### 3. Empowering Our Brand and Customers with Canto

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

What I like most about Canto is its ability to simplify and centralize how we manage and share digital assets. The permission-based structure gives us full control over who sees what, which is especially valuable when working with both our internal sales team and a wide range of customers. It’s easy to upload, organize, and distribute content, and the user-friendly interface means everyone—from staff to customers—can quickly find the assets they need. This level of accessibility and control has made a big impact on our efficiency and brand consistency.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

While our overall experience with Canto has been very positive, one area with room for improvement is the search functionality. At times, it can take some trial and error to find the exact asset you're looking for, especially if the tags or naming conventions aren’t consistent. Enhancements to search filters or more intuitive AI-driven suggestions would make the platform even more efficient. That said, with proper setup and organization, this challenge can be minimized.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is solving the challenge of organizing, managing, and distributing a large volume of digital assets across multiple audiences. Before Canto, it was time-consuming to fulfill individual requests for marketing materials or product images often requiring customized responses for each customer or sales team member.

Now, with Canto’s permission-based sharing and organized asset libraries, everyone can quickly access the most current, brand-approved content on their own. This has saved me countless hours previously spent tracking down files, reformatting assets, or responding to one-off requests. It allows me to focus more on strategic marketing efforts while giving our team and customers the tools they need to succeed, instantly. Canto not only increases efficiency but also ensures brand consistency and a better overall experience for everyone involved.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi there! Thank you for such a thoughtful and in-depth review. We’re thrilled to hear how Canto’s permission-based structure and user interface are making a big impact on your team’s efficiency and brand consistency. We appreciate your feedback on search functionality and have shared this with our product team to continue to improve the user experience. Cheers - Reagan

 ### 4. Overall a good digital asset management system, although the facial recognition can be a bit picky.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

It is easy to use and the features are clear and well-organized. There are many settings that you can change to customize things to your liking. Canto provides a great number of portal for sharing assets online. Customer service and support, when needed, has been timely and helpful. Overall, I would say that this is a solid digital asset management system.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I have a few issues with the facial recognition. Because we are using it in an archival setting, we upload a lot of older assets from our collections (late 1800s and early 1900s). The recognition does not work well on these photos. Also, if the initial recognition photo was not great, you'll find that you must contact customer service to have them remove this initial photo. I wish there was a way to fix this on my own without having to contact support.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can search across multiple types of assets in one go. It also allows for a good workflow between different departments (sharing assets).

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi there, thank you for this helpful and detailed review! We're so thrilled to hear how Canto is supporting your team across departments. We’ve shared your feedback on facial recognition with our product team as we continue to improve the platform. Thanks again! Reagan

 ### 5. Great features & usability

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julie G. | Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, Assistant Professor of Communication, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Our small university was looking for an affordable but flexible tool for digital asset management. Canto checked all the boxes—facial recognition, organization, usability, customer support and more. The implementation process was super easy, and I loved that we had a dedicated implementation person and now a dedicated account manager. The SSO integration makes it easy for us to customize access across campus and we now spend way less time downloading and sending photos to people across the university. We are also now getting way more photos submitted from students and faculty when they travel for conferences, competitions or mission trips.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

One downside is that I wish you didn't have to be a super user to do have full uploading capability. We have a number of student photographers and it was not financially feasible to make each of them a super user. However, the flexibility of Canto provided us a work around by hiring a "photo manager" with super user status that creates upload links for photography assignments and gives those to the photographer.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a very old non-server based DAM system that didn't take advantage of all the new AI powered features. Canto's features save us time we previously spent tagging photos and now we can also identify every student in a photo.

 ### 6. Portal Highlights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ghia Joy M. | Project Coordinator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto's portal functionality significantly enhances asset management by providing a centralized, organized repository. This eliminates the need for users to navigate complex library structures, which can often be confusing. The ability to create campaign-specific albums within the portal substantially streamlines the Browse process, leading to increased efficiency and reduced asset retrieval time.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Accessing assets within the Canto portal currently involves a redirection to the main library, which can be inefficient and add extra steps to the workflow. This process is often time-consuming, particularly for users who frequently need to open and interact with assets directly from the portal.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto effectively addresses our digital asset management needs by providing robust organizational capabilities. We particularly value its comprehensive asset tracking features and the ability to manage access restrictions for different user groups, which enhances security without impeding collaborative workflows. The seamless integration with Adobe applications is a significant advantage, empowering artists to efficiently view, download, and edit assets without the need to repeatedly download individual layers.

 ### 7. Big step up!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melanie W. | Videographer/Photographer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is our first DAM for our community college. We previously used Flickr and Google Drive as our asset libraries.

We had lengthy onboarding training which was appreciated. And as I was setting up our library, I appreciated the support team and their quick responses.

We have made heavy use of the custom metadata fields to allow us to filter down assets when looking for something in particular. While it is time intensive to tag the assets from over the last decade as we put them into the library, the payoff is when we are searching the assets.

There is an AI search available that uses natural language to search your assets, but that is an additional cost and we have not enabled this feature at this time.

There is an SSO option as well that is also an additional cost that we have chosen to not use at this time.

We use the public portal option to share photos with our community and appreciate that the assets are not searchable on the internet, but accessible by anyone with the link to the portal. We also utilize a private portal where we have allowed an outside agency to create accounts as consumer (free) users and give them access to additional assets than what we have in our public portal.

We have also utilized the Style Guide feature to share with our community members, which was previously a PDF. We added in links to templates in Canto and can update the guide easily.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The additional costs for features like SSO and AI search are a downside.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Canto asset library allows us to store all of our assets in one place and make them searchable with tags, metadata and caption files. Previously we used Flickr, Google Drive and a shared drive to store and find assets, which was getting difficult to manage. Videos were not tagged and new employees didn't know what we had other than by looking at a file name and watching through the entire video clip. Canto has helped us save time when developing ads by cutting down on our time spent searching and reviewing assets.

 ### 8. Canto Has Elevated Our Design and Asset Management to New Heights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah L. | Marketing Manager, Strategy & Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

We’ve been incredibly impressed with Canto since I first discovered it at the ATL Digital Summit last year. It’s taken our design and storage capabilities to the next level and made it possible to standardize marketing materials across all our affiliates.

The transition was smooth, thanks to a highly supportive rep. The AI-powered search is a huge time-saver, and our graphic designer finally has the flexibility to organize assets in a way that works for her. Overall, Canto is helping us strengthen and streamline our marketing efforts. Highly recommend!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I'm not quite sure what to write here. Sorry!

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto has solved a major challenge for us: having a single, centralized location for all our marketing assets that’s also accessible to each of our affiliates. Before, we were constantly sending links and re-sharing files. Now, each affiliate can directly access what they need—without compromising how we organize or control those assets. The platform lets us keep everything in one place while still segmenting content in a way that makes sense for our team and theirs. It’s streamlined our workflow and significantly improved consistency across the board.

 ### 9. Canto's a Life-Saver for Designers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robin M. | Associate Creative Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Canto?**

We'd be totally lost without Canto. We utilize Canto for storing all of our completed artwork, our assets, and also our training documents. It's our "go-to" for everything we do, other than our design software. Of course, Canto is something we use daily! We're currently training and re-training our teams to be able to use the CMS to be able to share everything with their clients, as well as using the file sharing feature to share files that otherwise would be too large to send via email. The portals are a real plus as well. We now have several client-facing portals where they download the completed art files for their use. We're able to share our internal files with the sales representatives to in turn share with their customers. The customer support is the best as well. I've gotten stuck late on a Friday evening when everyone else was out of the office. Canto's support was right there with me, and saved me from a huge mess!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I've never shared anything I dislike about Canto, but I have to say I've found something! I'd like to share in hopes of improving this feature. Just recently, we were informed of an update in Canto's search feature due to an acquisition. The team was looking forward to an update since our designers as well as the marketing team searches a majority of the day for files on Canto. We were told it was an "amazing" update. Well, I'm quite disappointed in the update, as it seems much worse than the previous search feature. I've heard the same from several team members as well, and these are designers who are fluent with online platforms. I even submitted a help ticket to Canto one day and I was told how to use it, and how to filter things. Well, needless to say, I'm still having a lot of trouble. The search feature is slowing down my work on a daily basis.

**Recommendations to others considering Canto:**

Canto is easy-to-use, affordable software which provides everything your organization needs for digital asset management. Their customer support is the best, which is a massive plus with a large remote workforce.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Canto software to store our final artwork and internal files, such as brand guidelines, images, logos, etc. It's a necessity to have everyone access all of this online instead of a local server, so anyone anywhere can access the files. We're able to quickly set up client portals for our clients to access, view or download their final art files with ease. Without a CMS like Canto we'd be lost a dozen or more times due to different designers working on the same projects, or having sync issues with Sharepoint. Canto has solved most all of our problems since we stopped using internal servers. Anyone with an internet connection can access any files with ease. We're no longer tied to outdated servers with outdated equipment. We're able to simply log in online to access everything we need. Canto has solved so many issues for us and our clients instead of using an internal server!

**Official Response from Kelli Miller:**

> Our support team works so hard to provide positive experiences for customers. We appreciate your review!

 ### 10. A great and simple tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Skyler B. | Photographer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto has been incredibly helpful in sharing our photography assets across the university. Duke has been fantastic in guiding us through all the platform’s features, answering our questions, and ensuring a smooth transition. The recent addition of AI search, along with the integration of metadata into search results, has significantly streamlined the process, making it align more seamlessly with our traditional photography workflow.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

One aspect of Canto that I wish could be improved is the ability to require users to log in to their Canto account in order to view shared links. This would be especially useful when sharing links with a large group, but still wanting to restrict access so that only authorized users can view the content, not just anyone with the link.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto has streamlined the process of sharing assets by eliminating the need to send links after every event or constantly update access for university members. This allows me to focus more on capturing photos, rather than managing access to content.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Thanks for the kind words! We're so glad to hear that Canto is supporting your photography workflows and that Duke has been a valuable partner throughout your transition. We’ll pass the feedback along!

We appreciate your note about shared link access controls and will pass it along to our product team. We know secure sharing is important, and your feedback helps us continue to refine the platform. Cheers, Reagan

 ### 11. Endless Possibilities with PIM + DAM, But Video Playback Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The possibilities and use cases are endless, especially when you pair the PIM + DAM. from sales enablement to graphic designer support, Canto and their portals steal the show.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

That we can not watch videos from the product hub/SKU. Id like to be able to stay on a product page to watch videos about it.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer need 75 spreadsheets to wrangle product info. i dont have to sift through thousands of images (and their versions) to find the image a designer needs. I can create a central source of truth for data and assets that is easy to maintain, update, and share with relevant parties.

 ### 12. Streamlined Asset Management for Visual Content Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda M. | Business Development Strategist and Metadata Librarian, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto offers a clean, intuitive interface that makes organizing and retrieving digital assets incredibly efficient. Its smart album and tagging system allow for consistent metadata use across teams, and the search functionality is powerful—especially when combined with custom filters and keyword tagging. The ability to create portals and share branded collections with external clients or stakeholders is also a huge asset, making Canto a versatile tool not just for internal organization but for client-facing work as well. Version control and usage tracking help maintain integrity across projects, which is crucial for a design-focused studio like ours.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

While Canto’s core features are strong, there are occasional limitations around batch metadata editing and bulk tagging—especially when assets span multiple albums. Customizing the user interface beyond basic branding options can also be restrictive. Additionally, the reporting features could be more robust; it would be helpful to have better analytics on asset usage and user engagement to inform content strategy. Lastly, syncing with other platforms (like ClickUp, HubSpot or Google Drive) is functional but not always seamless, requiring manual oversight or third-party integrations.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Canto as our primary digital asset management system to organize, archive, and retrieve thousands of scientific illustrations, animations, and visual design files. It serves as a centralized hub for our creative team, clients, and collaborators. We rely heavily on Canto to tag and categorize assets by scientific theme (e.g., cell type, molecular pathway, disease area), maintain version control across projects, and create shareable portals for client review and asset delivery.

Canto is solving several key challenges for us:

Scattered assets: Before Canto, our assets were siloed across multiple platforms. Now everything is centralized, searchable, and backed by a consistent metadata structure.

Version control confusion: Canto’s upload and replacement features help us keep the latest versions accessible while preserving past iterations.

Client delivery inefficiencies: With branded portals, we can now securely share collections with clients, allowing them to view, comment on, and download assets easily—no more long email threads or clunky file transfers.

Internal workflow clarity: The system helps us track usage rights, assign labels based on scientific themes, and guide team members through a structured tagging taxonomy.

Overall, Canto saves us hours of time, ensures consistency across client work, and provides peace of mind knowing our visual assets are well-organized and accessible.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We’re happy to hear that Canto’s intuitive interface, smart albums, and client-sharing tools are helping your team work more efficiently and collaboratively. Your outline of the business impact really shows the value Canto brings, and we appreciate you taking the time to highlight it.

We also hear you on areas like batch metadata, reporting, and integrations. Feedback like yours helps us keep improving. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

 ### 13. Great platform for storing and organizing our sizable photo library

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gina G. | Art Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Being able to quickly search for what I need by using the search and filter functionality. I love that all our photos are organized and categorized for what makes sense for our institution. I also love the InDesign integration! Makes desiging pieces so much easier to be able to search within the design platform!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It can be slow to load. We have also had issues with syncing our large folders from Box into Canto.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having all of the photos available to everyone on campus so they can search and find what they need without reaching out to us. Saves us time and gives them the benefit of ownership and flexibility.

 ### 14. Great DAM that scales with your team!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jen P. | Marketing Manager Strategic Accounts, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto has transformed how our marketing team manages, shares, and organizes digital assets. As a growing organization with multiple campaigns and contributors, we needed a solution that could handle a wide volume of images, videos, and branded content—Canto delivered exactly that.

The interface is clean and intuitive, making it easy for both tech-savvy users and less technical teammates to navigate. Uploading, tagging, and categorizing assets is quick and efficient, and the powerful search functionality helps us locate what we need in seconds. I especially appreciate the version control and permissions features, which reduce errors and keep our assets consistent across channels.

Canto also makes it simple to share content externally with customizable portals, which is a huge time-saver when working with partners, press, or other departments. Integration with tools like Adobe Creative Cloud and Slack has made our workflow more seamless and collaborative.

Support is responsive and helpful whenever we’ve had questions or needed onboarding help, and ongoing updates continue to improve the platform.

If your team is drowning in a mess of scattered assets or struggling with outdated file servers, Canto is absolutely worth the investment.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The mobile experience with Canto can be clunky when in the field. It does not mirror the desktop experience. This would not deter me from recommending Canto for DAM, but it is notable. Additionally, the initial setup takes a bit of planning to structure your folders properly.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Canto for interal DAM, external sharing with clients, and project information management. Searching is fast and filtering helps with our robust image library. The sharing and user permissions are helpful both internally, and externally with clients. We appreciate the integrations and easy-to-use interface.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi Jen, thanks so much for the kind words! We're thrilled to hear how Canto is helping your team scale, streamline workflows, and that our support team has been there for you throughout onboarding. We appreciate your feedback regarding the mobile app experience and will share that information with our product team.

We really appreciate your thoughtful review and your continued support of Canto! - Reagan

 ### 15. A great way to story your company's digital assets

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Executive Office | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like the ease of use best. The simpler the better, and I'm glad our company decided on a way to hold and share our digital assets.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I have not seen where/how I can decide how I would like to download the assets. Also, I'm guessing our company just signed up and went with it because there is no metadata that allows for fast search for items. And our filing system needs help. So this issue is either on us or our team was not properly trained.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A one stop storage place for our digital assets. As the EA to the CEO I need to be able to put my hands on those things quickly.

 ### 16. Effortless Image Sharing, Organizes with Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna M.

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like using Canto for sharing images because it makes it easy to send high-res files. It's also very simple to organize and create collections, which keeps things organized and easy to manage. The initial setup was simple, and I would definitely recommend it to others.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Nothing

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canto for sharing images. It makes it easy to send high-res files, organize, and create collections, keeping things simple and easy to manage.

 ### 17. Very Robust Platform with Many Applicatons

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivan G. | Marketing Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Portals is a great feature - easy to manage users and content.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Smart tags could be improved. Maybe there's a way to feed the AI with references, instructions and guidelines up front to improve functionality. With our products smart tags have been mostly a miss, it's be nice to automate tagging fully vs manual input.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Centralizing and standardizing access to all approved documents and assets. AS our business has not be fully integrated, this is key. Before Canto, documents and assets were scattered across multiple Sharepoint sites and hard drives. 2. Process optimization - approving, releasing and updating content, with stakeholders across various teams. Version control is also important here. 3. Portals for various types of users/consumers, both internal and external.

 ### 18. Great Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wayne C. | Digital Marketing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto has allowed us to service our clients far better than before. We have lot of retail clients and every one of them has different specifications for the imagery. In the past, with some clients, I'd have to create custom version of specific product photos. Now, they can get what they want, when they want it and whatever size they need.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Sometimes, I'd like to show the same images in different folders without having to have mulitple copies of the same image uploaded at the same time. I have clients that want to look for images sorted by seasons without having to use the search function so they can easily download everything for that season. Then I have some clients that want to just download, let's say, pants only. Instead of searching for pants, they want to click on a folder and download the full assortment. The search feature is awesome but a lot of folks would rather just use the old methods of clicking on folders.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto has taken a lot of the burden of clients asking for small amounts of images and having to wait, possibly the next day, before they get a response. With Canto, our clients can go search for anything they want and download it within moments.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi Wayne, thanks for sharing your experience! We are glad to hear Canto is helping you meet diverse client needs quickly and efficiently. We also appreciate your feedback about folder organization. Just a quick tip, you can assign the same image to multiple albums without having to re-upload it. Your account manager is always happy to help if you need any guidance! Cheers, Reagan

 ### 19. Intuitive and powerful asset management system

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio D. | Multimedia Design Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Our university hosts thousands of photos dating back to a decade and CANTO is powerful enough to host and manage all those images. It's intuitive to use: for uploading, downloading (and for clients not registered for the system it's so easy to send a link exclusively for just that album of photos and not the whole library), the ability to download in compressed and resized files, and creation of albums (snap) so easy for organization. The one stand out feature is the facial recognition: we upload one photo and tag that photo with facial recognition and it becomes so much easier to search now.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The ability to go back to search results after looking at an individual photo. One of the things we have to do is redo a search for the same desired results because after you've looked at an individual photo and downloaded it, you can't use the back button on your browser to go back to your search results. You have to do the search all over again.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to house and manage thousands of images we use for our Marketing and Communication purposes. And how easy it is to organize and find the photos needed with intuitive controls that even the least technically savvy user n our university can find it easy to sue.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi Antonio, we're so glad to hear that Canto’s intuitive tools and features like facial recognition are helping your team manage and organize your photo library with ease. If you’re looking to streamline repeat searches, Saved Searches might be an option to explore. To learn more about those, check out our Support Center! Thanks again for sharing your experience! - Reagan.

 ### 20. Love Canto - great for enabling our sales org with materials

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber D. | VP, Marketing , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

We’ve been using Canto for sales enablement, and honestly, it’s been a total game-changer for our team. Managing and sharing content used to be a bit chaotic, but now everything’s organized and easy to find. Whether we’re in a meeting or on a call with a customer, we can pull up the right sales materials in seconds—thanks to Canto’s smart search and simple layout.

One of our favorite features is the Portals. They let us build custom collections of marketing assets that are always current and perfectly on-brand, so our sales team isn’t wasting time digging through folders or second-guessing if a file’s outdated.

Since switching to Canto, we’ve cut way down on the time spent hunting for the right content. That means more time for real conversations with clients—and more closed deals. For us, it’s become an essential part of staying efficient, professional, and consistent across the board.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

We love using Canto, but we do wish the PDF editing tools were a bit more robust. Being able to make quick markups or minor changes directly in the platform would save our team time and streamline our workflows. It’s a great system overall—this added functionality would just take it to the next level.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto helps us solve the problem of scattered sales materials by giving our team one central place to find the most current, on-brand assets. Instead of wasting time digging through folders or double-checking version control, our reps can quickly grab what they need—even in the middle of a client call. It’s made our sales process more efficient, more consistent, and a whole lot less stressful.

 ### 21. A neat and helpful software!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer S. | Data & Systems Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like Canto because it is a neat software that allows for organized storage of photos. It is easy to use and keep all your photos and videos stored for anyone in your organization to use. It is a level up from a simple drive or folder database because it allows you to tag your photos and make it easier to nail down the perfect one for your needs. No longer are we spending time scrolling through photos for the perfect marketing needs.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Sometimes it is challenging to download smaller photo sizes. I wanted to create a preset for our employees but it seemed to not work how I wanted it to.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No longer are we using simple dropbox folders to house our photos. We can now categorize and sort our photos based on the criteria that makes sense for our organization. Being a clean water organization, we are constant using the keywords "clean water," "dirty water," "smile," "children."

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi Jennifer, this is very valuable feedback, thank you! It is great to hear that tagging and structured storage have helped cut down on the time spent digging through folders to find the right asset. Regarding download presets, your dedicated account manager would be happy to consult with you on how to set them up to best suit your team’s needs. Thanks again, Reagan.

 ### 22. Amazing Digital Storage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wendy S. | Communications Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

For my business, I need to be able to connect releases to pictures and their expiration dates. With Canto, I can easily connect releases to images. I receive notice when an image or release expires so that I can renew the release if necessary. Canto has made my work SO much easier.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

My biggest complaint is that there is no app for Android phones. Half of my colleagues use iPhones, and the other half use Androids. Putting an app on all employee phones would make photo sharing so much easier.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves my storage issue and my ease of finding images. With the facial recognition it is super easy to find what I am looking for.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi Wendy, we’re so glad to hear that Canto has made your work easier, especially when it comes to managing releases and expiration dates. Thanks for flagging the need for an Android app! We understand how valuable that would be for teams like yours and will pass your request along to our product team. Thanks again! Reagan

 ### 23. Canto is the Best We've Had!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is our go-to webdam! We depend on it to store final files, allow downloads for printing, web, sharing with clients, and most everything. Pre-Canto we used an outdated server which was not easy to access, messy and post-COVID it would have been practically impossible to access working remotely. We're quite pleased with Canto.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The thing I really, really dislike about Canto is the search feature. I know we've been shown and told to use the "filters" for searching. It just does not work for me! I will enable the filters (when available), check all the boxes and run my search. Nothing. I have to get very creative with my search terms and just take twice or three times longer than I should to locate a particular file. Canto used to have a good search feature, so I'm not sure why it was even changed. Sometimes we change things for the better, when it may have been better being left alone.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto solves the file access issue as well as accessing files remotely from anywhere. If we were not able to access files, we would not have a job is how it benefits us! I've never heard of any issues with the amount of file storage, but there has to be one I'm sure. For as long as we've used it, and added files, we apparently have a ton of storage space! We're currently trying to organize our Canto files to make our daily work a bit easier, such as locating files faster, etc.

**Official Response from Julie Neumeister:**

> Hi there — thanks for sharing your experience! It’s great to hear that Canto has made remote work and file access so much easier for you. We know how frustrating it can be when search doesn’t work as expected, and we’d love to help. Feel free to reach out to customerfeedback@canto.com, and we’ll connect you with your account manager. We appreciate you being part of the Canto community!

 ### 24. Solid DAM System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is great at being exactly what it wants to be - a DAM system. So many solutions out there are trying to be everything to everyone - but Canto stays in its lane. It's easy to use, easy to set up, and the pricing is reasonable for lots of end users, and a solid handful of Admins.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

While it's easy to use...I find that if I haven't been in the system for a few weeks, I forget how to do certain things. We've only been on the system for a few months now - so I'm guessing this is more due to being somewhat new to using the tool.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were managing all of our images on a Shared drive. It was very difficult to search. And required our employees to email their event images to our email box (which constantly filled up our email server space). Now our employees can directly load their pictures to Canto - and the pictures can be accessed by our marketing agency, and other third-party freelancers.

 ### 25. Concise Organization and Robust Permission Controls

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like the ability to organize everything concisely, and to be able to seamlessly toggle permissions

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There is definitely a learning curve and can be hard to explain to others -- easier to do it myself at the end of the day

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto helps us immensely provide portals and items for our varying partners

 ### 26. Intuitive Folder Structure, Easy Onboarding, and Excellent Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Textiles | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Folder structure intact and very intuitive. Easy learning curve for onboarding. Customer support has been excellent.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

i'm unsure about the new library look but it's early days in their development so still very optimistic

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A more cohesive DAM with more functionality and integrations straight out of the box

 ### 27. Effortless Photo Organization with Intuitive UI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** eleanor b.

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I use Canto for work, primarily for photo organization. I like the user interface, which is clear and concise. I don't have any suggestions for improvement, so it works well for me.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

N/a

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canto for photo organization. The user interface is clear and concise.

 ### 28. Smooth Transition from Previous PIM System

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Business Supplies and Equipment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Relatively seamless transition from last PIM system; we appreciate that the majority of our content was migrated over with little to no change. We like the filter and tagging system, as well as the "date uploaded" and "uploaded by" indicators to maintain records of accountability.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The main UI is a little difficult to navigate and is densely packed; would like to see some updates to the image management section in terms of overall organization.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Serves as a central hub and reference for all of our product content. This helps us stay organized and consistent as a small business.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi there, we love hearing that Canto is serving as an effective hub for your product content and that the transition went so smoothly.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the user experience. We’re actively making improvements to the Main Library and now offer an updated option you can explore. If you try it out, we’d love to hear your feedback through the in-app Resource Center. Cheers, Reagan

 ### 29. Streamlining the Past and Future of Our Photo Archive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto has been an essential part of our photo archive workflow for over 25 years, helping us manage our historic collection with ease. It saves us time, keeps things running smoothly, and ensures our visuals stay consistent across the board.

Setting up online portals and upload links for special projects was fast and easy. The move to their cloud platform was seamless, and the training was clear and straightforward—making the transition a breeze.

Now that we’re on the cloud, our team can access and collaborate from anywhere, which makes producing a high-quality newspaper every day even more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

More user role levels in the access structure

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Canto as the central hub for managing our extensive photo archive, which spans over a century of Hawaii’s history. It helps our editorial team quickly find, organize, and use images for daily publication. From preserving historic visuals to supporting real-time content creation, Canto plays a vital role in keeping our newsroom efficient and visually consistent.

 ### 30. Great Platform with an amazing support team!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennie C. | Creative Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I really enjoy how easy it is to use, how responsive the support team is, all of the integrations with the other apps we use, and the ability to have multiple customized portals. We are also very excited about the introduction of the PIM system.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I wish that there was a way to save updated files directly back to the DAM without having to reuplod them and put all of the keywords and tags back in.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is giving us one location to have all of our files available to our team members as well as outside distributors and sales reps.

 ### 31. Seamless and User-Friendly: Canto is a Game-Changer for Marketers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Cosmetics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I’ve been using Canto for quite some time now, and I can confidently say it’s one of the most helpful and reliable tools I’ve used in marketing. The platform is incredibly user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy to organize, find, and share digital assets quickly. Since I started using Canto, I haven’t encountered any issues. Everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

So far, I don't have ay issues using Canto. I am satisfied.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto solves several key problems in managing digital assets, and it’s made a big difference in my day-to-day work.

Before using Canto, it was time-consuming to search for the right files across different folders or drives. Now, everything is centralized, searchable, and well-organized, which saves me and my team a lot of time. The ability to tag, categorize, and preview assets quickly is a huge plus — no more guessing which version is the latest or digging through emails to find what we need.

Canto also solves collaboration issues. Instead of constantly requesting files or double-checking usage rights, our team can easily access what they need, when they need it. This streamlines our content creation and campaign execution.

Overall, Canto reduces clutter, improves consistency, and helps ensure that our brand assets are used correctly and efficiently. It's made our marketing and creative process more agile and stress-free.

 ### 32. Details matter - you get out what you put in, plus more!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen M. | Director of Creative and Marketing Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

End-user interface can be customized for our branded experience. We are having fun creating portals for our various campaigns and audiences.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Details matter during integration! I've watched and rewatched the many wonderful helper videos to best convert our many-layered file structure into this new format. It's been time-consuming, but fruitful.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is providing remote access to my assets which were previously available only on my local drive. Also, Canto is bringing these assets forward so that my team and my larger organization can access and utilize as needed. Our assets are also now being backed up regularly, so I'm feeling much more confident about my archive.

 ### 34. Budget-Friendly DAM with Smooth Adobe Integration

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Out of all the other DAM program, Canto's within our budget and offers integration with Adobe products

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Maybe the way it needs to load? I wish it was page by page

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a DAM program because our old one wasn't working anymore

 ### 35. Centralized Creative Management, But UI Can Be Overwhelming

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos F. | Performance Specialist, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The fact that my creatives are centralised in a way that I can easily find them as well as share them with my team and my affiliate partners.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The UI can be overwhelming at times. the Library tab could be a bit more well organized.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ease of sharing it with multiple parties and be aware of my asset's activity.

 ### 36. Easy to Navigate with Simple Access to Multiple Products

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I didn't find anything about the product that I disliked.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I provided a solution to present educational material to multiple clients at the same time.

 ### 37. Time Saver & organization solutions for all

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haley D. | Director of Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto has saved time in finding resources that we can use for marketing materials. I can also save time by using upload links and portals to decrease time going back and forth with employees wanting to download photos and vendors we want to share content with. Along with that, being able to save 1 file in multiple locations and tag it in various ways makes it easy for it to be found no matter how 1 user searches for it.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I wish there were a way to bulk-assign photo recognition names and easier workflows/automation for access/tag assignments/approvals. I also wish I could integrate Canto with other tools or have it loop a slideshow on a permalink that auto selects a certain batch of filtered materials.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making it easier to find and ensure reps are using the right resources

 ### 38. Easy Access and Fast Downloads, Though Multiple Tabs Needed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John B. | Owner/Group Fitness Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Simple to find the pieces I need for each program we offer and quick downloads of the items.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The opening of several tabs to get to each piece but I understand that is how it must work.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping to get marketing and management materials quickly & easily. Simple to find items for each individual program.

 ### 39. User-Friendly with Excellent Support, But User Limits Can Be Restrictive

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is user friendly and they offer excellent support. Canto offers many features to help organize our companies digital assets.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

One drawback of Canto is that it operates as a pick-and-choose package, which comes with a restriction on the number of users.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are currently using Canto to manage our digital assets for PDP, licensing, and brand purposes. It also allows us to store videos, providing a single source of truth for all our assets. This setup enables us to make updates in one central location, ensuring consistency across our materials.

 ### 40. Easy to Use, Great Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rebecca A. | Digital Marketing & Trend Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto is very intuitive and easy to use, the onboarding process was smooth, and it's a great way to store our assets and share them easily.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I wish there were more ways to organize files inside albums other than by date added.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having assets that meet multiple criteria, it's nice to be able to upload the file one time on Canto but have multiple tags on it so you could find it for a variety of uses. Previously, we stored everything on a server and there were so many different folders, and if an asset was applicable to more than one folder, it would live in more than one place, or it would be hard to find. Canto makes it easy to find what we're looking for and only having one file is nice for maintenance.

 ### 41. Effortless Navigation Makes Canto a Standout

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber K. | Personal Trainer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

What I appreciate most about Canto is its easy navigation.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I honestly can't find anything to dislike about Canto.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool is useful for promoting our class.

 ### 42. Great interface to store files and provide usage across across our firm

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachael R. | Manager, Design and Brand at Kearney, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Some of the best features for us is the organization of files and the reporting on usage. We also like the ease of sharing files and the ability to access via PPT and web.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The auto-tagging of assets in Canto isn't as robust as we would like, but we solve for that using a 3rd party. The new visual AI feature is nice, but we still like the tags/metadata.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a repository for our our photography that can be utilized across our global firm - easily searched, organized and managed

 ### 43. Shared Document Storage Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The searchability is the best feature. Type in one word and it searches all documents including photos.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It would be great if there were a way to have multiple people editing a document (excel sheet) in real time
Being able to preview multi page documents without having to download or open them, would be a great feature

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We find the sales team is using Canto more than our previous provider. It is so simple to use and we never hear "I can't find ..."

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi there, thanks for the great review! We're glad to hear Canto is making it easier for your team to find and use content. We appreciate your suggestions and are always open to learning more — feel free to reach out to your account manager or email customerfeedback@canto.com if you would like to chat about potential solutions. **What do you dislike about Canto?**

So far there is nothing that I dislike about Canto.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making it easier to access documents that are needed for our customers and additional paperwork.

 ### 45. Great Customer Upload Portals, but Export Downloads Can Be Unreliable

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I love having portals for customers to easily upload their own content. Allows us to have multiple restricted places for customers to share content with us. I also love the version feature. Scratches a special itch for my type A brain.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The downsides are difficulties with specific exports. Sometimes the files do not download as intended.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storage and file access across my team.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi there, we’re happy to hear that the upload portals are working well for your team. Your comment about versioning scratching that “type A” itch gave us a smile!

We hear your experience with exports not downloading as expected, and we’ll be passing that along to our product team. If you need help, our support team is always happy to take a closer look at canto-support@canto.com

Thanks so much for being part of the Canto community! - Reagan

 ### 46. Canto has been a helpful tool for distributing our images to the appropriate teams.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Cosmetics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

It's easy to prevent users from accessing restricted images until a certain date. Convenient place for our approved imagery to live.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There is a learning curve for some users who are not as experienced in technology. Things like portals and groups can be hard to teach.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto gives us one cohesive place to store and distribute our approved images to the teams or clients that need them.

 ### 47. Easy to use and fully featured for a reasonable price

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikki G. | Marketing Technology Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto has a ton of features while still being affordable. The AI visual search is great, and the platform has been great at streamlining our asset workflows.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Additional user seats are somewhat expensive, which can quickly add cost for larger teams.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As our firm has grown, we quickly saw a need for better creative workflow, brand asset approval and digital asset management within the marketing team and across the firm. Canto has helped us keep approved assets up to date while streamlining the creation of new ones.

 ### 48. UI/UX needs improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mikako I. | Design Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

It does what DAM system should do as the simplest way.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Backend setting for different roles are not as easy as it could be.
There are lots of good features but those are not easy to use so we tend to not use most of them.
Our creative team use them everyday but utilize only 10-20% of what Canto can do.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing the same assets over and over to the different teams so that creative team doesn't have to spend the time for that.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi Mikako, thanks for your review! We’re glad to hear that Canto is helping your creative team save time by centralizing asset access. For help getting more out of the platform, your account manager would be happy to walk you through features that could simplify your day-to-day. We’re actively working to improve the user experience, so we appreciate your feedback on that. Thank you for being a Canto customer!

 ### 49. Excellent DAM with Impressive AI, but New Look Takes Getting Used To

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

My favorite feature is AI, facial recognition mostly. Overall I find canto to be an excellent DAM system.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**
