I think they have an area of opportunity in the integration they have with Snagit and Audiate. We have had some errors when we want to create an avatar and then integrate it with Camtasia, or we want to use another application and we have no way to make the integrations. The clip speed by drag-and-drop or by stretching the clip is missing - you always have to enter a number of seconds, which is often not very precise. The transcription of speech is not quite accurate. Unfortunately, corrections cannot be made easily, this should be optimized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like everything about Camtasia, but what I appreciate the most is the vast number of editing options it provides. You know, I can just copy and paste properties without having to repeat myself, which is really helpful. It's great for editing recordings from webinars with many speakers, as it allows maintaining consistency in video size, width, and breadth. Other features like splitting the audio and boosting the volume when a speaker is quiet are amazing options. The smooth initial setup and the great customer support also stand out to me. I use Camtasia for content recording and video editing. I like the ease of use; it didn't take long to learn how to utilize it. The shortcut options are handy, as I can stop or pause a recording with shortcuts instead of having to move the mouse, which saves editing time. Exporting to multiple formats is another great feature because it allows me to create shareable formats to distribute content easily. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy. Camtasia doesn't like saving projects to OneDrive, which means I have to save projects locally and then move files to OneDrive as a workaround. Also, I'm not a fan of the editing default that hides my desktop with a strange swirl of color. It would be better to have my branding there instead of a random color. I am a professor and I use Camtasia to create videos for my students, mainly for lessons and demonstrations. I really like the integration with Audiate and cannot speak highly enough of it. It allows me to edit audio easily and when it syncs, the video and audio match up perfectly. The screen capture video recording in Camtasia is very limiting. Unlike Zoom where you can add a virtual background and then just record, Camtasia requires you to remove the background. As long as I use my green screen this is not a problem, but if I don't want to set up my green screen, I'm stuck removing the clutter of my office, which results in huge video files that take forever to render. Sometimes I choose to record in Zoom and bring in the MP4 as a media import, which is really inconvenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use Camtasia primarily to create video-based microlearnings for clients. I appreciate that Camtasia ties all of the content together into a single package, allowing a mix of visuals and audio to be edited into an engaging video. I find it easy to make quick edits to a video, which historically is not easy to do with other tools. It's fairly intuitive, yet it allows you to go deep and become a real power user. The biggest headache I have with the platform is saving assets in such a way that the file path doesn't get changed. My desktop can get pretty unruly and when you're producing a lot of content, it can be a challenge to find a good system to keep all files organized and also readily available. I find recording the screencast and editing the video post recording easy with Camtasia. I like that I can record any part of my screen with audio.
