as other responses so it's copy pasted). Capterrra is trying to FUD their bad reviews by implying that we as users are in breach of their terms and conditions, when in fact we are not. They just use this as an excuse for not paying. My review content 1) has not been previously published online and 2) has not been submitted with another email. I know this. They know this. Also, sometimes the leads are not the best quality. This may be due to bad traffic from time to time, but most of the time the traffic is pretty relevant. **Recommendations to others considering Capterra:** Since they have been purchased by Gartner, most of the changes have been to consolidate the different review sites they own. Some have been a good move, others have been neutral. Also, some categories are perfect, while other categories can be difficult to compete in, when speaking in terms of advertising. Absence of a self-service backoffice, so each campaign change must be asked to their personnel by email or phone. We have losen more than 10k per year to be in good position but we fiund that other our competitors just paid for fake reviews while Capterra doesn't put professional effors to enforce the quality of the reviews. We finally found that they do not verify the reviews. Many of the reviews on the other products were fake, most of them composed by just two words ike 'Good product' or ' Excellent job'. This causes us unfair competition because we really move our customers to put real reviews. I talked to different persons about these fake reviews, but they refused to remove them at all. Really bad service. Everyone can put fake reviews in Capterra and this makes it impossible for a serious company to sponsor it's own presence in Capterra. Our mistake was realizing the thing too late, but we decided to write this comment in order to warn you not to even put a dollar in Capterra. ### 39.
