"Camtasia Makes Editing Long Math Lessons Easy"
5/5
What do you like best about Camtasia?

I teach math and use Camtasia to record and edit video lessons for my students. I like the editing features most because I do not need to re-record an entire video when I make a mistake at the very end (some test reviews will be 60-90 minutes). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

There isn't much I dislike. I have had to "google" how to do some editing in Camtasia, but I didn't read any getting started information before starting to record and edit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Get Started and Crank Out Training Videos Fast"
5/5
What do you like best about Camtasia?

It is easy to get started. I've tried other video editing programs before, but they were confusing to use. I decided to try again when i had to create some training videos. The breakdown of tracks and letting me drop & drag parts on top of each other is so easy. I can record a video of me training or upload a powerpoint and have it generate the audio (my favorite part). I was able to crank out several videos in one day! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

It can get a little sluggish with large projects Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive for All Skill Levels, but Download Lag and Mobile Issues"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Camtasia?

Camtasia is intuitive, and I’ve found it works well for users at all skill levels—not just instructional designers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

The app lags and I keep running into issues with downloads. I’m also frustrated that the quiz results summary was removed. On mobile, downloads don’t seem to work properly, and I’ve noticed audio distortion as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Techsmith makes it easy."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Camtasia?

I still believe that Camtasia is probably the fastest way to go from "idea" to "video" -- certainly it's the way that non-power users will find most intuitive. That ease-of-use does not come at the price of precision, and experienced users will find it easy get exactly what they want. Exports are easy and some built-in functionality (w/ Camtasia's smart player export option) will delight users who need to drop their videos somewhere outside of a CMS but retain key functionality (like chapters). Camtasia has made small improvements to the general UI and workflow have boosted my overall production speed and I'm generally pleased overall with how much I can do at such a high velocity. Additionally, thought I'm not a Camtasia Rev user (does not fit my use case), I appreciate having it in my back pocket if I would ever need to dramatically shift gears. What do you dislike about Camtasia?

Animations are a big part of taking the dynamism of your video to the next level, and though Camtasia's "motion path" tool is adequate, it's not exactly slick. Also, I occasionally wish that Camtasia had some better text editing features, though I can appreciate why this hasn't been TechSmith's priority. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Training with Camtasia"
5/5
What do you like best about Camtasia?

I use Camtasia for internal training, external training videos, product demos, and marketing videos. It significantly reduces training time for clients. I like its ease of use and the extensive library of tutorials and webinars, which allow me to learn at my own pace and eliminate the need for support tickets on how to do something. The initial setup was 'easy peasy', making it my first choice without considering alternatives. I also find it helpful that Camtasia integrates with Snagit and Audiate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

Sometimes Camtasia crashes after an update. There may also be little bugs that I'm not aware of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy, Fast Short Video Edits with Handy Screen Recording"
5/5
What do you like best about Camtasia?

it's very easy to do small short video edits and create short quick videos. I also like how you can record the screen and get a rough transcript of the audio Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

It seems to REALLY slow down with more animations and images - a 5 minute video that has call outs (arrows and call out boxes ) it gets super buggy and freezes and you have to remember to save every time you do something because it will just shut down or freeze and you'll lose all your work. And my videos are NOT that complex Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Video Editing with Camtasia"
5/5
What do you like best about Camtasia?

I like that Camtasia is easy to use and intuitive, making it simple to create videos. It's also really easy to repeat branding across different videos, which is a big plus for me. These features help speed up the time for delivery, allowing me to focus more on strategy and less on tasks. Additionally, the setup process was very easy, thanks to its interface's similarity to other video editing tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

I do wish it could provide me more feedback about my video and what I could improve on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Audiate makes audio editing fast and precise – thanks to waveform fine-tuning"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Camtasia?

I use Audiate and am very satisfied with it because it allows me to quickly edit audio: cutting out important paragraphs, exporting important statements/sections. It's great that I have the waveform at the same time to make fine adjustments. Compared to other programs, like Adobe Podcast for example, this is great because there, sounds were often cut off and I have no control over it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

The AI voices sound relatively monotonous, and the avatars aren't that great either, but they help when you want to quickly present something. Suggestion for improvement: to be able to invite someone to work on a project together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Camtasia’s Built-In Narration Tools Make Training Videos Easy"
4/5
What do you like best about Camtasia?

My favorite part about Camtasia is that it has tools built in that directly relate to what you are trying to do in the project. For instance, there is a voice narration tool that is built to allow you to watch the video and complete the narration in real time. It also performs very well compared to more complicated video editing / training tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Camtasia?

Probably the biggest downside of Camtasia is that it is not a full fledged video editor. This means that there are a few features that are less sophisticated and less customizable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
