Online resources are abundant, so if I have any questions or want any assets like title animations or music, they are easy to find. **What do you dislike about Camtasia?** I wish there was an easier way to have text scroll along the bottom of the screen. The included library of transitions and animations is also helpful. **What do you dislike about Camtasia?** It takes a lot of processing power (understandably), so I did need to invest in a laptop that could handle all of our video creation needs. With Camtasia, we were able to include different media with animated components. We had a mix of: host on screen, recordings of virtual interviews with SME's, powerpoint slides, images, text blurbs, and so much more. We also included "knowledge checks" throughout the video. And it does not work when I import the video to SharePoint pages. So if I am focusing on a certain area of the production material and the current play time exceeds the timeline, the time line will skip ahead and follow the currently playing frame. The features are excellent. I'm still discovering new things each time I use it. One of the most powerful features is the dynamic cursor editing. It's amazing to be able to move the cursor out of the way if it's in an inconvenient spot, and this without having to re-record your video. With transitions, fades, animations, effects, easy deletion and undo, this is probably about the most powerful and intuitive video editing tool for software demos that I'm aware of. I highly recommend it! **What do you dislike about Camtasia?** There are a couple features I haven't yet figured out how to use. I would love to know how to take a still shot from one part of a video and extend it on the timeline, so as to fill in a gap of time. Implementing it into our routine took no time at all. Audiate is easy to use and pretty accurate at transcription, but it's all the EXTRAS that really win me over. For starters, it will highlight ALL your uhs and ums. The integrated AI functionality, includingscript generation and AI text-to-speech, is really awesome, and the built-in editing makes it simple to produce clean recordings. Audiate is our go-to tool for creating closed captions. We can take a video, edit it in Camtasia, and quickly & easily send it to Audiate to edit and generate closed captions. That integration alone is worth the cost. **What do you dislike about Camtasia?** There is no speed adjustment on the playback, so if you're reviewing the extracted text, you're stuck listening to the thing in real time. When it comes to punctuation, it doesn't handle fast talkers very well, and it doesn't scan the text to find proper placements of periods and commas. As for speed, it can take several minutes for it to extract a script from any source material. When it comes to recording and transcription, it's not my favorite or preferred tool because of how long it takes to process the recording. **What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?** We struggled to find a way of transcribing long videos. Most of the online tools are limited or expensive. The only option was to do them by hand. With Audiate and it's integration with Camtasia, creating subtitles is simple. It also is great for doing some basic cleaning up of prerecorded audio. We're also looking at it as a way to supplement our recording time by using the AI text-to-speech engine. ### 26. The recent update with Audiate looks very promising on paper, and does have some cool functionality on paper, but... **What do you dislike about Camtasia?** ...Since getting Camtasia 2023 and Audiate I've had nothing but problems. The last three videos I recorded, I spent hours recording and then things went wrong. First video, Camtasia kept crashing everytime I opened the file. Second video, after editing in Audiate the audio and video then came out of sync and became completely unusable. Third video, for some mysterious reason the framerate on the recording (recorded through Camtasia) is completely messed up. I've reached out to customer service and they are responsive, but I don't have the time to deal with all this mess. This has caused me so much stress and wasted so much of my time that I've decided to stop recording videos for now until I can learn a new software. Given that I have a YouTube Channel and a number of online courses on Udemy, I am no stranger to making videos. But the frustration Camtasia has caused me has actually put my video production on hold. Especially when the trainings are meeting based and get side tracked with lots of irrelevant talk and questions. I can just select the start of each passage, give it a listen and remove the take I don't want to keep. Simultaneously Audiate creates a captioning file for me, and allows me to easily sync everything bavk to Camtasia - it's a winner! And now, with the AI options, I can write a script, and choose a voice in a range of languages and in english with my local Aussie accent to read it for me. It's faster, cleaner and well less prone to the multiple retakes I've needed over the years. Sooo amazing. **What do you dislike about Camtasia?** Nothing much... occasionally the sync with Camtasia goes wrong and I have to disconnect the files and reconnect it all, but it's not often, and it's not really a hassle when it happens, just a few clicks to resolve. **What problems is Camtasia solving and how is that benefiting you?** I create training videos for my workplace, including voice overs and narration as required. It has an estensive and easy to follow guide on the site that lets you learn for free about the software and the customer support is also really fast and easy to use, using a chat on the site. i had to use it to register a video course and, with a bit of preparation, was easy to teach how to use it also to other people who where less experienced with editing softwares. i have used it for a little less than a month but i can say that integrating it with audiate (another software from the same company) made the editing really fast and accurate. I now will need to implement it to a workflow to create videocourses for a client that does not know hot to use this kind of software but im confident that with some guidance and the guides that they provide they will learn how to use it and use it every time they need a new couse done. **What do you dislike about Camtasia?** I only had 3 issues with camtasia, the software did not recognise right away my canon camera, so i had to use another software to connect it properly and the audio and video was not perfectly in synk, but maybe it was my problem. You cannot decide the area in which they are going, you cannot decide spacing or any kind of formatting, only font size.
