Can't beat it for ease of use, time saving and customer support! **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Brandy G. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2020 **What do you like best about Buzz to the Rescues?** Before switching to the Buzz to the Rescues, we had a basic website with separate online sites for logging our rescue's medical records, another for accounting, one for keeping track of fosters and adoptions, one for microchip registrations, etc., plus paper files everywhere! Since switching to Buzz, everything is in one place! No more logging out and logging into separate sites, plus all our records can now be stored online! It's such a time saver! As a rescuer, one wants to spend more time with the animals and caring for them, than on the computer fighting to keep the records straight. The software is very user friendly and the time for our uploading of information we need to keep on the pets in our care has been cut more than half. Also great, at least for us non-tech people, is the customer support! There are lots of "self-help" cheat sheets on how to use the various aspects of the system and, if there is a problem not covered by those, the support staff is there to help! Plus, with more features coming regularly, it only gets better and better! **What do you dislike about Buzz to the Rescues?** We really haven't found much to dislike. **Recommendations to others considering Buzz to the Rescues:** Do it! You won't be sorry! **What problems is Buzz to the Rescues solving and how is that benefiting you?** Time and money! As stated before, the time spent uploading documents and information has been cut in half. Also, not having to pay for multiple sites is saving us money, which as a small rescue specializing in medical care rescues, means more of our money can go to helping the dogs. ### 2. This is the first time that our organization has worked with a software platform specifically designed for pet rescues. Our team has been overly satisfied with the product and look forward to continued integration as web design and creativity are ever growing. Buzz has excellent customer service and turn-around-times. Their Team Lead is responsive to questions outside of business hours when necessary. That is a luxury we are delighted to have! **What do you dislike about Buzz to the Rescues?** Some pieces of the website are not able to be edited on the user end. However, if a request is presented to the Buzz Team, edits can be accommodated to meet our needs. **What problems is Buzz to the Rescues solving and how is that benefiting you?** One place for EVERYTHING! Buzz is our “go to” for adoption, foster, and volunteer management. Having one dashboard to house it all has been fantastic. The integration with Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, Found Animals, and PayPal has been wonderful. We look forward to utilizing the donation management options this year. ### 3. They created a beautiful, custom website where users can submit applications to adopt, foster, or volunteer with our rescue. The volunteer portal to manage dogs and applicants is comprehensive yet easy to use. When switching over to their system, their development team helped me easily transfer and load our historical data. Truly, I can not say enough great things about Buzz to the Rescues. Their software has made us more efficient and streamlined, which has directly translated to more dogs in loving homes. **What do you dislike about Buzz to the Rescues?** We had a few requests at the beginning of the implementation that resulted in an extra cost for custom development. This gave us pause at first but our concerns were alleviated by their upgrade policy. When they add a custom feature for one rescue, that benefit is rolled out to ALL rescues, so it is a bit like paying into a communal pot. Since getting our site up and running we've benefited from additional customer requests at no additional charge. It's a nice reminder that we are all in this together! **Recommendations to others considering Buzz to the Rescues:** Do it. The software has improved our organization in innumerable ways! **What problems is Buzz to the Rescues solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before Buzz we managed our Volunteers, Applicants, Dogs, and website all via different platforms. Buzz provided a unified, single location where we could manage everything important to the rescue. This has been a huge timesaver, which in the rescue world, translates to a literal lifesaver for our surrendered dogs. Buzz to the Rescues has helped us to be more efficient, modern, and accessible and we can't recommend them highly enough. ### 4. This at first sounds complex, but the software breaks it down so everyone can work together effectively. I work with the marketing and teams who coordinates the adoption/foster/volunteer process and everyone of all experiences can work together without needing a strong technical background for database management nor web development. The software is dynamic in a sense that there is always room to grow. As the rescue got bigger and our influx of rescue pups increased, we needed to update the user's experience. Laurie's team did an amazing job bringing our site to where it is without any issues! She was able to tell me the specific technologies, they focused on automating the backend processes, and I was able to effectively focus on the design and user's experience. AMAZING TEAM AND SOFTWARE. Laurie is an amazing person! Her team is very organized and when we set deadlines and goals, they go above and beyond! She is a kind hearted person who's true focus is to help rescues. She helped us with our first and very successful virtual event and made our donation process in the event so flawless. She had a lot of great pointers to have a better SEO score in turn shortened our adoption turnover rate. She has worked with a lot of different rescues and you are not only paying for a software, you are getting a lot of advice and tools to make your process successful! **What do you dislike about Buzz to the Rescues?** The integration is so fluid it is hard to see where the software ends and when a new add on is a third party add on. I quickly got that resolved when I talked to the team. So no real issues! **Recommendations to others considering Buzz to the Rescues:** The software made our donation process so flawless 🎉🎊. They did an amazing job paving the path on our first virtual event. **What problems is Buzz to the Rescues solving and how is that benefiting you?** Streamlined the adopt, foster, volunteer, and donation process. Having the capability to create events on the site so all the money goes back into the Rescue. Having the capability to customize the software as the rescue grows. Having an open line with the software developer team and a great relationship with them. To me, the team is like family! ### 5. Using Buzz means all of our dog records (including medical), online applications for dogs, fosters and volunteering are IN ONE PLACE! Having our small team of dedicated volunteers use one platform has saved us hours of precious resources by streamlining our interview & approval process. Training our team to use the Buzz platform was painless - after 2 hour-long sessions we were ready to roll. It’s intuitive and we become seasoned pros in no time. It was great to be able to modify some application questions as we are breed-specific and Weims have some peculiar & socially imperfect qualities. Thanks to Buzz, we now have a gorgeous website we can modify ourselves, and all the application information feeds into the backend. Seriously - save your rescue time - money - and aggravation- sign up with Buzz today! **What do you dislike about Buzz to the Rescues?** As our team is not particularly tech savvy - we are learning about “Bugs” and that some fixes are beyond our abilities. That said - that the Buzz team is incredibly responsive. Their turnaround time is very fast. **What problems is Buzz to the Rescues solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had an outdated website and making changes took forever as we relied on a person outside the rescue. With Buzz we can make changes ourselves instantly. Our applications were not online. We used google sheets, excel, and our own computers to keep records on dogs and adopters. This chaotic nightmare is finally over now that we only use Buzz. Getting donations in and managing receipts took a lot of time. Now that GLWR donations are linked from our website to a plug-in called GIVE, receipts and annual totals are sent to donors automatically. Imagine! This costs us $250 a year and is worth every penny. We save that in stamps and thank you cards alone! ### 6. Animal database, website, adoption process, foster contacts, volunteer management, donations. Everything is integrated into one single dashboard. The best part... add a new animal to the database and PRESTO, you have a web profile too! We are very happy with the website that Buzz to the Rescues built for us as part of the package. We had several minor challenges in our transition, but the Buzz team has been very supportive to help us either figure out how to make the system work for us OR to adapt the system to make it work better. **Recommendations to others considering Buzz to the Rescues:** This is a really great platform for rescue organizations that manage large numbers of animals. The integration between the animal database and the website alone saves us a lot of time. Buzz really understands the animal rescue world and has built a system based on that understanding. They continue to grow the system, add features and provide excellent support. **What problems is Buzz to the Rescues solving and how is that benefiting you?** Once of our biggest challenges as a Mexican rescue that some parts of our organization operate in both English and Spanish. Buzz was very responsive to this challenge and they are currently working with us to translate our website and add some translatable features. ### 7. We were able to replace all the various apps we previously used with an all-in-one platform. After adding the costs we paid to various companies for email, web hosting, backups, SSL certificates, blog design, etc, we now pay just one vendor for only a few dollars more each month. **What do you dislike about Buzz to the Rescues?** Training new technology to seasoned volunteers is always a struggle, but Buzz's support was easily understood and the design flow is well written. **What problems is Buzz to the Rescues solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our former website used PHP 5.2.x (no longer supported) for our online applications. We wanted to replace all the various apps we used with an all-in-one platform.
