As a developer, I liked the Cafu Engine's capability to create variety of 3D games and application very easily. The other features I liked about it are cross-platform portablity and very fast built-in network for LAN games which I have used personally in my project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I disliked about it included the high pricing for using the pro features. The pricing could have been less for beginners. Also, most libraries are just C++ supportive, so it's pretty hectic to work and compile with other language libraries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Setting up from scratch, importing assets into the engine, scripting, & building my first frankenstein of a multiplayer game using the Cafu engine overall felt hassle-free & any obstacles faced from my end were quickly resolved thanks to the help receiver from the strong & passionate GitHub community contributing to the improvement of the engine with its open-source nature. With Cafu, I was able to create my own version of Half-Life 1 LAN game by importing some of the game's original maps like Frenzy & CrossFire & modifying some of the maps' parts to suite my & my friends' playstyle. Since we're in a habit of meeting every week for a LAN party at my garage, my friends would offer feedback on what can be added or altered in my game to propel the gaming experience even further, & implementing such changes in the engine would be performed shortly after. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with Cafu's simplistic, yet performant capabilities & being able to produce a nostalgic game using this engine that can even run on ancient / low-end hardware makes it a unique piece of software to utilize for game development. I genuinely cannot think of any inconvenience I've faced with Cafu Engine. My only minor nitpick would be that the user interface of the engine could benefit from a little refinement where I'd wish the list of assets would load a tad faster. What I like best about Cafu Engine is that is user friendly. To be completely honest, I do not use software like this often, BUT when I use Cafu Engine, even after a period of time, i do not feel lost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
