Using CAM-TOOL we were able to optimise machining process for manufacturing of complex vehicle components like
Wheel hub assembly.
It's helps to creating G-codes which saving our time.
User interface is very easy to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Software demands high power and process ability of our systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The multiple tooth paths available. Error free NC code. Tool path calculated based on actual surface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The stock files created with each path can take up memory. Manual programming needed for turning in a lathe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
CAM-Tool generates very accurate & smooth Die/Mold tool paths very efficiently. It generates tool paths based on the actual surface & not on some polygon rendering that needs to be tweaked to get the polygon bumps down to the smoothness required. I have tried other Die/Mold CAM programs to generate the same code would take hours to generate while CAM-Tool does it in mere minutes. I have used the software for over a decade & have rarely had to edit any NC code. CAM-Tool is able to calculate up to eight separate tool paths concurrently. Most tool paths are not directly related to the previous, thus not require any recalculation of later strategies. Very rarely does this software crash. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
CAM-Tool is designed for milling machines only. Any lathe type machine would require manual programming the turning operations, or another CAM software to generate the turning tool paths. Software is geared toward smaller parts, so rendering large parts can be time consuming. CAM-Tool creates a stock model for each optimized tool path. These stock models can quickly fill a hard drive. CAMTOOL is our go to software for small to medium size mold components. No other software has been able to perfrom as well when cutting hard materials and intricate details/deep ribs. Tool life and surface finish has been greatly improved since switching to CAMTOOL. Because of the stock model feature there is very little wasted motion/air cutting. It also makes re machining operations a breeze as the software knows exactly what areas need to be re cut. The software also allows us to use the same DIA cutter with different lengths to reach into deeper areas like ribs. The software will automatically generate the toolpath based on the length of tool and remove unwanted tool path for each longer tool. This allows us to cut as much of the material with the shorter more rigid tool. CAMTOOL is also always upgrading and improving the software, adding additional features and improving the user experience. The local support has always been very helpful with solving problems and providing training to new and existing users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the more simple 2D toolpaths can take more time to setup compared to other softwares. However, once you are comfortable with the workflow it becomes a non issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cam-Tool is a step above when it comes to molds and dies. It has reduced programming and machining times. Also allowed for confident lights out hard milling for our molds. Simultanius 5 axis work is very easy to learn compared to other software out there. Support is very responsive to questions and provide you with the help you need to get the job done. A high end computer with lots of memory and processors makes life easier, but that can be said for most CAM systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Increased tool life, accurate tool paths, ability to machine hardened steel, fast, dependable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Pretty big learning curve, no Solidworks translator, no Wire EDM module Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Fast. Really fast. If you need to work fast, don't even hesitate to use it. In the first sight, you have so many buttons to use, it could be complicating but you will get use to it, don't worry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So oldfashioned design. Low quality color choiced. Need to work on contrast too. Also having so many buttons in opening could be complicating for new users even if they can handle it with time but it slows understanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
