## Canto Reviews
 ### 1. I love Canto!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabbi T. | Creative Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

My company has multiple brands in our parent company and we do a lot of private branding. It is easy for me to house all assets under one roof but have them grouped by brand

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I use upload link multiple times a day to send to my overseas team. I know that canto sends a link to their email, but when communicating with them it is easier to paste the link in the body of an email. it is a pain to have to edit the upload link just to copy it

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves having an easy way to view and find assets. It makes my life easier organizing dozens of brands in one place

 ### 2. Quality DAM product, thorough onboarding and good ongoing customer service.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is a solid digital asset management tool providing a good mix of functionality, features, and ease of use. The staff is very helpful from the thorough onboarding process evaluating our specific needs and then transitioning to the ongoing account management and help desk service. The team is always available and willing to assist with our needs.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The mobile experience has much to be desired. The desktop experience works well but doesn't transition to the mobile app and limited to the mobile browser usage as well. I look forward to updates to this experience.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is our company's first DAM tool and transitioned us from server storage. This has allowed us to locate, organize, and share assets much easier internally and externally. The Portals and Upload options have improved our collection and archiving of assets preventing assets from living on individual phones, memory cards, computers, and hard drives and now centrally located in a single source.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Thanks for the kind words! We're glad Canto has made your transition from server storage smoother and that our team has been a helpful part of the process. We appreciate your note on the mobile experience—it’s on our radar as we continue improving the platform. Cheers, Reagan!

 ### 3. Investing in tools for a scaling startup

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I work for a startup that is leaving its scrappy phase and starting to scale. I needed something that could grow with us.

Canto is the best for file management. My company was using google drive and it was a mess. I used canto in a previous role and advocated for it and implemented it. Using custom fields to tag all of our assets makes it very easy to narrow down my search. Portals are a a key feature for us too, as we mainly share assets with our clients and vendors and need to keep them secure. We use custom statuses to lock down assets that customers share with us so they aren't shared anywhere else. Being able to crop and resize when downloading is super helpful for my team.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It will take time to setup, and we are still figuring out how we want to organize our folders. Canto Assets can be in multiple folders, unlike dropbox or drive, which can take some getting used to. An integration to post to meta would be great, surprised canto is lacking that since there is one for Linkedin.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps is find and manage our assets and controlling access.

**Official Response from Julie Neumeister:**

> Hi there — thanks for sharing your experience! It’s great to hear Canto is helping your team grow and stay organized. Custom fields and portals are great tools for keeping everything organized and secure. We appreciate your feedback on the Meta integration and will log your request for future updates. If you need any additional support with implementation, feel free to reach out to your account manager or email customerfeedback@canto.com. We're glad to have you in the Canto community!

 ### 4. Game changer!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

facial recognition saves us so much time. And being able to search and select photos from many folders and many points in time is also way easier than it has been. I love being able to make and share collections with colleagues which really streamlines collaboration.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Some of the integrations we thought we would have are not helpful, i.e., in Facebook you can only insert one photo in a post vs a group of photos. Same for wordpress. It's not the way we use those platforms.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us to have one central location for all our photos which until now have been stored in many different places. 2) Makes it so much easier to search and find the images we need. 3) makes it possible to track how images are being used 4) Facial recognition saves us hours upon hours because we can instantly find pictures of our leadership on demand.

 ### 5. Great experience with Canto!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenneth D. | Senior Instructional Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

My experience with Canto so far has been great. Everything ran very smoothly during the onboarding the onboarding process. Henrieke Galenti did an amazing job. She was very professional, patient, and explained everything very thoroughly. Highly recommended!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I do not have any constructive criticism so far.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Asset management. It is benefiting me and my team by having all assets in one location, which helps with all facets of asset management.

 ### 6. Powerful tool that speeds up design workflow

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony M. | Owner, Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Organizing and managing our large catalog of images is made infinitely easier with Canto. We're utilizing the tools on a daily basis to review and organize images as well as placing them directly in to our design production workflows.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

We have struggled to implement Canto image reviews and other client-side usages, such as for the distribution of final artwork, brand assets, and other valuable tools for our clients.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing, tagging and filtering images in Canto is an extreme benefit to us. We also have alleviated a lot of storage and server speed issues on our internal network by utilizing Canto's cloud storage. Finally, integrating in to our Adobe design workflows helps designers create more efficiently.

 ### 7. Organization at my fingertips

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Crystal C. | Post Production Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The AI functions (facial recognition) feature is fantastic and very helpful.
The ability to share controlled links to outside vendors/clients is a big plus.
The ease in which we can rig a funtion for out needs that change our workflows and streamline them is unparalleled.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There is NO UNDO button! I love that we can now remove assets from links but you guys could really take it home with the UNDO button. Simple benefit that would help every client.

Also, the cropping feature could use a lot of work. Being able to crop and output up to a 300mg file would be very helpful and a game changer.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organization and ease of distribution for my company and clients.

 ### 8. Clean, Contemporary Interface That’s a Joy to Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Clean interface, feels like a contemporary tool.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Link management seems cumbersome (especially for an organization that shares a lot of links).

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating a centralized system that the full organization has access to. We previously used Dropbox and it was a disaster. Now people can use the search function intuitively and find the files they need.

 ### 9. Effortless for Non-Creatives, Instantly User-Friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica J. | Executive Director of Student Experience, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Easy to use for non-creative industry people. Like me.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

You search by how someone else set it up -versus what is intuitive for you.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing photo assets outside our organization easily.

 ### 10. Instrumental platform for photo library

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto has been an incredibly useful tool for our organization in managing decades’ worth of programmatic photos. The built-in tools for organizing and managing assets have been essential to our workflow.

One feature I especially appreciate is the ability to create upload links for specific albums. This has been a huge help when collecting assets from contractors and staff.

Another standout feature is the option to build custom portals for our assets. They’re easy to set up, allow for organized album structures, and let us add text boxes to provide context. Being able to share a single portal link—rather than multiple individual album links—makes content sharing much more streamlined.

Canto is used regularly by our content creators and continues to be our go-to platform for managing and sharing assets.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There are a couple of features I’m not especially fond of, mostly related to metadata fields. While it’s helpful to be able to create specific data points, there doesn’t seem to be a way to organize them into grouped sets—so all metadata fields appear in one long, unstructured list, which can be a bit much.

The only other thing I’m not a fan of is the limited customization in the portals. Aside from the landing page, there aren’t many options for customizing subpages. It would be great if some of the features available on the main portal page could also be applied to those subpages.

That said, these are fairly minor issues and don’t impact daily use.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto was a solution to an outdated photo management platform we were using that was not streamlined for the mass amounts of photos we were needing to manage and access on a regular basis. The benefit of Canto is having a place where we can easily upload, maintain and share assets easily.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi there, we really appreciate your thoughtful review! We're happy to know how Canto has helped your team manage and share such a large photo library, especially through features like upload links and custom Portals.

As for your feedback on metadata organization and portal customization, below is a quick video on branding your Canto media library, which will also apply for your Portal subpages. This is a helpful starting point, and if you have additional questions, feel free to reach out to our support team at canto-support@canto.com. ### 11. One Click Away

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like the ability to store all of our professional photography, videos, and creative assets in one place where my creative team as easy access to use when needed or to look at stored content for new ideas for projects we have in queue. Canto is extremely easy to use and access.

I use and rely on Canto everyday to assist in my work and provide support to our internal clients on a whole range of projects. The creative stored is implemented in our marketing campaigns, brand campaigns, email drip campaigns, and general marketing of programs.

I haven't had many issues using Canto, but when needed the customer service team is accessible and quick to respond. I appreciate having a team to trouble shoot when needed.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I honestly have not had any issues with Canto. And, if I did, I know my contact will take care of it quickly.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having all of our creative assets under one umbrella is a huge benefit and a time saver when working on tight deadlines.

 ### 12. Trusting Canto with our Photos!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Using Canto to house, categorize, and organize our huge photo library is just the start... as a designer, what I like best about Canto is the ability to use "Canto Connect" in my Adobe products. I can seamlessly take images directly from my Canto window in Adobe Illustrator and Indesign and place (and link) them. It's amazing. It's intuitive and easy. I use it almost daily. Implementing additions to our database is also easy and seamless.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There has only been one instance I've had difficulty and that was signing onto the Canto Connector. But that was in the very beginning and it was probably more to do with our companies credentials and my email address. But the great thing about it was that my lead was able to get in touch with our Canto rep and resolve the situation almost immediately. I was very impressed with the Customer Service and quick care.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is helping to organize our thousands of images, logos, icons, etc. We have so many and Canto makes it easy to find and connect those things with our designs.

 ### 13. Great resource

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I own a franchise and our brand makes marketing assets available to us through Canto. It's organized and easy to find things. Once I have found what I need, it's also easy to share them with the people who need them.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I haven't found anything I dislike about using the product.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto makes it easy for me to access brand assests and use them for marketing. The organizational scheme minimizes the time I spend looking for specific items.

 ### 14. Up and running with great efficiency!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Our implementaion trainer, Sophie is excellent and the Canto interface is very user friendly, logical and efficient. Features of the DAM are excellent and easy to understand.Organization and accessability of our digital assets is excellent and the AI visual search feature is exceptional

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It's a considerable time commitment to get things organized and setup, but well worth the time investment.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time management in searching for appropriate images with staff and affiliates located across the U.S.

Portals are a powerful tool for distribution of digital assets and information for specific projects team members involved across the country, giving them convenient access to the tools they need.

Upload Links simplify the gathering of photos/videos from photographers/videographers from locations across the country.

Share Links provide a simple and effective solution to distribution of assets.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> We're happy to hear that Sophie and Canto’s ease of use have made your onboarding experience smooth and effective! Getting everything set up can definitely take time, but we're thrilled it's paying off. If you ever have questions or feedback, feel free to reach out to your account manager or contact us at customerfeedback@canto.com. Cheers, Reagan

 ### 15. Transformative DAM Experience That Elevated Our Enterprise Approach

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angela D. | Digital Asset Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Our DAM platform has completely changed the way we think about asset management—as a strategic enterprise tool, not just a storage system. Search is lightning-fast, and having such a proactive, knowledgeable Customer Success Manager has made all the difference. We recently added the AI Visual Search feature which has greatly enhanced our creative department's search capabilities and workflow.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

We’d love to see more robust reporting features, especially the ability to build custom reports, to take things even further.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our DAM has solved major business challenges—providing a single source of truth, eliminating version confusion, and improving brand consistency. It’s made sharing assets with clients seamless and has enhanced collaboration.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Not much to dislike! Canto has been a great product for our organization.

Organizing content using meta tagging, which has made finding content so much easier for us. This has been a major issue in the past, but with Canto, it's as simple as describing what you want and it pops up!

 ### 17. Intuitive and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Curt B. | Director Digital Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Ease of organizing images and other digital assets
Ease of sharing information internally and externally
Ease of finding what you're looking for

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

You need to put some serious thought into how you want YOUR organization to work and spend the time to sort and tag existing items into a new structure. So a bit of a lift up front.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How to store and share digital assets within the organziation and without.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi Curt, we appreciate your thoughtful review! It’s great to hear that you find Canto intuitive and easy to use, especially when it comes to organizing and sharing assets.

 ### 18. Canto is a GAME CHANGER

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** madeline p. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Holy smokes!! We love Canto! It's basically like having Google images for your photos/assets. It is easy to search and tag images. Looking for a photo with a lot of white space for a website? Not a problem! You no longer have to scroll through thousands of images looking for a photo with white space because you've tagged your images and you can easily pull it up with search. So easy and saves so much time. The facial recognition feature is HUGE. Does it take you hours to search through photos to find the one you are looking for of a specific person? Not anymore! You can search for it, and voi la! You've got your mits on it! The Adobe integration is fantastic. You don't have to download each image and then insert, they are all right in a library in the Adobe App (and guess what?! you still have all of the same great search features so you don't have to spend hours scrolling).
If you are a brand, you NEED Canto! It will save you so much time, you will thank me later, and it is worth every penny!
There are a lot of DAMs out there, I met and spoke with all of them. Canto is no questions asked the best. It is fantastic!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It is cumbersome to learn. There are a lot of features. Maybe too many features that it seems a bit overwhelming sometimes. They do have a FANTASTIC team that does a multi-week on-boarding with you. And their customer service is great if you have questions down the road.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves us so much time by having our images in an easy to search format. Honestly, if you ever have clients that are on the fence about Canto, I am more than happy to pop on a call to talk about it. We love Canto!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Beth A. I. | Senior Manager Corporate Communications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is an excellent digital asset management (DAM) platform. This is our first DAM, so shifting our processes, developing best practices, and training was a significant lift at the start. Our implementation manager at Canto, Meghan, was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and patient as we moved through the setup and training. She took the time to answer questions, offer resources, and got answers when we had unique requests.

The platform itself is easy to use, straightforward, and offers a lot of customization for us. Canto also provides a plug-in to InDesign (Canto Connect), which was a key factor in deciding to go with Canto. While we considered other DAM options, Canto had the most approachable way to integrate images from the DAM to projects and maintain the integrity of the files and the security of copyright agreements.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There are some limitations in the backend file structure or metadata when loading to the system, however, the Canto team is nimble and R&D listens to customer comments and works on improvements. Otherwise, no major issues at this point.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto provides greater security with copyrights, maintaining file integrity, and transparency surrounding file ownership and use. Canto also makes searching for images across our many offices and services easy with metadata and AI search capabilities. Facial recognition is incredible and it's only going to improve over time. Canto offers us a better way to find the right images for our projects more efficiently and accurately.

 ### 25. Prioritizing Payment Over Customer Support: A Frustrating and Disappointing Experience

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam B. | Senior Staff, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The initial sales demo and calls were informative, providing clear answers to our questions.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

As an organization, we made the decision to purchase this subscription under very specific terms, including a delayed implementation start date of January 2024. However, we were pressured by the sales team to sign the agreement before the end of November 2023 due to pricing constraints that would not extend into December.

Despite our clear timeline, an unexpected staff transition in December left us unable to begin implementation as planned. We reached out that same month to request a deferment, knowing that we would not be able to proceed for the first eight months of 2024. That request was ignored until we followed up again in January, at which point we were informed that no adjustments could be made due to the signed contract. Additionally, the original sales representative had left the company, leaving us with no point of contact who had been involved in our initial discussions. This response made it clear that our business was not valued and that there was little regard for building a trusted relationship with us as a new customer.

Despite numerous emails throughout the year, we finally met with an account representative on December 13, who assured us they would explore potential solutions. However, despite multiple prior outreach attempts—starting with an initial email in September—there was no follow-up after that meeting. The only communication we received was an invoice for payment. Even after reiterating that we were still awaiting a resolution, the only response came from the accounts payable department.

Now, after eight weeks of silence, we have finally received a follow-up, only to be offered a mere six-month extension—despite having already paid for an entire year of service that we have been unable to use and demanding another year of payment with no clear path of onboarding or implementation. This offer does not acknowledge the challenges we faced, the lack of communication, or the fact that we have been trying to resolve this issue for months.

We are extremely disappointed by this experience. The lack of responsiveness, inflexible policies, and disregard for customer needs reflect poorly on the company’s commitment to service and support. We had hoped to establish a productive, long-term relationship, but this experience has left us questioning whether this is a company that truly prioritizes its customers.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None at this time. We can't even onboard.

**Official Response from Julie Neumeister:**

> Hi Adam,

We’re sorry for the frustration this has caused and appreciate you sharing your experience. Our team has reached out directly to work on a solution, as we value your business and want to make this right. We know how important clear communication and support are, and we’re committed to improving. Please know we’re here to help and will work with you to find the best path forward.

Thank you,
Julie

 ### 26. UI UX experience has room for improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** EMILIO C. | Video Producer and DAM administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

It has great tools to search for assets, download and manage the galleries. The search tool is quite good.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The experience of uploading assets has issues. The suggestions for TAGS is too aggresive, and the suggestion should not take precedent, especially if it does not start with the same spelling as what was typed.
For example the tag FISH, and the suggestion is ICE FISHING, and we have to redo the process several times to ensure the correct tag is entered.
Pressing enter after adding a TAG, makes the cursor dissaperar and the user has to select the input bar again for every tag. Best practice is that Enter selects the tag and keeps the curson on the same dialogue box so a new TAG can be added.
The Chat bubble is very annoying, it covers the Download Button when the Download window is opened.
When I create a single download preset for a Portal, and no other alternatives existe, Do we really need to go through all the selection process? Can it go straight to download with the preset, just like it does when you download the original?

When sharing a URL to a folder from the main library, with a user who is only in a portal but has access to the same folder I'm sharing, it's a very convoluted process to go to the portal that that user has, and share that URL.
Is there a way to share a URL that will open that folder to all of those who have access? It becomes very tedious to go to different portals, select the URL and share each URL with the different users when working with users who are using different portals.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing assets with staff members, and external partners as well as media outlets

 ### 27. Very Intuitive - Lots of new features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bethany H. | Marketing Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like that it's very customizable with lots of eco-systems to help streamline and group work or departments to ensure everyone is getting access to the assets they need. The integration was so seamless and since the look and feel is similar to Google drive it was easy to implement and use. The customer support is very quick and helpful. Since switching to Canto we had an increase in platform use and reduced the amount of assets that were lost in our 'asset graveyard'. I use this took in our marketing department every day!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I wish you could group assets together in the same sizes instead of having them upload as separate assets but the in-tool resize and crop feature is top notch!

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We create so much content across all departments that it can be difficult to disseminate information to everyone in a timely and easy to use way. Canto solves this problem because it allows us to manage asset use case, contracts and approvals in a timely fashion to ensure everyone who needs access to assets can get it without running into typical pitfalls that include assets with outdated products or expired talent contracts.

 ### 28. Efficient and user-friendly digital asset management platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto's interface is intuitive and visually clean, making it easy to search, organize, and tag digital files. The ability to create custom portals for sharing assets with internal and external stakeholders is incredibly useful. It helps ensure brand consistency and saves time by eliminating asset hunting.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The search functionality could be more flexible with fuzzy or partial keyword matches. Additionally, some upload processes can be slow for large file batches, and integrating Canto with certain third-party apps sometimes requires workarounds or extra support.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto helps us keep all our images, videos, and files in one place so we don’t waste time searching for them. It’s easy to find what we need, share with others, and stay organized. This saves time and helps our team work better together.

 ### 29. Quality and Effecient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liam Q. | Digital Co-Ordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Incredible amount of in-built features. And the fact they have developed a sturdy product (not sure if thats the right word). I've never had to go to customer support for an issue.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

there is not alot to dislike about Canto. One thing i would like to see, is the image size before you resize/crop.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Digital library that has a great search engine, share digital assets without going through external partners, ability to resize images for any spec.

 ### 30. Highly Customizable DAM, But Search Could Be Smarter

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is a good highly customizable DAM that isn't locked into a larger suite. It was pretty easy to set up and get integrated into our processes. Many team members use it daily with most using it weekly or monthly.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The search feature works but could be more predictive.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing long term asset archiving and associated meta data.

 ### 31. Effortless Company-Wide Adoption Makes Work Easier

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The ease of use corporate-wide is a huge benefit.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Extra costs for Hubspot integration. Adobe integration isn't as smooth.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is now our main asset library for our corporate staff to use/access. Instead of rummaging through our OneDrive folders, now they can go directly to that library and access what they need.

 ### 32. User-friendly digital asset platform that is customizable to meet vast organizational needs.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cole P. | Visual Communications Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

It's capacity to add users with different permissions, as well as share links quickly and broadly. The portals are also really great, and AI facial recognition. It's easy to use, and has great customer support if needed. We use it daily.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It does limit the amount of custom users I can add and manage permissions for.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Asset management, search ability, etc.

 ### 33. Team Consistency and Sharing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

As the graphic designer for my team I always want them to have the most up to date templates and graphics from me. Canto allows this to happen with ease. I can easily update files and my team can easily find what they need.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Some of the searching features don't work as fully as I need them to. It will go to one album with the keyword I searched, but there are multiple albums and folders with that keyword that I also need to look through.

I also try to narrow down the search to just Images or Graphics after searching a keyword, but then it erases the keyword..

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily keeping our brand graphics and templates up to date across the team. Ease of sharing photos with details for the whole team to use.

 ### 34. Canto image & asset management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alison W. | Graphic Designer III, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Our team uses Canto to store and organize our photos, branding, and internal image assets. Images in our library are tagged and categorized, and facial recognition is used to identify the people in our photos. This type of image organization has made it easier for colleagues to view, share, and search for photos and assets within our image collections.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It takes quite a bit of time to organize things, adding information to images, and making the assets information-rich. I have also gotten error messages when uploading images more than once.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Canto we had all of our images in several different locations; now, we can promote collaboration by keeping assets in a centrally managed system. We are staying connected with external audiences and donors by using the portals to share images and branded assets after receptions and award events. Canto benefits our organization by simplifying and making our ability to share image resources collaborative.

 ### 35. User Friendly, can do so much more than we need!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda M. | Digital Marketing & Communication Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Helpful implementation crew, lots of great tutorials/information. Recently they started having video series that you can attend or get in your inbox that help you better understand all the cool things Canto can do.
When speaking to an account rep, they were able to help solve a few problems and make my job easier.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

No downside other than the fact that I still have not used all the great bells and whistles that it offers! My only disappointment is that some OTHER companies charge for you to use Canto's integrations. (Hootsuite) Not Canto's fault, though!

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helped us organize all of our items, suggested ways to tag and label, it is also great for branding purposes. It is very easy to send links to other people for them to download, it is also easy for uploading - when we pay a photographer for photos, we ask them to directly upload to a link. It is SO Much easier to get marketing photos now, because the upload link work great for phones and computer uploads.

 ### 36. Glitchy but good organizational tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cali H. | Corporate Event Planning Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like the tagging feature and ability to share content out to clients without them having full access to our account and they can share with attendees that have been at an event.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There are certainly glitches and the system can be a bit slow and rudimentary. For example within an album trying to create a new section and having the images show up in a section below but the title not appearing after several reattempts to log in. Another issue is when faced is when using the mobile upload function it takes an extensive amount of time even if you are on a strong wifi network. Sometimes it crashes and you have to start over on the upload.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto's platform has created a space for our company to focus organizing all media across all our different events which has been very helpful.

**Official Response from Julie Neumeister:**

> Hi Cali! Thanks for your honest feedback! We're happy to hear that Canto is helping your team stay organized and easily share media. That said, we understand how frustrating glitches and slow uploads can be. We’re always working to improve performance and reliability, but if you ever need assistance or have specific issues you'd like us to look into, our team is happy to help. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience! -Julie

 ### 37. Easy Photo Search, But Learning Curve for Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Performing Arts | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The search engine makes it very easy to find photos.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Learning all of the different tools can be difficult at the start.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is giving our employees the ability to find content on their own and leads to wider range of and better assets used in marketing content.

 ### 38. Canto Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon S. | Digital Strategist, Political Organization, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Ability to store our media online and share it with other staff and external groups.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It's hard to download multiple files at a time and organizing folders/albums aren't the most intuitive.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us solve where to store all of our digital assets securely online rather than locally, and the ease of accessing these assets.

 ### 39. Easy to Use and Great for Keeping Our Team Organized

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave P. | Senior Web Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is super easy to use and makes it simple to keep all our photos, videos, and graphics in one place. The search and filter tools are really helpful, and I love how we can tag things and create Smart Albums to keep everything organized. The portals are a nice touch too—we can easily share assets with journalists without sending a bunch of emails.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Bulk editing metadata can be a bit clunky. Analytics are a bit basic.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing our assets into one place! Saving many hours searching different drives to locate an asset.

 ### 40. Effortless Organization with Powerful Tagging

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The tagging makes items easy to narrow and find

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I have yet to experience what I don't like.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool has made it much easier for our organization to access assets. It has also reduced the number of asset requests that the marcomm team receives.

 ### 41. Advanced DAM

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katy E. | Director of CX, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is easy to upload your assets into, share with your team, and organize your files. Their AI search is next level compared to other platforms we've looked into and we love the ability to customize sharable pages.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The folder structure can be a little confusing but you don't really need to use it post uploading.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We previously used google drive and google photos and it could take our team hours sometimes to find the assets they needed. Canto is able to save us a lot of time.

 ### 42. We are new clients - but our experience has been very positive.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave S. | Communications Manager, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

We are new clients - but our experience has been very positive. Canto team has done an excellent job of providing us with the tools and support to create our platform and set us up for success.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Some parts of the interface to personalize our page have been tricky to learn, but we have found support articles when needed or help from our representative to overcome all challenges to date.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy user interface and AI tools to help manage and reduce a heavy workload.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> It's great to hear your onboarding has been going smoothly! We appreciate your note about getting up to speed and we’re glad support resources and your implementation rep have been helpful along the way. If you ever need additional guidance, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for being part of the Canto community!

 ### 43. Wonderfully Robust and Customizable

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is a wonderfully robust digital asset management platform. I like that we can customize our style guides, asset structure, sharing capabilities, tracking capabilities, and so much more. The ability to search for items with keywords or by what's in the photo is amazing. I highly recommend Canto for those with many digital assets.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The setup can be overwhelming, thankfully there are a lot of training resources and onboarding help.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We get many requests for our logo and branding guide, we have the ability to share our style guide with whoever may need it very easily. They can grab the assets they need without a lot of back and forth. We can also host all of our digital collateral in an organized way.

 ### 44. We are glad we made the move to Canto

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Intuitive
Almost too many options - very robust
Easy adoption for end users and admins
Support team is very responsive and helpful

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Our implementation was challenging
We've had multiple reps/sources of contact

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storage of assets securly
Monitoring usage and licensing
Ability to share assets easily both internally and externally

 ### 45. Streamlines Multiple Tasks in One High-Quality System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Streamlining different tasks in one quality system.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Training my staff on using Canto. It’s not as mainstream as one would think.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating tasks

 ### 46. Users Love Easy Link Sharing, But Struggle with Search

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leah D. | Marketing Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I love the ease of sharing links with people! I like how I have select a personalized blend of files and create a link with ease that anyone can access.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The AI search tags can throw off how effective search is, and ultimately the thing I hear more from users is that the search doesn't work well when trying to locate specific files.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of sharing content with variety of people through links makes content easily shareable and digestible for various people.

 ### 47. Efficient asset management, but plugins and portals need improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like that I can quickly find and edit assets within Canto for my everyday web content. I also love its extensive tagging and category options. Customer support is often super helpful!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Integration into other apps via plugins is mediocre at best, and the portal function really needs some updates. The approval process is fine, but could be streamlined.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto helps me keep assets updated, following data protection rules and tracking asset use across the organisation.

 ### 48. Canto has streamlined our photo sharing so much!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Canto?**

It's so easy to share specific photos with people with links, and the integration into Canva has been really helpful as well.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Tagging photos can be tedious, and sometimes a tag is missed, or when someone is searching for a photo they are using a different keyword that what is listed. It would be great if Canto could recognize photo elements automatically and allow search through that.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of having my team have to sift through our photo library for a client, I can let them find what they need on their own. Canto also houses our logo library, which is great because we can send clients there instead of having to sort through hundreds of logos ourselves.

 ### 49. Canto

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kara B. | Product Marketing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The best thing about Canto is the ability to share large files. Our company previously had trouble sending and accessing large files to our sales team when they were traveling, so this has been great.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I wish there were other ways to organize the DAM other than by date added. It would be helpful to have a custom set up, more options (alphabetical, etc.), or be able to pin files to the top.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto has helped with sending files internally.

 ### 50. Great Upgrade from Traditional Content Management but Data Side Has a Lot of Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jan D. | Ecommerce Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The team has been very knowledgeable and the training series proves to help ease some of the implementation jitters our team has. There is a learning curve with moving from a regular hard drive on a server to Canto but we are excited to use Canto's other features.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I wish the PIM side is more robust and more customize-able. The set-up of products is a little more complicated than expected but nothing too hard is you're familiar with spreadsheets.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It takes on a huge chunk of a Catalog Manager's role in the company. It allows team members access to content they normally would have to ask someone to send them or get access to.
