## Canto Reviews
 ### 1. Efficient Media Management, Needs Better Editing and Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tammy V. | President

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I really like the capabilities and the suite of options and functionality Canto offers for sharing across multiple apps. I also appreciate how Canto allows identifying assets with meta tags and keywords, which makes locating them straightforward. The central storage location is fantastic because it makes my work more efficient and eliminates the need for back-and-forth emails or expired Dropbox links. Additionally, Canto's AI-enabled features help me find assets quickly, and it allows clients to access their brand assets directly from their portal and even share them with other vendors, which has greatly aided our workflow.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I find the features for resizing and making updates directly within Canto don't work as well for us. It's just been easier to keep doing that the way we normally do. Also, I would really like an integration with Workamajig, our project management tool, but that hasn't happened yet. The onboarding took a little longer than I'd have liked, but I understand it's important for everyone to get familiar with all the functionality.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto helps expedite workflows and communication by eliminating back and forth emails and texts, storing all assets in one central location. Clients access and share their brand assets faster, and AI features speed up asset searches, enhancing our workflow.

 ### 2. Centralized Asset Management with Quick Editing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christy H. | Director of Creative Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I really love the fact that we can resize photos within Canto and export them either in high resolution or low resolution for social media. We can do the same with videos, cutting clips to the length we need. It saves us an additional step of exporting a larger file, opening a different program, and doing those same things there, allowing us to eliminate that step and get deliverables out the door more quickly.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I'm not a giant fan of the folders and albums setup. I like the idea of having everything in one central place and using the filters to sort. But when it comes to constructing a client portal, it's a lot more practical to still have everything organized into different folders. I would rather be organizing my assets within a folder structure system.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canto as a central place for our remote team to access and share digital assets, avoiding multiple computers or internal servers. It allows easy resizing and exporting of photos and videos, eliminating additional steps and speeding up deliverables.

 ### 3. Decent Entry-Level DAM, Needs Intuitive UX

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tiffany C. | Marketing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I leverage Canto for asset storage and organization, from brand elements to photo and video work. I appreciate that it creates a centralized repository for the internal team to access and share easily. It is easy to organize, tag, and curate elements. Canto has various permission levels that make it easy to involve the full team with the right level of access. I find the tagging fairly intuitive, helping make search and discovery easy and intuitive. It also keeps our assets safe by ensuring only certain people can delete.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Canto has a rougher interface than other DAM tools and a lot of the new functions are add-ons vs baked into the core experience. It did not have as frictionless onboarding and set-up as other tools.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto creates a centralized repository for assets, making it easy to organize, tag, and curate elements. It enhances security with various permission levels, facilitating safe access and intuitive tagging for easy search and discovery.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi Tiffany, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback here. We’re glad Canto is helping your team keep everything organized and easy to access.

We appreciate the honest feedback on the interface and onboarding as well. That kind of input is helpful as we continue building on the New Library Experience. If you haven’t tried it out yet, we encourage you to and share any feedback with your Canto account team.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts! - Reagan

 ### 4. Canto Streamlines Asset Sharing Despite Integration Hurdles

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelly D.

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I use Canto as a digital asset tool for my organization, and it really helps us by allowing our entire organization to see images, graphics, and access marketing materials that were previously siloed to just the marketing team. Now, we can share it with everyone. The portals are a very cool way to share assets with both external people and internally with the team. Sharing brand materials with other organizations and images internally with teams has become easier. The initial setup of Canto was easy too.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I don't like the workspaces and integrations. They don't work for us. I also don't like how unless you purchase more user seats consumers can't access workspaces or out of the infinite number of consumers we CAN have we CAN'T reduce that number to allow for more power seat users to use those features without paying more. It kind of sucks that in order to let users have access to features they need to be a power seat user and pay more.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto allows our entire organization to access images and marketing materials, breaking down silos. The portals are a cool way to share assets internally and with external parties, making sharing brand materials effortless.

 ### 5. Efficient DAM Tool with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** cadi t.

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I use Canto for our DAM work and find it incredibly useful for both internal and external links and libraries. I like the easy access to images and sharing them, making it easier for us to send images to our customers and link our products to external vendors or customers. The portals are a great feature, allowing our customers to self-register and select the appropriate images, which frees up our resources to do more work. I also enjoy using Canto for external sharing and creating links, which is vital for our B2B site and internal usage image catalog. It makes our links for B2B customers in other segments look very professional. The initial setup was pretty easy, even for the non-digital folks.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There are only a few pain points. Entering the data of each image is clunky, and I have a tech support ticket out because it drops the leading zeros (input and export) that we need for our style/color codes. Also, when entering info, it duplicates if you are editing, again just clunky.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canto for sending images to customers, linking our products, and organizing our image catalog. It offers easy access and sharing of images. The portals allow customer self-registration, saving time and making us look professional.

 ### 6. User-Friendly and Intuitive, with a Comprehensive Help Section

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shatakshi I. | Special Events Assistant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Very user-friendly and intuitive to use. The help section is also very comprehensive and easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It’s hard to resize images the way I want, and it doesn’t feel very flexible.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with branding and lets me keep everything I need in one place.

 ### 7. Empowers Digital Asset Management, Needs Better Search Functionality

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caroline F.

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like that I can use the AI search functionality to sort through a large archive of images. I like that I can easily create albums and share them. Canto allows us a safe outlet to share our assets, knowing we can add expiration dates and limitations to protect ourselves and our assets. Canto has made it incredibly easy for us to share files comfortably.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I get really frustrated when looking for something very specific within a folder. For example, if I'm looking for visuals of sheep, I'll search 'sheep', our library comes up - but then when I want to sort my files by video - it defaults me back to a large archive of files. It doesn't stay within the current search criteria. So, I find that difficult. Especially when I know we have videography of sheep in our archive.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canto to save and share our digital assets, making it our go-to archive for images, videos, and more. It provides a safe way to share assets with expiration dates and limitations, which protects us and simplifies sharing tasks.

 ### 8. Robust Version Control and Easy Large-File Sharing for Global Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The most helpful aspect of Canto is the robust version control, which ensures our global teams are always working with the most current assets. As a global company with a high volume of files, Canto provides a centralized 'source of truth' that is easily accessible regardless of location. Additionally, the ability to share large files with external customers via shared links has been a game-changer; it streamlines our workflow and eliminates the technical frustrations typically associated with transferring large data sets.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The primary downside is the tedium of manual categorization, which consumes time that could be spent on higher-value tasks. The interface also presents a barrier to entry; without better navigation and more intuitive 'smart' features, onboarding new global users is more difficult than it should be. We also feel limited by the lack of deep customization in reporting and metadata fields, as well as the basic design constraints of the Portals.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary problem Canto solves for us is accessibility at scale. It has streamlined our file transfers and document organization through a robust tagging system that makes everything instantly searchable. The ability to build custom Portals has also solved a major communication gap, allowing our distributors and global employees to access the specific sales and internal documents they need without manual intervention. This has significantly improved our workflow efficiency and document accuracy.

 ### 9. Media company with multiple client libraries

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

As an admin, it is really helpful having the ability to divide my users into groups. This allows me to restrict the content that my clients see to only their assets and keep each of our client's libraries separated.
I also like the control over the thumbnail view which makes for easy exploration of assets. The new library view is promising as a cleaner interface.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Certain features are occasionally slow or clunky and buggy. For example, there is a delay in the time between when you click "share link" until it actually generates the link and allows you to copy it to the clipboard. This causes concern that users are losing their links or doing something wrong.
The delete and trash can functions feel treacherous and destructive sometimes. If a user doesn't know how to highlight and select the assets or albums they want to delete, they sometimes inadvertently delete things they didn't mean to. This makes users wary of making any changes to their library.
I attempted several times to link my google drive account to Canto, and syncing files failed several times so I gave up on linking to google drive.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The share link lag time seems to have improved recently. The customer service representatives are fairly responsive in a timely manner.
I have submitted feature requests several times such as my desire to be able to jump to a point in the transcript, and hopefully these will be addressed.

 ### 10. Easy File Organization and Fast Asset Search

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alina Esmeralda M. | Digital projects lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

How easy it is to organize the files and how easy is to search for the assets

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It’s not something I dislike, but I’d really like the option to upload in bulk without having to download a separate add-on.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have so much material, dating from decades ago, and to have them in hand is great

 ### 11. Time saver and risk mitigator

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelly W. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Ability to organize assets, restrict access, and easily access the assets we need for agency and client projects.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The AI search capability needs improvement. Portals are a bit confusing. I wish they had a mid-tier level of user between Consumer and Power so that our client managers could help tag metadata on assets for their clients (since they have the product knowledge etc)

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility into assets we have for ourselves and for clients, which streamlines our internal creation processes.

Ability to collaborate with clients by giving them access to their assets via portals.

Brand Style guide elements all in one place for consistent use by the team.

 ### 12. Easy to Use, Fast Uploads and Downloads

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. | head photographer/videographer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

It’s very easy to use and navigate, and both uploading and downloading are very fast!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Downloading in batches doesn't seem to work well for me, but it might be user issues. Really have no dislikes though.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We mainly use it to work among teams and as our archival system, so its been a joy.

 ### 13. Fast Status Updates and Direct Access to a Helpful Customer Care Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Crystal C. | Graphic Artist / Creative Production Quality Control, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I appreciate being able to get status updates and speak directly with a customer care manager when I need help resolving issues.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The previews aren’t updating, and it’s glitchy when it comes to recognizing images and their metadata.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me organize and separate the assets I need, and the AI feature is amazing.

 ### 14. Efficient DAM Platform with Easy Navigation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sheena W.

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I really appreciate Canto's robust DAM platform with its AI metadata tagging, which makes organizing and managing content easy. My favorite features are the portals, which save me a lot of time and make it so I don't need a team of people to manage everything. I also switched to Canto from another product because it's much easier to navigate. The initial setup was very easy, which was a big plus.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I would love if there was a way to mount Canto to a desktop to make uploading and downloading more streamlined - so I could create automations for moving files.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is a robust DAM platform that offers AI metadata tagging and makes content easily accessible to clients. It saves me time and reduces the need for a team to manage everything, providing an easy way to organize and manage content.

 ### 15. Intuitive Access, But File Classification Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Monica T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I find Canto really easy to access and intuitive, which is the best part for me.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I find it not easy to quickly see the types of files and it’s difficult to select a classification where you can find connected elements, like the individual slides of a carousel. Also, the initial setup took a lot longer than expected to transfer all our previous assets into Canto. We thought it would take 3 months max and finally, it was more like 8 months.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto helps us manage heavy files, control different types of access for teams, and provides quick access anytime.

 ### 16. Excellent UI, Smooth Onboarding, and Awesome Support for Managing Assets at Scale

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in International Trade and Development | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

It’s a great platform with an excellent UI and user experience, especially for handling a large amount of assets and keeping them organized for easy access and search. They’ve added a lot of AI enhancements, and their support is awesome. Onboarding is smooth, and there are plenty of integrations as well.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The only thing I dislike is their pricing. It’s very high, especially since it’s based on storage.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to organize a large amount of assets so both internal and external stakeholders can access them in a clear, well-organized platform that’s easy to navigate and find what they need.

 ### 17. Effortlessly Manage and Navigate Media Assets

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colonel Sanjay G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I appreciate Canto's ease of navigation and the way it categorizes topics, making it simple to find the correct images aligned with company guidelines. I love the availability of multiple formats like PNG, JPEG, and GIF, which is very convenient. Having all resources in one place without needing to open additional links is a big plus for me. The initial setup was very easy with Single Sign-On (SSO), making the whole process straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I feel like there could be more pictograms related to the new branding of Alstom. These pictograms are used widely in my presentation decks and need to be reworked to align with the new branding.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canto to get correct images that align with company guidelines, and I like that it eases navigation, categorizes topics, and offers various formats.

 ### 18. From Chaos to Canto

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Before Canto, our photos and other digital assets were strewn about different folders and platforms. Now, with Canto, they're all in one place. The ability to search for exactly what you need has freed up our time and made us more effective in what we do!

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There is a barrier to entry with Canto and you have to learn a lot before being comfortable using it. But once you get the hang of it, it's great!

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to easily locate assets.

 ### 19. Super Helpful Adobe Integration That Streamlines Our Workflow

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manny M. | Communications Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The adobe integration is super helpful, and helps with the overall workflow.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Since it is new, the cost seems high but as we begin to integrate it into our workflow I hope it will be prove to be worth the premium cost.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accessing assets rapidly in a high pace environment.

 ### 20. AI-Powered Image Search Shines, But Slow Web Loading Frustrates

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amir T. | Asst. Manager Digital Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I love the AI integration in Canto where it makes my work so much easier and faster. I just type in a keyword, and it instantly finds the images I need.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I would prefer having a desktop version of the software instead of relying solely on the web-based application. Similar to Dropbox, I believe this would help improve accessibility and performance, as the current loading time for Canto is quite slow and can sometimes cause inconvenience for end users.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As someone who is working with images regularly, I find Canto extremely helpful in making it easier to search and organize visuals. However, the process of uploading images from Dropbox — which we currently use, tends to be quite time-consuming. It often feels slow and can be challenging when time is critical. I hope there will be improvements or a more seamless integration between Dropbox and Canto in the future.

 ### 21. Easy-to-Download Creative Assets That Adapt to Any Size

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lei Y. | Marketing Executive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

It’s easy to download the creative assets and adapt them to the sizes and specifications we need.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

So far, so good. I haven’t noticed any distinct or outstanding cons.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us, as marketers or advertisers, consolidate our assets in a trustworthy, shared external dashboard. It’s also easy to grant access to agencies or other external stakeholders so they can use it as well.

 ### 22. Seamless InDesign Integration for Remote Teams, Secure File Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa G. | Digital Asset Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The integrations are particularly useful for remote workers who use InDesign. They help my team work from anywhere while ensuring that their files remain stored in a secure, backed-up environment.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

We have encountered some challenges with mapping metadata fields during our migration. This feature is essential for us, and we are eager to see it resolved soon. Customer support has been making a strong effort to help us address this issue.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are currently in the migration phase of our deployment, but we anticipate that Canto's integrations with Adobe will address the problem of siloed work, where users have been storing their working files outside of our current DAM. We are also hopeful that the AI features will assist us in locating and utilizing assets that have long been buried in our old system. The portals should help separate our work-in-progress from final files, making it easier for teams to find the completed versions they need. Additionally, we expect these changes to help eliminate the issue of duplicate files and multiple physical versions.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi Lisa, it’s great to hear how Canto’s integrations are supporting your team’s remote workflows while keeping files secure and protected! We know how important metadata mapping is for a smooth transition, and we’re glad our support team has been there to help. They’ll continue to be there for you to ensure everything runs smoothly. Cheers, Reagan.

 ### 23. User-friendly system and helpful team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Philanthropy | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I really appreciate how intuitive and well-organized the platform is. The interface makes it easy to upload, manage, and find assets quickly, and the search and tagging features are very efficient.

The customer support has been excellent. Very responsive and helpful throughout the onboarding process. The system is stable, visually clear, and flexible enough to adapt to different team needs.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There’s nothing I particularly dislike so far. A few workflows could be more intuitive for new users, but overall the experience has been very positive.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto is helping us centralize and organize a large number of photos and communication materials from our grantees and partners. Having everything in one place is making it much easier for our team to find, share, and reuse visual content across reports, presentations, and social media. It's greatly improving collaboration and saving us time.

 ### 24. One year in

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

AI automated search, collaborative workspaces, facial recognition, asset control, custom roles

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Canto connect is not accessible to SSO users, workspace assets are not able to be imported from main library

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Photo searchability is main problem solved, work flow, and metadata accessibility. Users of the office archive before canto could not access any information about the photo or remember what location they got it from. There was a lot of content chaos before in the old DAM ,no keywords, tags or descriptive data, and we now have all of that information

 ### 25. Huge, Searchable Asset Library That Empowers Sales Reps

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael G. | Director of Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

It’s been really helpful to give our sales reps access to a large library of assets that they can easily search by keyword and quickly share with clients when needed.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

My main issue is creating share links. It’s the one feature I really wish worked more like Dropbox. Also, there are quite a few functions and features included that we don’t really need, or that we’re not sure what they’re for.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto gives our sales reps easy access to a large library of assets they wouldn’t normally be able to reach while on the road visiting customers.

 ### 26. User-Friendly but Needs More Flexible Permissions

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Breana S.

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like that Canto is user-friendly and allows for an easy system flow and organization of assets. It enables us to have multiple folders and subfolders, along with naming, tagging, and keywords, so that photos and videos are searchable and easy to find for everyone on our large team.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I don't like that there's limited user powers for anyone other than power users, which makes it time-consuming for just our 3 power users to go back and add tags or keywords to uploaded assets. It would be great if all users could do this.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto allows for easy-to-find assets like videos and photos. The platform is user-friendly and offers seamless system flow, enabling easy organization with multiple folders, naming, tagging, and keywords for searchable content. It's beneficial for managing digital assets in our nonprofit.

 ### 27. Good Asset Management with Room for AI Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa T.

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I use Canto for managing our company's product images and marketing materials. It provides one place for all of our assets, which is really convenient. For the most part, I think it's pretty easy to use. The initial setup was fairly easy because my boss and I had used it at a previous company.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

A lot actually. The AI does not work at all for us. Are images are mainly stuffed animals, and AI does not recognize them at all. It created problems for us and we actually turned the AI assistant off. It also lags. When we upload images, they don't often show up in the album we put them in. That can be frustrating.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canto to manage our company's product images and marketing materials, giving us one place for all our assets.

 ### 28. Flexible Content Management with a Learning Curve, But Worth the Effort

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Makenna C. | Marketing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto has allowed my team to organize our content in a way that makes sense for us and our customers who have access to our Brand Portal. I enjoy the ability to tag, keyword, and cross assign assets to multiple folders where needed, instead of having to upload the same file several times in different folders.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There can be a bit of a learning curve in terms of best-practices on how to best organize your content, but their webinars and new updates have made it more self-explanatory. It's not a one-size-fits-all, but if you put in the strategy and work to create a system that works best for you, it will be beneficial.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to create a Brand Portal for our customers to be able to access select content from us to utilize when they represent our company has been very helpful. Distributors can take our logos, colors, and brand imagery to represent our products in their stores so that they represent our brand how we would like them to.

 ### 29. A great platform to house all your content in one place.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikeeta E. | Graphic Designer II, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

My experience with this platform has been nothing but positive. One of my favorite features in Canto is how easy it is to manage file updates. I can simply replace an existing file without needing to delete or reupload anything, and all the previous versions are stored in the version history for easy reference. This makes asset management incredibly efficient. It’s intuitive and saves me a lot of time when uploading and sorting content.

As a creative designer using Canto daily, I rely on it heavily throughout my workflow. It’s a dependable resource I constantly reference while developing new materials. On top of that, the customer support team is always quick to respond and very helpful whenever I need assistance. Canto is extremely user friendly, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone managing a large volume of digital assets across teams or departments.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The only area of Canto that I find slightly inconvenient is the need to create albums within folders, rather than being able to drop files directly into a folder. That said, I understand this structure supports better organization, so I wouldn't necessarily change it. Another thing that would be helpful is when you delete files if you are able to just delete a version versus the whole item.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto has made a big impact by helping our team stay aligned with the most up-to-date content. It's easy to track when assets were uploaded or last updated, which reduces confusion and the risk of using outdated materials. The recent addition of their AI search tool has also made it much easier to locate specific assets quickly. Another benefit is how much storage space it saves on my computer. Since everything is stored in Canto, I can simply download what I need for a project and remove it afterward, knowing I can always access it again when needed.

**Official Response from Maeghan Durbin:**

> Nikeeta,
WOW—this review made my day! We love to hear that our customers feel so supported by our customer support team (they're pretty great)! We're also glad to hear that you find the platform user-friendly and that it helps you in handling multiple types of assets as a graphic designer.

We understand your feedback about creating albums within folders and will definitely take it into consideration for future improvements. If you have any more suggestions or questions, please feel free to reach out. Thank you for recommending Canto, and we look forward to continuing to support you!
-Maeghan

 ### 30. Efficient, User-Friendly, and Reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter B. | Creative Manager, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The best thing about canto is how quickly you are able to view assets once you've uploaded them. The search works really well, and there's loads of time saving features like AI tagging and creating upload links so that our photographers can upload directly into the system. It's been very straight-forward to implement and it's naturally integrated in our workflow. We use Canto most days and its reliable and does a great job of helping us find the right images so we can focus on design. On a few occasions where we've needed additional support, the customer support has been excellent and you feel valued as a customer.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Like any big business, they are led by their clients and build their platform in response to the different scales and requirements that they need. As a smaller use case, some of the new features like Brand Studio look amazing, but they aren't realistic for us as our requirements are weighted differently to the different packages they offer. In an ideal world I'd love to see a basic package with one admin, then the option to add additional template and exports so that it works for our use case.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto saves us a lot of time and replaces several tedious admin tasks. We've shaped our whole workflow around using the upload links with our Photographers. Images are now captured at an event, uploaded directly to Canto, automatically tagged, then approved by our administrators. No chasing WeTransfer links that have expired, or asked for things to be reuploaded - it saves us a lot of time!

 ### 31. Portal Feature Boosts Organization and Adoption of Materials

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon D. | Senior Marketing Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The Portal feature is the most useful for our business. Being able to sort and show assets in multiple portals as the needs of different areas of the business dictate is incredibly useful.

The way the system handles duplicates and allowing to see and view similar files easily is also a feature we use regularly and helps to keep things organised and tidy across our remote teams.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The UI of Canto can sometimes feel a little dated, but the usability of it is very good, so doesn't impact too much.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working remotely as a marketing team, it's vital that we have all of our marketing assets organised and searchable for all. A large, global sales team also needs access to a range of materials, and being able to create portals for easy access, update files without creating new links, and seeing version history makes all this possible.

The analytics functions are also good for product launches to see who has been engaging with the content and who hasn't for full accountability.

 ### 32. Perfectly Easy to Use with Well-Structured Data Layout

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like its ease of use at the end user level and the structure of how the data is laid out.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

At this moment, nothing.
The support is sufficient and again, ease of use is perfect.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto helps solve the challenge of managing and finding digital assets across multiple teams and storage locations.
It centralizes images, videos, documents, and brand information in one searchable platform, eliminates duplicate content, improves version control, and streamlines collaboration.

 ### 33. Effective Media Management, but Integration Hurdles

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cassie S. | Senior Director of Public Relations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I appreciate the facial recognition and AI tools in Canto that help us find photos and videos fast and efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

A lot of the terminology is very confusing in Canto, with terms like portals, workspaces, albums versus folders being particularly tricky. It can be a little confusing. Also, setting up the organizational tools is challenging compared to actually using them. We've tried to integrate it with Adobe and faced many roadblocks with that.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto helps with photo organization and storage. I appreciate its facial recognition and AI tools for finding photos and videos fast and efficiently.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi Cassie, it’s great to hear how facial recognition and Canto’s AI tools are helping your team find photos and videos quickly! That's exactly what they’re there for.

We hear you on the implementation feeling a bit challenging at times, and that’s something we’re actively working to make more intuitive.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, we’re glad to have you as part of the Canto community! – Reagan

 ### 34. Effective digital asset management tool for marketing photography

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I appreciate that Canto allows shared access to photo content across an organization; this provides a curated inventory of photography we can all draw from for marketing purposes without having to make individual requests. It cuts down on email volume and file sharing.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The filters, keyword searches, and tags feel clunky and sometimes difficult to find content. It's one of those "output is only as good as the input scenarios" and my organization has gotten better with curating tags to make this a more useable feature over time.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduced need to file share - especially large photos - across and beyond the organization (if login is granted). Reduces the need to make requests and allows access to a robust inventory of photography that can be used across mediums.

 ### 35. Seamless Collaboration, Stellar Asset Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan H.

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I really appreciate Canto's external sharing capabilities and find it intuitive for our sales team to navigate. It effectively saves us from the hassle of email back and forth and ensures our team stays aligned on creative. Setting it up was very easy, even though dealing with internal assets took some effort. I also value the attentive customer service team and the great support from our account team.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I wish there were capabilities to edit the assets included in share links rather than having to make a new one. I also wish we were able to draft approval hub flows before pushing them out to the broader team.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto saves email back and forth, ensures our team is aligned on creative, and offers great approval, sharing, and storage features.

 ### 36. Great Search and Access Controls, but Organizing Collections Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neelly P. | Graphic Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like the ability to search, make portals, and crate different accessibility levels for all of the teams that need different priorities. Customer support is also very helpful and the calls are nice.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I am retroactively cleaning up our Canto setup so the only downside I have found is the organizing tool. It is sometimes difficult to move collections of items from one album directly to another without other steps in between.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating different levels of access that determine how accessible certain assets are for different levels of priority and clearance.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hello Neelly, our support team will be happy to hear your kind words. It’s great to know that features like search, portals, and access controls are helping your team work efficiently. We also appreciate your feedback on organizing collections and will share your comments with our product team. Cheers, Reagan.

 ### 37. One Central Hub for Digital Assets That Keeps Teams Consistent

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan O. | Desktop technical support engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

Canto gives us a single place to store all our digital assets—images, videos, documents, and brand files—which makes it easier to maintain consistency across teams and avoid duplication.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

In my opinion, the biggest downside of Canto is the licensing cost.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It centralizes all digital assets in one organized hub. With metadata, tags, and AI search, files become instantly findable when you need them. The main benefits are faster workflows, less duplication, and the confidence that teams always know where the “source of truth” lives.

 ### 38. Effortless Media Management, Stellar User Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucie C.

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like that Canto allows us to share assets with our network of distributors and sales team. I appreciate the ease of search in Canto, which makes finding what we need quick and simple. The portals are a strong feature, as they let us easily control our media all from one central hub, instead of having to house things in multiple folders. Also, the initial setup of Canto was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I would love if the backend looked different than the customer facing portal. The PDF and file viewers could use some work, they're a little clunky and don't always work.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto allows us to share assets with our network, and its portals make it easy to control media from one hub, simplifying organization.

 ### 39. Excellent product for end user and admins

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I love the keyword and tagging structure Canto uses. Their custom fields make it easy to keep content organized year after year. The onboarding experience has also been excellent, and the system has been easy to navigate and learn.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Truly, we have yet to find a downside to Canto. The price was daunting coming from using a very inexpensive SmugMug account, but the product is well worth it.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a PK-12 school and we were using several Smug Mug accounts to manage and store our photos. We had separate accounts to manage privacy and access across our teams. This allows us to hide what we need to, share publicly when we need to, and manage our users in an effective and secure way.

 ### 40. AI Search That Finds Files Fast and Saves Tons of Time

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Building Materials | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The AI Search was really helpful when it comes to searching for files when you're not sure about the name itself. Saved me tons of time and a ton of effort

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I wish you can choose to upload a file and put it in a folder or album from the get go. Would make organizing much easier

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handling hundreds of thousands of files and images. Organizing it has been made so much easier

 ### 41. Intuitive, User-Friendly Tool with an Impressive Image Search Engine

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vijay B. | Audit Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

What I liked most was the impressive search engine—finding images is incredibly easy and straightforward. Overall, I found it to be a very intuitive, user-friendly tool that’s simple to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

One downside is that some of the more advanced features are expensive. I’ve also noticed that when I’m working with large volumes of files, the performance drops considerably.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It offers excellent visual organization and saves me a lot of time on manual tasks. It’s also a very secure platform: its granular permission management helps ensure that files aren’t modified without proper authorization.

 ### 42. Streamlined Asset Management with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like how much storage space Canto has. It's convenient to connect the DAM with the PIM.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Implementing the PIM is not the most natural yet, but the development team has been making a lot of improvements and are very receptive to feedback. The AI search and metadata doesn't work well for niche product groups. The definition and limitations of folders and albums on the Canto DAM are a little weird. Setting up the Canto PIM was not very easy but not very hard either.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto helps me organize image assets, connect images to product details, and share images via public portals.

 ### 43. Canto XI Makes Asset Management Easy, But Upload Permissions Could Improve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy W. | Applications Support & Project Analysis, Non-Profit Organization Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

What I love about using Canto is the ability to easily configure your digital asset management library in the best way for your end users. Their recent release of Canto XI has made finding and downloading assets easier, and I'm excited to continue our implementation and roll out these features to our organization.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

The only limitation we've seen with Canto is the requirement of power user seats for uploads. They do have the upload link option for "guest" uploads, but it's not very scalable for managing large amounts of upload personas without Contributor licenses.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have assets all over and with no organization -- no one knows how to find things. We know we're losing assets that could be good, and we have difficulties with "democratizing" access to our assets.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hi Amy, we spent a lot of time on Canto XI to deliver tools and features that provide the best user experience, and we’re happy to hear it makes finding and downloading assets easier for you.

We also appreciate your feedback on upload permissions and will be sharing this with our product team. Thank you for being part of the Canto Community! – Reagan

 ### 44. Effortless Photo Management with Impressive Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like how Canto makes it much easier to receive photos from photographers and share them in a modern way. I appreciate that Canto continues to improve and add new features, and I find the facial recognition, style guides, and customizing portals to be really great features. These tools make it easier to identify athletes and share photos in a visually appealing way.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I do not like the new library view and happy the option to use the old view is still available

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canto to easily receive photos from photographers and share them in a modern way. It makes it easier to identify athletes and share photos visually appealingly.

 ### 45. Convenient Photo Storage with Minor Speed Hiccups

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allyssa S.

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like Canto for its ability to use tags and make share links easily. The tagging feature is great because it makes it easy to come back to old photos when I need them. Being able to make share links allows me to share my work with others easily. I also found the initial setup of Canto to be easy.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

Sometimes it is really slow at processing. I also don't like how the photo quality gets compressed in the preview.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto provides a place to store photos and allows me to tag them for quick access. The tagging helps find old photos easily, and I can share my work effortlessly with share links.

 ### 46. Effortless Photo Organization with Room for UI Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

I like using Canto for photo asset management and organization. It helps various departments on campus by allowing us to organize and sort our photos strategically. I really appreciate the customization in tagging, keywords, and custom fields. This customization lets me get extremely specific, which makes organizing and searching for images so much easier. Being able to search through different keywords or tags saves me so much time.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

I think the User Interface could be more intuitive. While I am proficient in the software, a lot of our users have shared that they are confused about navigating the website at times. I think if they could improve the UI to be a bit more user friendly that would be amazing. It would also be nice if we could pin certain files or images to the top of an album for easy access.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canto helps us manage photos by organizing and sorting them with tags, keywords, and custom fields, making it easier to find images and simplifying our workflow.

 ### 47. Effortless DAM System—No Training Needed for Partners

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zsolt B. | Media Learning Development Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The best part is I dont need to upskill external partners to use our DAM system, as everything is really straight forward. I like the customer support, they answer all my question no time.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

As an Admin the learning curve is steep, there is a lot of settings (dam, portal, workplace, settings, tags, keywords etc) and a lot of rules and mechanics and the setting part after a year still confusing sometimes.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are creating classroom based and eLearnings, managing over 2000 different training. For maintenance sometimes we lost all the original sourcefiles, forced us to recreate the whole learning from scratch . Also we had no chance to share/show our assets to an external developer, so sometime we paid for a content or animation again.

 ### 48. User-Friendly File Organization and Effortless Sharing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emma D. | Customer Success Manager., Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

What impresses me most is how well it organizes files and how easily I can share them with other clients. It’s excellent for locating content, and the interface is very user-friendly and straightforward to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There’s one thing I don’t particularly like: when uploading large files, the tool is slow, and it should be more efficient. That’s all.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Personally, this tool has helped me guide clients more effectively and answer their questions without any issues, thanks to closer, more personal communication.

 ### 49. Effortless Image Discovery and Simple Uploads

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

What I like most is how easy it is to find images, and how simple the image upload process is.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

It can be quite difficult using help. It doesn't always give you the answers you want.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can send a portal link to clients and they can find everything they need without contacting me directly.

 ### 50. Great filter options, but portal tracking is missing

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emma V. | Creative Specailist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Canto?**

The filter options so that we don't have to rely solely on albums and folders.

**What do you dislike about Canto?**

There not being a tracking ability in the portals.

**What problems is Canto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Canva integration makes it easier for me to create things without having to download and upload. It also helps me view assets in one locations. I helps with sharing ability within the organization. Along with being able to search our assets and easily find them.

**Official Response from Reagan Cola:**

> Hey Emma, thanks for sharing this! We’re glad to hear the filter options and Canva integration are making it easier to find and use your assets. Appreciate the note on Portal tracking as well. Thanks for being part of the Canto community! -Reagan
